Proverbs 10
1 THE PARABLE OF SALOMON. A wise sonne maketh a glad father: but a foolish sonne is an heauines to his mother.
Con trai khôn ngoan làm vui cha mình; Nhưng đứa ngu muội gây buồn cho mẹ nó.
2 The treasures of wickednesse profite nothing: but righteousnesse deliuereth from death.
Của phi nghĩa chẳng được ích chi; Song sự công bình giải cứu khỏi chết.
3 The Lord will not famish the soule of the righteous: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
Đức Giê-hô-va không để linh hồn người công bình chịu đói khát; Nhưng Ngài xô đuổi sự ước ao của kẻ ác đi.
4 A slouthfull hand maketh poore: but the hand of the diligent maketh riche.
Kẻ làm việc tay biếng nhác trở nên nghèo hèn; Còn tay kẻ siêng năng làm cho được giàu có.
5 He that gathereth in sommer, is the sonne of wisdome: but he that sleepeth in haruest, is the sonne of confusion.
Ai thâu trữ trong mùa hè là con trai khôn ngoan; Song kẻ ngủ lúc mùa gặt là con trai gây cho sỉ nhục.
6 Blessings are vpon the head of the righteous: but iniquitie shall couer the mouth of the wicked.
Có phước lành giáng trên đầu kẻ công bình; Nhưng miệng kẻ ác giấu sự cường bạo.
7 The memoriall of the iust shalbe blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rotte.
Kỷ niệm người công bình được khen ngợi; Song tên kẻ gian ác rục đi.
8 The wise in heart will receiue commandements: but the foolish in talke shalbe beaten.
Người có lòng khôn ngoan, nhận tiếp những điều răn; Nhưng kẻ có miệng ngu muội phải bị sa ngã.
9 He that walketh vprightly, walketh boldely: but he that peruerteth his wayes, shalbe knowen.
Người nào theo sự ngay thẳng đi vững chắc; Còn kẻ làm cong vẹo đường lối mình bị chúng biết.
10 He that winketh with the eye, worketh sorowe, and he yet is foolish in talke, shalbe beaten.
Kẻ nào nheo mắt làm cho ưu sầu; Còn ai có miệng ngu muội bị sa ngã.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a welspring of life: but iniquitie couereth the mouth of the wicked.
Miệng người công bình là một nguồn sự sống; Nhưng miệng kẻ hung ác giấu sự cường bạo.
12 Hatred stirreth vp contentions: but loue couereth all trespasses.
Sự ghen ghét xui điều cãi lộn; Song lòng thương yêu lấp hết các tội phạm.
13 In the lippes of him that hath vnderstanding wisdome is founde, and a rod shalbe for the backe of him that is destitute of wisedome.
Trên môi miệng người thông sáng có sự khôn ngoan; Nhưng roi vọt dành cho lưng kẻ thiếu trí hiểu.
14 Wise men lay vp knowledge: but ye mouth of the foole is a present destruction.
Người khôn ngoan dành để sự tri thức; Nhưng tại cớ miệng kẻ ngu muội sự bại hoại hòng đến.
15 The riche mans goodes are his strong citie: but the feare of the needie is their pouertie.
Tài sản kẻ giàu có là cái thành kiên cố của người; Song sự hư nát của người khốn khổ là sự nghèo nàn của họ.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: but the reuenues of the wicked to sinne.
Lao khổ của người công bình hướng về sự sống; Còn hoa lợi kẻ hung ác chiều về tội lỗi.
17 He that regardeth instruction, is in the way of life: but he that refuseth correction, goeth out of the way.
Kẻ nghe lời khuyên dạy ở trong đường sự sống; Nhưng ai quên sự quở trách phải lầm lạc.
18 He that dissembleth hatred with lying lips, and he that inuenteth slaunder, is a foole.
Người giấu sự ghen ghét có môi dối giả; Và ai rải điều nói hành là kẻ ngu dại.
19 In many wordes there cannot want iniquitie: but he that refrayneth his lippes, is wise.
Hễ lắm lời, vi phạm nào có thiếu; Nhưng ai cầm giữ miệng mình là khôn ngoan.
20 The tongue of the iust man is as fined siluer: but the heart of the wicked is litle worth.
Lưỡi người công bình giống như bạc cao; Còn lòng kẻ hung ác không ra gì.
21 The lippes of the righteous doe feede many: but fooles shall die for want of wisedome.
Môi miệng người công bình nuôi dạy nhiều người; Nhưng kẻ ngu dại chết, vì thiếu trí hiểu.
22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh riche, and he doeth adde no sorowes with it.
Phước lành của Đức Giê-hô-va làm cho giàu có; Ngài chẳng thêm sự đau lòng gì lẫn vào.
23 It is as a pastime to a foole to doe wickedly: but wisedome is vnderstanding to a man.
Kẻ thiếu trí hiểu coi sự làm ác như chơi; Nhưng người thông sáng thích sự khôn ngoan.
24 That which the wicked feareth, shall come vpon him: but God wil graunt the desire of the righteous.
Điều gì kẻ hung ác sợ sệt, ắt sẽ xảy đến cho nó; Nhưng kẻ công bình sẽ được như ý mình ước ao.
25 As the whirlewinde passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is as an euerlasting foundation.
Khi gió trốt thổi qua, kẻ hung ác không còn nữa; Song nền của người công bình còn đến đời đời.
26 As vineger is to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the slouthful to them that send him.
Như giấm ghê răng, như khói cay mắt, Kẻ làm biếng nhác đối với người sai khiến nó là vậy.
27 The feare of the Lord increaseth the dayes: but the yeeres of the wicked shalbe diminished.
Sự kính sợ Đức Giê-hô-va gia thêm ngày tháng; Còn năm tuổi kẻ ác sẽ bị giảm bớt đi.
28 The patient abiding of the righteous shall be gladnesse: but the hope of the wicked shall perish.
Sự trông mong của người công bình giáp sự vui vẻ; Còn sự trông đợi của kẻ ác sẽ hư mất đi.
29 The way of the Lord is strength to the vpright man: but feare shall be for the workers of iniquitie.
Con đường của Đức Giê-hô-va như một đồn lũy cho người ngay thẳng; Nhưng nó là sự bại hoại cho kẻ làm ác.
30 The righteous shall neuer be remooued: but the wicked shall not dwell in the land.
Người công bình chẳng hề bị rúng động; Song kẻ ác không được ở trên đất.
31 The mouth of the iust shall be fruitfull in wisdome: but the tongue of the froward shall be cut out.
Miệng người công bình sanh sự khôn ngoan; Duy lưỡi của kẻ gian tà sẽ bị truất.
32 The lips of the righteous knowe what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh froward things.
Môi người công bình biết điều đẹp ý; Nhưng miệng kẻ hung ác chỉ nói sự gian tà.
