Proverbs 3
1 My sonne, forget not thou my Lawe, but let thine heart keepe my commandements.
Mein Kind, vergiß meines Gesetzes nicht, und dein Herz behalte meine Gebote.
2 For they shall increase the length of thy dayes and the yeeres of life, and thy prosperitie.
Denn sie werden dir langes Leben und gute Jahre und Frieden bringen;
3 Let not mercie and trueth forsake thee: binde them on thy necke, and write them vpon the table of thine heart.
Gnade und Treue werden dich nicht lassen. Hänge sie an deinen Hals und schreibe sie auf die Tafel deines Herzens,
4 So shalt thou finde fauour and good vnderstanding in the sight of God and man.
so wirst du Gunst und Klugheit finden, die Gott und Menschen gefällt.
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and leane not vnto thine owne wisdome.
Verlaß dich auf den HERRN von ganzem Herzen und verlaß dich nicht auf deinen Verstand;
6 In all thy wayes acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy wayes.
sondern gedenke an ihn in allen deinen Wegen, so wird er dich recht führen.
7 Be not wise in thine owne eyes: but feare the Lord, and depart from euill.
Dünke dich nicht, weise zu sein, sondern fürchte den HERRN und weiche vom Bösen.
8 So health shalbe vnto thy nauel, and marowe vnto thy bones.
Das wird deinem Leibe gesund sein und deine Gebeine erquicken.
9 Honour the Lord with thy riches, and with the first fruites of all thine increase.
Ehre den HERRN von deinem Gut und von den Erstlingen all deines Einkommens,
10 So shall thy barnes be filled with abundance, and thy presses shall burst with newe wine.
so werden deine Scheunen voll werden und deine Kelter mit Most übergehen.
11 My sonne, refuse not the chastening of the Lord, neither be grieued with his correction.
Mein Kind, verwirf die Zucht des HERRN nicht und sei nicht ungeduldig über seine Strafe.
12 For the Lord correcteth him, whome he loueth, euen as the father doeth the childe in whom he deliteth.
Denn welchen der HERR liebt, den straft er, und hat doch Wohlgefallen an ihm wie ein Vater am Sohn.
13 Blessed is the man that findeth wisedome, and the man that getteth vnderstanding.
Wohl dem Menschen, der Weisheit findet, und dem Menschen, der Verstand bekommt!
14 For the marchandise thereof is better then the marchandise of siluer, and the gaine thereof is better then golde.
Denn es ist besser, sie zu erwerben, als Silber; denn ihr Ertrag ist besser als Gold.
15 It is more precious then pearles: and all things that thou canst desire, are not to be compared vnto her.
Sie ist edler denn Perlen; und alles, was du wünschen magst, ist ihr nicht zu vergleichen.
16 Length of dayes is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory.
Langes Leben ist zu ihrer rechten Hand; zu ihrer Linken ist Reichtum und Ehre.
17 Her wayes are wayes of pleasure, and all her pathes prosperitie.
Ihre Wege sind liebliche Wege, und alle ihre Steige sind Friede.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay holde on her, and blessed is he that retaineth her.
Sie ist ein Baum des Lebens allen, die sie ergreifen; und selig sind, die sie halten.
19 The Lord by wisdome hath layde the foundation of the earth, and hath stablished the heauens through vnderstanding.
Denn der HERR hat die Erde durch Weisheit gegründet und durch seinen Rat die Himmel bereitet.
20 By his knowledge the depthes are broken vp, and the cloudes droppe downe the dewe.
Durch seine Weisheit sind die Tiefen zerteilt und die Wolken mit Tau triefend gemacht.
21 My sonne, let not these things depart from thine eyes, but obserue wisdome, and counsell.
Mein Kind, laß sie nicht von deinen Augen weichen, so wirst du glückselig und klug werden.
22 So they shalbe life to thy soule, and grace vnto thy necke.
Das wird deiner Seele Leben sein und ein Schmuck deinem Halse.
23 Then shalt thou walke safely by thy way: and thy foote shall not stumble.
Dann wirst du sicher wandeln auf deinem Wege, daß dein Fuß sich nicht stoßen wird.
24 If thou sleepest, thou shalt not bee afraide, and when thou sleepest, thy sleepe shalbe sweete.
Legst du dich, so wirst du dich nicht fürchten, sondern süß schlafen,
25 Thou shalt not feare for any sudden feare, neither for the destruction of the wicked, when it commeth.
daß du dich nicht fürchten darfst vor plötzlichem Schrecken noch vor dem Sturm der Gottlosen, wenn er kommt.
26 For the Lord shall be for thine assurance, and shall preserue thy foote from taking.
Denn der HERR ist dein Trotz; der behütet deinen Fuß, daß er nicht gefangen werde.
27 Withhold not the good from the owners thereof, though there be power in thine hand to doe it.
Weigere dich nicht, dem Dürftigen Gutes zu tun, so deine Hand von Gott hat, solches zu tun.
28 Say not vnto thy neighbour, Go and come againe, and to morow wil I giue thee, if thou now haue it.
Sprich nicht zu deinem Nächsten: “Geh hin und komm wieder; morgen will ich dir geben”, so du es wohl hast.
29 Intend none hurt against thy neighbour, seeing he doeth dwell without feare by thee.
Trachte nicht Böses wider deinen Nächsten, der auf Treue bei dir wohnt.
30 Striue not with a man causelesse, when he hath done thee no harme.
Hadere nicht mit jemand ohne Ursache, so er dir kein Leid getan hat.
31 Bee not enuious for the wicked man, neither chuse any of his wayes.
Eifere nicht einem Frevler nach und erwähle seiner Wege keinen;
32 For the frowarde is abomination vnto the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.
denn der HERR hat Greuel an dem Abtrünnigen, und sein Geheimnis ist bei den Frommen.
33 The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.
Im Hause des Gottlosen ist der Fluch des HERRN; aber das Haus der Gerechten wird gesegnet.
34 With the scornefull he scorneth, but hee giueth grace vnto the humble.
Er wird der Spötter spotten; aber den Elenden wird er Gnade geben.
35 The wise shall inherite glorie: but fooles dishonour, though they be exalted.
Die Weisen werden Ehre erben; aber wenn die Narren hochkommen, werden sie doch zu Schanden.
