Proverbs 10
1 THE PARABLE OF SALOMON. A wise sonne maketh a glad father: but a foolish sonne is an heauines to his mother.
En vis son är sins faders glädje; men en galen son är sine moders grämelse.
2 The treasures of wickednesse profite nothing: but righteousnesse deliuereth from death.
Orätt gods hjelper intet; men rättfärdighet friar ifrå döden.
3 The Lord will not famish the soule of the righteous: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
Herren låter icke de rättfärdigas själar hunger lida; men han omstörter de ogudaktigas arghet.
4 A slouthfull hand maketh poore: but the hand of the diligent maketh riche.
En lat hand gör fattigan; men en idog hand gör rikan.
5 He that gathereth in sommer, is the sonne of wisdome: but he that sleepeth in haruest, is the sonne of confusion.
Den som församlar om sommaren, han är klok; men den som i andene sofver, han kommer på skam.
6 Blessings are vpon the head of the righteous: but iniquitie shall couer the mouth of the wicked.
Välsignelse är öfver dens rättfärdigas hufvud; men de ogudaktigas mun skall deras vrånghet öfverfalla.
7 The memoriall of the iust shalbe blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rotte.
De rättfärdigas åminnelse blifver uti välsignelse; men de ogudaktigas namn skall förgås.
8 The wise in heart will receiue commandements: but the foolish in talke shalbe beaten.
Den af hjertat vis är, han anammar buden; men den en galen mun hafver, han varder slagen.
9 He that walketh vprightly, walketh boldely: but he that peruerteth his wayes, shalbe knowen.
Den der ostraffeliga lefver, han lefver säkert; men den der vrång är på sina vägar, han skall uppenbar varda.
10 He that winketh with the eye, worketh sorowe, and he yet is foolish in talke, shalbe beaten.
Den der vinkar med ögonen, han kommer vedermödo åstad; och den en galen mun hafver, han varder slagen.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a welspring of life: but iniquitie couereth the mouth of the wicked.
Dens rättfärdigas mun är en lefvandes källa; men de ogudaktigas mun skall deras vrånghet öfverfalla.
12 Hatred stirreth vp contentions: but loue couereth all trespasses.
Hat uppväcker träto; men kärlek öfverskyler all öfverträdelse.
13 In the lippes of him that hath vnderstanding wisdome is founde, and a rod shalbe for the backe of him that is destitute of wisedome.
Uti de förståndigas läppar finner man vishet; men till ens dåras rygg hörer ris.
14 Wise men lay vp knowledge: but ye mouth of the foole is a present destruction.
De vise bevara lärdom; men de dårars mun är hardt när förskräckelse.
15 The riche mans goodes are his strong citie: but the feare of the needie is their pouertie.
Dens rikas gods är hans faste stad; men fattigdom gör de fattiga blödiga.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: but the reuenues of the wicked to sinne.
Den rättfärdige arbetar till lifvet; men den ogudaktige brukar sina tilldrägt till synd.
17 He that regardeth instruction, is in the way of life: but he that refuseth correction, goeth out of the way.
Hålla tuktan är vägen till lifvet; men den som bortkastar straff, han far vill.
18 He that dissembleth hatred with lying lips, and he that inuenteth slaunder, is a foole.
Falske munnar skyla hat, och den der baktalar, han är en dåre.
19 In many wordes there cannot want iniquitie: but he that refrayneth his lippes, is wise.
Der mång ord äro, der är icke synden borto; men den sina läppar håller, han är klok.
20 The tongue of the iust man is as fined siluer: but the heart of the wicked is litle worth.
Dens rättfärdigas tunga är kosteligt silfver; men de ogudaktigas hjerta är intet.
21 The lippes of the righteous doe feede many: but fooles shall die for want of wisedome.
Dens rättfärdigas läppar föda många; men de galne skola dö uti deras galenskap.
22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh riche, and he doeth adde no sorowes with it.
Herrans välsignelse gör rikan utan mödo.
23 It is as a pastime to a foole to doe wickedly: but wisedome is vnderstanding to a man.
En dåre bedrifver det ondt är, och gör sig der ett löje af; men den man är vis, som tager der vara uppå.
24 That which the wicked feareth, shall come vpon him: but God wil graunt the desire of the righteous.
Hvad den ogudaktige fruktar, det vederfars honom; och hvad de rättfärdige begära, det varder dem gifvet.
25 As the whirlewinde passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is as an euerlasting foundation.
Den ogudaktige är såsom ett väder, det framom går, och är icke mer till; men den rättfärdige består evigliga.
26 As vineger is to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the slouthful to them that send him.
Såsom ättika gör ondt tandomen, och rök ögonen, så gör en försummelig dem ondt, som sända honom.
27 The feare of the Lord increaseth the dayes: but the yeeres of the wicked shalbe diminished.
Herrans fruktan förmerar dagarna; men de ogudaktigas år varda förkortad.
28 The patient abiding of the righteous shall be gladnesse: but the hope of the wicked shall perish.
Dens rättfardigas väntan skall fröjd varda; men de ogudaktigas hopp skall förtappadt varda.
29 The way of the Lord is strength to the vpright man: but feare shall be for the workers of iniquitie.
Herrans väg är dens frommas tröst; men de ogerningsmän äro blödige.
30 The righteous shall neuer be remooued: but the wicked shall not dwell in the land.
Den rättfärdige varder aldrig nederslagen; men de ogudaktige skola icke blifva i landena.
31 The mouth of the iust shall be fruitfull in wisdome: but the tongue of the froward shall be cut out.
Dens rättfärdigas mun bär fram vishet; men de vrångas mun skall utrotad blifva.
32 The lips of the righteous knowe what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh froward things.
Dens rättfärdigas läppar lära helsosam ting; men de ogudaktigas mun är vrång.
