Proverbs 16
1 The preparations of the heart are in man: but the answere of the tongue is of the Lord.
हृदयका योजनाहरू मानिसका हुन्, तर जिब्रोको जवाफ परमप्रभुबाट नै आउँछ ।
2 All the wayes of a man are cleane in his owne eyes: but the Lord pondereth the spirits.
मानिसका सबै मार्ग उसको आफ्नै दृष्टिमा शुद्ध छन्, तर परमप्रभुले अभिप्रायहरू जोख्नुहुन्छ ।
3 Commit thy workes vnto the Lord, and thy thoughts shalbe directed.
आफ्ना कामहरू परमप्रभुमा सुम्प, र तिम्रा योजनाहरू सफल हुने छन् ।
4 The Lord hath made all things for his owne sake: yea, euen the wicked for the day of euill.
परमप्रभुले हरेक थोक यसको आफ्नो उद्धेश्यको लागि बनाउनुभएको छ । उहाँले दुष्टहरूलाई समेत विनाशको दिनको लागि राख्नुभएको छ ।
5 All that are proude in heart, are an abomination to the Lord: though hand ioyne in hand, he shall not be vnpunished.
अहङ्कारी हृदय भएको हरेकलाई परमप्रभु घृणा गर्नुहुन्छ, तर यो निश्चित छ, कि तिनीहरू दण्डविना उम्कने छैनन् ।
6 By mercy and trueth iniquitie shalbe forgiuen, and by the feare of the Lord they depart from euill.
करारको विश्वसनियता र भरोसाद्वारा अधर्मको प्रायश्चित्त हुन्छ, र परमप्रभुको भयद्वारा मानिसहरू खराबीबाट तर्कने छन् ।
7 When the wayes of a man please the Lord, he will make also his enemies at peace with him.
जब मानिसका मार्गहरूले परमप्रभुलाई खुसी पार्छन्, तब उहाँले त्यसका शत्रुहरूलाई पनि त्यससित मिलापमा राख्नुहुने छ ।
8 Better is a litle with righteousnesse, then great reuenues without equitie.
अन्यायसित कमाएको धेरै धन-सम्पत्तिभन्दा बरु ठिकसित कमाएको थोरै नै उत्तम हुन्छ ।
9 The heart of man purposeth his way: but the Lord doeth direct his steppes.
मानिसले आफ्नो हृदयमा योजना बुन्छ, तर परमप्रभुले नै त्यसका कदमहरू निर्धारण गर्नुहुन्छ ।
10 A diuine sentence shalbe in the lips of the King: his mouth shall not transgresse in iudgement.
राजाको ओठमा अन्तर्ज्ञानयुक्त निर्णयहरू हुन्छन् । तिनको मुखले न्यायलाई धोका दिनुहुँदैन ।
11 A true weight and balance are of the Lord: all the weightes of the bagge are his worke.
इमानदार तराजु परमप्रभुबाट आउँछ । थैलीमा भएका सबै ढक उहाँका काम हुन् ।
12 It is an abomination to Kings to commit wickednes: for the throne is stablished by iustice.
राजाले दुष्ट कामहरू गर्दा त्यसलाई तुच्छ ठानिनुपर्छ, किनकि ठिक गरेर नै सिंहासन स्थापित हुन्छ ।
13 Righteous lips are the delite of Kings, and the King loueth him that speaketh right things.
ठिक बोल्ने ओठमा राजा आनन्दित हुन्छ, र सत्य बोल्ने व्यक्तिलाई तिनी प्रेम गर्छन् ।
14 The wrath of a King is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacifie it.
राजाको क्रोध मृत्युको दूत हो, तर बुद्धिमान् मानिसले तिनको रिसलाई शान्त पार्ने कोसिस गर्छ ।
15 In the light of the Kings coutenance is life: and his fauour is as a cloude of the latter raine.
राजाको मुहारको ज्योतिमा जीवन हुन्छ, र तिनको निगाह वसन्त ऋतुमा झरी ल्याउने बादलजस्तै हो ।
16 Howe much better is it to get wisedome then golde? and to get vnderstanding, is more to be desired then siluer.
सुनभन्दा बुद्धि प्राप्त गर्नु र चाँदीभन्दा समझशक्ति प्राप्त गर्नु उत्तम हुन्छ ।
17 The pathe of the righteous is to decline from euil, and hee keepeth his soule, that keepeth his way.
धर्मी मानिसहरूको लोकमार्ग खराबीबाट अलग रहन्छ । आफ्नो जीवनको रक्षा गर्नेले आफ्नो मार्गको रखवाली गर्छ ।
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an high minde before the fall.
विनाशअगि घमण्ड आउँछ, र पतनअगि हठी आत्मा आउँछ ।
19 Better it is to be of humble minde with the lowly, then to deuide the spoyles with the proude.
घमण्डी मानिसहरूलाई लुटको माल बाँड्नुभन्दा बरु गरिब मानिसहरूका बिचमा विनम्र हुनु उत्तम हुन्छ ।
20 He that is wise in his busines, shall finde good: and he that trusteth in the Lord, he is blessed.
सिकाइएको शिक्षामा मनन गर्नेले असल कुरो पाउने छ, र परमप्रभुमाथि भरोसा गर्नेहरू आशिषित् हुने छन् ।
21 The wise in heart shall bee called prudent: and the sweetenesse of the lippes shall increase doctrine.
हृदयमा बुद्धिमान् हुनेलाई विवेकशील भनिन्छ, र मिठा बोलीवचनले सिकाउने क्षमताको विकास गर्छ ।
22 Vnderstading is welspring of life vnto them that haue it: and the instruction of fooles is folly.
समझशक्ति भएको व्यक्तिको लागि त्यो जीवनको फुहारा हो, तर मूर्खहरूको अर्ती नै तिनीहरूको मूर्खता हो ।
23 The heart of the wise guideth his mouth wisely, and addeth doctrine to his lippes.
बुद्धिमान् व्यक्तिको हृदयले उसको मुखलाई अन्तर्दृष्टि प्रदान गर्छ, र उसको ओठमा विश्वसनीयता थप्छ ।
24 Faire wordes are as an hony combe, sweetenesse to the soule, and health to the bones.
मिठा वचनहरू महका चाकाजस्ता हुन्, जुन प्राणको लागि मिठो हुन्छ, र हड्डीहरूका लागि चङ्गाइ हुन्छ ।
25 There is a way that seemeth right vnto man: but the issue thereof are the wayes of death.
कुनै बाटो मानिसलाई सिधाजस्तो लाग्ला, तर अन्त्यमा त्यसले मृत्युमा पुर्याउँछ ।
26 The person that traueileth, traueileth for himselfe: for his mouth craueth it of him.
परिश्रमीको पेटले नै त्यसलाई काम गर्न लगाउँछ । त्यसको भोकले त्यसलाई अभिप्रेरित गर्छ ।
27 A wicked man diggeth vp euill, and in his lippes is like burning fire.
बेकम्मा मानिसले खराबीको खाल्डो खन्छ, र त्यसको बोलीवचन पोल्ने आगोझैँ हुन्छ ।
28 A frowarde person soweth strife: and a tale teller maketh diuision among princes.
टेडो मानिसले द्वन्द्व निम्त्याउँछ, र कुरा काट्नाले घनिष्ठ मित्रहरूमा पनि फाटो आउँछ ।
29 A wicked man deceiueth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good.
हिंसा गर्ने मानिसले आफ्नो छिमेकीलाई झुट बोल्छ, र त्यसलाई बेठिक मार्गमा लैजान्छ ।
30 He shutteth his eyes to deuise wickednes: he moueth his lippes, and bringeth euil to passe.
द्वेषपूर्ण आँखा झिम्क्याउनेले टेडो षड्यन्त्र रचिरहेको हुन्छ । आफ्नो ओठ लेब्र्याउनेले खराबी ल्याउँछ ।
31 Age is a crowne of glory, when it is founde in the way of righteousnes.
फुलेको कपाल शोभाको मुकुट हो । ठिक तरिकाले जिएर यसलाई प्राप्त गर्न सकिन्छ ।
32 He that is slowe vnto anger, is better then the mightie man: and hee that ruleth his owne minde, is better then he that winneth a citie.
योद्धा हुनुभन्दा बरु रिसाउनमा धिमा हुनु उत्तम हुन्छ, र आफ्नो आत्मालाई नियन्त्रण गर्नेचाहिँ सहरमाथि विजयी हासिल गर्नेभन्दा बलियो हुन्छ ।
33 The lot is cast into the lap: but the whole disposition thereof is of the Lord.
सप्कोमा चिट्ठा त हालिन्छ, तर निर्णयचाहिँ परमप्रभुबाट नै आउँछ ।
