Numbers 16
1 Nowe Korah the sonne of Izhar, the sonne of Kohath, the sonne of Leui went apart with Dathan, and Abiram the sonnes of Eliab, and On the sonne of Peleth, the sonnes of Reuben:
লেবির ছেলে কহাৎ, তার ছেলে যিষ্হর, তার ছেলে কোরহ এবং কয়েকজন রূবেণ গোষ্ঠীর ব্যক্তি—ইলীয়াবের ছেলে দাথন ও অবীরাম এবং পেলতের ছেলে ওন—উদ্ধত হল
2 And they rose vp against Moses, with certaine of the children of Israel, two hundreth and fiftie captaines of the assemblie, famous in the Congregation, and men of renoume,
এবং মোশির বিপক্ষতা করল। তাদের সঙ্গে 250 জন ইস্রায়েলী পুরুষ ছিল, যারা প্রত্যেকে সমাজের সুপরিচিত নেতা ছিল, যাদের মন্ত্রণা-সভার সদস্য নিযুক্ত করা হয়েছিল।
3 Who gathered themselues together against Moses, and against Aaron, and sayde vnto them, Ye take too much vpon you, seeing all the Congregation is holie, euery one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherfore then lift ye your selues aboue the Congregation of the Lord?
তারা দলবদ্ধ হয়ে মোশি ও হারোণের বিরোধিতা করতে এল এবং তাঁদের বলল, “তোমাদের স্পর্ধা বহুদূর বিস্তৃত হয়েছে! সমস্ত সমাজ পবিত্র, প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তিই পবিত্র এবং সদাপ্রভু তাদের সহবর্তী আছেন। তাহলে কেন তোমরা নিজেদের অবস্থান সদাপ্রভুর সমাজের ঊর্ধ্বে উন্নীত করেছ?”
4 But when Moses heard it, hee fell vpon his face,
মোশি এই কথা শুনে ভূমিতে উপুড় হয়ে পড়লেন।
5 And spake to Korah and vnto all his companie, saying, To morow the Lord will shew who is his, and who is holy, and who ought to approche neere vnto him: and whom he hath chosen, hee will cause to come neere to him.
তিনি কোরহ ও তার অনুগামীদের বললেন, “সকালবেলায় সদাপ্রভু প্রকাশ করবেন, কে তাঁর অধিকারভুক্ত এবং কে পবিত্র। তিনি সেই ব্যক্তিকে তাঁর নিকটবর্তী করবেন। যে ব্যক্তিকে তিনি মনোনীত করেন, সেই তাঁর নিকটবর্তী হবে।
6 This doe therefore, Take you censers, both Korah, and all his companie,
কোরহ, তুমি ও তোমার অনুগামী সবাই এই কাজ করো, অঙ্গারধানী নাও
7 And put fire therein, and put incense in the before the Lord to morowe: and the man whome the Lord doeth chuse, the same shalbe holie: ye take too much vpon you, ye sonnes of Leui.
এবং আগামীকাল তার মধ্যে আগুন ও ধূপ দিয়ে, সদাপ্রভুর সামনে নিবেদন করো। যে ব্যক্তিকে সদাপ্রভু মনোনীত করেন, সেই ব্যক্তি পবিত্র গণ্য হবে। লেবীয়রা, তোমাদের স্পর্ধা সীমা ছাড়িয়ে গেছে!”
8 Againe Moses saide vnto Korah, Heare, I pray you, ye sonnes of Leui.
মোশি কোরহকে এই কথাও বললেন, “লেবীয়েরা তোমরা এই কথা শোনো!
9 Seemeth it a small thing vnto you that the God of Israel hath separated you from the multitude of Israel, to take you neere to himselfe, to doe the seruice of the Tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the Congregation and to minister vnto them?
ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, অবশিষ্ট সমাজ থেকে তোমাদের পৃথক করে, তাঁর সান্নিধ্যে নিয়ে এসেছেন, যেন তোমরা সদাপ্রভুর আবাস তাঁবুর কাজকর্ম করো এবং সমাজের সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে থেকে তাদের পরিচর্যা করো, এই কি তোমাদের জন্য যথেষ্ট ছিল না?
10 He hath also taken thee to him, and all thy brethren the sonnes of Leui with thee, and seeke ye the office of the Priest also?
তিনি তোমাদের ও তোমাদের সহচর লেবীয়দের তাঁর নিকটস্থ করেছেন, কিন্তু এখন তোমরা যাজকত্ব পদের জন্যও চেষ্টা করছ।
11 For which cause, thou, and all thy companie are gathered together against the Lord: and what is Aaron, that ye murmure against him?
তোমরা ও তোমাদের অনুগামী সবাই, সদাপ্রভুর বিপক্ষেই জোটবদ্ধ হয়েছ। হারোণ কে যে তোমরা তার বিপক্ষে বচসা করো?”
12 And Moses sent to call Dathan, and Abiram the sonnes of Eliab: who answered, We will not come vp.
মোশি ইলীয়াবের ছেলে দাথন ও অবীরামকে ডেকে পাঠালেন, কিন্তু তারা বলল, “আমরা যাব না।
13 Is it a small thing that thou hast brought vs out of a lande that floweth with milke and honie, to kill vs in the wildernesse, except thou make thy selfe lord and ruler ouer vs also?
তুমি এক দুধ ও মধু প্রবাহী দেশ থেকে, এই প্রান্তরে আমাদের মেরে ফেলতে এনেছ, এই কি যথেষ্ট নয়? এখন আমাদের উপর প্রভুত্ব করতে চাইছ?
14 Also thou hast not brought vs vnto a land that floweth with milke and honie, neither giuen vs inheritance of fieldes and vineyardes: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come vp.
এছাড়াও, এখনও তুমি আমাদের কোনো দুধ ও মধু প্রবাহী দেশে নিয়ে যাওনি অথবা শস্যক্ষেত্র ও দ্রাক্ষাকুঞ্জের কোনো অধিকার দান করোনি। তুমি কি এই সমস্ত ব্যক্তির সঙ্গে ক্রীতদাসের মতো ব্যবহার করবে? না, আমরা যাব না!”
15 Then Moses waxed verie angry, and saide vnto the Lord, Looke not vnto their offring: I haue not taken so much as an asse from them, neither haue I hurt any of them.
মোশি তখন অত্যন্ত ক্রুদ্ধ হয়ে সদাপ্রভুকে বললেন, “ওই ব্যক্তিদের নৈবেদ্য গ্রহণ কোরো না। আমি তাদের কাছ থেকে, সর্বাধিক একটি গাধাও গ্রহণ করিনি অথবা তাদের কারও প্রতি কোনো অন্যায় আচরণ করিনি।”
16 And Moses said vnto Korah, Bee thou and al thy companie before the Lord: both thou, they, and Aaron to morowe:
মোশি কোরহকে বললেন, “তুমি ও তোমার সমস্ত অনুগামী, আগামীকাল সদাপ্রভুর সামনে উপস্থিত হবে—তুমি, তারা সবাই এবং হারোণ।
17 And take euery man his censor, and put incense in them, and bring ye euery man his censor before the Lord, two hundreth and fiftie censors: thou also and Aaron, euery one his censor.
প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তি অঙ্গারধানী নেবে—সর্বমোট 250-টি অঙ্গারধানী—এবং সদাপ্রভুর সামনে নিবেদন করতে হবে।” তুমি ও হারোণ তোমাদের অঙ্গারধানীও সদাপ্রভুর সামনে নিবেদন করবে।
18 So they tooke euery man his censor, and put fire in them, and laide incense thereon, and stoode in the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation with Moses and Aaron.
অতএব তারা প্রত্যেকে তাদের অঙ্গারধানী নিল ও তার মধ্যে আগুন ও ধূপ রাখল। তারপর তারা মোশি ও হারোণের সঙ্গে সমাগম তাঁবুর প্রবেশপথে দাঁড়াল।
19 And Korah gathered all the multitude against them vnto the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation: then the glorie of the Lord appeared vnto all the Congregation.
যখন কোরহ তার অনুগামীদের, তাঁদের বিপক্ষে সমাগম তাঁবুর প্রবেশপথে একত্র করল, তখন সদাপ্রভুর মহিমা সমস্ত সমাজের কাছে প্রত্যক্ষ হল।
20 And the Lord spake vnto Moses and to Aaron, saying,
সদাপ্রভু মোশি ও হারোণকে বললেন,
21 Separate your selues from among this Cogregation, that I may consume them at once.
“তোমরা নিজেদের এই সমাজ থেকে পৃথক করো, যেন এক মুহূর্তে আমি তাদের বিলুপ্ত করি।”
22 And they fell vpon their faces and saide, O God the God of the spirits, of all fleshe, hath not one man onely sinned, and wilt thou bee wroth with all the Congregation?
কিন্তু মোশি ও হারোণ ভূমিতে উপুড় হয়ে উচ্চস্বরে বললেন, “হে ঈশ্বর, সমস্ত জীবিত বস্তুর আত্মাদের ঈশ্বর, যখন কোনো একজন ব্যক্তি পাপ করে, তখন তাঁর জন্য কি তুমি সমস্ত সমাজের প্রতি রুষ্ট হবে?”
23 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে বললেন,
24 Speake vnto the Congregation and say, Get you away from about the Tabernacle of Korah, Dathan and Abiram.
“তুমি সমাজকে বলো, ‘তোমরা কোরহ, দাথন ও অবীরামের তাঁবুর কাছ থেকে সরে যাও।’”
25 Then Moses rose vp, and went vnto Dathan and Abiram, and the Elders of Israel followed him.
মোশি উঠে দাথন ও অবীরামের কাছে গেলেন এবং ইস্রায়েলের প্রবীণেরা তাঁকে অনুসরণ করল।
26 And he spake vnto the Congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tentes of these wicked men, and touche nothing of theirs, lest ye perish in all their sinnes.
তিনি সমাজকে সাবধান করে দিয়ে বললেন, “এই দুষ্ট ব্যক্তিদের তাঁবু থেকে সরে যাও! তাদের কোনো জিনিস স্পর্শ করো না, তা না হলে, তাদের পাপের জন্য তোমরাও বিনষ্ট হবে।”
27 So they gate them away from the Tabernacle of Korah, Dathan and Abiram on euerie side: and Dathan, and Abiram came out and stood in the doore of their tentes with their wiues, and their sonnes, and their little children.
অতএব তারা কোরহ, দাথন ও অবীরামের তাঁবুর কাছ থেকে সরে গেল। দাথন ও অবীরাম, তাদের স্ত্রী, সন্তান ও শিশুসহ তাঁবু থেকে বের হয়ে প্রবেশপথে দাঁড়িয়ে রইল।
28 And Moses saide, Hereby yee shall knowe that the Lord hath sent me to do all these works: for I haue not done them of mine owne minde.
মোশি তখন বললেন, “এবার তোমরা অবগত হবে যে সদাপ্রভু এই সমস্ত কাজ করবার জন্য আমাকেই প্রেরণ করেছেন এবং কোনোটিই আমার কল্পনাপ্রসূত নয়।
29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men, the Lord hath not sent me.
যদি এই ব্যক্তিরা স্বাভাবিক মৃত্যুবরণ করে ও মানুষমাত্রের প্রতি যা ঘটে থাকে, তাই ভোগ করে, তাহলে সদাপ্রভু আমাকে পাঠাননি।
30 But if the Lord make a newe thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallowe them vp with all that they haue, and they goe downe quicke into ye pit, then ye shall vnderstand that these men haue prouoked the Lord. (Sheol h7585)
কিন্তু সদাপ্রভু যদি সম্পূর্ণ নতুন কিছু করেন, ভূমি মুখ বিদীর্ণ করে সমস্ত দ্রব্য সমেত তাদের গ্রাস করে এবং যদি তারা জীবিত অবস্থায় সমাধিপ্রাপ্ত হয়, তাহলে তোমরা অবগত হবে যে এই ব্যক্তিরা সদাপ্রভুর অবমাননা করেছে।” (Sheol h7585)
31 And assoone as he had made an ende of speaking all these wordes, euen the ground claue asunder that was vnder them,
যে মুহূর্তে তিনি এই সমস্ত কথা সমাপ্ত করলেন, তাদের নিম্নস্থ ভূমি বিদীর্ণ হল,
32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them vp, with their families, and all the men that were with Korah, and all their goods.
ভূমি তার মুখ বিদীর্ণ করে কোরহ, তার সব অনুগামী ও তার আত্মীয়স্বজনদের, সমস্ত বিষয়সম্পত্তি গ্রাস করল।
33 So they and all that they had, went down aliue into the pit, and the earth couered them: so they perished from among the Congregation. (Sheol h7585)
তাদের অধিকারভুক্ত সমস্ত দ্রব্যসহ তারা জীবিত অবস্থায় সমাধিপ্রাপ্ত হল। ভূমি তাদের অবরুদ্ধ করল। তারা বিনাশপ্রাপ্ত হয়ে সমাজ থেকে অবলুপ্ত হল। (Sheol h7585)
34 And all Israel that were about them, fled at the crie of them: for they said, Let vs flee, least the earth swalow vs vp.
তাদের আর্তস্বর শুনে, চতুর্দিকের ইস্রায়েলীরা পলায়ন করল। তারা চিৎকার করে বলে উঠল, “ভূমি আমাদেরও গ্রাস করবে!”
35 But there came out a fire from the Lord, and consumed the two hundreth and fiftie men that offred the incense.
সদাপ্রভুর কাছ থেকে আগুন নির্গত হয়ে, যারা ধূপ নিবেদন করেছিল, সেই 250 জন ব্যক্তিকেও পুড়িয়ে দিল।
36 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে বললেন,
37 Speake vnto Eleazar, the sonne of Aaron the Priest, that he take vp the censers out of the burning, and scatter the fire beyond the altar: for they are halowed,
“যাজক হারোণের ছেলে ইলীয়াসরকে বলো, সব অঙ্গারধানী নিয়ে, তাদের অবশিষ্ট অঙ্গার, দূরে কোথাও ফেলে দিতে, কারণ ওইসব অঙ্গারধানী পবিত্র।
38 The censers, I say, of these sinners, that destroyed themselues: and let them make of them broade plates for a couering of the Altar: for they offered them before the Lord, therefore they shalbe holy, and they shall be a signe vnto the children of Israel.
সেই লোকদের অঙ্গারধানী যারা নিজেদের জীবনের প্রতিকূলে পাপ করেছিল। অঙ্গারধানীগুলি হাতুড়ি দিয়ে পিটিয়ে বেদির আচ্ছাদনের জন্য পাত প্রস্তুত করো, কারণ সেসব সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে নিবেদিত হয়েছিল, তাই পবিত্র। সেগুলি ইস্রায়েলীদের জন্য নিদর্শনস্বরূপ হোক।”
39 Then Eleazar the Priest tooke the brasen censers, which they, that were burnt, had offred, and made broade plates of them for a couering of the Altar.
অতএব যাজক ইলীয়াসর, যারা পুড়ে মরেছিল, তাদের আনা পিতলের সেইসব অঙ্গারধানী নিলেন এবং সেগুলি পিটিয়ে বেদির আচ্ছাদনের জন্য পাত প্রস্তুত করলেন,
40 It is a remembrance vnto the children of Israel, that no stranger which is not of the seede of Aaron, come neere to offer incense before the Lord, that he be not like Korah and his company, as the Lord said to him by the hand of Moses.
যে রকম সদাপ্রভু, মোশির মাধ্যমে, তাঁকে নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলেন। এই নিদর্শন ছিল ইস্রায়েলীদের স্মরণার্থক, যেন হারোণের উত্তরসূরি ব্যতীত অন্য কেউ সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে ধূপদাহ না করে; তা না হলে, তার পরিণতি কোরহ ও তার অনুগামীদের মতোই হবে।
41 But on the morowe all the multitude of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye haue killed the people of the Lord.
পরদিন, সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলী সমাজ, মোশি ও হারোণের বিপক্ষে বচসা করল। তারা বলল, “আপনারাই সদাপ্রভুর প্রজাদের হত্যা করলেন।”
42 And when the Congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, then they turned their faces toward the Tabernacle of the Congregation: and beholde, the cloude couered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.
যখন সেই সমাজ মোশি ও হারোণের বিপক্ষে একত্র হল এবং সমাগম তাঁবুর অভিমুখে ফিরল, হঠাৎ মেঘ তা আবৃত করল এবং সদাপ্রভুর মহিমা প্রত্যক্ষ হল।
43 Then Moses and Aaron were come before the Tabernacle of the Congregation.
তখন মোশি ও হারোণ, সমাগম তাঁবুর সামনে গেলেন
44 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
এবং সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে বললেন,
45 Get you vp from among this Congregation: for I wil consume them quickly: then they fell vpon their faces.
“এই সমাজ থেকে পৃথক হও যেন আমি এক নিমেষেই এদের বিলুপ্ত করি।” তাঁরা ভূমিতে উপুড় হয়ে পড়লেন।
46 And Moses said vnto Aaron, Take the censer and put fire therein of the Altar, and put therein incense, and goe quickly vnto the Congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the Lord: the plague is begunne.
মোশি তারপর হারোণকে বললেন, “তোমার অঙ্গারধানী নাও, বেদি থেকে অঙ্গার নিয়ে তার মধ্যে আগুন ও ধূপ দাও এবং তাড়াতাড়ি সমাজের মধ্যে গিয়ে তাদের জন্য প্রায়শ্চিত্ত করো। সদাপ্রভুর রোষ নির্গত হয়েছে; মহামারি শুরু হয়ে গিয়েছে।”
47 Then Aaron tooke as Moses commanded him, and ranne into the middes of the Congregation, and beholde, the plague was begun among the people, and hee put in incense, and made an atonement for the people.
মোশি যে রকম বললেন, হারোণ ঠিক তাই করলেন, তিনি সমাজের মধ্যে দৌড়ে গেলেন। ততক্ষণে জনতার মধ্যে মহামারি ছড়িয়ে পড়েছিল, কিন্তু হারোণ ধূপ দিয়ে তাদের জন্য প্রায়শ্চিত্ত করলেন।
48 And when hee stoode betweene the dead, and them that were aliue, the plague was stayed.
তিনি জীবিত ও মৃত, এই উভয় দলের মধ্যে দণ্ডায়মান হলেন এবং মহামারি নিবৃত্ত হল।
49 So they died of this plague fourtene thousande and seuen hundreth, beside them that dyed in the conspiracie of Korah.
কোরহের জন্য যারা নিহত হয়েছিল, তাদের অতিরিক্ত, ওই মহামারিতে নিহতের সংখ্যা 14,700।
50 And Aaron went againe vnto Moses before the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and the plague was stayed.
পরে হারোণ সমাগম তাঁবুর প্রবেশপথে, মোশির কাছে ফিরে গেলেন, কারণ মহামারি নিবৃত্ত হয়েছিল।
