Numbers 13
1 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
౧ఆ తరువాత యెహోవా మోషేతో మాట్లాడాడు. ఆయన ఇలా చెప్పాడు.
2 Sende thou men out to search the lande of Canaan which I giue vnto the children of Israel: of euery tribe of their fathers shall ye sende a man, such as are all rulers among them.
౨నేను ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలకి ఇస్తున్న కనాను దేశాన్ని పరీక్షించడానికి కొంతమందిని పంపించు. తమ పూర్వీకుల గోత్రాల ప్రకారం ఒక్కో గోత్రం నుండి ఒక్కో వ్యక్తిని మీరు పంపించాలి. వారిల్లో ప్రతి వాడూ తమ ప్రజల్లో నాయకుడై ఉండాలి.
3 Then Moses sent them out of the wildernesse of Paran at the commandement of the Lord: all those men were heades of the children of Israel.
౩మోషే యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞకు విధేయులయ్యేలా వారిని పారాను అరణ్యం నుండి పంపించాడు. వెళ్ళిన వారంతా ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజల్లో నాయకులు.
4 Also their names are these: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the sonne of Zaccur:
౪వారి పేర్లు ఇవి. రూబేను గోత్రం నుండి జక్కూరు కొడుకు షమ్మూయ,
5 Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the sonne of Hori:
౫షిమ్యోను గోత్రం నుండి హోరీ కొడుకు షాపాతు,
6 Of the tribe of Iudah, Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh:
౬యూదా గోత్రం నుండి యెఫున్నె కొడుకు కాలేబు,
7 Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the sonne of Ioseph:
౭ఇశ్శాఖారు గోత్రం నుండి యోసేపు కొడుకు ఇగాలు.
8 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the sone of Nun:
౮ఎఫ్రాయిము గోత్రం నుండి నూను కుమారుడు హోషేయ.
9 Of the tribe of Beniamin, Palti the sonne of Raphu:
౯బెన్యామీను గోత్రం నుండి రాఫు కొడుకు పల్తీ,
10 Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the sone of Sodi:
౧౦జెబూలూను గోత్రం నుండి సోరీ కొడుకు గదీయేలు,
11 Of the tribe of Ioseph, to wit, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the sonne of Susi:
౧౧యోసేపు గోత్రం నుండి అంటే మనష్షే గోత్రం నుండి సూసీ కొడుకు గదీ,
12 Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the sonne of Gemalli:
౧౨దాను గోత్రం నుండి గెమలి కొడుకు అమ్మీయేలు,
13 Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the sonne of Michael:
౧౩ఆషేరు గోత్రం నుండి మిఖాయేలు కొడుకు సెతూరు,
14 Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the sonne of Vophsi:
౧౪నఫ్తాలి గోత్రం నుండి వాపెసీ కొడుకు నహబీ,
15 Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the sonne of Machi.
౧౫గాదు గోత్రం నుండి మాకీ కొడుకు గెయువేలు.
16 These are the names of the men, which Moses sent to spie out the lande: and Moses called ye name of Oshea the sonne of Nun, Iehoshua.
౧౬ఆ దేశాన్ని పరీక్షించడానికి మోషే పంపిన వ్యక్తుల పేర్లు ఇవి. నూను కొడుకు హోషేయకి మోషే యెహోషువ అనే పేరు పెట్టాడు.
17 So Moses sent them to spie out the lande of Canaan, and said vnto them, Go vp this way toward the South, and go vp into the moutaines,
౧౭వారిని కనాను దేశాన్ని చూసి పరీక్షించడానికి మోషే పంపించాడు. అప్పుడు వాళ్లతో ఇలా చెప్పాడు. “మీరు దక్షిణం వైపు నుండి ప్రవేశించి పర్వత ప్రాంతంలోకి ఎక్కి వెళ్ళండి.
18 And consider the land what it is, and the people that dwel therein, whether they be strong or weake, either fewe or many,
౧౮ఆ దేశం ఎలాంటిదో పరీక్షించండి. అక్కడ నివసించే ప్రజలను పరిశీలించండి. ఆ ప్రజలు బలవంతులా లేక బలహీనులా అన్నది చూడండి. అక్కడి ప్రజల జనాభా కొద్దిమందే ఉన్నారా లేక అధికంగా ఉన్నారా అనేది చూడండి.
19 Also what the lande is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad: and what cities they be, that they dwell in, whether they dwell in tents, or in walled townes:
౧౯వారు నివసించే నేల ఎలాంటిదో చూడండి. అది మంచిదా, చెడ్డదా? ఎలాంటి పట్టణాలు అక్కడ ఉన్నాయి? వారి నివాసాలు శిబిరాల్లా ఉన్నాయా లేక ప్రాకారాలున్న కోటల్లో నివసిస్తున్నారా?
20 And what the land is: whether it be fat or leane, whether there be trees therein, or not. And be of good courage, and bring of the fruite of the lande (for then was the time of the first ripe grapes)
౨౦అక్కడి భూమి లక్షణం ఎలాంటిదో చూడండి. అది సారవంతమైనదా లేక నిస్సారమైనదా? అక్కడ చెట్లు ఉన్నాయో లేవో చూడండి. ధైర్యంగా ఉండండి. అక్కడి భూమి మీద పండే ఉత్పత్తుల్లో ఏవైనా రకాలు తీసుకు రండి.” అది ద్రాక్ష పళ్ళు పక్వానికి వచ్చే కాలం.
21 So they went vp, and searched out the lande, from the wildernesse of Zin vnto Rehob, to go to Hamath,
౨౧కాబట్టి ఆ వ్యక్తులు బయల్దేరి వెళ్ళారు. వారు లెబో హమాతు అనే ప్రాంతానికి దగ్గరగా సీను అరణ్యం నుండి రెహోబు వరకూ వెళ్లి సంచారం చేశారు.
22 And they ascended toward the South, and came vnto Hebron, where were Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the sonnes of Anak. And Hebron was built seuen yeere before Zoan in Egypt.
౨౨వారు దక్షిణం వైపు నుండి ప్రయాణం చేసి హెబ్రోనుకి వచ్చారు. అక్కడ అనాకు వంశం వారు అయిన అహీమాను, షేషయి, తల్మయి అనే తెగల ప్రజలు ఉన్నారు. ఆ హెబ్రోను పట్టణాన్ని ఐగుప్తులో ఉన్న సోయను పట్టణం కంటే ఏడేళ్ళు ముందుగా కట్టారు.
23 Then they came to the riuer of Eshcol, and cut downe thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it vpon a barre betweene two, and brought of the pomegranates and of the figges.
౨౩వారు ఎష్కోలు లోయ చేరుకున్నారు. అక్కడ ద్రాక్ష గుత్తులు ఉన్న ఒక కొమ్మను కోశారు. దాన్ని ఒక కర్రకి కట్టి ఇద్దరు వ్యక్తులు మోశారు. అక్కడనుంచే కొన్ని దానిమ్మ పళ్ళనూ కొన్ని అంజూరు పళ్ళనూ తీసుకు వచ్చారు.
24 That place was called the riuer Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes, which the children of Israel cut downe thence.
౨౪ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలు ఆ ప్రాంతంలో కోసిన ద్రాక్ష గెలను బట్టి ఆ ప్రాంతానికి “ఎష్కోలు లోయ” అనే పేరు పెట్టారు.
25 Then after fourtie dayes, they turned againe from searching of the land.
౨౫వారు ఆ దేశంలో నలభై రోజుల పాటు సంచరించి, పరీక్షించి తిరిగి వచ్చారు.
26 And they went and came to Moses and to Aaron and vnto al the Congregation of the children of Israel, in the wildernesse of Paran, to Kadesh, and brought to the, and to all the Congregation tydings, and shewed them the fruite of the lande.
౨౬పారాను అరణ్యంలో కాదేషులో ఉన్న మోషే అహరోనుల దగ్గరికీ, ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలందరి దగ్గరికీ వచ్చారు. ఆ దేశం గురించిన సమాచారం తెలియజేశారు. అలాగే తాము తెచ్చిన ఆ ప్రాంతం పళ్ళు చూపించారు.
27 And they tolde him, and saide, We came vnto the land whither thou hast sent vs, and surely it floweth with milke and honie: and here is of the fruite of it.
౨౭వారు మోషేకి ఇలా చెప్పారు. “నువ్వు మమ్మల్ని పంపించిన దేశానికి మేము వెళ్లాం. అక్కడ పాలు తేనెలు ప్రవహిస్తున్నాయి అన్నది నిజమే. ఆ దేశం పళ్ళు ఇవి.
28 Neuerthelesse the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled and exceeding great: and moreouer, we sawe the sonnes of Anak there.
౨౮కానీ అక్కడ నివసిస్తున్న ప్రజలు చాలా బలవంతులు. అక్కడి పట్టణాలు పెద్దవి. అవన్నీ బ్రమ్హాండమైన ప్రాకారాలు ఉన్న పట్టణాలు. అక్కడ మేము అనాకు వంశం వారిని చూశాం.
29 The Amalekites dwell in the South countrey, and the Hittites, and the Iebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountaines, and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Iorden.
౨౯దక్షిణ ప్రాంతంలో అమాలేకు ప్రజలు నివసిస్తున్నారు. కొండ ప్రాంతంలో హిత్తీ, యెబూసీ, అమోరీ తెగల వారు నివసిస్తున్నారు. ఇక సముద్రం సమీపంలోనూ, యొర్దాను నదీ ప్రాంతంలోనూ కనాను ప్రజలు నివసిస్తున్నారు.”
30 Then Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and saide, Let vs go vp at once, and possesse it: for vndoubtedly we shall ouercome it.
౩౦అప్పుడు కాలేబు మోషే చుట్టూ చేరిన జనాన్ని ఉత్సాహపరచడానికి ప్రయత్నం చేశాడు. “మనం దానిపై దాడి చేసి స్వాధీనం చేసుకుందాం. దాన్ని జయించడానికి మనకున్న బలం సరిపోతుంది” అన్నాడు.
31 But the men, that went vp with him, saide, we be not able to goe vp against the people: for they are stronger then we.
౩౧కాని అతనితో వెళ్ళిన మిగతా వారు “అక్కడి ప్రజలపై మనం దాడి చేయలేం. ఎందుకంటే వారు మనకన్నా బలవంతులు.” అన్నారు.
32 So they brought vp an euill report of the land which they had searched for the children of Israel, saying, The lande which we haue gone through to search it out, is a land that eateth vp the inhabitants thereof: for all the people that we sawe in it, are men of great stature.
౩౨ఈ విధంగా వారు తాము వెళ్లి చూసి వచ్చిన ప్రాంతం గురించి ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలకు నిరుత్సాహ పరిచే నివేదిక ఇచ్చారు. “మేము చూసి వచ్చిన ఆ దేశం తన నివాసుల్నే మింగివేసే దేశం. మేము చూసిన ప్రజలంతా ఆజానుబాహులు.
33 For there we sawe gyants, the sonnes of Anak, which come of the gyants, so that we seemed in our sight like grashoppers: and so wee were in their sight.
౩౩అక్కడ మేము నెఫీలీ ప్రజలను చూశాం. వారు అనాకు వంశం వాడైన నెఫీలీ తెగ వారు. వారి ఎదుట మా దృష్టికి మేము మిడతల్లాగా ఉన్నాం. వారి దృష్టికీ అలాగే ఉన్నాం” అన్నారు.
