Proverbs 15
1 A soft answere putteth away wrath: but grieuous wordes stirre vp anger.
A resposta branda desvia o furor, mas a palavra de dor suscita a ira.
2 The tongue of the wise vseth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fooles babbleth out foolishnesse.
A língua dos sábios adorna a sabedoria, mas a boca dos tolos derrama a estultícia.
3 The eyes of the Lord in euery place beholde the euill and the good.
Os olhos do Senhor estão em todo o lugar, contemplando os maus e os bons.
4 A wholesome tongue is as a tree of life: but the frowardnes therof is the breaking of ye minde.
A medicina da língua é árvore de vida, mas a perversidade nela quebranta o espírito.
5 A foole despiseth his fathers instruction: but he that regardeth correction, is prudent.
O tolo despreza a correção de seu pai, mas o que observa a repreensão prudentemente se haverá.
6 The house of the righteous hath much treasure: but in the reuenues of the wicked is trouble.
Na casa do justo há um grande tesouro, mas nos frutos do ímpio há perturbação.
7 The lippes of the wise doe spread abroade knowledge: but ye heart of the foolish doth not so.
Os lábios dos sábios derramarão o conhecimento, mas o coração dos tolos não fará assim.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the righteous is acceptable vnto him.
O sacrifício dos ímpios é abominável ao Senhor, mas a oração dos retos é o seu contentamento.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination vnto the Lord: but he loueth him that followeth righteousnes.
O caminho do ímpio é abominável ao Senhor, mas ao que segue a justiça amará.
10 Instruction is euill to him that forsaketh the way, and he that hateth correction, shall die.
Correção molesta há para o que deixa a vereda, e o que aborrece a repreensão morrerá.
11 Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more the hearts of the sonnes of men? (Sheol h7585)
O inferno e a perdição estão perante o Senhor: quanto mais os corações dos filhos dos homens? (Sheol h7585)
12 A scorner loueth not him that rebuketh him, neither will he goe vnto the wise.
Não ama o escarnecedor aquele que o repreende, nem se chegará aos sábios.
13 A ioyfull heart maketh a chearefull countenance: but by the sorow of the heart the minde is heauie.
O coração alegre aformoseia o rosto, mas pela dor do coração o espírito se abate.
14 The heart of him that hath vnderstanding, seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of the foole is fedde with foolishnes.
O coração entendido buscará o conhecimento, mas a boca dos tolos se apascentará de estultícia.
15 All the dayes of the afflicted are euill: but a good conscience is a continuall feast.
Todos os dias do oprimido são maus, mas o coração alegre é um banquete contínuo.
16 Better is a litle with the feare of the Lord, then great treasure, and trouble therewith.
Melhor é o pouco com o temor do Senhor, do que um grande tesouro, onde há inquietação.
17 Better is a dinner of greene herbes where loue is, then a stalled oxe and hatred therewith.
Melhor é a comida de hortaliça, onde há amor, do que o boi cevado, e com ele o ódio.
18 An angrie man stirreth vp strife: but hee that is slowe to wrath, appeaseth strife.
O homem iracundo suscita contendas, mas o longânimo apaziguará a luta.
19 The way of a slouthfull man is as an hedge of thornes: but the way of the righteous is plaine.
O caminho do preguiçoso é como a sebe de espinhos, mas a vereda dos retos está bem igualada.
20 A wise sonne reioyceth the father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
O filho sábio alegrará a seu pai, mas o homem insensato despreza a sua mãe.
21 Foolishnes is ioy to him that is destitute of vnderstanding: but a man of vnderstanding walketh vprightly.
A estultícia é alegria para o que carece de entendimento, mas o homem entendido anda retamente.
22 Without cousel thoughts come to nought: but in the multitude of counsellers there is stedfastnesse.
Os pensamentos se dissipam, quando não há conselho, mas com a multidão de conselheiros se confirmarão.
23 A ioy commeth to a man by the answere of his mouth: and how good is a word in due season?
O homem se alegra na resposta da sua boca, e a palavra a seu tempo quão boa é!
Para o entendido, o caminho da vida vai para cima, para que se desvie do inferno de baixo. (Sheol h7585)
25 The Lord will destroye the house of the proude men: but hee will stablish the borders of the widowe.
O Senhor arrancará a casa dos soberbos, mas estabelecerá o termo da viúva.
26 The thoughts of ye wicked are abomination to the Lord: but the pure haue pleasant wordes.
Abomináveis são ao Senhor os pensamentos do mau, mas as palavras dos limpos são apráziveis.
27 He that is greedie of gaine, troubleth his owne house: but he that hateth giftes, shall liue.
O que exercita avareza perturba a sua casa, mas o que aborrece presentes viverá.
28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answere: but the wicked mans mouth babbleth euil thinges.
O coração do justo medita o que há de responder, mas a boca dos ímpios derrama em abundância coisas más.
29 The Lord is farre off from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
Longe está o Senhor dos ímpios, mas escutará a oração dos justos.
30 The light of the eyes reioyceth the heart, and a good name maketh the bones fat.
A luz dos olhos alegra o coração, a boa fama engorda os ossos.
31 The eare that hearkeneth to the correction of life, shall lodge among the wise.
Os ouvidos que escutam a repreensão da vida no meio dos sábios farão a sua morada.
32 Hee that refuseth instruction, despiseth his owne soule: but he that obeyeth correction, getteth vnderstanding.
O que rejeita a correção menospreza a sua alma, mas o que escuta a repreensão adquire entendimento.
33 The feare of the Lord is the instruction of wisdome: and before honour, goeth humilitie.
O temor do Senhor é a correção da sabedoria, e diante da honra vai a humildade.
