Numbers 16
1 Nowe Korah the sonne of Izhar, the sonne of Kohath, the sonne of Leui went apart with Dathan, and Abiram the sonnes of Eliab, and On the sonne of Peleth, the sonnes of Reuben:
Da erfrechte sich Korach, Ishars Sohn, der Enkel des Levisohnes Kehat, mit den Rubeniten Datan und Abiram, Eliabs Söhnen, und mit On, Pelets Sohn.
2 And they rose vp against Moses, with certaine of the children of Israel, two hundreth and fiftie captaines of the assemblie, famous in the Congregation, and men of renoume,
Und sie traten vor Moses hin, ebenso 250 Männer von den anderen Israeliten, Gemeindevorsteher, Ratsherren und Vornehme.
3 Who gathered themselues together against Moses, and against Aaron, and sayde vnto them, Ye take too much vpon you, seeing all the Congregation is holie, euery one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherfore then lift ye your selues aboue the Congregation of the Lord?
So scharten sie sich gegen Moses und Aaron zusammen und sprachen zu ihnen: "Genug mit euch! Denn die Gesamtgemeinde, alle miteinander, sind heilig, und in ihrer Mitte ist der Herr. Warum erhebt ihr euch über des Herrn Gemeinde?"
4 But when Moses heard it, hee fell vpon his face,
Als Moses es hörte, fiel er auf sein Angesicht.
5 And spake to Korah and vnto all his companie, saying, To morow the Lord will shew who is his, and who is holy, and who ought to approche neere vnto him: and whom he hath chosen, hee will cause to come neere to him.
Dann sprach er zu Korach und seiner ganzen Rotte: "Der Herr tut morgen kund, wer sein ist und wer geweiht und wer mit ihm verkehren darf, wer ihm genehm, daß er ihn mit sich verkehren läßt.
6 This doe therefore, Take you censers, both Korah, and all his companie,
Tut dies: Nehmet euch Räucherpfannen, Korach und seine ganze Rotte,
7 And put fire therein, and put incense in the before the Lord to morowe: and the man whome the Lord doeth chuse, the same shalbe holie: ye take too much vpon you, ye sonnes of Leui.
tut Feuer darein und legt darauf morgen vor dem Herrn Räucherwerk! Zu wem sich der Herr bekennt, der ist geweiht. Ihr Levisöhne, dies genüge euch!"
8 Againe Moses saide vnto Korah, Heare, I pray you, ye sonnes of Leui.
Und Moses sprach zu Korach: "Hört dies, ihr Levisöhne!
9 Seemeth it a small thing vnto you that the God of Israel hath separated you from the multitude of Israel, to take you neere to himselfe, to doe the seruice of the Tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the Congregation and to minister vnto them?
Ist es euch zu wenig, daß euch Israels Gott aus der israelitischen Gemeinde ausgesondert hat, daß ihr mit ihm verkehren dürft, um an des Herrn Wohnung Dienst zu tun und vor der Gemeinde mit ihrem Dienst zu stehen?
10 He hath also taken thee to him, and all thy brethren the sonnes of Leui with thee, and seeke ye the office of the Priest also?
Dich ließ er mit sich verkehren und mit dir alle deine Brüder, Levis Söhne, und nun verlangt ihr auch Priesterrechte?
11 For which cause, thou, and all thy companie are gathered together against the Lord: and what is Aaron, that ye murmure against him?
Darum rottest du dich mit deiner Rotte gegen den Herrn zusammen. Was ist denn Aaron, daß ihr über ihn murret?"
12 And Moses sent to call Dathan, and Abiram the sonnes of Eliab: who answered, We will not come vp.
Dann sandte Moses und ließ Datan und Abiram, Eliabs Söhne, rufen. Sie aber sprachen: "Wir kommen nicht.
13 Is it a small thing that thou hast brought vs out of a lande that floweth with milke and honie, to kill vs in the wildernesse, except thou make thy selfe lord and ruler ouer vs also?
Ist es zu wenig, daß du uns aus einem Land, von Milch und Honig fließend, heraufgeführt, um uns in der Wüste umzubringen, daß du auch noch selbstherrlich über uns herrschen Willst?
14 Also thou hast not brought vs vnto a land that floweth with milke and honie, neither giuen vs inheritance of fieldes and vineyardes: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come vp.
Nicht wahr? Du hast uns in ein Land, von Milch und Honig fließend, gebracht, und Feld und Weinberg gabst du uns zu Erbe. Darfst du die Augen dieser Leute blenden? Wir kommen nicht."
15 Then Moses waxed verie angry, and saide vnto the Lord, Looke not vnto their offring: I haue not taken so much as an asse from them, neither haue I hurt any of them.
Da wurde Moses sehr zornig und sprach zum Herrn: "Kehre Dich nicht an ihr Gerede! Nicht einen Esel habe ich ihnen jemals weggenommen. Nicht einem unter ihnen ein Leid getan!"
16 And Moses said vnto Korah, Bee thou and al thy companie before the Lord: both thou, they, and Aaron to morowe:
Und zu Korach sprach Moses: "Du und deine ganze Rotte sind morgen vor dem Herrn; du, sie und Aaron.
17 And take euery man his censor, and put incense in them, and bring ye euery man his censor before the Lord, two hundreth and fiftie censors: thou also and Aaron, euery one his censor.
Nehme jeder seine Räucherpfanne mit, tue Räucherwerk darauf und bringe vor den Herrn jeder seine Räucherpfanne, 250 Räucherpfannen, auch du und Aaron, jeder seine Räucherpfanne!"
18 So they tooke euery man his censor, and put fire in them, and laide incense thereon, and stoode in the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation with Moses and Aaron.
Da nahmen sie jeder seine Räucherpfanne, taten Feuer darein, legten Räucherwerk darauf und stellten sich an die Pforte des Festgezeltes, ebenso Moses und Aaron.
19 And Korah gathered all the multitude against them vnto the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation: then the glorie of the Lord appeared vnto all the Congregation.
Und Korach versammelte die ganze Gemeinde wider sie an der Pforte des Festgezeltes. Da erschien der ganzen Gemeinde die Herrlichkeit des Herrn,
20 And the Lord spake vnto Moses and to Aaron, saying,
Und der Herr redete mit Moses und Aaron also:
21 Separate your selues from among this Cogregation, that I may consume them at once.
"Sondert euch von der Gemeinde hier ab, daß ich sie im Nu vertilge!"
22 And they fell vpon their faces and saide, O God the God of the spirits, of all fleshe, hath not one man onely sinned, and wilt thou bee wroth with all the Congregation?
Da fielen sie auf ihr Antlitz und sprachen: "Gott, Du Gott des Lebensodems alles Fleisches! Ein Mann sündigt, und Du willst gegen die Gemeinde ohne Ausnahme wüten?"
23 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
Da sprach der Herr zu Moses also:
24 Speake vnto the Congregation and say, Get you away from about the Tabernacle of Korah, Dathan and Abiram.
"Sprich so zu der Gemeinde: 'Verzieht euch rings von der Wohnstätte Korachs, Datans und Abirams.'"
25 Then Moses rose vp, and went vnto Dathan and Abiram, and the Elders of Israel followed him.
Da stand Moses auf und ging zu Datan und Abiram; ihm folgten die Ältesten Israels.
26 And he spake vnto the Congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tentes of these wicked men, and touche nothing of theirs, lest ye perish in all their sinnes.
Und er sprach zur Gemeinde: "Weicht von den Zelten dieser schlimmen Männer! Berührt nichts, was ihrer ist, damit ihr nicht, um all ihrer Sünden willen, mit hinweggerafft werdet!"
27 So they gate them away from the Tabernacle of Korah, Dathan and Abiram on euerie side: and Dathan, and Abiram came out and stood in the doore of their tentes with their wiues, and their sonnes, and their little children.
So verzogen sie sich rings von der Wohnstätte Korachs, Datans und Abirams. Datan und Abiram aber waren herausgetreten und hatten sich vor ihre Zelttüren gestellt, samt ihren Weibern, großen und kleinen Kindern.
28 And Moses saide, Hereby yee shall knowe that the Lord hath sent me to do all these works: for I haue not done them of mine owne minde.
Da sprach Moses: "Daran sollt ihr erkennen, daß der Herr mich gesandt, alle diese Taten zu tun, und daß ich solche nicht von mir aus tue!
29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men, the Lord hath not sent me.
Wenn diese sterben, wie alle Menschen sterben, und ihnen nur das widerfährt, was allen Menschen begegnet, dann hat der Herr mich nicht gesandt.
30 But if the Lord make a newe thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallowe them vp with all that they haue, and they goe downe quicke into ye pit, then ye shall vnderstand that these men haue prouoked the Lord. (Sheol h7585)
Aber tut der Herr ein Werk, und öffnet die Erde ihren Schlund und verschlingt sie mit allem, was ihrer ist, und fahren sie lebend in die Unterwelt, dann erkennet, daß diese Männer den Herrn gelästert haben!" (Sheol h7585)
31 And assoone as he had made an ende of speaking all these wordes, euen the ground claue asunder that was vnder them,
Wie er nun all diese Reden beendet hatte, spaltete sich der Erdboden unter ihnen,
32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them vp, with their families, and all the men that were with Korah, and all their goods.
und die Erde öffnete ihren Schlund und verschlang sie und ihre Behausungen sowie alle Leute, die Korach gehörten, und alle Habe.
33 So they and all that they had, went down aliue into the pit, and the earth couered them: so they perished from among the Congregation. (Sheol h7585)
Und sie fuhren mit all ihrer Habe lebend zur Unterwelt, und die Erde schloß sich über ihnen, und sie verschwanden aus der Gemeinde. (Sheol h7585)
34 And all Israel that were about them, fled at the crie of them: for they said, Let vs flee, least the earth swalow vs vp.
Ganz Israel aber, das sie rings umstand, war eilends geflohen; denn sie sagten: "Die Erde könnte auch uns verschlingen."
35 But there came out a fire from the Lord, and consumed the two hundreth and fiftie men that offred the incense.
Ein Feuer war nämlich vom Herrn ausgegangen und fraß die 250 Männer, die das Räucherwerk gebracht hatten.
36 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
Und der Herr sprach zu Moses:
37 Speake vnto Eleazar, the sonne of Aaron the Priest, that he take vp the censers out of the burning, and scatter the fire beyond the altar: for they are halowed,
"Sprich zum Aaronsohn, dem Priester Eleazar, er soll die Räucherpfannen von der Brandstatt nehmen und das Feuer von da zerstreuen!
38 The censers, I say, of these sinners, that destroyed themselues: and let them make of them broade plates for a couering of the Altar: for they offered them before the Lord, therefore they shalbe holy, and they shall be a signe vnto the children of Israel.
Weil die Frevler diese Räucherpfannen mit dem Verlust ihres Lebens geheiligt, so mache man aus ihnen Bleche und überziehe damit den Altar! Sie hatten sie ja vor den Herrn gebracht, und so heiligten sie sie. Sie seien den Söhnen Israels ein Wahrzeichen!"
39 Then Eleazar the Priest tooke the brasen censers, which they, that were burnt, had offred, and made broade plates of them for a couering of the Altar.
Da nahm der Priester Eleazar die kupfernen Räucherpfannen, die die Verbrannten hergebracht hatten, und man schlug sie breit zu einem Altarüberzug,
40 It is a remembrance vnto the children of Israel, that no stranger which is not of the seede of Aaron, come neere to offer incense before the Lord, that he be not like Korah and his company, as the Lord said to him by the hand of Moses.
ein Merkzeichen für die Israeliten, daß kein Unbefugter, der nicht zu Aarons Nachkommen gehört, das Recht hat, vor dem Herrn Räucherwerk darzubringen. Sonst geht es ihm wie Korach und seiner Rotte, wie ihm der Herr durch Moses angedroht hatte.
41 But on the morowe all the multitude of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye haue killed the people of the Lord.
Da murrte die ganze israelitische Gemeinde am anderen Morgen wider Moses und Aaron und sagte: "Ihr habt das Volk des Herrn bestürzt gemacht."
42 And when the Congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, then they turned their faces toward the Tabernacle of the Congregation: and beholde, the cloude couered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.
Als sich nun die Gemeinde gegen Moses und Aaron zusammenrottete, wandten sich diese nach dem Festgezelt. Und schon hatte es die Wolke bedeckt. Da erschien die Herrlichkeit des Herrn.
43 Then Moses and Aaron were come before the Tabernacle of the Congregation.
Moses und Aaron betraten das Festgezelt.
44 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
Und der Herr sprach zu Moses:
45 Get you vp from among this Congregation: for I wil consume them quickly: then they fell vpon their faces.
"Hebt euch weg aus der Gemeinde hier, daß ich sie im Nu vertilge!" Da fielen sie auf ihr Antlitz.
46 And Moses said vnto Aaron, Take the censer and put fire therein of the Altar, and put therein incense, and goe quickly vnto the Congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the Lord: the plague is begunne.
Und Moses sprach zu Aaron: "Nimm die Räucherpfanne, tu vom Altar Feuer darein, lege Räucherwerk darauf und trag es schleunigst in die Gemeinde und schaff ihnen Sühne! Denn schon geht vom Herrn der Grimm ans. Die Pest hat begonnen."
47 Then Aaron tooke as Moses commanded him, and ranne into the middes of the Congregation, and beholde, the plague was begun among the people, and hee put in incense, and made an atonement for the people.
Da nahm es Aaron, wie Moses gesagt, und lief mitten unter die Gemeinde. Schon aber hatte die Pest unter dem Volke begonnen. Da räucherte er und schaffte dem Volk Sühne.
48 And when hee stoode betweene the dead, and them that were aliue, the plague was stayed.
Also stellte er sich zwischen die Toten und die Lebenden, und der Pest ward Einhalt getan.
49 So they died of this plague fourtene thousande and seuen hundreth, beside them that dyed in the conspiracie of Korah.
Aber der Pestleichen waren es 14.700, außer den um Korachs willen Umgekommenen.
50 And Aaron went againe vnto Moses before the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and the plague was stayed.
Aaron kehrte nun zu Moses an die Pforte des Festgezeltes zurück; der Pest war nämlich Einhalt getan worden.
