Proverbs 2
1 My sonne, if thou wilt receiue my wordes, and hide my commandements within thee,
ऐ मेरे बेटे, अगर तू मेरी बातों को क़ुबूल करे, और मेरे फ़रमान को निगाह में रख्खे,
2 And cause thine eares to hearken vnto wisdome, and encline thine heart to vnderstanding,
ऐसा कि तू हिकमत की तरफ़ कान लगाए, और समझ से दिल लगाए,
3 (For if thou callest after knowledge, and cryest for vnderstanding:
बल्कि अगर तू 'अक़्ल को पुकारे, और समझ के लिए आवाज़ बलन्द करे
4 If thou seekest her as siluer, and searchest for her as for treasures,
और उसको ऐसा ढूँढे जैसे चाँदी को, और उसकी ऐसी तलाश करे जैसी पोशीदा ख़ज़ानों की;
5 Then shalt thou vnderstand the feare of the Lord, and finde the knowledge of God.
तो तू ख़ुदावन्द के ख़ौफ़ को समझेगा, और ख़ुदा के ज़रिए' को हासिल करेगा।
6 For the Lord giueth wisdome, out of his mouth commeth knowledge and vnderstanding.
क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द हिकमत बख़्शता है; 'इल्म — ओ — समझ उसी के मुँह से निकलते हैं।
7 He preserueth the state of the righteous: he is a shielde to them that walke vprightly,
वह रास्तबाज़ों के लिए मदद तैयार रखता है, और रास्तरौ के लिए सिपर है।
8 That they may keepe the wayes of iudgement: and he preserueth the way of his Saintes)
ताकि वह 'अद्ल की राहों की निगहबानी करे, और अपने मुक़द्दसों की राह को महफ़ूज़ रख्खे।
9 Then shalt thou vnderstand righteousnes, and iudgement, and equitie, and euery good path.
तब तू सदाक़त और 'अद्ल और रास्ती को, बल्कि हर एक अच्छी राह को समझेगा।
10 When wisdome entreth into thine heart, and knowledge deliteth thy soule,
क्यूँकि हिकमत तेरे दिल में दाख़िल होगी, और 'इल्म तेरी जान को पसंद होगा,
11 Then shall counsell preserue thee, and vnderstanding shall keepe thee,
तमीज़ तेरी निगहबान होगी, समझ तेरी हिफ़ाज़त करेगा;
12 And deliuer thee from the euill way, and from the man that speaketh froward things,
ताकि तुझे शरीर की राह से, और कजगो से बचाएँ।
13 And from them that leaue the wayes of righteousnes to walke in the wayes of darkenes:
जो रास्तबाज़ी की राह को छोड़ते हैं, ताकि तारीकी की राहों में चलें,
14 Which reioyce in doing euill, and delite in the frowardnesse of the wicked,
जो बदकारी से ख़ुश होते हैं, और शरारत की कजरवी में खु़श रहते हैं,
15 Whose wayes are crooked and they are lewde in their paths.
जिनका चाल चलन ना हमवार, और जिनकी राहें टेढ़ी हैं।
16 And it shall deliuer thee from the strange woman, euen from the stranger, which flattereth with her wordes.
ताकि तुझे बेगाना 'औरत से बचाएँ, या'नी चिकनी चुपड़ी बातें करने वाली पराई 'औरत से,
17 Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the couenant of her God.
जो अपनी जवानी के साथी को छोड़ देती है, और अपने ख़ुदा के 'अहद को भूल जाती है।
18 Surely her house tendeth to death, and her paths vnto the dead.
क्यूँकि उसका घर मौत की उतराई पर है, और उसकी राहें पाताल को जाती हैं।
19 All they that goe vnto her, returne not againe, neither take they holde of the wayes of life.
जो कोई उसके पास जाता है, वापस नहीं आता; और ज़िन्दगी की राहों तक नहीं पहुँचता।
20 Therefore walke thou in the way of good men, and keepe the wayes of the righteous.
ताकि तू नेकों की राह पर चले, और सादिक़ों की राहों पर क़ाईम रहे।
21 For the iust shall dwell in the land, and the vpright men shall remaine in it.
क्यूँकि रास्तबाज़ मुल्क में बसेंगे, और कामिल उसमें आबाद रहेंगे।
22 But the wicked shalbe cut off from ye earth, and the transgressours shalbe rooted out of it.
लेकिन शरीर ज़मीन पर से काट डाले जाएँगे, और दग़ाबाज़ उससे उखाड़ फेंके जाएँगे।
