< Proverbs 26 >

1 As the snowe in the sommer, and as the raine in the haruest are not meete, so is honour vnseemely for a foole.
Ngati chisanu choti mbee nthawi yachilimwe kapena mvula nthawi yokolola, ndi momwe zilili ndi ulemu wowulandira chitsiru.
2 As the sparowe by flying, and the swallow by flying escape, so the curse that is causeles, shall not come.
Ngati timba wokhalira kuwuluka kapena namzeze wokhalira kuzungulirazungulira, ndi mmenenso limachitira temberero lopanda chifukwa, silichitika.
3 Vnto the horse belongeth a whip, to the asse a bridle, and a rod to the fooles backe.
Mkwapulo ndi wokwapulira kavalo, chitsulo ndi cha mʼkamwa mwa bulu, choncho ndodo ndi yoyenera ku msana wa chitsiru.
4 Answer not a foole according to his foolishnes, least thou also be like him.
Usayankhe chitsiru monga mwa uchitsiru wake, kuopa kuti ungadzakhale ngati chitsirucho.
5 Answere a foole according to his foolishnes, least he be wise in his owne conceite.
Koma nthawi zina umuyankhe monga mwa uchitsiru wake, kuopa kuti angamadziyese yekha wanzeru.
6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a foole, is as he that cutteth off the feete, and drinketh iniquitie.
Kutuma chitsiru kuti akapereke uthenga kuli ngati kudzidula mapazi ndipo kumakuyitanira mavuto.
7 As they that lift vp the legs of the lame, so is a parable in a fooles mouth.
Monga miyendo ya munthu wolumala imene ilibe mphamvu ndi mmene ulili mwambi mʼkamwa mwa chitsiru.
8 As the closing vp of a precious stone in an heape of stones, so is he that giueth glory to a foole.
Kupereka ulemu kwa chitsiru zili ngati kukulunga mwala mʼlegeni.
9 As a thorne standing vp in the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fooles.
Monga umachitira mtengo waminga wobaya mʼdzanja la chidakwa ndi mmene ulili mwambi mʼkamwa mwa chitsiru.
10 The excellent that formed all things, both rewardeth the foole and rewardeth the transgressers.
Munthu amene amalemba ntchito chitsiru chongoyendayenda, ali ngati woponya mivi amene angolasa anthu chilaselase.
11 As a dog turneth againe to his owne vomit, so a foole turneth to his foolishnes.
Chitsiru chimene chimabwerezabwereza uchitsiru wake chili ngati galu amene amabwerera ku masanzi ake.
12 Seest thou a man wise in his owne conceite? more hope is of a foole then of him.
Munthu wa uchitsiru aliko bwino popeza pali chiyembekezo kuposana ndi munthu amene amadziyesa yekha kuti ndi wanzeru.
13 The slouthfull man sayth, A lyon is in the way: a lyon is in the streetes.
Munthu waulesi amati, “Mu msewu muli mkango, mkango woopsa ukuyendayenda mʼmisewu!”
14 As the doore turneth vpon his hinges, so doeth the slouthfull man vpon his bed.
Monga chitseko chimapita uku ndi uku pa zolumikizira zake, momwemonso munthu waulesi amangotembenukatembenuka pa bedi lake.
15 The slouthfull hideth his hand in his bosome, and it grieueth him to put it againe to his mouth.
Munthu waulesi akapisa dzanja lake mu mʼbale; zimamutopetsa kuti alifikitse pakamwa pake.
16 The sluggard is wiser in his owne conceite, then seuen men that can render a reason.
Munthu waulesi amadziyesa yekha wanzeru kuposa anthu asanu ndi awiri amene amayankha mochenjera.
17 He that passeth by and medleth with the strife that belongeth not vnto him, is as one that taketh a dog by the eares.
Munthu wongolowera mikangano imene si yake ali ngati munthu wogwira makutu a galu wongodziyendera.
18 As he that faineth himselfe mad, casteth fire brands, arrowes, and mortall things,
Monga munthu wamisala amene akuponya sakali zamoto kapena mivi yoopsa,
19 So dealeth the deceitfull man with his friend and sayth, Am not I in sport?
ndi momwe alili munthu wonamiza mnzake, amene amati, “Ndimangoseka chabe!”
20 Without wood the fire is quenched, and without a talebearer strife ceaseth.
Pakasowa nkhuni, moto umazima; chomwechonso pakasowa anthu amiseche mkangano umatha.
21 As ye cole maketh burning coles, and wood a fire, so the contentious man is apt to kindle strife.
Monga alili makala pa moto wonyeka kapena mmene zimachitira nkhuni pa moto, ndi mmene alili munthu wolongolola poyambitsa mikangano.
22 The wordes of a tale bearer are as flatterings, and they goe downe into the bowels of the belly.
Mawu a munthu wamiseche ali ngati chakudya chokoma; chimene chimatsikira mʼmimba mwa munthu.
23 As siluer drosse ouerlayde vpon a potsheard, so are burning lips, and an euill heart.

24 He that hateth, will counterfaite with his lips, but in his heart he layeth vp deceite.
Munthu wachidani amayankhula zabwino pamene mu mtima mwake muli chinyengo.
25 Though he speake fauourably, beleeue him not: for there are seuen abominations in his heart.
Ngakhale wotereyu mawu ake ali okoma, koma usamukhulupirire, pakuti mu mtima mwake mwadzaza zonyansa.
26 Hatred may be couered by deceite: but the malice thereof shall be discouered in the congregation.
Ngakhale amabisa chidani mochenjera, koma kuyipa kwakeko kudzaonekera poyera pa gulu la anthu.
27 He that diggeth a pit shall fall therein, and he that rolleth a stone, it shall returne vnto him.
Ngati munthu akumba dzenje, adzagweramo yekha; ngati munthu agubuduza mwala, udzamupsinja iye mwini.
28 A false tongue hateth the afflicted, and a flattering mouth causeth ruine.
Munthu wonama amadana ndi amene anawapweteka, ndipo pakamwa poshashalika pamabweretsa chiwonongeko.
