Proverbs 10
1 THE PARABLE OF SALOMON. A wise sonne maketh a glad father: but a foolish sonne is an heauines to his mother.
Provérbios de Salomão: O filho sábio alegra ao pai; mas o filho tolo é tristeza para sua mãe.
2 The treasures of wickednesse profite nothing: but righteousnesse deliuereth from death.
Tesouros da perversidade para nada aproveitam; porém a justiça livra da morte.
3 The Lord will not famish the soule of the righteous: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
O SENHOR não permite a alma do justo passar fome, porém arruína o interesse dos perversos.
4 A slouthfull hand maketh poore: but the hand of the diligent maketh riche.
Aquele que trabalha com mão preguiçosa empobrece; mas a mão de quem trabalha com empenho enriquece.
5 He that gathereth in sommer, is the sonne of wisdome: but he that sleepeth in haruest, is the sonne of confusion.
Aquele que ajunta no verão é filho prudente; [mas] o que dorme na ceifa é filho causador de vergonha.
6 Blessings are vpon the head of the righteous: but iniquitie shall couer the mouth of the wicked.
Há bênçãos sobre a cabeça dos justos; mas a violência cobre a boca dos perversos.
7 The memoriall of the iust shalbe blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rotte.
A lembrança do justo [será] uma bênção; mas o nome dos perversos apodrecerá.
8 The wise in heart will receiue commandements: but the foolish in talke shalbe beaten.
O sábio de coração aceita os mandamentos; mas o louco de lábios será derrubado.
9 He that walketh vprightly, walketh boldely: but he that peruerteth his wayes, shalbe knowen.
Aquele que anda em sinceridade anda seguro; mas o que perverte seus caminhos será conhecido.
10 He that winketh with the eye, worketh sorowe, and he yet is foolish in talke, shalbe beaten.
Aquele que pisca os olhos maliciosamente gera dores; e o louco de lábios será derrubado.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a welspring of life: but iniquitie couereth the mouth of the wicked.
A boca do justo é um manancial de vida; mas a boca dos perversos está coberta de violência.
12 Hatred stirreth vp contentions: but loue couereth all trespasses.
O ódio desperta brigas; mas o amor cobre todas as transgressões.
13 In the lippes of him that hath vnderstanding wisdome is founde, and a rod shalbe for the backe of him that is destitute of wisedome.
Nos lábios do bom entendedor se acha sabedoria, mas uma vara está às costas daquele que não tem entendimento.
14 Wise men lay vp knowledge: but ye mouth of the foole is a present destruction.
Os sábios guardam consigo sabedoria; mas a boca do tolo [está] perto da perturbação.
15 The riche mans goodes are his strong citie: but the feare of the needie is their pouertie.
A prosperidade do rico é a sua cidade fortificada; a pobreza dos necessitados é sua perturbação.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: but the reuenues of the wicked to sinne.
A obra do justo é para a vida; os frutos do perverso, para o pecado.
17 He that regardeth instruction, is in the way of life: but he that refuseth correction, goeth out of the way.
O caminho para a vida [é d] aquele que guarda a correção; mas aquele que abandona a repreensão anda sem rumo.
18 He that dissembleth hatred with lying lips, and he that inuenteth slaunder, is a foole.
Aquele que esconde o ódio [tem] lábios mentirosos; e o que produz má fama é tolo.
19 In many wordes there cannot want iniquitie: but he that refrayneth his lippes, is wise.
Na abundância de palavras não há falta de transgressão; mas aquele que refreia seus lábios é prudente.
20 The tongue of the iust man is as fined siluer: but the heart of the wicked is litle worth.
A língua do justo [é como] prata escolhida; o coração dos perversos [vale] pouco.
21 The lippes of the righteous doe feede many: but fooles shall die for want of wisedome.
Os lábios dos justo apascentam a muitos; mas os tolos, por falta de entendimento, morrem.
22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh riche, and he doeth adde no sorowes with it.
É a bênção do SENHOR que enriquece; e ele não lhe acrescenta dores.
23 It is as a pastime to a foole to doe wickedly: but wisedome is vnderstanding to a man.
Para o tolo, fazer o mal é uma diversão; mas para o homem bom entendedor, [divertida é] a sabedoria.
24 That which the wicked feareth, shall come vpon him: but God wil graunt the desire of the righteous.
O temor do perverso virá sobre ele, mas o desejo dos justos será concedido.
25 As the whirlewinde passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is as an euerlasting foundation.
Assim como o vento passa, assim também o perverso não [mais] existirá; mas o justo [tem] um alicerce eterno.
26 As vineger is to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the slouthful to them that send him.
Assim como vinagre para os dentes, e como fumaça para os olhos, assim também é o preguiçoso para aqueles que o mandam.
27 The feare of the Lord increaseth the dayes: but the yeeres of the wicked shalbe diminished.
O temor ao SENHOR faz aumentar os dias; mas os anos dos perversos serão encurtados.
28 The patient abiding of the righteous shall be gladnesse: but the hope of the wicked shall perish.
A esperança dos justos [é] alegria; mas a expectativa dos perversos perecerá.
29 The way of the Lord is strength to the vpright man: but feare shall be for the workers of iniquitie.
O caminho do SENHOR é fortaleza para os corretos, mas ruína para os que praticam maldade.
30 The righteous shall neuer be remooued: but the wicked shall not dwell in the land.
O justo nunca será removido, mas os perversos não habitarão a terra.
31 The mouth of the iust shall be fruitfull in wisdome: but the tongue of the froward shall be cut out.
A boca do justo produz sabedoria, mas a língua perversa será cortada fora.
32 The lips of the righteous knowe what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh froward things.
Os lábios do justo sabem o que é agradável; mas a boca dos perversos [é cheia] de perversidades.
