Numbers 32
1 Nowe the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad had an exceeding great multitude of cattell: and they sawe the lande of Iazer, and the lande of Gilead, that it was an apt place for cattel.
Und die Kinder Ruben und die Kinder Gad hatten viel Vieh, in gewaltiger Menge; und sie sahen das Land Jaser und das Land Gilead, und siehe, der Ort war ein Ort für Vieh.
2 Then the children of Gad, and the childre of Reuben came, and spake vnto Moses and to Eleazar the Priest, and vnto the princes of the Congregation, saying,
Und die Kinder Gad und die Kinder Ruben kamen und sprachen zu Mose und zu Eleasar, dem Priester, und zu den Fürsten der Gemeinde und sagten:
3 The land of Ataroth, and Dibon, and Iazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Shebam, and Nebo, and Beon,
Ataroth und Dibon und Jaser und Nimra und Hesbon und Elale und Sebam und Nebo und Beon,
4 Which countrey the Lord smote before the Congregation of Israel, is a lande meete for cattell, and thy seruants haue cattell:
das Land, welches Jehova vor der Gemeinde Israel geschlagen hat, ist ein Land für Vieh, und deine Knechte haben Vieh.
5 Wherefore, said they, if we haue foud grace in thy sight, let this lande be giuen vnto thy seruants for a possession, and bring vs not ouer Iorde.
Und sie sprachen: Wenn wir Gnade in deinen Augen gefunden haben, so möge dieses Land deinen Knechten zum Eigentum gegeben werden; laß uns nicht über den Jordan ziehen!
6 And Moses said vnto the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren goe to warre, and ye tary heere?
Und Mose sprach zu den Kindern Gad und zu den Kindern Ruben: Sollen eure Brüder in den Streit ziehen, und ihr wollt hier bleiben?
7 Wherefore now discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel, to goe ouer into the lande, which the Lord hath giuen them?
Und warum wollt ihr das Herz der Kinder Israel davon abwendig machen, in das Land hinüber zu ziehen, welches Jehova ihnen gegeben hat?
8 Thus did your fathers when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to see the lande.
So haben eure Väter getan, als ich sie von Kades-Barnea aussandte, das Land zu besehen:
9 For when they went vp euen vnto the riuer of Eshcol, and sawe the land: they discouraged the heart of the childre of Israel, that they woulde not goe into the lande, which the Lord had giuen them.
sie zogen hinauf bis zum Tale Eskol und besahen das Land; und sie machten das Herz der Kinder Israel abwendig, daß sie nicht in das Land gingen, welches Jehova ihnen gegeben hatte.
10 And the Lordes wrath was kindled the same day, and he did sweare, saying,
Und der Zorn Jehovas entbrannte an jenem Tage, und er schwur und sprach:
11 None of the men that came out of Egypt from twentie yeere olde and aboue, shall see the land for the which I sware vnto Abraham, to Izhak, and to Iaakob, because they haue not wholly followed me:
Wenn die Männer, die aus Ägypten hinaufgezogen sind, von zwanzig Jahren und darüber, das Land sehen werden, das ich Abraham und Isaak und Jakob zugeschworen habe! Denn sie sind mir nicht völlig nachgefolgt;
12 Except Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh the Kenesite, and Ioshua the sonne of Nun: for they haue constantly followed the Lord.
ausgenommen Kaleb, der Sohn Jephunnes, der Kenisiter, und Josua, der Sohn Nuns; denn sie sind Jehova völlig nachgefolgt.
13 And the Lord was very angry with Israel, and made them wander in the wildernesse fourty yeeres, vntill all the generation that had done euill in the sight of the Lord were consumed.
Und der Zorn Jehovas entbrannte wider Israel, und er ließ sie vierzig Jahre lang in der Wüste umherirren, bis das ganze Geschlecht aufgerieben war, welches getan hatte, was böse war in den Augen Jehovas.
14 And behold, ye are risen vp in your fathers steade as an encrease of sinfull men, still to augment the fierce wrath of the Lord, toward Israel.
Und siehe, ihr seid aufgestanden an eurer Väter Statt, eine Brut von sündigen Männern, um die Glut des Zornes Jehovas gegen Israel noch zu mehren.
15 For if ye turne away from following him, he will yet againe leaue the people in the wildernesse, and ye shall destroy all this folke.
Wenn ihr euch hinter ihm abwendet, so wird er es noch länger in der Wüste lassen, und ihr werdet dieses ganze Volk verderben.
16 And they went neere to him, and said, We will builde sheepe foldes here for our sheepe, and for our cattell, and cities for our children.
Und sie traten zu ihm und sprachen: Kleinviehhürden wollen wir hier bauen für unsere Herden, und Städte für unsere Kinder;
17 But we our selues will be readie armed to go before the children of Israel, vntill we haue brought them vnto their place: but our childre shall dwell in the defenced cities, because of the inhabitants of the lande.
wir selbst aber wollen uns eilends rüsten vor den Kindern Israel her, bis wir sie an ihren Ort gebracht haben; und unsere Kinder sollen in den festen Städten bleiben vor den Bewohnern des Landes.
18 We will not returne vnto our houses, vntil the children of Israel haue inherited, euery man his inheritance.
Wir wollen nicht zu unseren Häusern zurückkehren, bis die Kinder Israel ein jeder sein Erbteil empfangen haben.
19 Neither wil we inherite with them beyond Iorden and on that side, because our inheritance is fallen to vs on this side Iorden Eastwarde.
Denn wir wollen nicht mit ihnen erben jenseit des Jordan und weiterhin, denn unser Erbteil ist uns diesseit des Jordan gegen Sonnenaufgang zugekommen.
20 And Moses saide vnto them, If ye will doe this thing, and goe armed before the Lord to warre:
Da sprach Mose zu ihnen: Wenn ihr dieses tut, wenn ihr euch vor Jehova zum Streite rüstet,
21 And will goe euery one of you in harnesse ouer Iorden before the Lord, vntill he hath cast out his enemies from his sight:
und alle unter euch, die gerüstet sind, vor Jehova über den Jordan ziehen, bis er seine Feinde vor sich ausgetrieben hat,
22 And vntill the land be subdued before the Lord, then ye shall returne and be innocent toward the Lord, and toward Israel: and this land shalbe your possession before the Lord.
und das Land vor Jehova unterjocht ist, und ihr danach zurückkehret, so sollt ihr schuldlos sein gegen Jehova und gegen Israel; und dieses Land soll euch zum Eigentum sein vor Jehova.
23 But if ye will not doe so, beholde, ye haue sinned against the Lord, and be sure, that your sinne will finde you out.
Wenn ihr aber nicht also tut, siehe, so habt ihr wider Jehova gesündigt; und wisset, daß eure Sünde euch finden wird.
24 Builde you then cities for your children and folds for your sheepe, and do that ye haue spoke.
Bauet euch Städte für eure Kinder und Hürden für euer Kleinvieh, und tut, was aus eurem Munde hervorgegangen ist.
25 Then the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spake vnto Moses, saying, Thy seruats will doe as my lorde commandeth:
Und die Kinder Gad und die Kinder Ruben sprachen zu Mose und sagten: Deine Knechte werden tun, so wie mein Herr gebietet.
26 Our childre, our wiues, our sheepe, and al our cattell shall remaine there in the cities of Gilead,
Unsere Kinder, unsere Weiber, unsere Herden und all unser Vieh sollen daselbst in den Städten Gileads sein;
27 But thy seruants will goe euery one armed to warre before the Lord for to fight, as my lorde saith.
deine Knechte aber, alle zum Heere Gerüsteten, werden vor Jehova hinüberziehen in den Streit, so wie mein Herr redet.
28 So concerning them, Moses commanded Eleazar the Priest, and Ioshua the sonne of Nun, and the chiefe fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel:
Und Mose gebot ihrethalben Eleasar, dem Priester, und Josua, dem Sohne Nuns, und den Häuptern der Väter der Stämme der Kinder Israel;
29 And Moses said vnto them, If the children of Gad, and the children of Reuben, will go with you ouer Iorden, all armed to fight before the Lord, then when the land is subdued before you, ye shall giue the the lad of Gilead for a possessio:
und Mose sprach zu ihnen: Wenn die Kinder Gad und die Kinder Ruben, alle zum Streit Gerüsteten, mit euch vor Jehova über den Jordan ziehen, und das Land vor euch unterjocht sein wird, so sollt ihr ihnen das Land Gilead zum Eigentum geben;
30 But if they will not goe ouer with you armed, then they shall haue their possessions amog you in the land of Canaan.
wenn sie aber nicht gerüstet mit euch hinüberziehen, so sollen sie sich unter euch ansässig machen im Lande Kanaan.
31 And the children of Gad, and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the Lord hath said vnto thy seruants, so will we doe.
Und die Kinder Gad und die Kinder Ruben antworteten und sprachen: Wie Jehova zu deinen Knechten geredet hat, so wollen wir tun.
32 We will goe armed before the Lord into the lande of Canaan: that the possession of our inheritance may be to vs on this side Iorden.
Wir wollen gerüstet vor Jehova in das Land Kanaan hinüberziehen, und unser Erbbesitztum verbleibe uns diesseit des Jordan.
33 So Moses gaue vnto them, euen to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and to halfe the tribe of Manasseh the sonne of Ioseph, the kingdome of Sihon King of the Amorites, and the kingdome of Og King of Bashan, the lande with the cities thereof and coastes, euen the cities of the countrey round about.
Und Mose gab ihnen, den Kindern Gad und den Kindern Ruben und der Hälfte des Stammes Manasse, des Sohnes Josephs, das Königreich Sihons, des Königs der Amoriter, und das Königreich Ogs, des Königs von Basan, das Land nach seinen Städten in ihren Grenzen, die Städte des Landes ringsum.
34 Then the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
Und die Kinder Gad bauten Dibon und Ataroth und Aroer,
35 And Atroth, Shophan, and Iazer, and Iogbehah,
und Ateroth-Schofan und Jaser und Jogbeha,
36 And Beth-nimrah, and Beth-haran, defenced cities: also sheepe foldes.
und Beth-Nimra und Beth-Haran, feste Städte und Kleinviehhürden.
37 And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kiriathaim,
Und die Kinder Ruben bauten Hesbon und Elale und Kirjathaim,
38 And Nebo, and Baal-meon, and turned their names, and Shibmah: and gaue other names vnto the cities which they built.
und Nebo und Baal-Meon, deren Namen geändert wurden, und Sibma; und sie benannten die Städte, die sie bauten, mit anderen Namen. -
39 And the children of Machir the sonne of Manasseh went to Gilead, and tooke it, and put out the Amorites that dwelt therein.
Und die Söhne Makirs, des Sohnes Manasses, zogen nach Gilead und nahmen es ein; und sie trieben die Amoriter, die darin wohnten, aus.
40 Then Moses gaue Gilead vnto Machir the sonne of Manasseh, and he dwelt therein.
Und Mose gab Gilead dem Makir, dem Sohne Manasses; und er wohnte darin.
41 And Iair the sonne of Manasseh went and tooke the small townes thereof, and called them Hauoth Iair.
Und Jair, der Sohn Manasses, zog hin und nahm ihre Dörfer ein und nannte sie Dörfer Jairs.
42 Also Nobah went and tooke Kenath, with the villages thereof and called it Nobah, after his owne name.
Und Nobach zog hin und nahm Kenath und seine Tochterstädte ein und nannte es Nobach nach seinem Namen.
