Nehemiah 13

1 And on that day did they reade in the booke of Moses, in the audience of the people, and it was found written therein, that the Ammonite, and the Moabite should not enter into the Congregation of God,

௧அன்றையதினம் மக்கள் கேட்க, மோசேயின் புத்தகத்தை வாசித்தார்கள்; அதிலே அம்மோனியர்களும் மோவாபியர்களும், இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு அப்பமும் தண்ணீரும் கொடுக்க எதிர்கொண்டுவராமல், அவர்களைச் சபிக்க அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பிலேயாமைக் கூலிக்கு அமர்த்திக்கொண்டதால்,

2 Because they met not the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, that he should curse them: and our God turned the curse into a blessing.

௨அவர்கள் என்றைக்கும், அந்தச் சாபத்தை ஆசீர்வாதமாகத் திருப்பின எங்கள் தேவனுடைய சபைக்கு வரக்கூடாது என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதாகக் காணப்பட்டது.

3 Now when they had heard the Lawe, they separated from Israel all those that were mixed.

௩ஆகையால் அவர்கள் அந்தக் கட்டளையைக் கேட்டபோது, பற்பல தேசத்தின் மக்களையெல்லாம் இஸ்ரவேலைவிட்டுப் பிரித்துவிட்டார்கள்.

4 And before this had the Priest Eliashib the ouersight of the chamber of the house of our God, being kinsman to Tobiah:

௪இதற்குமுன்னே எங்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் அறைகளுக்குப் பொறுப்பாளனாக வைக்கப்பட்ட ஆசாரியனாகிய எலியாசிப் தொபியாவோடு இணைந்தவனாயிருந்து,

5 And he had made him a great chamber and there had they aforetime layde the offringes, the incense, and the vessels, and the tithes of corne, of wine, and of oyle (appointed for the Leuites, and the singers, and the porters) and the offringes of the Priests.

௫முற்காலத்தில் காணிக்கைகளும், சாம்பிராணியும், ஆலயப் பணிபொருட்களும், லேவியர்களுக்கும், பாடகர்களுக்கும், வாசல் காவலாளர்களுக்கும் ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட தானியம் திராட்சைரசம் எண்ணெய் என்பவைகளிலே தசமபாகமும், ஆசாரியர்களைச் சேருகிற படைப்பான காணிக்கைகளும் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த இடத்தில் ஒரு பெரிய அறையை அவனுக்கு ஆயத்தம்செய்திருந்தான்.

6 But in all this time was not I in Ierusalem: for in the two and thirtieth yere of Artahshashte King of Babel, came I vnto the King, and after certaine dayes I obteined of the King.

௬இதெல்லாம் நடக்கும்போது நான் எருசலேமில் இல்லை; பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய அர்தசஷ்டாவின் முப்பத்திரண்டாம் வருடத்திலே நான் ராஜாவிடத்திற்குபோய், சில நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு திரும்ப ராஜாவிடத்தில் அனுமதி பெற்றுக்கொண்டு,

7 And when I was come to Ierusalem, I vnderstood the euil that Eliashib had done for Tobiah, in that hee had made him a chamber in the court of the house of God,

௭எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தேன்; அப்பொழுது எலியாசிப் தொபியாவுக்கு தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்து வளாகங்களில் ஒரு அறையை ஆயத்தம்செய்ததால், செய்த தீங்கை அறிந்துகொண்டேன்.

8 And it grieued me sore: therefore I cast forth all the vessels of the house of Tobiah out of the chamber.

௮அதனால் நான் மிகவும் மனம் வருந்தி. தொபியாவின் வீட்டுப்பொருட்களையெல்லாம் அந்த அறையிலிருந்து வெளியே எறிந்துவிட்டேன்.

9 And I commanded them to clense ye chambers: and thither brought I againe the vessels of the house of God with the meate offring and the incense.

௯பின்பு நான் அறைவீடுகளைச் சுத்தம் செய்யச்சொல்லி, தேவனுடைய ஆலயப்பொருட்களையும் காணிக்கைகளையும் சாம்பிராணியையும் அங்கே திரும்பக் கொண்டுவந்து வைத்தேன்.

10 And I perceiued that the portions of the Leuites had not bene giuen, and that euery one was fled to his lande, euen the Leuites and singers that executed the worke.

௧0பின்னும் லேவியர்களுக்கு ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட வேலைகள் அவர்களுக்கு கொடுக்கப்படவில்லையென்பதையும், வேலை செய்கிற லேவியர்களும் பாடகர்களும் அவரவர் தங்களுடைய விளைநிலங்களுக்கு ஓடிப்போனார்கள் என்பதையும் நான் அறிந்துகொண்டேன்.

11 Then reproued I the rulers and sayd, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I assembled them, and set them in their place.

௧௧அப்பொழுது நான் தலைமையானவர்களோடு வாதாடி, தேவனுடைய ஆலயம் ஏன் கைவிடப்படவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லி, அவர்களைச் சேர்த்து, அவரவர் பொறுப்பில் அவர்களை வைத்தேன்.

12 Then brought all Iudah the tithes of corne and of wine, and of oyle vnto the treasures.

௧௨அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள் எல்லோரும் தானியம் திராட்சைரசம் எண்ணெய் என்பவைகளில் தசமபாகத்தைப் பொக்கிஷ அறைகளில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

13 And I made treasurers ouer the treasures, Shelemiah the Priest, and Zadok the scribe, and of the Leuites, Pedaiah, and vnder their hande Hanan the sonne of Zaccur the sonne of Mattaniah: for they were counted faithfull, and their office was to distribute vnto their brethren.

௧௩அப்பொழுது நான் ஆசாரியனாகிய செலேமியாவையும், வேதபாரகனாகிய சாதோக்கையும், லேவியர்களில் பெதாயாவையும், இவர்களுக்குக் கைத்துணையாக மத்தனியாவின் மகன் சக்கூரின் மகனாகிய ஆனானையும் பொக்கிஷ அறைகளின்மேல் பொருளாளர்களாக வைத்தேன்; அவர்கள் உண்மையுள்ளவர்கள் என்று எண்ணப்பட்டார்கள்; ஆகையால் தங்கள் சகோதரர்களுக்கு ஒதுக்கப்படும் வேலை அவர்களுக்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.

14 Remember me, O my God, herein, and wipe not out my kindenes that I haue shewed on the house of my God, and on the offices thereof.

௧௪என்னுடைய தேவனே, நான் என் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்காகவும் அதின் முறைமைகளுக்காகவும் செய்த நற்செயல்களை அழித்துப்போடாமல், இந்தக் காரியத்திலே என்னை நினைத்தருளும்.

15 In those dayes saw I in Iudah them, that trode wine presses on ye Sabbath, and that brought in sheaues, and which laded asses also with wine, grapes, and figges, and all burdens, and brought them into Ierusalem vpon the Sabbath day: and I protested to them in the day that they sold vitailes.

௧௫அந்த நாட்களில் நான் யூதாவிலே ஓய்வுநாளில் சிலர் ஆலைகளில் மிதிக்கிறதையும், சிலர் தானியப் பொதிகளைக் கழுதைகள்மேல் ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு வருகிறதையும், திராட்சைரசம், திராட்சைப்பழம், அத்திப்பழம் முதலானவைகளின் பற்பல சுமைகளை ஓய்வுநாளிலே எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுவருகிறதையும் பார்த்து, அவர்கள் தின்பண்டம் விற்கிற நாளைப்பற்றி அவர்களை மிகவும் கடிந்துகொண்டேன்.

16 There dwelt men of Tyrus also therein, which brought fish and all wares, and solde on the Sabbath vnto the children of Iudah euen in Ierusalem.

௧௬மீனையும், சகலவித சரக்குகளையும் கொண்டுவந்து, ஓய்வுநாளிலே யூதா மக்களுக்கும் எருசலேமில் இருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் விற்கிற சில தீரு பட்டணத்தார்களும் உள்ளே குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

17 Then reprooued I the rulers of Iudah, and sayd vnto them, What euil thing is this that yee doe, and breake the Sabbath day?

௧௭ஆகையால் நான் யூதாவின் பெரியவர்களைக் கடிந்துகொண்டு: நீங்கள் ஓய்வுநாளைப் பரிசுத்தக் குலைச்சலாக்குகிற இந்தப் பொல்லாத செயலைச் செய்கிறதென்ன?

18 Did not your fathers thus, and our God brought all this plague vpon vs, and vpon this citie? yet yee increase the wrath vpon Israel, in breaking the Sabbath.

௧௮உங்கள் பிதாக்கள் இப்படிச் செய்ததினாலல்லவா நமது தேவன் நம்மேலும், இந்த நகரத்தின்மேலும் இந்தத் தீங்கையெல்லாம் வரச்செய்தார்; நீங்களோவென்றால் ஓய்வுநாளைப் பரிசுத்தக் குலைச்சலாக்குகிறதினால், இஸ்ரவேலின் மேலிருக்கிற கடுங்கோபத்தை அதிகரிக்கச்செய்கிறீர்கள் என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன்.

19 And when the gates of Ierusalem beganne to be darke before the Sabbath, I commaded to shut the gates, and charged, that they should not be opened til after the Sabbath, and some of my seruants set I at the gates, that there shoulde no burden be brought in on the Sabbath day.

௧௯ஆகையால் ஓய்வுநாளுக்கு முன்னே எருசலேமின் பட்டணவாசலில் மாலைமறையும்போது, கதவுகளைப் பூட்டவும் ஓய்வுநாள் முடியும்வரை அவைகளைத் திறக்காமல் இருக்கவும் வேண்டுமென்று கட்டளையிட்டு ஓய்வுநாளிலே ஒரு சுமையும் உள்ளே வராமல் வாசலருகில் என்னுடைய வேலைக்காரர்களில் சிலரை நிறுத்தினேன்.

20 So the chapmen and marchants of al marchandise remained once or twise all night without Ierusalem.

௨0அதனால் வர்த்தகர்களும், சகலவித சரக்குகளை விற்கிறவர்களும் இரண்டொருமுறை எருசலேமுக்கு வெளியே இரவுதங்கினார்கள்.

21 And I protested among them, and said vnto them, Why tary ye all night about the wall? If ye do it once againe, I will lay hands vpon you. from that time came they no more on the Sabbath.

௨௧அப்பொழுது நான் அவர்களை மிகவும் கடிந்துகொண்டு, நீங்கள் மதில் அருகில் இரவு தங்குகிறது என்ன? நீங்கள் மறுபடியும் இப்படி செய்தால், உங்களை கைது செய்வேன் என்று அவர்களோடே சொன்னேன்; அதுமுதல் அவர்கள் ஓய்வுநாளில் வராமலிருந்தார்கள்.

22 And I sayde vnto the Leuites, that they should clense themselues, and that they shoulde come and keepe the gates, to sanctifie the Sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and pardon me according to thy great mercy.

௨௨ஓய்வுநாளைப் பரிசுத்தமாக்க உங்களைச் சுத்தம்செய்துகொண்டு வாசல்களைக் காக்க வாருங்கள் என்று லேவியர்களுக்கும் சொன்னேன். என்னுடைய தேவனே, இதைக்குறித்து நீர் என்னை நினைத்தருளி, உம்முடைய மிகுந்த கிருபையினால் எனக்கு இரங்குவீராக.

23 In those dayes also I saw Iewes that married wiues of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab.

௨௩அஸ்தோத், அம்மோன், மோவாப் ஜாதிகளான பெண்களைச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்ட சில யூதர்களையும் அந்த நாட்களில் கண்டேன்.

24 And their children spake halfe in ye speach of Ashdod, and could not speake in the Iewes language, and according to the language of the one people, and of the other people.

௨௪அவர்களுடைய பிள்ளைகள் பேசின பேச்சில் பாதி அஸ்தோத் மொழியாக இருந்தது; இவர்கள் அவரவர்களுடைய மொழியைத்தவிர யூதமொழியைத் தெளிவாகப் பேச அறியாதிருந்தார்கள்.

25 Then I reprooued them, and cursed them, and smote certaine of them, and pulled off their heare, and tooke an othe of them by God, Yee shall not giue your daughters vnto their sonnes, neither shall ye take of their daughters vnto your sonnes, nor for your selues.

௨௫அவர்களையும் நான் கடிந்துகொண்டு அவர்கள்மேல் வரும் சாபத்தைக் கூறி, அவர்களில் சிலரை அடித்து, மயிரைப் பிய்த்து: நீங்கள் உங்கள் மகள்களை அவர்களுடைய மகன்களுக்குக் கொடுக்காமலும், அவர்களுடைய மகள்களில் ஒருவரையும் உங்கள் மகன்களுக்காவது உங்களுக்காவது எடுக்காமலும் இருக்கவேண்டுமென்று அவர்களை தேவன்மேல் ஆணையிடச்செய்து, நான் அவர்களை நோக்கி:

26 Did not Salomon the king of Israel sinne by these thinges? yet among many nations was there no King like him: for he was beloued of his God, and God had made him King ouer Israel: yet strange women caused him to sinne.

௨௬இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் இதினாலே பாவம்செய்தானல்லவா? அவனைப்போன்ற ராஜா அநேகம் தேசங்களுக்குள்ளே இருந்ததில்லை; அவன் தன்னுடைய தேவனால் சிநேகிக்கப்பட்டவனாக இருந்தான்; தேவன் அவனை இஸ்ரவேலனைத்தின் மேலும் ராஜாவாக வைத்தார்; அப்படிப்பட்டவனையும் யூதரல்லாத பெண்கள் பாவம் செய்யவைத்தார்களே.

27 Shall wee then obey vnto you, to doe all this great euil, and to transgresse against our God, euen to marry strange wiues?

௨௭நீங்கள் யூதரல்லாத பெண்களைச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்வதால், நம்முடைய தேவனுக்குத் துரோகிகளாகி, இந்தப் பெரிய தீங்கை எல்லாம் செய்ய, உங்களுக்கு இடங்கொடுப்போமோ என்றேன்.

28 And one of the sonnes of Ioiada the sonne of Eliashib the hie Priest was the sonne in law of Sanballat the Horonite: but I chased him from me.

௨௮யொயதாவின் மகன்களிலே பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய எலியாசிபினுடைய மகன் ஒருவன் ஓரோனியனான சன்பல்லாத்திற்கு மருமகனானான்; ஆகையால் அவனை என்னைவிட்டுத் துரத்தினேன்.

29 Remember them, O my God, that defile the Priesthoode, and the couenant of the Priesthoode, and of the Leuites.

௨௯என்னுடைய தேவனே, அவர்கள் ஆசாரிய ஊழியத்தையும், ஆசாரிய ஊழியத்திற்கும் லேவியர்களுக்கும் இருக்கிற உடன்படிக்கையையும் கறைப்படுத்தினார்கள் என்று அவர்களை நினைத்துக்கொள்ளும்.

30 Then cleansed I them from all strangers, and appoynted the wardes of the Priestes and of the Leuites, euery one in his office,

௩0இப்படியே நான் யூதரல்லாதவர்களையெல்லாம் நீக்கி, ஆசாரியர்களையும் லேவியர்களையும் சுத்திகரித்து, அவரவரை அவர்கள் வேலையின் பொறுப்புகளில் நிறுத்தி,

31 And for the offring of the wood at times appoynted, and for the first fruites. Remember me, O my God, in goodnes.

௩௧குறிக்கப்பட்ட காலங்களிலே செலுத்தப்படவேண்டிய விறகு காணிக்கையையும், முதற்பலன்களையுங்குறித்துத் திட்டமிட்டேன். என்னுடைய தேவனே எனக்கு நன்மையுண்டாக என்னை நினைத்தருளும்.
