Numbers 13
1 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
Y Jehová habló a Moisés, diciendo:
2 Sende thou men out to search the lande of Canaan which I giue vnto the children of Israel: of euery tribe of their fathers shall ye sende a man, such as are all rulers among them.
Envíate hombres que reconozcan la tierra de Canaán que yo doy a los hijos de Israel; de cada tribu de sus padres enviaréis un varón, cada uno príncipe entre ellos.
3 Then Moses sent them out of the wildernesse of Paran at the commandement of the Lord: all those men were heades of the children of Israel.
Y Moisés los envió desde el desierto de Farán conforme a la palabra de Jehová: y todos aquellos varones eran príncipes de los hijos de Israel.
4 Also their names are these: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the sonne of Zaccur:
Los nombres de los cuales son estos: De la tribu de Rubén, Sammua hijo de Zecur.
5 Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the sonne of Hori:
De la tribu de Simeón, Safar hijo de Huri.
6 Of the tribe of Iudah, Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh:
De la tribu de Judá, Caleb hijo de Jefone.
7 Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the sonne of Ioseph:
De la tribu de Isacar, Igal hijo de José.
8 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the sone of Nun:
De la tribu de Efraím, Oséas hijo de Nun.
9 Of the tribe of Beniamin, Palti the sonne of Raphu:
De la tribu de Ben-jamín, Palti hijo de Rafín.
10 Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the sone of Sodi:
De la tribu de Zabulón, Geddiel hijo de Sodi.
11 Of the tribe of Ioseph, to wit, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the sonne of Susi:
De la tribu de José, de la tribu de Manasés, Gaddi hijo de Susi.
12 Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the sonne of Gemalli:
De la tribu de Dan, Ammiel hijo de Gemalli.
13 Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the sonne of Michael:
De la tribu de Aser, Setur hijo de Micael.
14 Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the sonne of Vophsi:
De la tribu de Neftalí, Nahabi hijo de Vapsi.
15 Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the sonne of Machi.
De la tribu de Gad, Guel hijo de Maqui.
16 These are the names of the men, which Moses sent to spie out the lande: and Moses called ye name of Oshea the sonne of Nun, Iehoshua.
Estos son los nombres de los varones, que Moisés envió a reconocer la tierra; y a Oséas hijo de Nun, Moisés le puso nombre Josué.
17 So Moses sent them to spie out the lande of Canaan, and said vnto them, Go vp this way toward the South, and go vp into the moutaines,
Y enviólos Moisés a reconocer la tierra de Canaán, diciéndoles: Subíd por aquí, por el mediodía, y subíd al monte.
18 And consider the land what it is, and the people that dwel therein, whether they be strong or weake, either fewe or many,
Y considerád la tierra, que tal es: y el pueblo que la habita, si es fuerte, o flaco; si es poco, o mucho:
19 Also what the lande is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad: and what cities they be, that they dwell in, whether they dwell in tents, or in walled townes:
Que tal es la tierra habitada, si es buena, o mala; y que tales son las ciudades habitadas; si son de tiendas, o de fortalezas:
20 And what the land is: whether it be fat or leane, whether there be trees therein, or not. And be of good courage, and bring of the fruite of the lande (for then was the time of the first ripe grapes)
Ítem, cual sea la tierra, si es gruesa, o magra; si hay en ella árboles, o no. Y esforzáos, y cogéd del fruto de la tierra. Y el tiempo era el tiempo de las primeras uvas.
21 So they went vp, and searched out the lande, from the wildernesse of Zin vnto Rehob, to go to Hamath,
Y ellos subieron, y reconocieron la tierra desde el desierto de Sin, hasta Rohob entrando en Emat.
22 And they ascended toward the South, and came vnto Hebron, where were Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the sonnes of Anak. And Hebron was built seuen yeere before Zoan in Egypt.
Y subieron por el mediodía, y vinieron hasta Hebrón: y allí estaba Aquimán, y Sisai, y Tolmai, hijos de Enac. Y Hebrón fue edificada siete años antes de Soán la de Egipto.
23 Then they came to the riuer of Eshcol, and cut downe thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it vpon a barre betweene two, and brought of the pomegranates and of the figges.
Y llegaron hasta el arroyo de Escol, y de allí cortaron un sarmiento con un racimo de uvas, el cual trajeron dos en una barra; y de las granadas, y de los higos.
24 That place was called the riuer Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes, which the children of Israel cut downe thence.
Y llamó a aquel lugar, Nahalescol por el racimo, que cortaron de allí los hijos de Israel.
25 Then after fourtie dayes, they turned againe from searching of the land.
Y volvieron de reconocer la tierra al cabo de cuarenta días.
26 And they went and came to Moses and to Aaron and vnto al the Congregation of the children of Israel, in the wildernesse of Paran, to Kadesh, and brought to the, and to all the Congregation tydings, and shewed them the fruite of the lande.
Y anduvieron, y vinieron a Moisés y a Aarón, y a toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel en el desierto de Farán, en Cádes; y diéronles la respuesta, y a toda la congregación, y mostráronles el fruto de la tierra.
27 And they tolde him, and saide, We came vnto the land whither thou hast sent vs, and surely it floweth with milke and honie: and here is of the fruite of it.
Y contáronle, y dijeron: Nosotros llegamos a la tierra a la cual nos enviaste; la cual ciertamente corre leche y miel, y este es el fruto de ella:
28 Neuerthelesse the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled and exceeding great: and moreouer, we sawe the sonnes of Anak there.
Mas el pueblo que habita aquella tierra, es fuerte, y las ciudades muy grandes y fuertes: y también vimos allí los hijos de Enac.
29 The Amalekites dwell in the South countrey, and the Hittites, and the Iebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountaines, and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Iorden.
Amalec habita la tierra del mediodía, y el Jetteo, y el Jebuseo, y el Amorreo habitan en el monte: y el Cananeo habita junto a la mar, y a la ribera del Jordán.
30 Then Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and saide, Let vs go vp at once, and possesse it: for vndoubtedly we shall ouercome it.
Entonces Caleb hizo callar el pueblo delante de Moisés, y dijo: Subamos subiendo, y poseámosla; que más podremos que ella.
31 But the men, that went vp with him, saide, we be not able to goe vp against the people: for they are stronger then we.
Mas los varones que subieron con él, dijeron: No podremos subir contra aquel pueblo; porque es más fuerte que nosotros:
32 So they brought vp an euill report of the land which they had searched for the children of Israel, saying, The lande which we haue gone through to search it out, is a land that eateth vp the inhabitants thereof: for all the people that we sawe in it, are men of great stature.
Y infamaron la tierra, que habían reconocido, con los hijos de Israel, diciendo: La tierra por donde pasamos para reconocerla, es tierra que traga a sus moradores; y todo el pueblo, que vimos en medio de ella, son hombres de grande estatura.
33 For there we sawe gyants, the sonnes of Anak, which come of the gyants, so that we seemed in our sight like grashoppers: and so wee were in their sight.
También vimos allí gigantes, hijos de Enac, de los gigantes: y éramos nosotros, a nuestro parecer, como langostas: y así les parecíamos también a ellos.
