Numbers 27
1 Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the sonne of Hepher, the sonne of Gilead, the sonne of Machir, the sonne of Manasseh, of the familie of Manasseh, the sonne of Ioseph (and the names of his daughters were these, Mahlah, Noah and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah)
യോസേഫിന്റെ മകനായ മനശ്ശെയുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങളിൽ മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ മാഖീരിന്റെ മകനായ ഗിലെയാദിന്റെ മകനായ ഹേഫെരിന്റെ മകനായ സെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ പുത്രിമാർ, മഹ്ലാ, നോവാ, ഹൊഗ്ലാ, മിൽക്കാ, തിർസാ എന്നിവർ ആയിരുന്നു.
2 And stoode before Moses, and before Eleazar the Priest, and before the Princes, and all the assemblie, at the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, saying,
അവർ സമാഗമകൂടാരത്തിന്റെ കവാടത്തിൽ വന്ന്, മോശ, പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാർ, പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ എന്നിവരുടെയും സർവസഭയുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ നിന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു:
3 Our father dyed in the wildernes, and he was not among the assemblie of them that were assembled against the Lord in the companie of Korah, but died in his sinne, and had no sonnes.
“ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവ് മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ച് മരിച്ചു. യഹോവയ്ക്കെതിരേ മത്സരിച്ച കോരഹിന്റെ അനുയായികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. അദ്ദേഹം സ്വന്തപാപത്തിലാണ് മരിച്ചത്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു പുത്രന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.
4 Wherefore should the name of our father be taken away from among his familie, because he hath no sonne? giue vs a possession among the brethren of our father.
ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിനു പുത്രന്മാർ ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നതിനാൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പേര് തന്റെ കുടുംബത്തിൽനിന്നും നീക്കപ്പെടുന്നതെന്തിന്? ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ ബന്ധുക്കളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരവകാശം തരണം.”
5 Then Moses brought their cause before the Lord.
അങ്ങനെ മോശ അവരുടെ കാര്യം യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
6 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
യഹോവ മോശയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു:
7 The daughters of Zelophehad speake right: thou shalt giue them a possession to inherite among their fathers brethren, and shalt turne the inheritance of their father vnto them.
“സെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ പുത്രിമാർ പറയുന്ന കാര്യം ശരിയാണ്. നീ നിശ്ചയമായും അവർക്ക് അവരുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ ബന്ധുക്കളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരവകാശം നൽകണം. അവരുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഓഹരി അവർക്കു നൽകണം.
8 Also thou shalt speake vnto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die and haue no sonne, then ye shall turne his inheritaunce vnto his daughter.
“ഇസ്രായേല്യരോടു പറയുക: ‘ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ മരിക്കുകയും തനിക്കു പുത്രന്മാരില്ലാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ അയാളുടെ ഓഹരി പുത്രിമാർക്കു കൊടുക്കണം.
9 And if he haue no daughter, ye shall giue his inheritance vnto his brethren.
അവനു പുത്രിമാരില്ലെങ്കിൽ അവന്റെ ഓഹരി തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്കു കൊടുക്കണം.
10 And if he haue no brethren, ye shall giue his inheritance vnto his fathers brethren.
അവനു സഹോദരന്മാരില്ലെങ്കിൽ അവന്റെ ഓഹരി തന്റെ പിതൃസഹോദരന്മാർക്കു കൊടുക്കണം.
11 And if his father haue no brethren, ye shall giue his inheritance vnto his next kinsman of his familie, and he shall possesse it: and this shall be vnto the children of Israel a law of iudgement, as the Lord hath commanded Moses.
അവന്റെ പിതാവിന് സഹോദരന്മാരില്ലെങ്കിൽ അവന്റെ ഓഹരി തന്റെ കുടുംബത്തിലെ അടുത്ത ബന്ധുവിനു കൊടുക്കണം. ഇതു യഹോവ മോശയോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്ക് ഒരു നിയമവും ചട്ടവുമായിരിക്കണം.’”
12 Againe the Lord said vnto Moses, Go vp into this mount of Abarim, and behold ye lande which I haue giuen vnto the children of Israel.
ഇതിനുശേഷം യഹോവ മോശയോട്, “അബാരീംനിരയിലുള്ള ഈ പർവതത്തിൽ കയറി ഞാൻ ഇസ്രായേല്യർക്കു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശം കാണുക.
13 And when thou hast seene it, thou shalt be gathered vnto thy people also, as Aaron thy brother was gathered.
നീ അതു കണ്ടശേഷം നീയും നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അഹരോനെപ്പോലെ നിന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേർക്കപ്പെടും.
14 For ye were disobedient vnto my worde in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the assemblie, to sanctifie me in the waters before their eyes. That is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wildernesse of Zin.
സീൻ മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ച് വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിൽ എന്നെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കാനുള്ള എന്റെ കൽപ്പനയോടു നിങ്ങൾ മത്സരിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സീൻമരുഭൂമിയിൽ കാദേശിലെ മെരീബാജലാശയം ഇതുതന്നെ.
15 Then Moses spake vnto the Lord, saying,
മോശ യഹോവയോട്,
16 Let the Lord God of the spirits of all flesh appoint a man ouer the Congregation,
“യഹോവയുടെ ജനം ഇടയനില്ലാത്ത ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ ആകാതിരിക്കാൻ, അവർക്കുമുമ്പാകെ പോകാനും വരാനും പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോകാനും അകത്തുകൊണ്ടുവരാനും സകലജഡത്തിന്റെയും ആത്മാക്കളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, ഈ സഭയുടെമേൽ ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ നിയമിച്ചാലും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
17 Who may goe out and in before them, and leade them out and in, that the Congregation of the Lord be not as sheepe, which haue not a shepheard.
18 And the Lord said vnto Moses, Take thee Ioshua the sonne of Nun, in whom is the Spirite, and put thine handes vpon him,
അതുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവ മോശയോട്: “നൂന്റെ മകനും, എന്റെ ആത്മാവുള്ള പുരുഷനുമായ യോശുവയെ വിളിച്ച് നിന്റെ കൈ അവന്റെമേൽ വെക്കുക.
19 And set him before Eleazar the Priest, and before all the Congregation, and giue him a charge in their sight.
അവനെ പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാരിന്റെയും സർവസഭയുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ നിർത്തി അവരുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ അവനെ അധികാരം ഏൽപ്പിക്കുക.
20 And giue him of thy glory, that all the Congregation of ye children of Israel may obey.
നിന്റെ അധികാരത്തിൽ കുറെ അവനു കൊടുക്കുക. അങ്ങനെ ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സഭമുഴുവനും അവനെ അനുസരിക്കും.
21 And he shall stande before Eleazar the Priest, who shall aske counsell for him by the iudgement of Vrim before the Lord: at his worde they shall goe out, and at his worde they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him and all the Congregation.
അവൻ പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാരിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിൽക്കണം. യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ ഊറീം മുഖാന്തരം അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ അദ്ദേഹം അവനുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള തീരുമാനങ്ങൾ അറിയും. അവന്റെ കൽപ്പനയിങ്കൽ അയാളും ഇസ്രായേല്യരുടെ സർവസമൂഹവും പുറത്തുപോകുകയും അയാളുടെ കൽപ്പനയിങ്കൽ അവർ അകത്തുവരികയും ചെയ്യും.”
22 So Moses did as the Lord had commanded him, and he tooke Ioshua, and set him before Eleazar the Priest, and before all the Congregation.
യഹോവ തന്നോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശ ചെയ്തു. അദ്ദേഹം യോശുവയെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാരിന്റെയും സർവസഭയുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ നിർത്തി.
23 Then he put his handes vpon him, and gaue him a charge, as the Lord had spoken by the hand of Moses.
യഹോവ മോശയോടു നിർദേശിച്ചപ്രകാരം അവന്റെമേൽ കൈവെച്ച് ജനത്തെ നയിക്കാനുള്ള അധികാരം ഏൽപ്പിച്ചു.
