Numbers 13
1 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
Und der Herr redete mit Moses also:
2 Sende thou men out to search the lande of Canaan which I giue vnto the children of Israel: of euery tribe of their fathers shall ye sende a man, such as are all rulers among them.
"Entsende Männer, daß sie das Land von Kanaan auskundschaften, das ich den Söhnen Israels geben will! Je einen aus dem Stamm seiner Väter sollt ihr senden, jeder unter ihnen ein Fürst!"
3 Then Moses sent them out of the wildernesse of Paran at the commandement of the Lord: all those men were heades of the children of Israel.
So entsandte sie Moses aus der Wüste Paran nach des Herrn Befehl, lauter Männer, die Häupter der Israeliten waren.
4 Also their names are these: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the sonne of Zaccur:
Dies sind ihre Namen: vom Stamme Ruben: Sammua, Zakkurs Sohn;
5 Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the sonne of Hori:
vom Stamme Simeon: Saphat, Choris Sohn;
6 Of the tribe of Iudah, Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh:
vom Stamme Juda: Kaleb, Jephunnes Sohn,
7 Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the sonne of Ioseph:
Vom Stamme Issakar: Igal, Josephs Sohn;
8 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the sone of Nun:
vom Stamme Ephraim: Hosea, Nuns Sohn;
9 Of the tribe of Beniamin, Palti the sonne of Raphu:
vom Stamme Benjamin: Palti, Raphus Sohn;
10 Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the sone of Sodi:
vom Stamme Zabulon: Gaddiel, Sodis Sohn;
11 Of the tribe of Ioseph, to wit, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the sonne of Susi:
vom Stamme Joseph: vom Stamme Manasse Gaddi, Susis Sohn;
12 Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the sonne of Gemalli:
vom Stamme Dan: Ammiel, Gemallis Sohn;
13 Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the sonne of Michael:
vom Stamme Asser: Setur, Michaels Sohn;
14 Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the sonne of Vophsi:
vom Stamme Naphtali: Nachbi, Wophsis Sohn;
15 Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the sonne of Machi.
vom Stamme Gad: Geuel, Makis Sohn.
16 These are the names of the men, which Moses sent to spie out the lande: and Moses called ye name of Oshea the sonne of Nun, Iehoshua.
Dies sind die Namen der Männer, die Moses zur Auskundschaftung des Landes, ausgesandt hat. Moses aber nannte Hosea, Nuns Sohn, Josue.
17 So Moses sent them to spie out the lande of Canaan, and said vnto them, Go vp this way toward the South, and go vp into the moutaines,
So sandte sie Moses aus, das Land Kanaan auszukundschaften. Er sprach zu ihnen: "Zieht in das Südland hier hinauf! Ersteigt das Gebirge!
18 And consider the land what it is, and the people that dwel therein, whether they be strong or weake, either fewe or many,
Beschauet das Land wie es ist und seht zu, und ob das Volk darin stark oder schwach, wenig oder zahlreich ist,
19 Also what the lande is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad: and what cities they be, that they dwell in, whether they dwell in tents, or in walled townes:
und wie die Gegend, in der es wohnt, ob schön oder häßlich, und wie die Städte sind, die es bewohnt, ob sie in Dörfern oder festen Städten wohnen,
20 And what the land is: whether it be fat or leane, whether there be trees therein, or not. And be of good courage, and bring of the fruite of the lande (for then was the time of the first ripe grapes)
und wie der Boden ist, ob mager oder fett, ob Bäume daraufstehen oder nicht! So gebt euch Mühe und nehmt aus dem Lande ein paar Früchte mit!" Es war nämlich gerade die Zeit der ersten Weintrauben.
21 So they went vp, and searched out the lande, from the wildernesse of Zin vnto Rehob, to go to Hamath,
Da zogen sie hinauf und durchforschten das Land von der Wüste Sin bis Rechob, Chamat zu.
22 And they ascended toward the South, and came vnto Hebron, where were Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the sonnes of Anak. And Hebron was built seuen yeere before Zoan in Egypt.
Dann zogen sie in das Südland bis Chebron hinauf. Dort waren Achiman, Sesai und Talmai, die Enaksprößlinge. An Chebron aber war sieben Jahre, vor Tanis in Ägypten, gebaut worden.
23 Then they came to the riuer of Eshcol, and cut downe thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it vpon a barre betweene two, and brought of the pomegranates and of the figges.
Sie kamen nun in das Traubental und schnitten dort eine Rebe mit einer einzigen Traube ab und trugen sie zu zweien an einer Stange, auch Granatäpfel und Feigen.
24 That place was called the riuer Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes, which the children of Israel cut downe thence.
Jenen Ort nannte man das Traubental wegen der Traube, die dort die Israeliten geschnitten hatten.
25 Then after fourtie dayes, they turned againe from searching of the land.
Nach vierzig Tagen kehrten sie von der Auskundschaftung des Landes zurück.
26 And they went and came to Moses and to Aaron and vnto al the Congregation of the children of Israel, in the wildernesse of Paran, to Kadesh, and brought to the, and to all the Congregation tydings, and shewed them the fruite of the lande.
Sie zogen heim und kamen zu Moses, Aaron und der israelitischen Gesamtgemeinde in die Wüste Paran nach Kades. Sie brachten ihnen und der ganzen Gemeinschaft Bescheid und zeigten ihnen des Landes Früchte.
27 And they tolde him, and saide, We came vnto the land whither thou hast sent vs, and surely it floweth with milke and honie: and here is of the fruite of it.
Und sie erzählten ihnen und sprachen: "Wir sind in das Land gekommen, in das du uns gesandt hast. Wahr ist es: Es fließt von Milch und Honig, und dies sind seine Früchte.
28 Neuerthelesse the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled and exceeding great: and moreouer, we sawe the sonnes of Anak there.
Nur, daß das Volk im Lande trotzig und die Städte fest und sehr groß sind. Auch haben wir dort die Enaksprößlinge erblickt.
29 The Amalekites dwell in the South countrey, and the Hittites, and the Iebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountaines, and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Iorden.
Im Südland wohnt Amalek, auf dem Gebirge die Chittiter, Jebusiter und Amoriter, am Meer und am Jordan die Kanaaniter."
30 Then Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and saide, Let vs go vp at once, and possesse it: for vndoubtedly we shall ouercome it.
Da drängte sich Kaleb durch das Volk zu Moses und sprach: "Wir wollen dennoch hinaufziehen und es erobern. Wir können es gut bewältigen."
31 But the men, that went vp with him, saide, we be not able to goe vp against the people: for they are stronger then we.
Aber die Männer, die mit ihm hinaufgezogen, sprachen: "Wir können gegen dieses Volk nicht ziehen. Es ist für uns viel zu stark."
32 So they brought vp an euill report of the land which they had searched for the children of Israel, saying, The lande which we haue gone through to search it out, is a land that eateth vp the inhabitants thereof: for all the people that we sawe in it, are men of great stature.
Und sie berichteten den Israeliten Schlimmes über das Land, das sie ausgekundschaftet hatten, und sprachen: "Das Land, das wir zur Erkundung durchzogen haben, überfüttert seine Einwohner. Alle Leute, die wir darin gesehen, sind ungewöhnlich groß.
33 For there we sawe gyants, the sonnes of Anak, which come of the gyants, so that we seemed in our sight like grashoppers: and so wee were in their sight.
Wir haben dort die Riesen geschaut, die Enaksöhne unter den Riesen. Wir kamen uns vor wie Heuschrecken. Auch ihnen sind wir so vorgekommen."
