Numbers 16
1 Nowe Korah the sonne of Izhar, the sonne of Kohath, the sonne of Leui went apart with Dathan, and Abiram the sonnes of Eliab, and On the sonne of Peleth, the sonnes of Reuben:
Och Kora, son till Jishar, son till Kehat, son till Levi, samt Datan och Abiram, Eliabs söner, och On, Pelets son, av Rubens söner, dessa togo till sig folk
2 And they rose vp against Moses, with certaine of the children of Israel, two hundreth and fiftie captaines of the assemblie, famous in the Congregation, and men of renoume,
och gjorde uppror emot Mose; och dem följde två hundra femtio män av Israels barn, hövdingar i menigheten, ombud i folkförsamlingen, ansedda män.
3 Who gathered themselues together against Moses, and against Aaron, and sayde vnto them, Ye take too much vpon you, seeing all the Congregation is holie, euery one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherfore then lift ye your selues aboue the Congregation of the Lord?
Och de församlade sig emot Mose och Aron och sade till dem: "Nu må det vara nog. Hela menigheten är ju helig, alla äro det, och HERREN är mitt ibland dem; varför upphäven I eder då över HERRENS församling?"
4 But when Moses heard it, hee fell vpon his face,
När Mose hörde detta, föll han ned på sitt ansikte.
5 And spake to Korah and vnto all his companie, saying, To morow the Lord will shew who is his, and who is holy, and who ought to approche neere vnto him: and whom he hath chosen, hee will cause to come neere to him.
Sedan talade han till Kora och hela hans hop och sade: "I morgon skall HERREN göra kunnigt vem som hör honom till, och vem som är den helige åt vilken han giver tillträde till sig. Och den han utväljer, honom skall han giva tillträde till sig.
6 This doe therefore, Take you censers, both Korah, and all his companie,
Gören nu på detta sätt: tagen edra fyrfat, du Kora och hela din hop,
7 And put fire therein, and put incense in the before the Lord to morowe: and the man whome the Lord doeth chuse, the same shalbe holie: ye take too much vpon you, ye sonnes of Leui.
och läggen eld i dem och strön rökelse på dem inför HERRENS ansikte i morgon; den man som HERREN då utväljer, han är den helige. Ja, nu må det vara nog, I Levi söner."
8 Againe Moses saide vnto Korah, Heare, I pray you, ye sonnes of Leui.
Ytterligare sade Mose till Kora: Hören nu, I Levi söner.
9 Seemeth it a small thing vnto you that the God of Israel hath separated you from the multitude of Israel, to take you neere to himselfe, to doe the seruice of the Tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the Congregation and to minister vnto them?
Är det eder icke nog att Israels Gud har avskilt eder från Israels menighet och givit eder tillträde till sig, så att I fån förrätta tjänsten i HERRENS tabernakel och stå inför menigheten och betjäna den?
10 He hath also taken thee to him, and all thy brethren the sonnes of Leui with thee, and seeke ye the office of the Priest also?
Åt dig, och åt alla dina bröder, Levi söner, jämte dig, har han givit tillträde till sig; och nu stån I också efter prästadömet!
11 For which cause, thou, and all thy companie are gathered together against the Lord: and what is Aaron, that ye murmure against him?
Därför, tagen eder till vara, du och hela din hop, I som haven rotat eder samman mot HERREN -- ty vad är Aron, att I knorren mot honom?"
12 And Moses sent to call Dathan, and Abiram the sonnes of Eliab: who answered, We will not come vp.
Och Mose sände och lät kalla till sig Datan och Abiram, Eliabs söner. Men de sade: "vi komma icke.
13 Is it a small thing that thou hast brought vs out of a lande that floweth with milke and honie, to kill vs in the wildernesse, except thou make thy selfe lord and ruler ouer vs also?
Är det icke nog att du har fört oss hitupp ur ett land som flöt av mjölk och honung, för att låta oss dö I öknen? Vill du nu ock upphäva dig till herre över oss?
14 Also thou hast not brought vs vnto a land that floweth with milke and honie, neither giuen vs inheritance of fieldes and vineyardes: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come vp.
Ingalunda har du fört oss in i ett land som flyter av mjölk och honung, eller givit oss åkrar och vingårdar till arvedel. Eller tror du att du kan sticka ut ögonen på dessa människor? Nej, vi komma icke."
15 Then Moses waxed verie angry, and saide vnto the Lord, Looke not vnto their offring: I haue not taken so much as an asse from them, neither haue I hurt any of them.
Då blev Mose mycket vred och sade till HERREN: "Se icke till deras offergåva. Icke så mycket som en enda åsna har jag tagit av dem, och ingen av dem har jag gjort något ont."
16 And Moses said vnto Korah, Bee thou and al thy companie before the Lord: both thou, they, and Aaron to morowe:
Och Mose sade till Kora: "Du och hela din hop mån inställa eder inför HERRENS ansikte i morgon, du själv och de, så ock Aron.
17 And take euery man his censor, and put incense in them, and bring ye euery man his censor before the Lord, two hundreth and fiftie censors: thou also and Aaron, euery one his censor.
Och var och en av eder må taga sitt fyrfat och lägga rökelse därpå, och sedan bära sitt fyrfat fram inför HERRENS ansikte, två hundra femtio fyrfat; du själv och Aron mån ock taga var sitt fyrfat."
18 So they tooke euery man his censor, and put fire in them, and laide incense thereon, and stoode in the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation with Moses and Aaron.
Och de togo var och en sitt fyrfat och lade eld därpå och strödde rökelse därpå, och ställde sig vid ingången till uppenbarelsetältet; och Mose och Aron likaså.
19 And Korah gathered all the multitude against them vnto the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation: then the glorie of the Lord appeared vnto all the Congregation.
Och Kora församlade mot dem hela menigheten vid ingången till uppenbarelsetältet. Då visade sig HERRENS härlighet för hela menigheten.
20 And the Lord spake vnto Moses and to Aaron, saying,
och HERREN talade till Mose och Aron och sade:
21 Separate your selues from among this Cogregation, that I may consume them at once.
"Skiljen eder från denna menighet, så skall jag i ett ögonblick förgöra dem."
22 And they fell vpon their faces and saide, O God the God of the spirits, of all fleshe, hath not one man onely sinned, and wilt thou bee wroth with all the Congregation?
Då föllo de ned på sina ansikten och sade: "O Gud, du Gud som råder över allt kötts anda, skall du förtörnas på hela menigheten, därför att en enda man syndar?"
23 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
Då talade HERREN till Mose och sade:
24 Speake vnto the Congregation and say, Get you away from about the Tabernacle of Korah, Dathan and Abiram.
"Tala till menigheten och säg: Dragen eder bort ifrån platsen runt omkring Koras, Datans och Abirams lägerställe."
25 Then Moses rose vp, and went vnto Dathan and Abiram, and the Elders of Israel followed him.
Och Mose stod upp och gick till Datan och Abiram, och de äldste i Israel följde honom.
26 And he spake vnto the Congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tentes of these wicked men, and touche nothing of theirs, lest ye perish in all their sinnes.
Och han talade till menigheten och sade: "Viken bort ifrån dessa ogudaktiga människors tält, och kommen icke vid något som tillhör dem, på det att I icke mån förgås genom alla deras synder."
27 So they gate them away from the Tabernacle of Korah, Dathan and Abiram on euerie side: and Dathan, and Abiram came out and stood in the doore of their tentes with their wiues, and their sonnes, and their little children.
Då drogo de sig bort ifrån platsen runt omkring Koras, Datans och Abirams lägerställe; men Datan och Abiram hade gått ut och ställt sig vid ingången till sina tält med sina hustrur och barn, både stora och små.
28 And Moses saide, Hereby yee shall knowe that the Lord hath sent me to do all these works: for I haue not done them of mine owne minde.
Och Mose sade: "Därav skolen I förnimma att det är HERREN som har sänt mig för att göra alla dessa gärningar, och att jag icke har handlat efter eget tycke:
29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men, the Lord hath not sent me.
om dessa dö på samma sätt som andra människor dö, eller drabbas av hemsökelse på samma sätt som andra människor, så har HERREN icke sänt mig;
30 But if the Lord make a newe thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallowe them vp with all that they haue, and they goe downe quicke into ye pit, then ye shall vnderstand that these men haue prouoked the Lord. (Sheol h7585)
men om HERREN här låter något alldeles nytt ske, i det att marken öppnar sin mun och uppslukar dem med allt vad de hava, så att de levande fara ned i dödsriket, då skolen I därav veta att dessa människor hava föraktat HERREN." (Sheol h7585)
31 And assoone as he had made an ende of speaking all these wordes, euen the ground claue asunder that was vnder them,
Och just som han hade slutat att tala allt detta, rämnade marken under dem,
32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them vp, with their families, and all the men that were with Korah, and all their goods.
och jorden öppnade sin mun och uppslukade dem och deras hus och allt Koras folk och alla deras ägodelar;
33 So they and all that they had, went down aliue into the pit, and the earth couered them: so they perished from among the Congregation. (Sheol h7585)
och de foro levande ned i dödsriket, de med allt vad de hade, och jorden övertäckte dem, och så utrotades de ur församlingen. (Sheol h7585)
34 And all Israel that were about them, fled at the crie of them: for they said, Let vs flee, least the earth swalow vs vp.
Och hela Israel, som stod runt omkring dem, flydde vid deras rop, ty de fruktade att bliva uppslukade av jorden.
35 But there came out a fire from the Lord, and consumed the two hundreth and fiftie men that offred the incense.
Men eld gick ut från HERREN och förtärde de två hundra femtio männen som hade burit fram rökelse.
36 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
Och HERREN talade till Mose och sade:
37 Speake vnto Eleazar, the sonne of Aaron the Priest, that he take vp the censers out of the burning, and scatter the fire beyond the altar: for they are halowed,
"Säg till Eleasar, prästen Arons son, att han skall taga fyrfaten ut ur branden, men kasta ut elden i dem långt bort,
38 The censers, I say, of these sinners, that destroyed themselues: and let them make of them broade plates for a couering of the Altar: for they offered them before the Lord, therefore they shalbe holy, and they shall be a signe vnto the children of Israel.
ty de hava blivit heliga. Och dessa fyrfat -- de mäns som genom sin synd förverkade sina liv -- dem skall man hamra ut till plåtar för att därmed överdraga altaret; ty de hava varit framburna inför HERRENS ansikte och hava därigenom blivit heliga. Och de skola så vara ett tecken för Israels barn."
39 Then Eleazar the Priest tooke the brasen censers, which they, that were burnt, had offred, and made broade plates of them for a couering of the Altar.
Då tog prästen Eleasar kopparfyrfaten som de uppbrända männen hade burit fram, och man hamrade ut dem för att därmed överdraga altaret,
40 It is a remembrance vnto the children of Israel, that no stranger which is not of the seede of Aaron, come neere to offer incense before the Lord, that he be not like Korah and his company, as the Lord said to him by the hand of Moses.
till en påminnelse för Israels barn att ingen främmande, ingen som icke vore av Arons säd, måtte träda fram för att antända rökelse inför HERRENS ansikte, på det att det icke skulle gå honom såsom det gick Kora och hans hop: allt i enlighet med vad HERREN hade sagt honom genom Mose.
41 But on the morowe all the multitude of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye haue killed the people of the Lord.
Men dagen därefter knorrade Israels barns hela menighet emot Mose och Aron och sade: "Det är I som haven dödat HERRENS folk."
42 And when the Congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, then they turned their faces toward the Tabernacle of the Congregation: and beholde, the cloude couered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.
Då nu menigheten församlade sig emot Mose och Aron, vände dessa sig mot uppenbarelsetältet och fingo då se molnskyn övertäcka det; och HERRENS härlighet visade sig.
43 Then Moses and Aaron were come before the Tabernacle of the Congregation.
Då gingo Mose och Aron fram inför uppenbarelsetältet.
44 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
Och HERREN talade till Mose och sade:
45 Get you vp from among this Congregation: for I wil consume them quickly: then they fell vpon their faces.
"Gån bort ifrån denna menighet, så skall jag i ett ögonblick förgöra dem." Då föllo de ned på sina ansikten.
46 And Moses said vnto Aaron, Take the censer and put fire therein of the Altar, and put therein incense, and goe quickly vnto the Congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the Lord: the plague is begunne.
Och Mose sade till Aron: "Tag ditt fyrfat och lägg eld från altaret därpå och strö rökelse därpå, och bär det så med hast bort till menigheten och bringa försoning för dem; ty förtörnelse har gått ut från HERRENS ansikte, och hemsökelsen har begynt."
47 Then Aaron tooke as Moses commanded him, and ranne into the middes of the Congregation, and beholde, the plague was begun among the people, and hee put in incense, and made an atonement for the people.
Då tog Aron det som Mose hade tillsagt honom och skyndade mitt in i församlingen, och se, hemsökelsen hade redan begynt ibland folket, men han lade rökelsen på och bragte försoning för folket.
48 And when hee stoode betweene the dead, and them that were aliue, the plague was stayed.
När han så stod mellan de döda och de levande, upphörde hemsökelsen.
49 So they died of this plague fourtene thousande and seuen hundreth, beside them that dyed in the conspiracie of Korah.
Men de som hade omkommit genom hemsökelsen utgjorde fjorton tusen sju hundra, förutom dem som hade omkommit för Koras skull.
50 And Aaron went againe vnto Moses before the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and the plague was stayed.
Sedan vände Aron tillbaka till Mose vid uppenbarelsetältets ingång; och hemsökelsen hade upphört.
