Numbers 32
1 Nowe the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad had an exceeding great multitude of cattell: and they sawe the lande of Iazer, and the lande of Gilead, that it was an apt place for cattel.
૧હવે રુબેનના તથા ગાદના વંશજો પાસે મોટી સંખ્યામાં જાનવરો હતાં. જયારે તેઓએ જોયું કે યાઝેરનો તથા ગિલ્યાદનો દેશ જાનવરો માટે અનુકૂળ જગ્યા છે.
2 Then the children of Gad, and the childre of Reuben came, and spake vnto Moses and to Eleazar the Priest, and vnto the princes of the Congregation, saying,
૨તેથી રુબેન તથા ગાદના વંશજોએ મૂસા, એલાઝાર યાજક તથા સમાજના આગેવાનો પાસે આવીને કહ્યું કે,
3 The land of Ataroth, and Dibon, and Iazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Shebam, and Nebo, and Beon,
૩“અટારોથ, દીબોન, યાઝેર, નિમ્રાહ, હેશ્બોન, એલઆલેહ, સબામ, નબો તથા બેઓન.
4 Which countrey the Lord smote before the Congregation of Israel, is a lande meete for cattell, and thy seruants haue cattell:
૪એટલે ઇઝરાયલી લોકોની આગળ જે દેશ પર યહોવાહે હુમલો કર્યો તે દેશ જાનવરોના માટે ખૂબ અનુકૂળ છે. તારા દાસો પાસે પુષ્કળ પશુસંપત્તિ છે.”
5 Wherefore, said they, if we haue foud grace in thy sight, let this lande be giuen vnto thy seruants for a possession, and bring vs not ouer Iorde.
૫તેઓએ કહ્યું, “જો અમે તારી દ્રષ્ટિમાં કૃપા પામ્યા હોય, તો અમને એટલે તારા દાસોને આ દેશ વતન તરીકે આપ. યર્દન પાર અમને લઈ ન જા.”
6 And Moses said vnto the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren goe to warre, and ye tary heere?
૬મૂસાએ ગાદ તથા રુબેનના વંશજોને કહ્યું, “શું તમારા ભાઈઓ યુદ્ધમાં જાય છે ત્યારે તમે અહીં બેસી રહેશો?
7 Wherefore now discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel, to goe ouer into the lande, which the Lord hath giuen them?
૭ઇઝરાયલી લોકોને જે દેશ યહોવાહે આપ્યો છે તેમાં જવા માટે તેઓનાં હૃદય તમે કેમ નિરાશ કરો છો?
8 Thus did your fathers when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to see the lande.
૮જ્યારે મેં તમારા પિતૃઓને કાદેશ બાર્નેઆથી દેશની જાસૂસી કરવા મોકલ્યા, ત્યારે તેઓએ એમ જ કર્યુ,
9 For when they went vp euen vnto the riuer of Eshcol, and sawe the land: they discouraged the heart of the childre of Israel, that they woulde not goe into the lande, which the Lord had giuen them.
૯જ્યારે તેઓએ એશ્કોલ ખીણમાં જઈને તે દેશ જોયો ત્યારે તેઓએ ઇઝરાયલી લોકોનાં હૃદય નિરાશ કરી નાખ્યાં કે જેથી તેઓ જે દેશ યહોવાહે તેઓને આપ્યો છે તેમાં પ્રવેશ કરે નહિ.
10 And the Lordes wrath was kindled the same day, and he did sweare, saying,
૧૦આથી તે દિવસે યહોવાહ કોપાયમાન થયા. તેમણે સમ ખાઈને કહ્યું કે,
11 None of the men that came out of Egypt from twentie yeere olde and aboue, shall see the land for the which I sware vnto Abraham, to Izhak, and to Iaakob, because they haue not wholly followed me:
૧૧‘વીસ વર્ષના કે તેથી વધારે ઉંમરના જે માણસો મિસર દેશમાંથી બહાર આવ્યા તેઓમાંનો કોઈ પણ જે દેશ વિષે મેં ઇબ્રાહિમ, ઇસહાક તથા યાકૂબ આગળ સમ ખાધા તેને જોવા પામશે નહિ. કેમ કે તેઓ મારી પાછળ પૂરા મનથી ચાલ્યા નથી.
12 Except Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh the Kenesite, and Ioshua the sonne of Nun: for they haue constantly followed the Lord.
૧૨કનિઝી યફૂન્નેનો દીકરો કાલેબ તથા નૂનનો દીકરો યહોશુઆ. ફક્ત કાલેબ તથા યહોશુઆ પૂરા મનથી મારી પાછળ ચાલ્યા હતા.’”
13 And the Lord was very angry with Israel, and made them wander in the wildernesse fourty yeeres, vntill all the generation that had done euill in the sight of the Lord were consumed.
૧૩તેથી ઇઝરાયલ ઉપર યહોવાહ કોપાયમાન થયા. તેમણે તેમને ચાલીસ વર્ષ સુધી, જે પેઢીએ યહોવાહની દ્રષ્ટિમાં ખોટું કર્યું હતું તે બધાનો નાશ થાય ત્યાં સુધી તેઓને અરણ્યમાં ચારે બાજુ ભટકાવ્યા.
14 And behold, ye are risen vp in your fathers steade as an encrease of sinfull men, still to augment the fierce wrath of the Lord, toward Israel.
૧૪જુઓ, તમે પાપી લોકો જેવા, તમારા પિતાઓની જગ્યાએ ઊભા થઈને, ઇઝરાયલ પ્રત્યે યહોવાહનો ગુસ્સો હજી પણ વધુ સળગાવ્યો છે.
15 For if ye turne away from following him, he will yet againe leaue the people in the wildernesse, and ye shall destroy all this folke.
૧૫જો તમે તેની પાછળથી ફરી જશો, તો તેઓ ફરીથી ઇઝરાયલને અરણ્યમાં ભટકતા મૂકી દેશે અને તમારાથી આ બધા લોકોનો નાશ થશે.”
16 And they went neere to him, and said, We will builde sheepe foldes here for our sheepe, and for our cattell, and cities for our children.
૧૬તેથી તેઓએ મૂસાની પાસે આવીને કહ્યું, “અહીં અમને અમારાં ઘેટાંબકરાં માટે વાડા અને અમારા કુટુંબો માટે નગરો બાંધવા દે.
17 But we our selues will be readie armed to go before the children of Israel, vntill we haue brought them vnto their place: but our childre shall dwell in the defenced cities, because of the inhabitants of the lande.
૧૭ત્યાર બાદ અમે જાતે શસ્ત્રસજજ થઈને ઇઝરાયલી લોકોની આગળ રહી તેઓને તેઓની જગ્યાએ પહોંચાડતા સુધી લડીશું. પણ અમારા કુટુંબો આ દેશના રહેવાસીઓને લીધે કિલ્લેબંધીવાળા નગરોમાં રહેશે.
18 We will not returne vnto our houses, vntil the children of Israel haue inherited, euery man his inheritance.
૧૮ઇઝરાયલી લોકોમાંનો દરેક પોતાનો વારસો ન પામે ત્યાં સુધી અમે પોતાના ઘરે પાછા ફરીશું નહિ.
19 Neither wil we inherite with them beyond Iorden and on that side, because our inheritance is fallen to vs on this side Iorden Eastwarde.
૧૯અમે યર્દન નદીને પેલે પારના દેશમાં તેઓની સાથે વારસો નહિ લઈએ, કેમ કે, યર્દન નદીને પૂર્વ કિનારે અમને વારસો મળી ચૂક્યો છે.”
20 And Moses saide vnto them, If ye will doe this thing, and goe armed before the Lord to warre:
૨૦મૂસાએ તેઓને કહ્યું, “જો તમે જે કહ્યું છે તે પ્રમાણે કરશો અને સજ્જ થઈને યહોવાહની આગળ તમે યુદ્ધ માટે જશો.
21 And will goe euery one of you in harnesse ouer Iorden before the Lord, vntill he hath cast out his enemies from his sight:
૨૧જ્યાં સુધી યહોવાહ પોતાના શત્રુઓને પોતાની આગળથી કાઢી મૂકે ત્યાં સુધી તમે શસ્ત્રસજ્જિત માણસો યહોવાહની આગળથી યર્દન પાર જશો.
22 And vntill the land be subdued before the Lord, then ye shall returne and be innocent toward the Lord, and toward Israel: and this land shalbe your possession before the Lord.
૨૨તે દેશ યહોવાહના તાબામાં થાય. ત્યારપછી તમે પાછા આવજો. તમે યહોવાહ તથા ઇઝરાયલ પ્રત્યે નિર્દોષ ઠરશો. યહોવાહની આગળ આ દેશ તમારું વતન થશે.
23 But if ye will not doe so, beholde, ye haue sinned against the Lord, and be sure, that your sinne will finde you out.
૨૩પરંતુ જો તમે તે નહિ કર્યું હોય તો તમે યહોવાહની વિરુદ્ધનું પાપ કર્યું ગણાશે. નિશ્ચે તમારું પાપ તમને પકડી પાડશે.
24 Builde you then cities for your children and folds for your sheepe, and do that ye haue spoke.
૨૪તમારાં કુટુંબો માટે નગરો તથા તમારાં જાનવરો માટે વાડા બાંધો; પછી તમે જે કહ્યું છે તેમ કરો.”
25 Then the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spake vnto Moses, saying, Thy seruats will doe as my lorde commandeth:
૨૫ગાદ તથા રુબેનના વંશજોએ મૂસાને કહ્યું, “અમારા માલિકની આજ્ઞા પ્રમાણે અમે તારા દાસો કરીશું.
26 Our childre, our wiues, our sheepe, and al our cattell shall remaine there in the cities of Gilead,
૨૬અમારાં બાળકો, અમારી સ્ત્રીઓ, અમારાં ઘેટાબકરાં સહિત અમારાં તમામ જાનવરો સહિત અહીં ગિલ્યાદના નગરોમાં રહીશું.
27 But thy seruants will goe euery one armed to warre before the Lord for to fight, as my lorde saith.
૨૭પણ યુદ્ધને માટે સજ્જ થયેલો તારા બધા દાસો મારા માલિકના કહેવા પ્રમાણે યર્દન પાર યહોવાહની સમક્ષ લડાઈ કરવાને જઈશું.”
28 So concerning them, Moses commanded Eleazar the Priest, and Ioshua the sonne of Nun, and the chiefe fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel:
૨૮તેથી મૂસાએ એલાઝાર યાજક, નૂનનો દીકરો યહોશુઆ તથા ઇઝરાયલના કુળના કુટુંબોના આગેવાનોને સૂચના આપીને કહ્યું,
29 And Moses said vnto them, If the children of Gad, and the children of Reuben, will go with you ouer Iorden, all armed to fight before the Lord, then when the land is subdued before you, ye shall giue the the lad of Gilead for a possessio:
૨૯મૂસાએ તેઓને કહ્યું, “જો ગાદના તથા રુબેનના વંશજો યુદ્ધને સારુ હથિયાર સજીને દરેક માણસ યહોવાહની આગળ તમારી સાથે લડાઈ કરવાને યર્દનને પેલે પાર જાય, જો તે દેશ તમારા તાબામાં આવી જાય તો તમે તેઓને ગિલ્યાદનો દેશ વતન તરીકે આપજો.
30 But if they will not goe ouer with you armed, then they shall haue their possessions amog you in the land of Canaan.
૩૦પણ જો તેઓ શસ્ત્રસજ્જ થઈને તમારી સાથે યર્દનને પાર ન જાય તો તેઓને કનાન દેશમાં તમારી મધ્યે વતન મળશે.”
31 And the children of Gad, and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the Lord hath said vnto thy seruants, so will we doe.
૩૧ગાદના તથા રુબેનના વંશજોએ જવાબ આપીને કહ્યું, “જેમ યહોવાહે તારા દાસોને કહ્યું છે તે પ્રમાણે અમે કરીશું.
32 We will goe armed before the Lord into the lande of Canaan: that the possession of our inheritance may be to vs on this side Iorden.
૩૨અમે શસ્ત્રસજ્જ થઈને યહોવાહની આગળ યર્દન પાર કરીને કનાનના દેશમાં જઈશું, પણ યર્દન નદીના પૂર્વ કાંઠે અમારા વારસાની જમીન રહેશે.”
33 So Moses gaue vnto them, euen to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and to halfe the tribe of Manasseh the sonne of Ioseph, the kingdome of Sihon King of the Amorites, and the kingdome of Og King of Bashan, the lande with the cities thereof and coastes, euen the cities of the countrey round about.
૩૩આથી મૂસાએ ગાદના તથા રુબેનના વંશજોને તથા યૂસફના દીકરા મનાશ્શાના અર્ધકુળને અમોરીઓના રાજા સીહોનનું રાજ્ય તથા બાશાનના રાજા ઓગનું રાજ્ય આપ્યું. તેણે તેઓને તે દેશ, તેની સરહદો સાથે તેના બધા નગરો તથા તે દેશની આજુબાજુનાં બધાં નગરો આપ્યાં.
34 Then the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
૩૪ગાદના વંશજોએ દીબોન, અટારોથ, અરોએર,
35 And Atroth, Shophan, and Iazer, and Iogbehah,
૩૫આટ્રોથ-શોફાન, યાઝેર, યોગ્બહાહ,
36 And Beth-nimrah, and Beth-haran, defenced cities: also sheepe foldes.
૩૬બેથ-નિમ્રાહ તથા બેથ-હારાન એ કિલ્લાવાળા નગરો બાંધ્યા તથા ઘેટાંને માટે વાડા બાંધ્યાં.
37 And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kiriathaim,
૩૭રુબેનના વંશજોએ હેશ્બોન, એલઆલેહ, કિર્યાથાઈમ,
38 And Nebo, and Baal-meon, and turned their names, and Shibmah: and gaue other names vnto the cities which they built.
૩૮નબો, બઆલ-મેઓન પછી તેઓના નામ બદલીને તથા સિબ્માહ બાંધ્યાં. જે નગરો તેઓએ બાંધ્યાં તેઓને તેઓએ બીજાં નામ આપ્યાં.
39 And the children of Machir the sonne of Manasseh went to Gilead, and tooke it, and put out the Amorites that dwelt therein.
૩૯મનાશ્શાના દીકરા માખીરના વંશજોએ ગિલ્યાદ જઈને તેને જીતી લીધું અને તેમાં રહેતા અમોરીઓને કાઢી મૂક્યા.
40 Then Moses gaue Gilead vnto Machir the sonne of Manasseh, and he dwelt therein.
૪૦મૂસાએ મનાશ્શાના દીકરા માખીરને ગિલ્યાદ આપ્યું અને તેના લોકો ત્યાં રહ્યા.
41 And Iair the sonne of Manasseh went and tooke the small townes thereof, and called them Hauoth Iair.
૪૧મનાશ્શાના દીકરા યાઈરે ત્યાં જઈને તેનાં નગરો કબજે કરી લીધાં અને તેઓને હાવ્વોથ-યાઈર એવું નામ આપ્યું.
42 Also Nobah went and tooke Kenath, with the villages thereof and called it Nobah, after his owne name.
૪૨નોબાહે કનાથ જઈને તેનાં ગામો કબજે કરી લીધાં. અને તેના પોતાના નામ પરથી તેનું નામ નોબાહ પાડ્યું.
