Nehemiah 3
1 Then arose Eliashib the hie Priest with his brethren the Priestes, and they buylt the sheepegate: they repayred it, and set vp the doores thereof: euen vnto the tower of Meah repayred they it, and vnto the tower of Hananeel.
Eliasib, le grand prêtre, et ses frères les prêtres se mirent à bâtir la porte des Brebis; ils la consacrèrent et en posèrent les battants; ils réparèrent la muraille et la consacrèrent jusqu’à la tour de Méa et jusqu’à la tour de Hananéel.
2 And next vnto him buylded the men of Iericho, and beside him Zaccur the sonne of Imri.
A côté bâtissaient les hommes de Jéricho; et à côté bâtissait Zachur, fils d’Amri.
3 But the fish port did the sonnes of Senaah buylde, which also layde the beames thereof, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.
Les fils d’Asnaa bâtirent la porte des Poissons; ils y mirent des poutres et en posèrent les battants, les verrous et les barres;
4 And next vnto them fortified Merimoth, the sonne of Vrijah, the sonne of Hakkoz: and next vnto them fortified Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Meshezabeel: and next vnto them fortified Zadok, the sonne of Baana:
et à côté, réparait Marimuth, fils d’Urie, fils d’Accus; et à côté réparait Mosollam, fils de Barachie, fils de Mésézébel; et à côté réparait Sadoc, fils de Baana;
5 And next vnto them fortified the Tekoites: but the great men of them put not their neckes to the worke of their lordes.
et à côté réparaient les Thécuites: mais leurs chefs n’apportèrent pas leur concours à la besogne de leur Seigneur.
6 And the gate of the olde fishpoole fortified Iehoiada the sonne of Paseah, and Meshullam the sonne of Besodaiah: they laid the beames thereof, and set on the doores thereof, and the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.
Joïada, fils de Phaséa, et Mosollam, fils de Besodias, réparèrent la Vieille Porte; ils y mirent des poutres et en posèrent les battants, les verrous et les barres.
7 Next vnto them also fortified Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Iadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, vnto the throne of the Duke, which was beyond the Riuer.
Et à côté réparaient Meltias le Gabaonite, Jadon le Méronathite, et les hommes de Gabaon et de Maspha, près du tribunal du gouverneur d’au delà du fleuve;
8 Next vnto him fortified Vzziel the sonne of Harhohiah of the golde smithes: next vnto him also fortified Hananiah, the sonne of Harakkahim, and they repayred Ierusalem vnto the broad wall.
et à côté réparait Eziel, fils d’Araïas, chef des orfèvres; et à côté réparait Ananie, de la corporation des parfumeurs. Ils laissèrent Jérusalem jusqu’à la muraille large.
9 Also next vnto them fortified Rephaiah, the sonne of Hur, the ruler of the halfe part of Ierusalem.
A côté d’eux réparait Raphaïas, fils de Hur, chef de la moitié du district de Jérusalem.
10 And next vnto him fortified Iedaiah the sonne of Harumaph, euen ouer against his house: and next vnto him fortified Hattush, the sonne of Hashabniah.
A côté réparait, vis-à-vis de sa maison, Jédaïas, fils de Haromaph; et à côté réparait Hattus, fils de Hasebonias.
11 Malchiiah the sonne of Harim, and Hashub the sonne of Pahath Moab fortified the seconde porcion, and the tower of the fornaces.
Melchias, fils de Herem, et Hasub, fils de Phahath-Moab, réparèrent une autre partie de la muraille et la tour des Fourneaux.
12 Next vnto him also fortified Shallum, the sonne of Halloesh, the ruler of the halfe part of Ierusalem, he, and his daughters.
A côté réparait, avec ses filles, Sellum, fils d’Alohès, chef de l’autre moitié du district de Jérusalem.
13 The valley gate fortified Hanum, and the inhabitants of Zanuah: they buylt it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof, euen a thousand cubites on the wall vnto the dung porte.
Hanun et les habitants de Zanoé réparèrent la porte de la Vallée; ils la bâtirent et en posèrent les battants, les verrous et les barres; ils firent en outre mille coudées de mur jusqu’à la porte du Fumier.
14 But the dung port fortified Malchiah, the sonne of Rechab, the ruler of the fourth part of Beth-haccarem: he built it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.
Melchias, fils de Réchab, chef du district de Bethacharam, répara la porte du Fumier; il la bâtit et en posa les battants, les verrous et les barres.
15 But the gate of the fountaine fortified Shallun, the sonne of Col-hozeh, the ruler of the fourth part of Mizpah: he builded it, and couered it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof, and the wall vnto the fishpoole of Shelah by the Kings garden, and vnto the steppes that goe downe from the citie of Dauid.
Sellun, fils de Cholhoza, chef du district de Maspha, répara la porte de la Source; il la bâtit, la couvrit et en posa les battants, les verrous et les barres; il fit en outre les murs de l’étang de Siloé, près du jardin du Roi, jusqu’aux degrés qui descendent de la cité de David.
16 After him fortified Nehemiah the sonne of Azbuk, the ruler of ye halfe part of Beth-zur, vntill the otherside ouer against the sepulchres of Dauid, and to the fishpoole that was repaired, and vnto the house of the mightie.
Après lui, Néhémie, fils d’Azboc, chef de la moitié du district de Bethsur, répara jusque vis-à-vis des sépulcres de David, jusqu’au réservoir qui avait été construit, et jusqu’à la maison des Héros.
17 After him fortified the Leuites, Rehum the sonne of Bani, and next vnto him fortified Hashabiah the ruler of the halfe part of Keilah in his quarter.
Après lui réparaient les lévites, sous la conduite de Réhum, fils de Benni; à côté de lui réparait, pour son district, Hasébias, chef de la moitié du district de Céïla.
18 After him fortified their brethren: Bauai, the sonne of Henadad the ruler of the halfe part of Keilah:
Après lui réparaient leurs frères, sous la conduite de Bavaï, fils de Enadad, chef de l’autre moitié du district de Céïla.
19 And next vnto him fortified Ezer, the sonne of Ieshua the ruler of Mizpah, the other portion ouer against the going vp to the corner of the armour.
A côté, Azer, fils de Josué, chef de Maspha, répara une autre portion de la muraille, vis-à-vis de la montée de l’arsenal, à l’angle.
20 After him was earnest Baruch the sonne of Zacchai, and fortified another portion from the corner vnto the doore of the house of Eliashib the hie Priest.
Après lui, Baruch, fils de Zachaï, réparait avec ardeur une autre portion, depuis l’angle jusqu’à la porte de la maison d’Eliasib, le grand prêtre.
21 After him fortified Merimoth, the sonne of Vriiah, the sonne of Hakkoz, another portion from the doore of the house of Eliashib, euen as long as the house of Eliashib extended.
Après lui, Mérimuth, fils d’Urie, fils de Haccus, réparait une autre portion, depuis la porte de la maison d’Eliasib, jusqu’à l’extrémité de la maison d’Eliasib.
22 After him also fortified the Priests, the men of the playne.
Après lui réparaient les prêtres, les hommes de la plaine du Jourdain.
23 After them fortified Beniamin, and Hasshub ouer against their house: after him fortified Azariah, the sonne of Maaseiah, the sonne of Ananiah, by his house.
Après eux Benjamin et Hasub réparaient vis-à-vis de leur maison. Après eux, Azarias, fils de Maasias, fils d’Ananie, réparait à côté de sa maison.
24 After him fortified Binnui, the sonne of Henadad another portion, from the house of Azariah vnto the turning and vnto the corner.
Après lui, Bennui, fils de Hénadad réparait une autre portion, depuis la maison d’Azarias jusqu’à l’angle et jusqu’au tournant.
25 Palal, the sonne of Vzai, from ouer against the corner, and the high tower, that lieth out from the Kings house, which is beside the court of the prison. After him, Pedaiah, the sonne of Parosh.
Phalel, fils d’Ozi, réparait vis-à-vis de l’angle et de la haute tour qui fait saillie en avant de la maison du roi, près de la cour de la prison. Après lui réparait Phadaïas, fils de Pharos.
26 And the Nethinims they dwelt in ye fortresse vnto the place ouer against the water gate, Eastwarde, and to the tower that lyeth out.
Les Nathinéens demeuraient sur Ophel, jusque vis-à-vis de la porte de l’Eau, à l’orient, et de la tour en saillie.
27 After him fortified the Tekoites another portion ouer against the great tower, that lyeth out, euen vnto the wall of the fortresse.
Après lui, les Thécuites réparèrent une autre portion, vis-à-vis de la grande tour en saillie, jusqu’au mur d’Ophel.
28 From aboue the horsegate forth fortified the Priests, euery one ouer against his house.
Au-dessus de la porte des Chevaux, réparaient les prêtres, chacun devant sa maison.
29 After them fortified Zadok the sonne of Immer ouer against his house: and after him fortified Shemaiah, the sonne of Shechadiah the keeper of the East gate.
Après lui, Sadoc, fils d’Emmer, réparait devant sa maison; après lui, réparait Sémaïas, fils de Séchénias, gardien de la porte orientale du temple.
30 After him fortified Hananiah, the sonne of Shelemiah, and Hanun, the sonne of Zalaph, the sixt, another portion after him fortified Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah, ouer against his chamber.
Après lui, Hananias, fils de Sélémias, et Hanun, le sixième fils de Séleph, réparaient une autre portion de la muraille. Après lui, réparait Mosollam, fils de Barachie, devant sa demeure.
31 After him fortified Malchiah the goldesmiths sonne, vntil the house of the Nethinims, and of ye marchants ouer against the gate Miphkad, and to the chamber in the corner.
Après lui, réparait Melchias, de la corporation des orfèvres, jusqu’à l’habitation des Nathinéens et des marchands, devant la porte de Miphcad, et jusqu’à la chambre haute du tournant.
32 And betweene the chamber of the corner vnto the sheepegate fortified the goldesmithes and the marchantes.
Et, entre la chambre haute du tournant et la porte des Brebis, réparaient les orfèvres et les marchands.
