Proverbs 18
1 For the desire thereof hee will separate himselfe to seeke it, and occupie himselfe in all wisdome.
௧பிரிந்து போகிறவன் தன்னுடைய ஆசையின்படி செய்யப்பார்க்கிறான், எல்லா ஞானத்திலும் தலையிட்டுக் கொள்ளுகிறான்.
2 A foole hath no delite in vnderstanding: but that his heart may be discouered.
௨மூடன் ஞானத்தில் பிரியம்கொள்ளாமல், தன்னுடைய மனதிலுள்ளவைகளை வெளிப்படுத்தப் பிரியப்படுகிறான்.
3 When the wicked commeth, then commeth contempt, and with the vile man reproch.
௩துன்மார்க்கன் வர அவமானம் வரும்; அவமானத்தோடு இகழ்ச்சியும் வரும்.
4 The words of a mans mouth are like deepe waters, and the welspring of wisdome is like a flowing riuer.
௪மனிதனுடைய வாய்மொழிகள் ஆழமான தண்ணீர்போல இருக்கும்; ஞானத்தின் ஊற்று பாய்கிற ஆற்றைப்போல இருக்கும்.
5 It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to cause ye righteous to fall in iudgement.
௫வழக்கிலே நீதிமானைத் தோற்கடிக்கிறதற்கு, துன்மார்க்கனுக்கு பாரபட்சம் செய்வது நல்லதல்ல.
6 A fooles lips come with strife, and his mouth calleth for stripes.
௬மூடனுடைய உதடுகள் விவாதத்தில் நுழையும், அவனுடைய வாய் அடிகளை வரவழைக்கும்.
7 A fooles mouth is his owne destruction, and his lips are a snare for his soule.
௭மூடனுடைய வாய் அவனுக்குக் கேடு, அவனுடைய உதடுகள் அவனுடைய ஆத்துமாவுக்குக் கண்ணி.
8 The wordes of a tale bearer are as flatterings, and they goe downe into the bowels of the belly.
௮கோள்சொல்கிறவனுடைய வார்த்தைகள் விளையாட்டுப்போல இருக்கும், ஆனாலும் அவைகள் உள்ளத்திற்குள் குத்தும்.
9 He also that is slouthfull in his worke, is euen the brother of him that is a great waster.
௯தன்னுடைய வேலையில் அசதியாக இருப்பவன் அனைத்தையும் அழிப்பவனுக்குச் சகோதரன்.
10 The Name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth vnto it, and is exalted.
௧0யெகோவாவின் நாமம் மிகவும் பலத்த கோட்டை; நீதிமான் அதற்குள் ஓடி சுகமாக இருப்பான்.
11 The rich mans riches are his strong citie: and as an hie wall in his imagination.
௧௧செல்வந்தனுடைய பொருள் அவனுக்கு பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணம்; அது அவனுடைய எண்ணத்தில் உயர்ந்த மதில்போல இருக்கும்.
12 Before destruction the heart of a man is hautie, and before glory goeth lowlines.
௧௨அழிவு வருமுன்பு மனிதனுடைய இருதயம் இறுமாப்பாக இருக்கும்; மேன்மைக்கு முன்னானது தாழ்மை.
13 He that answereth a matter before hee heare it, it is folly and shame vnto him.
௧௩காரியத்தைக் கேட்பதற்குமுன் பதில் சொல்லுகிறவனுக்கு, அது புத்தியீனமும் வெட்கமுமாக இருக்கும்.
14 The spirit of a man will susteine his infirmitie: but a wounded spirit who can beare it?
௧௪மனிதனுடைய ஆவி அவனுடைய பலவீனத்தைத் தாங்கும்; முறிந்த ஆவி யாரால் தாங்கக்கூடும்?
15 A wise heart getteth knowledge, and the eare of the wise seeketh learning.
௧௫புத்திமானுடைய மனம் அறிவைச் சம்பாதிக்கும்; ஞானியின் செவி அறிவை நாடும்.
16 A mans gift enlargeth him, and leadeth him before great men.
௧௬ஒருவன் கொடுக்கும் வெகுமதி அவனுக்கு வழி உண்டாக்கி, பெரியோர்களுக்கு முன்பாக அவனைக் கொண்டுபோய்விடும்.
17 He that is first in his owne cause, is iust: then commeth his neighbour, and maketh inquirie of him.
௧௭தன்னுடைய வழக்கிலே முதலில் பேசுகிறவன் நீதிமான்போல் காணப்படுவான்; அவனுடைய அயலானோ வந்து அவனை பரிசோதிக்கிறான்.
18 The lot causeth contentions to cease, and maketh a partition among the mightie.
௧௮சீட்டுப்போடுதல் விரோதங்களை ஒழித்து, பலவான்கள் நடுவே நியாயம்தீர்க்கும்.
19 A brother offended is harder to winne then a strong citie, and their contentions are like the barre of a palace.
௧௯பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணத்தை வசப்படுத்துவதைவிட கோபம்கொண்ட சகோதரனை வசப்படுத்துவது கடினம்; அவர்களுடைய விரோதங்கள் கோட்டைத் தாழ்ப்பாள்கள்போல இருக்கும்.
20 With the fruite of a mans mouth shall his belly be satisfied, and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
௨0அவனவன் வாயின் பலனால் அவனவன் வயிறு நிரம்பும்; அவனவன் உதடுகளின் விளைவினால் அவனவன் திருப்தியாவான்.
21 Death and life are in the power of ye tongue, and they that loue it, shall eate the fruite thereof.
௨௧மரணமும், ஜீவனும் நாவின் அதிகாரத்தில் இருக்கும்; அதில் பிரியப்படுகிறவர்கள் அதின் கனியைச் சாப்பிடுவார்கள்.
22 He that findeth a wife, findeth a good thing, and receiueth fauour of the Lord.
௨௨மனைவியைக் கண்டடைகிறவன் நன்மையானதைக் கண்டடைகிறான்; யெகோவாவால் தயவையும் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறான்.
23 The poore speaketh with prayers: but the rich answereth roughly.
௨௩தரித்திரன் கெஞ்சிக்கேட்கிறான்; செல்வந்தன் கடினமாக உத்திரவுகொடுக்கிறான்.
24 A man that hath friends, ought to shew him selfe friendly: for a friend is neerer then a brother.
௨௪நண்பர்கள் உள்ளவன் நேசிக்கவேண்டும்; சகோதரனைவிட அதிக சொந்தமாக நேசிக்கப்படுபவனும் உண்டு.
