Proverbs 16
1 The preparations of the heart are in man: but the answere of the tongue is of the Lord.
Los designios del corazón son del hombre, pero la respuesta final viene del Señor.
2 All the wayes of a man are cleane in his owne eyes: but the Lord pondereth the spirits.
Todos los caminos del hombre son limpios para él mismo; pero el Señor pone los espíritus de los hombres en su balanza.
3 Commit thy workes vnto the Lord, and thy thoughts shalbe directed.
Pon tus obras en manos del Señor, y tus propósitos estarán seguros.
4 The Lord hath made all things for his owne sake: yea, euen the wicked for the day of euill.
El Señor hizo todo para su propósito, incluso el pecador para el día del mal.
5 All that are proude in heart, are an abomination to the Lord: though hand ioyne in hand, he shall not be vnpunished.
Todo el que tiene orgullo en su corazón es repugnante para el Señor: ciertamente no se liberará del castigo.
6 By mercy and trueth iniquitie shalbe forgiuen, and by the feare of the Lord they depart from euill.
Con misericordia y buena fe, la maldad es quitada; y por el temor de Jehová, los hombres se apartaron del mal.
7 When the wayes of a man please the Lord, he will make also his enemies at peace with him.
Cuando los caminos del hombre agradan al Señor, él hace que hasta sus enemigos estén en paz con él.
8 Better is a litle with righteousnesse, then great reuenues without equitie.
Mejor es un poco con justicia, que gran riqueza con maldad.
9 The heart of man purposeth his way: but the Lord doeth direct his steppes.
Un hombre puede hacer diseños para su camino, pero el Señor es la guía de sus pasos.
10 A diuine sentence shalbe in the lips of the King: his mouth shall not transgresse in iudgement.
La decisión está en los labios del rey; su boca no se equivocará al juzgar.
11 A true weight and balance are of the Lord: all the weightes of the bagge are his worke.
Las medidas y pesas verdaderas son del Señor: todos las pesas de la bolsa son su trabajo.
12 It is an abomination to Kings to commit wickednes: for the throne is stablished by iustice.
Hacer el mal es repugnante para los reyes: porque el asiento del gobernante se basa en la justicia.
13 Righteous lips are the delite of Kings, and the King loueth him that speaketh right things.
Los labios de la justicia son el deleite de los reyes; y el que dice lo recto le es querido.
14 The wrath of a King is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacifie it.
La ira del rey es como los que dan noticias de la muerte, pero el sabio pondrá la paz en lugar de ella.
15 In the light of the Kings coutenance is life: and his fauour is as a cloude of the latter raine.
A la luz del rostro del rey hay vida; y su aprobación es como una nube de lluvia de primavera.
16 Howe much better is it to get wisedome then golde? and to get vnderstanding, is more to be desired then siluer.
¡Cuánto mejor es obtener sabiduría que oro! y para obtener conocimiento es más deseable que la plata.
17 The pathe of the righteous is to decline from euil, and hee keepeth his soule, that keepeth his way.
El camino de los rectos será apartado del mal; el que guarda su camino guardará su alma.
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an high minde before the fall.
El orgullo va antes de la destrucción, y un espíritu rígido antes de una caída.
19 Better it is to be of humble minde with the lowly, then to deuide the spoyles with the proude.
Mejor es tener un espíritu gentil con los pobres, que tomar parte en las recompensas de la guerra con los hombres de orgullo.
20 He that is wise in his busines, shall finde good: and he that trusteth in the Lord, he is blessed.
El que presta atención a la ley del bien obtendrá el bien; y quien pone su fe en el Señor es feliz.
21 The wise in heart shall bee called prudent: and the sweetenesse of the lippes shall increase doctrine.
Los sabios de corazón serán llamados hombres de buen sentido; y con palabras amables, el aprendizaje aumenta.
22 Vnderstading is welspring of life vnto them that haue it: and the instruction of fooles is folly.
La sabiduría es una fuente de vida para el que la tiene; pero el castigo de los necios es su comportamiento necio.
23 The heart of the wise guideth his mouth wisely, and addeth doctrine to his lippes.
El corazón del sabio es el maestro de su boca, y da mayor conocimiento a sus labios.
24 Faire wordes are as an hony combe, sweetenesse to the soule, and health to the bones.
Las palabras agradables son como la miel, dulces para el alma y una nueva vida para los huesos.
25 There is a way that seemeth right vnto man: but the issue thereof are the wayes of death.
Hay un camino que parece recto ante un hombre, pero su fin son los caminos de la muerte.
26 The person that traueileth, traueileth for himselfe: for his mouth craueth it of him.
El deseo del hombre trabajador está trabajando para él, porque su necesidad de comida lo está impulsando.
27 A wicked man diggeth vp euill, and in his lippes is like burning fire.
Un hombre bueno para nada es un diseñador del mal, y en sus labios hay un fuego ardiente.
28 A frowarde person soweth strife: and a tale teller maketh diuision among princes.
Un hombre con propósitos retorcidos es causa de pelea en todas partes: y el chismoso crea problemas entre amigos.
29 A wicked man deceiueth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good.
Un hombre violento pone el deseo del mal en la mente de su prójimo y lo hace ir por un camino que no es bueno.
30 He shutteth his eyes to deuise wickednes: he moueth his lippes, and bringeth euil to passe.
Aquel cuyos ojos están cerrados es un hombre de propósitos retorcidos, y el que cierra sus labios apretadamente hace que el mal suceda.
31 Age is a crowne of glory, when it is founde in the way of righteousnes.
La cabeza gris es una corona de gloria, si se ve en el camino de la justicia.
32 He that is slowe vnto anger, is better then the mightie man: and hee that ruleth his owne minde, is better then he that winneth a citie.
Mejor es el hombre lento para enojarse que el hombre de guerra, y el que tiene control sobre su espíritu, que el que toma una ciudad.
33 The lot is cast into the lap: but the whole disposition thereof is of the Lord.
Una cosa puede ser puesta a la decisión del azar, pero sucede a través del Señor.
