Numbers 17
1 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
Après cela l'Eternel parla à Moïse, en disant:
2 Speake vnto the children of Israel, and take of euery one of them a rod, after the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the familie of their fathers, euen twelue rods: and thou shalt write euery mans name vpon his rod.
Parle aux enfants d'Israël, et prends une verge de chacun d'eux selon la maison de leur père, de tous ceux qui sont les principaux d'entr'eux selon la maison de leurs pères, douze verges, puis tu écriras le nom de chacun sur sa verge.
3 And write Aarons name vpon the rod of Leui: for euery rodde shalbe for the head of the house of their fathers.
Mais tu écriras le nom d'Aaron sur la verge de Lévi; car il y aura une verge pour chaque chef de la maison de leurs pères.
4 And thou shalt put them in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, before the Arke of the Testimonie, where I wil declare my selfe to you.
Et tu les poseras au Tabernacle d'assignation devant le Témoignage, où j'ai accoutumé de me trouver avec vous.
5 And the mans rod, whome I chuse, shall blossome: and I will make cease from mee the grudgings of the children of Israel, which grudge against you.
Et il arrivera que la verge de l'homme que j'aurai choisi, fleurira; et je ferai cesser de devant moi les murmures des enfants d'Israël, par lesquels ils murmurent contre vous.
6 Then Moses spake vnto the children of Israel, and al their princes gaue him a rod, one rod for euery Prince, according to the houses of their fathers, euen twelue rods, and the rod of Aaron was among their roddes.
Quand Moïse eut parlé aux enfants d'Israël, tous les principaux d'entr'eux lui donnèrent selon la maison de leurs pères, chacun une verge. Ainsi il y eut douze verges. Or la verge d'Aaron fut mise parmi leurs verges.
7 And Moses layde the rods before the Lord in the Tabernacle of the Testimonie.
Et Moïse mit les verges devant l'Eternel au Tabernacle du Témoignage.
8 And when Moses on the morow went into the Tabernacle of the Testimonie, beholde, the rod of Aaron for the house of Leui was budded, and brought forth buddes, and brought forth blossoms, and bare ripe almondes.
Et il arriva dès le lendemain, que Moïse étant entré au Tabernacle du Témoignage, voici, la verge d'Aaron avait fleuri pour la maison de Lévi, et elle avait jeté des fleurs, produit des boutons, et mûri des amandes.
9 Then Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord vnto all the children of Israel: and they looked vpon them, and tooke euery man his rodde.
Alors Moïse tira hors de devant l'Eternel toutes les verges, et les porta à tous les enfants d'Israël, et les ayant vues, ils reprirent chacun leurs verges.
10 After, the Lord said vnto Moses, Bring Aarons rod againe before the Testimonie to bee kept for a token to the rebellious children, and thou shalt cause their murmurings to cease from me, that they dye not.
Et l'Eternel dit à Moïse: Reporte la verge d'Aaron devant le Témoignage, pour être gardée comme un signe aux enfants de rébellion; et tu feras cesser leurs murmures de devant moi, et ainsi ils ne mourront plus.
11 So Moses did as the Lord had commanded him: so did he.
Et Moïse fit comme l'Eternel lui avait commandé; il fit ainsi.
12 And the children of Israel spake vnto Moses, saying, Behold, we are dead, we perish, we are all lost:
Et les enfants d'Israël parlèrent à Moïse, en disant: Voici, nous défaillons, nous sommes perdus, nous sommes tous perdus.
13 Whosoeuer commeth neere, or approcheth to the Tabernacle of the Lord, shall dye: shall we be consumed and dye?
Quiconque s'approche du pavillon de l'Eternel, mourra; serons-nous tous entièrement consumés?
