Numbers 27

1 Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the sonne of Hepher, the sonne of Gilead, the sonne of Machir, the sonne of Manasseh, of the familie of Manasseh, the sonne of Ioseph (and the names of his daughters were these, Mahlah, Noah and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah)

Herzu traten die Töchter Selophchads, des Sohnes Chephers, des Enkels Gileads, des Sohnes Makirs, des Enkels Manasses, von den Sippen Manasses, des Josephsohnes. Seine Töchter hießen Machla, Noa, Chogla, Milka und Tirsa.

2 And stoode before Moses, and before Eleazar the Priest, and before the Princes, and all the assemblie, at the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, saying,

Sie traten vor Moses und vor den Priester Eleazar, vor die Fürsten und die Gesamtgemeinde vor der Pforte des Festgezeltes mit den Worten:

3 Our father dyed in the wildernes, and he was not among the assemblie of them that were assembled against the Lord in the companie of Korah, but died in his sinne, and had no sonnes.

"Unser Vater ist in der Wüste gestorben. Doch er ist nicht bei der Rotte gewesen, die sich gegen den Herrn zusammenrottete, bei der Rotte Korachs. Er ist um seiner eigenen Sünde willen gestorben. Er hatte aber keine Söhne gehabt.

4 Wherefore should the name of our father be taken away from among his familie, because he hath no sonne? giue vs a possession among the brethren of our father.

Warum soll unseres Vaters Namen aus seiner Sippe getilgt werden, bloß, weil er keinen Sohn hat? Gib uns Besitztum unter unseres Vaters Brüdern"

5 Then Moses brought their cause before the Lord.

Und Moses brachte ihre Rechtssache vor den Herrn.

6 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

Da sprach der Herr zu Moses also:

7 The daughters of Zelophehad speake right: thou shalt giue them a possession to inherite among their fathers brethren, and shalt turne the inheritance of their father vnto them.

"Selophchads Töchter haben recht geredet. Gib ihnen unter ihres Vaters Brüdern einen Besitz und überweise ihnen ihres Vaters Besitz!

8 Also thou shalt speake vnto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die and haue no sonne, then ye shall turne his inheritaunce vnto his daughter.

Und zu den Söhnen Israels sprich so: 'Stirbt ein Mann und hat keinen Sohn, dann überweist seiner Tochter seinen Besitz!

9 And if he haue no daughter, ye shall giue his inheritance vnto his brethren.

Hat er aber keine Tochter, so gebt seinen Besitz seinen Brüdern!

10 And if he haue no brethren, ye shall giue his inheritance vnto his fathers brethren.

Hat er aber keine Brüder, so gebt seinen Besitz den Brüdern seines Vaters!

11 And if his father haue no brethren, ye shall giue his inheritance vnto his next kinsman of his familie, and he shall possesse it: and this shall be vnto the children of Israel a law of iudgement, as the Lord hath commanded Moses.

Hat aber sein Vater keine Brüder, so gebt sein Besitztum seinem Blutsverwandten in seiner Sippe, daß er es erbe! Das sei den Israeliten Rechtssatzung, wie der Herr dem Moses geboten hat.'"

12 Againe the Lord said vnto Moses, Go vp into this mount of Abarim, and behold ye lande which I haue giuen vnto the children of Israel.

Und der Herr sprach zu Moses: "Steig auf die Uferberge hier! Beschaue das Land, das ich den Söhnen Israels gebe!

13 And when thou hast seene it, thou shalt be gathered vnto thy people also, as Aaron thy brother was gathered.

Hast du es gesehen, dann wirst du zu deinen Stammesgenossen aufgenommen, wie dein Bruder Aaron aufgenommen worden ist,

14 For ye were disobedient vnto my worde in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the assemblie, to sanctifie me in the waters before their eyes. That is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wildernesse of Zin.

weil ihr meinem Worte in der Wüste Sin widersprochen habt, als die Gemeinde haderte und ihr mich vor ihren Augen durch das Wasser hättet rechtfertigen sollen. Das ist das Haderwasser bei Kades in der Wüste Sin."

15 Then Moses spake vnto the Lord, saying,

Und Moses sprach zum Herrn:

16 Let the Lord God of the spirits of all flesh appoint a man ouer the Congregation,

"Der Herr, der Gott der Geister in allem Fleisch, bestelle über die Gemeinde einen Mann,

17 Who may goe out and in before them, and leade them out and in, that the Congregation of the Lord be not as sheepe, which haue not a shepheard.

der vor ihnen ausziehe und vor ihnen heimkomme und sie aus- und heimführe, daß des Herrn Gemeinde nicht sei wie Schafe ohne Hirten!"

18 And the Lord said vnto Moses, Take thee Ioshua the sonne of Nun, in whom is the Spirite, and put thine handes vpon him,

Da sprach der Herr zu Moses: "Wähle dir Josue, den Sohn des Nun! Das ist ein Mann, in dem Geist ist. Leg deine Hand auf ihn!

19 And set him before Eleazar the Priest, and before all the Congregation, and giue him a charge in their sight.

Stelle ihn dem Priester Eleazar und der Gemeinde vor und bestelle ihn vor ihren Augen!

20 And giue him of thy glory, that all the Congregation of ye children of Israel may obey.

Leg von deiner Würde auf ihn, damit die ganze israelitische Gemeinde gehorche!

21 And he shall stande before Eleazar the Priest, who shall aske counsell for him by the iudgement of Vrim before the Lord: at his worde they shall goe out, and at his worde they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him and all the Congregation.

Vor den Priester Eleazar trete er, daß dieser vor dem Herrn die Entscheidung der Lose für ihn befrage! Auf sein Geheiß sollen sie ausziehen und auf sein Geheiß heimkommen, er und alle Söhne Israels, die Gesamtgemeinde!"

22 So Moses did as the Lord had commanded him, and he tooke Ioshua, and set him before Eleazar the Priest, and before all the Congregation.

Da tat Moses, wie ihm der Herr befohlen hatte. Er wählte Josue und stellte ihn dem Priester Eleazar und der ganzen Gemeinde vor.

23 Then he put his handes vpon him, and gaue him a charge, as the Lord had spoken by the hand of Moses.

Dann legte er ihm seine Hände auf und setzte ihn ein, wie es der Herr durch Moses angeordnet hatte.
