Nehemiah 12
1 These also are the Priestes and the Leuites that went vp with Zerubbabel, the sonne of Shealtiel, and Ieshua: to wit, Seraiah, Ieremiah, Ezra,
Et voici les prêtres et les lévites qui étaient revenus avec Zorobabel, fils de Salathiel et Josué: Saraïa, Jérémie, Esdras,
2 Amariah, Malluch, Hattush,
Amarias, Maluch,
3 Shecaniah, Rehum, Merimoth,
Sechénias;
4 Iddo, Ginnetho, Abiiah,
Tels étaient les princes des prêtres, et leurs frères du temps de Josué.
5 Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,
Tels étaient les princes des prêtres, et leurs frères du temps de Josué.
6 Shemaiah, and Ioiarib, Iedaiah,
Tels étaient les princes des prêtres, et leurs frères du temps de Josué.
7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiiah, Iedaiah: these were the chiefe of the Priests, and of their brethren in the dayes of Ieshua.

8 And the Leuites, Ieshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Iudah, Mattaniah were ouer the thankesgiuings, he, and his brethren.
Et les lévites étaient Josué, Banuï, Cadmiel, Sarabia, Joad, Matthanias (celui-ci dirigeait les chants, et leurs frères étaient désignés
9 And Bakbukiah and Vnni, and their brethren were about them in the watches.

10 And Ieshua begate Ioiakim: Ioiakim also begate Eliashib, and Eliashib begate Ioiada.
Or, Josué engendra Joacim, et Joacim engendra Eliasib, et Eliasib engendra Joad,
11 And Ioiada begate Ionathan, and Ionathan begate Iaddua,
Et Joad engendra Jonathas, et Jonathas engendra Jadu.
12 And in the daies of Ioiakim were these, the chiefe fathers of the Priests: vnder Seraiah was Meraiah, vnder Ieremiah, Hananiah,
Et du temps de Joacim, ses frères, les prêtres et les chefs des familles paternelles, étaient, savoir: De la famille de Saraïa, Amarias; de celle de Jérémie, Ananias;
13 Vnder Ezra, Meshullam, vnder Amariah, Iehohanan,
De celle d'Esdras, Mesulam; de celle d'Amarias, Johanan;
14 Vnder Melicu, Ionathan, vnder Shebaniah, Ioseph,
De celle d'Amaluch, Jonathas; de celle de Sechénias, Joseph;
15 Vnder Harim, Adna, vnder Maraioth, Helkai,
De celle d'Aré, Mannas; de celle de Marioth, Elcaï;
16 Vnder Iddo, Zechariah, vnder Ginnithon, Meshullam,
De celle d'Adadaï, Zacharie; de celle de Ganathoth, Mesolam;
17 Vnder Abiiah, Zichri, vnder Miniamin, and vnder Moadiah, Piltai,
De celle d'Abias, Zéchri; de celle de Miamin, Maadaï; de celle de Phéléthi;
18 Vnder Bilgah, Shammua, vnder Shemaiah, Iehonathan,
De la famille de Balgas, Samué; de celle de Semias, Jonathan;
19 Vnder Ioiarib, Mattenai, vnder Iedaiah, Vzzi,
De celle de Joarib, Matthanaï; de celle d'Edio, Ozi;
20 Vnder Sallai, Kallai, vnder Amok, Eber,
De celle de Salaï, Callaï; de celle d'Amec, Abed;
21 Vnder Hilkiah, Hashabiah, vnder Iedaiah, Nethaneel.
De celle d'Elcias, Asabias; de celle de Jedeïu, Nathanaël;
22 In the dayes of Eliashib, Ioiada, and Iohanan and Iaddua were the chiefe fathers of the Leuites written, and the Priests in the reigne of Darius the Persian.
Les lévites du temps d'Eliasib étaient Joad, Joas, Johanan et Idua, inscrits comme chefs de familles, ainsi que les prêtres sous le règne de Darius le Perse.
23 The sonnes of Leui, the chiefe fathers were written in the booke of the Chronicles euen vnto the dayes of Iohanan the sonne of Eliashib.
Les fils de Lévi, chefs de familles paternelles, ont été inscrits dans le livre du récit de ces temps, jusqu'aux jours de Johanan, fils d'Elisué.
24 And the chiefe of the Leuites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Ieshua the sonne of Kadmiel, and their brethren about them to giue prayse and thankes, according to the ordinance of Dauid the man of God, ward ouer against warde.
Et les chefs des lévites étaient Asabia, et Sarabia, et Josué, et les fils de Cadmiel et leurs frères, se tenaient devant eux lorsqu'ils chantaient les louanges du Seigneur, journellement comme l'avait prescrit David, homme de Dieu.
25 Mattaniah and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon and Akkub were porters keeping the warde at the thresholds of the gates.
Je ressemblai aussi les portiers,
26 These were in the dayes of Ioiakim, the sonne of Ieshua, the sonne of Iozadak, and in the dayes of Nehemiah the captaine, and of Ezra the Priest and scribe.
Du temps de Joacim, fils de Josué, fils de Josédec, et du temps de Néhémias, et alors Esdras était prêtre et scribe.
27 And in the dedication of the wall at Ierusalem they sought the Leuites out of all their places to bring them to Ierusalem to keepe the dedication and gladnes, both with thankesgiuings and with songs, cymbales, violes and with harpes.
Et lorsque l'on fit la dédicace des murs de Jérusalem, on chercha les lévites en leurs résidences pour les amener à Jérusalem, et faire la fête de la dédicace et les réjouissances, avec des actions de grâces et des chants accompagnés de harpes et de cymbales,
28 Then the singers gathered themselues together both from the plaine countrey about Ierusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi,
Et les fils des chantres vinrent de la banlieue de Jérusalem, et de ses villages,
29 And from the house of Gilgal, and out of the countreis of Geba, and Azmaueth: for the singers had built them villages round about Ierusalem.
Et de ses campagnes, car ils s'étaient bâti des demeures autour de Jérusalem.
30 And the Priests and Leuites were purified, and clensed the people, and the gates, and the wall.
Et les prêtres et les lévites, après s'être purifiés, purifièrent le peuple, et les portiers, et les remparts.
31 And I brought vp the princes of Iudah vpon the wall, and appointed two great companies to giue thankes, and the one went on the right hand of the wall toward the dung gate.
Et l'on fit monter les princes de Juda sur le rempart avec deux chœurs, pour chanter des actions de grâces à Dieu, et ils tournèrent sur le rempart à droite se dirigeant vers la porte du Fumier.
32 And after them went Hoshaiah, and halfe of the princes of Iudah,
Et derrière les chantres marchaient Osaïas et la moitié des princes de Juda,
33 And Azariah, Ezra and Meshullam,
Et Azarias, Esdras, Mesollam,
34 Iudah, Beniamin, and Shemaiah, and Ieremiah,
Juda, Benjamin, Samaïas et Jérémie,
35 And of the Priests sonnes with trumpets, Zechariah the sonne of Ionathan, the sonne of Shemaiah, the sonne of Mattaniah, the sonne of Michaiah, the sonne of Zaccur, ye sonne of Asaph.
Et des fils des prêtres avec les trompettes: Zacharie, fils de Jonathas, fils de Samaïas, fils de Matthanias, fils de Michée, fils de Zacchur, fils d'Asaph,
36 And his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azareel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and Iudah, Hanani, with the musicall instruments of Dauid the man of God: and Ezra the scribe went before them.
Et ses frères Samaïas, Oziel et Gelod, Jama, Aïas, Nathanaël, Juda et Anani, et ils chantaient les cantiques de David, homme de Dieu; et Esdras, le scribe, les avait devancés
37 And to the gate of the fountaine, euen ouer against them went they vp by the staires of the citie of Dauid, at the going vp of the wall beyond the house of Dauid, euen vnto the water gate Eastward.
Sur la porte pour chanter devant eux les louanges du Seigneur. Et ils montèrent par les degrés de la ville de David sur le mur, au-dessus du palais de ce roi, et ils allèrent jusqu'à la porte des Eaux à l'Est [d'Elihrem; ]
38 And the seconde companie of them that gaue thankes, went on the other side, and I after them, and the halfe of the people was vpon the wall, and vpon the towre of the furnaces euen vnto the broad wall.
Et le second chœur marcha du côté opposé, et je le suivais, moi et la moitié du peuple, sur la muraille, au-dessus de la tour des Fours, jusqu'à la muraille large.
39 And vpon the gate of Ephraim, and vpon the olde gate, and vpon the fishgate, and the towre of Hananeel, and the towre of Meah, euen vnto the sheepegate: and they stood in the gate of the warde.
Au dessus de la tour d'Ephraïm,
40 So stood the two companies (of them that gaue thankes) in the house of God, and I and the halfe of the rulers with me.
Et les deux chœurs s'arrêtèrent dans la maison de Dieu, ainsi que moi et la moitié des magistrats, qui m'accompagnait.
41 The Priests also, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, Hananiah, with trumpets,
Et les sacrificateurs Eliakim, Maaséia, Minjamin, Micaïa, Eljoénaï, Zacharie, Hanania avec des trompettes.
42 And Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Vzzi, and Iehohanan, and Malchiiah, and Elam, and Ezer: and the singers sang loude, hauing Izrahiah which was the ouerseer.
et Maaséia et Sémaïa et Eléazar et Uzzi et Johanan et Malkija et Elam et Ezer, et les chantres furent entendus et comptés.
43 And the same day they offered great sacrifices and reioyced: for God had giuen them great ioy, so that both the women, and the children were ioyfull: and the ioy of Ierusalem was heard farre off.
Et ce jour-là, on immola de nombreuses victimes et la joie était grande, car Dieu les avait grandement réjouis, et leurs femmes et leurs enfants prenaient part à ces réjouissances, et les cris joyeux de Jérusalem s'entendaient au loin.
44 Also at the same time were men appointed ouer the chambers of the store for the offerings (for the first fruites, and for the tithes) to gather into them out of the fieldes of the cities, the portions of the Law for the Priests and the Leuites: for Iudah reioyced for the Priests and for the Leuites, that serued.
Et ce jour-là, on institua des gardiens des trésors, des prémices et des dîmes, et des hommes pour les recueillir dans les villes, et on les choisit parmi les prêtres et les lévites; car Juda se réjouissait d'avoir vu les lévites et les prêtres reprendre leurs fonctions.
45 And both the singers and the Leuites kept the ward of their God, and the warde of the purification according to the commandement of Dauid, and Salomon his sonne.
Et l'on remit en vigueur les règlements de David et de Salomon, son fils, concernant les purifications, ainsi que les chantres et les portiers.
46 For in the dayes of Dauid and Asaph, of olde were chiefe singers, and songs of praise and thankesgiuing vnto God.
Car, du temps de David, Asaph était à la tête des chantres, et de ceux qui célébraient le Seigneur.
47 And in the dayes of Zerubbabel, and in the dayes of Nehemiah did al Israel giue portions vnto the singers and porters, euerie day his portion, and they gaue the holy things vnto the Leuites, and the Leuites gaue the holy things vnto the sonnes of Aaron.
Et du temps de Zorobabel et de Néhémias, tout le peuple d'Israël assigna des parts aux chantres et aux portiers; on les leur distribuait chaque jour. On donnait aussi aux lévites ce qui leur était dû de la chair des sacrifices, et les lévites donnaient aux fils d'Aaron la part qui leur en revenait.
