Numbers 17
1 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
POI il Signore parlò a Mosè, dicendo:
2 Speake vnto the children of Israel, and take of euery one of them a rod, after the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the familie of their fathers, euen twelue rods: and thou shalt write euery mans name vpon his rod.
Parla a' figliuoli d'Israele, e prendi da loro una verga per ciascuna nazione paterna; dodici verghe, da tutti i capi delle lor nazioni paterne; [e] scrivi il nome di ciascum [d'essi] sopra la sua verga.
3 And write Aarons name vpon the rod of Leui: for euery rodde shalbe for the head of the house of their fathers.
E scrivi il nome di Aaronne sopra la verga di Levi; perciocchè [v'ha da essere] una verga per ciascun capo di nazione paterna.
4 And thou shalt put them in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, before the Arke of the Testimonie, where I wil declare my selfe to you.
Poi riponi quelle [verghe] nel Tabernacolo della convenenza, davanti alla Testimonianza, dove io mi ritrovo con voi.
5 And the mans rod, whome I chuse, shall blossome: and I will make cease from mee the grudgings of the children of Israel, which grudge against you.
E avverrà che la verga di colui che io avrò eletto germoglierà; e così acqueterò d'attorno a me i mormorii de' figliuoli d'Israele, co' quali mormorano contro a voi.
6 Then Moses spake vnto the children of Israel, and al their princes gaue him a rod, one rod for euery Prince, according to the houses of their fathers, euen twelue rods, and the rod of Aaron was among their roddes.
Mosè adunque parlò a' figliuoli d'Israele; e tutti i lor capi gli diedero una verga per ciascun capo delle lor nazioni paterne, [che furono] dodici verghe; e la verga d'Aaronne [era] per mezzo le lor verghe.
7 And Moses layde the rods before the Lord in the Tabernacle of the Testimonie.
E Mosè ripose quelle verghe davanti al Signore, nel Tabernacolo della Testimonianza.
8 And when Moses on the morow went into the Tabernacle of the Testimonie, beholde, the rod of Aaron for the house of Leui was budded, and brought forth buddes, and brought forth blossoms, and bare ripe almondes.
E il giorno seguente, essendo Mosè entrato nel Tabernacolo della Testimonianza, ecco, la verga d'Aaronne, [ch'era] per la nazione di Levi, era germogliata; e avea messe gemme, e prodotti fiori, e maturate delle mandorle.
9 Then Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord vnto all the children of Israel: and they looked vpon them, and tooke euery man his rodde.
E Mosè trasse fuori tutte quelle verghe d'innanzi al Signore, [e le recò] a tutti i figliuoli d'Israele; i quali [le] videro, e ciascuno prese la sua verga.
10 After, the Lord said vnto Moses, Bring Aarons rod againe before the Testimonie to bee kept for a token to the rebellious children, and thou shalt cause their murmurings to cease from me, that they dye not.
E il Signore disse a Mosè: Riporta la verga d'Aaronne davanti alla Testimonianza; acciocchè sia guardata per segnale a' ribelli; e così fa' restar d'attorno a me i lor mormorii; che talora non muoiano.
11 So Moses did as the Lord had commanded him: so did he.
E Mosè fece così; come il Signore gli avea comandato, così fece.
12 And the children of Israel spake vnto Moses, saying, Behold, we are dead, we perish, we are all lost:
E i figliuoli d'Israele dissero a Mosè: Ecco, noi siam morti, noi siam perduti, noi tutti siam perduti.
13 Whosoeuer commeth neere, or approcheth to the Tabernacle of the Lord, shall dye: shall we be consumed and dye?
Chiunque si accosta al Tabernacolo del Signore muore; morremo noi tutti quanti?
