Nehemiah 3

1 Then arose Eliashib the hie Priest with his brethren the Priestes, and they buylt the sheepegate: they repayred it, and set vp the doores thereof: euen vnto the tower of Meah repayred they it, and vnto the tower of Hananeel.

Et Eliasub le grand prêtre se leva avec ses frères les prêtres, et ils édifièrent la porte Probatique; eux-mêmes la sanctifièrent, et ils mirent ses battants; ils sanctifièrent aussi la tour de cent coudées, et la tour d'Anamehel.

2 And next vnto him buylded the men of Iericho, and beside him Zaccur the sonne of Imri.

Et, auprès d'eux, édifièrent des hommes de Jéricho, et des fils de Zacchur, fils d'Aman.

3 But the fish port did the sonnes of Senaah buylde, which also layde the beames thereof, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.

Les fils d'Asana édifièrent la porte des Poissons; eux-mêmes la couvrirent et mirent ses battants, serrures et verrous.

4 And next vnto them fortified Merimoth, the sonne of Vrijah, the sonne of Hakkoz: and next vnto them fortified Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Meshezabeel: and next vnto them fortified Zadok, the sonne of Baana:

Et, auprès d'eux, édifièrent Ramoth, fils d'Urie, fils d'Accos, et Mosollam, fils de Barachias, fils de Mazebel; et, auprès de ceux-ci, Sadoc, fils de Baana.

5 And next vnto them fortified the Tekoites: but the great men of them put not their neckes to the worke of their lordes.

Et, après ce dernier, se trouvaient des hommes de Thécoé; mais les nobles n'offrirent pas de ployer leur cou pour un tel service.

6 And the gate of the olde fishpoole fortified Iehoiada the sonne of Paseah, and Meshullam the sonne of Besodaiah: they laid the beames thereof, and set on the doores thereof, and the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.

Joad, fils de Phasec, et Mesulam, fils de Basodias, édifièrent la porte Ancienne; eux-mêmes la couvrirent et mirent ses battants, serrures et verrous.

7 Next vnto them also fortified Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Iadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, vnto the throne of the Duke, which was beyond the Riuer.

Et, auprès de ce lieu, édifia Oziel, fils d'Arachias l'orfèvre. Et, auprès, Ananias, fils de Roceïm, et les siens terminèrent Jérusalem jusqu'aux murs de la Grande rue.

8 Next vnto him fortified Vzziel the sonne of Harhohiah of the golde smithes: next vnto him also fortified Hananiah, the sonne of Harakkahim, and they repayred Ierusalem vnto the broad wall.

Et, auprès de ce lieu, édifia Oziel, fils d'Arachias l'orfèvre. Et, auprès, Ananias, fils de Roceïm, et les siens terminèrent Jérusalem jusqu'aux murs de la Grande rue.

9 Also next vnto them fortified Rephaiah, the sonne of Hur, the ruler of the halfe part of Ierusalem.

Et, auprès d'eux, édifia Raphaïe, fils de Sur, chef de la moitié de la banlieue de Jérusalem.

10 And next vnto him fortified Iedaiah the sonne of Harumaph, euen ouer against his house: and next vnto him fortified Hattush, the sonne of Hashabniah.

Et, auprès de lui, Jedaïe, fils d'Eromaph, édifia en face sa maison; et, auprès de lui, Attuth, fils d'Asabanias.

11 Malchiiah the sonne of Harim, and Hashub the sonne of Pahath Moab fortified the seconde porcion, and the tower of the fornaces.

Et, auprès de ce dernier, Melchias, fils d'Héram, et Asub, fils de Phaat-Moab, édifièrent jusqu'à la tour des Fours.

12 Next vnto him also fortified Shallum, the sonne of Halloesh, the ruler of the halfe part of Ierusalem, he, and his daughters.

Et, auprès de là, édifièrent Sallum, fils d'Alloès, chef de la moitié de la banlieue de Jérusalem, lui et ses filles.

13 The valley gate fortified Hanum, and the inhabitants of Zanuah: they buylt it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof, euen a thousand cubites on the wall vnto the dung porte.

Anun et les habitants de Zano relevèrent la porte de la Vallée; ils l'édifièrent eux-mêmes, et mirent ses battants, serrures et verrous; et ils réparèrent mille coudées de muraille jusqu'à la porte du Fumier.

14 But the dung port fortified Malchiah, the sonne of Rechab, the ruler of the fourth part of Beth-haccarem: he built it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.

Et Melchias, fils de Réchab, chef de la banlieue de Bethaccharim, lui et ses fils relevèrent la porte du Fumier, et ils la couvrirent, et ils mirent ses battants, serrures et verrous.

15 But the gate of the fountaine fortified Shallun, the sonne of Col-hozeh, the ruler of the fourth part of Mizpah: he builded it, and couered it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof, and the wall vnto the fishpoole of Shelah by the Kings garden, and vnto the steppes that goe downe from the citie of Dauid.

Il fit aussi le mur de la piscine où on lave les toisons lors de la tonte du roi, jusqu'aux degrés qui descendent de la ville de David.

16 After him fortified Nehemiah the sonne of Azbuk, the ruler of ye halfe part of Beth-zur, vntill the otherside ouer against the sepulchres of Dauid, and to the fishpoole that was repaired, and vnto the house of the mightie.

Après lui, Néhémias, fils d'Azabuch, chef de la moitié de la banlieue de Bethsur, édifia jusqu'au jardin du sépulcre de David, et jusqu'à la piscine artificielle, et jusqu'à la maison des hommes vaillants.

17 After him fortified the Leuites, Rehum the sonne of Bani, and next vnto him fortified Hashabiah the ruler of the halfe part of Keilah in his quarter.

Après lui, édifièrent les lévites, sous Rahum, fils de Bani; à côté de celui-ci, Asabie, chef de la moitié de la banlieue de Cella, avec ses habitants.

18 After him fortified their brethren: Bauai, the sonne of Henadad the ruler of the halfe part of Keilah:

Et, après lui, étaient leurs frères, sous Béneï, fils d'Enadad, chef de l'autre moitié de la même banlieue.

19 And next vnto him fortified Ezer, the sonne of Ieshua the ruler of Mizpah, the other portion ouer against the going vp to the corner of the armour.

Et, à côté de ceux-ci, Azur, fils de Josué, chef de Masphaï, releva une part de la tour de la Montée, celle qui tenait à l'angle.

20 After him was earnest Baruch the sonne of Zacchai, and fortified another portion from the corner vnto the doore of the house of Eliashib the hie Priest.

Après lui, Baruch, fils de Zabu, édifia une autre part, depuis l'angle jusqu'à la porte de la maison d'Eliasub le grand prêtre.

21 After him fortified Merimoth, the sonne of Vriiah, the sonne of Hakkoz, another portion from the doore of the house of Eliashib, euen as long as the house of Eliashib extended.

Après lui, Meramoth, fils d'Urie, fils d'Accos, édifia une autre part, à partir de la porte de la maison d'Eliasub, jusqu'à l'extrémité de cette maison.

22 After him also fortified the Priests, the men of the playne.

Après lui, édifièrent les prêtres, les hommes d'Eccbechar.

23 After them fortified Beniamin, and Hasshub ouer against their house: after him fortified Azariah, the sonne of Maaseiah, the sonne of Ananiah, by his house.

Après lui, Benjamin et Asub édifièrent devant leur maison; ensuite, Azarias, fils de Maasia, fils d'Anania, le long de sa maison.

24 After him fortified Binnui, the sonne of Henadad another portion, from the house of Azariah vnto the turning and vnto the corner.

Après celui-ci, Bani, fils d'Adad, édifia une autre part, depuis la maison d'Azarias, jusqu'à l'angle et jusqu'au tournant.

25 Palal, the sonne of Vzai, from ouer against the corner, and the high tower, that lieth out from the Kings house, which is beside the court of the prison. After him, Pedaiah, the sonne of Parosh.

Phalach, fils d'Euzaï, édifia vis-à-vis l'angle où la tour fait saillie sur le palais du roi, et domine la cour de la prison; et, après lui, Phadaïa, fils de Pharos,

26 And the Nethinims they dwelt in ye fortresse vnto the place ouer against the water gate, Eastwarde, and to the tower that lyeth out.

Et les Nathinéens se placèrent en Ophel, jusqu'au jardin de la porte des Eaux, du côté de l'orient, où une tour s'élève en saillie.

27 After him fortified the Tekoites another portion ouer against the great tower, that lyeth out, euen vnto the wall of the fortresse.

Ensuite, ceux de Thécoé édifièrent une autre part, vis-à-vis la grande tour qui fait saillie, jusqu'au mur d'Ophla.

28 From aboue the horsegate forth fortified the Priests, euery one ouer against his house.

Les prêtres édifièrent au-dessus de la porte des Cavaliers, chacun en face de sa maison.

29 After them fortified Zadok the sonne of Immer ouer against his house: and after him fortified Shemaiah, the sonne of Shechadiah the keeper of the East gate.

Après ceux-là, Saddoc, fils d'Emmer, édifia en face de sa maison; et, après lui, Samaïa, fils de Sechénias, garde de la porte orientale du temple.

30 After him fortified Hananiah, the sonne of Shelemiah, and Hanun, the sonne of Zalaph, the sixt, another portion after him fortified Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah, ouer against his chamber.

Après celui-cl, Ananias, fils de Sélémias, et Anom, sixième fils de Séleph, édifièrent; puis, Mesulam, fils de Barachias, édifia en face du trésor dont il était le gardien;

31 After him fortified Malchiah the goldesmiths sonne, vntil the house of the Nethinims, and of ye marchants ouer against the gate Miphkad, and to the chamber in the corner.

puis, Méchias, fils de Saréphi, édifia jusqu'à la maison des Nathinéens, et les petits marchands vis-à-vis la porte de Maphecad jusqu'aux degrés du tournant.

32 And betweene the chamber of the corner vnto the sheepegate fortified the goldesmithes and the marchantes.

Enfin, les forgerons et des détaillants édifièrent du côté de la porte Probatique.
