Proverbs 16
1 The preparations of the heart are in man: but the answere of the tongue is of the Lord.
Pregătirile inimii în om și răspunsul limbii sunt de la DOMNUL.
2 All the wayes of a man are cleane in his owne eyes: but the Lord pondereth the spirits.
Toate căile unui om sunt curate în proprii lui ochi, dar DOMNUL cântărește duhurile.
3 Commit thy workes vnto the Lord, and thy thoughts shalbe directed.
Încredințează lucrările tale DOMNULUI și gândurile tale vor fi întemeiate.
4 The Lord hath made all things for his owne sake: yea, euen the wicked for the day of euill.
DOMNUL a făcut pentru el însuși toate lucrurile; da, chiar pe cel stricat pentru ziua răului.
5 All that are proude in heart, are an abomination to the Lord: though hand ioyne in hand, he shall not be vnpunished.
Fiecare om îngâmfat în inimă este urâciune pentru DOMNUL; deși merge mână în mână, el nu va rămâne nepedepsit.
6 By mercy and trueth iniquitie shalbe forgiuen, and by the feare of the Lord they depart from euill.
Prin milă și adevăr nelegiuirea este îndepărtată, și prin teama de DOMNUL oamenii se depărtează de rău.
7 When the wayes of a man please the Lord, he will make also his enemies at peace with him.
Când căile unui om îi plac DOMNULUI, el face chiar pe dușmanii lui să fie în pace cu el.
8 Better is a litle with righteousnesse, then great reuenues without equitie.
Mai bine puțin cu dreptate, decât venituri mari fără dreptate.
9 The heart of man purposeth his way: but the Lord doeth direct his steppes.
Inima unui om plănuiește calea lui, dar DOMNUL îi conduce pașii.
10 A diuine sentence shalbe in the lips of the King: his mouth shall not transgresse in iudgement.
O hotărâre divină este pe buzele împăratului; gura lui nu încalcă legea în judecată.
11 A true weight and balance are of the Lord: all the weightes of the bagge are his worke.
O greutate și o balanță dreaptă sunt ale DOMNULUI; toate greutățile din pungă sunt lucrarea lui.
12 It is an abomination to Kings to commit wickednes: for the throne is stablished by iustice.
Pentru împărați este urâciune să comită stricăciune, pentru că tronul este întemeiat prin dreptate.
13 Righteous lips are the delite of Kings, and the King loueth him that speaketh right things.
Buzele drepte sunt desfătarea împăraților și ei iubesc pe acela care vorbește drept.
14 The wrath of a King is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacifie it.
Furia unui împărat este ca mesagerii morții, dar un om înțelept o va potoli.
15 In the light of the Kings coutenance is life: and his fauour is as a cloude of the latter raine.
În lumina înfățișării împăratului este viață; și favoarea lui este ca un nor de ploaie de primăvară.
16 Howe much better is it to get wisedome then golde? and to get vnderstanding, is more to be desired then siluer.
Cu cât este mai bine a obține înțelepciune decât aur! Și a obține înțelegere mai de ales decât argint!
17 The pathe of the righteous is to decline from euil, and hee keepeth his soule, that keepeth his way.
Calea largă a celor integri este să se depărteze de rău; cel ce își păzește calea își păstrează sufletul.
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an high minde before the fall.
Mândria merge înaintea distrugerii și un duh îngâmfat înaintea căderii.
19 Better it is to be of humble minde with the lowly, then to deuide the spoyles with the proude.
Mai bine să ai un duh umil cu cei de jos, decât să împarți prada cu cei mândri.
20 He that is wise in his busines, shall finde good: and he that trusteth in the Lord, he is blessed.
Cel ce se comportă cu înțelepciune într-un lucru va găsi binele; și oricine se încrede în DOMNUL este fericit.
21 The wise in heart shall bee called prudent: and the sweetenesse of the lippes shall increase doctrine.
Cel înțelept în inimă se va numi chibzuit; și dulceața buzelor adaugă învățătură.
22 Vnderstading is welspring of life vnto them that haue it: and the instruction of fooles is folly.
Înțelegerea este un izvor de viață pentru cel ce o are, dar instruirea nechibzuiților este nechibzuință.
23 The heart of the wise guideth his mouth wisely, and addeth doctrine to his lippes.
Inima celui înțelept îi face gura chibzuită și adaugă învățătură buzelor sale.
24 Faire wordes are as an hony combe, sweetenesse to the soule, and health to the bones.
Cuvintele plăcute sunt ca un fagure de miere, dulci pentru suflet și sănătate pentru oase.
25 There is a way that seemeth right vnto man: but the issue thereof are the wayes of death.
Este o cale care i se pare dreaptă unui om, dar sfârșitul ei sunt căile morții.
26 The person that traueileth, traueileth for himselfe: for his mouth craueth it of him.
Cel ce muncește, muncește pentru el însuși, fiindcă gura lui poftește aceasta de la el.
27 A wicked man diggeth vp euill, and in his lippes is like burning fire.
Un om neevlavios sapă să scoată răul la iveală și pe buzele sale este ca un foc arzător.
28 A frowarde person soweth strife: and a tale teller maketh diuision among princes.
Un om pervers seamănă ceartă, și un șoptitor desparte prieteni buni.
29 A wicked man deceiueth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good.
Un om violent ademenește pe aproapele său și îl conduce pe calea care nu este bună.
30 He shutteth his eyes to deuise wickednes: he moueth his lippes, and bringeth euil to passe.
El își închide ochii ca să uneltească lucruri perverse; mișcându-și buzele duce răul la împlinire.
31 Age is a crowne of glory, when it is founde in the way of righteousnes.
Capul cărunt este o coroană a gloriei, dacă este găsit pe calea dreptății.
32 He that is slowe vnto anger, is better then the mightie man: and hee that ruleth his owne minde, is better then he that winneth a citie.
Cel încet la mânie este mai bun decât cel tare, și cel ce își stăpânește duhul, decât cel ce ia o cetate.
33 The lot is cast into the lap: but the whole disposition thereof is of the Lord.
Sorțul este aruncat în poală, dar întregul verdict al acestuia este al DOMNULUI.
