Nehemiah 11
1 And the rulers of the people dwelt in Ierusalem: the other people also cast lottes, to bring one out of ten to dwel in Ierusalem the holy citie, and nine partes to be in the cities.
Les notables parmi le peuple s’établirent à Jérusalem; le reste du peuple désigna, par la voie du sort, un sur dix pour habiter Jérusalem, la ville sainte, neuf dixièmes restant dans les autres villes.
2 And the people thanked all the men that were willing to dwell in Ierusalem.
Le peuple bénit tous les hommes qui s’offraient d’eux-mêmes à habiter Jérusalem.
3 These now are the chiefe of the prouince, that dwelt in Ierusalem, but in the cities of Iudah, euery one dwelt in his owne possession in their cities of Israel, the Priestes and the Leuites, and the Nethinims, and the sonnes of Salomons seruants.
Voici les chefs de la province qui se fixèrent à Jérusalem; quant aux villes de Juda, chacun s’était établi dans sa propriété, dans sa ville respective, Israélites, prêtres, Lévites, serviteurs du temple et descendants des esclaves de Salomon.
4 And in Ierusalem dwelt certaine of the children of Iudah, and of the children of Beniamin. Of the sonnes of Iudah, Athaiah, the sonne of Vziiah, the sonne of Zechariah, the sonne of Amariah, the sonne of Shephatiah, the sonne of Mahaleel, of the sonnes of Perez,
A Jérusalem s’établirent donc une partie des enfants de Juda et des enfants de Benjamin des enfants de Juda: Ataïa, fils d’Ouzzia, fils de Zacharie, fils d’Amaria, fils de Chefatia, fils de Mahalalel, descendants de Péreç;
5 And Maaseiah the sonne of Baruch, the sonne of Col Hozeh, the sonne of Hazaiah, the sonne of Adaiah, the sonne of Ioiarib, the sonne of Zechariah, the sonne of Shiloni.
Maassèya, fils de Baruch, fils de Kol-Hozé, fils de Hazaïa, fils d’Adaïa, fils de Yoyarib, fils de Zacharie, fils de Chiloni.
6 All the sonnes of Perez that dwelt at Ierusalem, were foure hundreth, three score and eight valiant men.
Tous les descendants de Péreç, établis à Jérusalem, étaient au nombre de quatre-cent soixante-huit, tous hommes vaillants.
7 These also are the sonnes of Beniamin, Sallu, the sonne of Meshullam, the sonne of Ioed, the sonne of Pedaiah, the sonne of Kolaiah, the sonne of Maaseiah, the sonne of Ithiel, the sonne of Ieshaiah.
Voici les enfants de Benjamin: Sallou, fils de Mechoullam, fils de Joëd, fils de Pedaïa, fils de Kolaïa, fils de Maassèya, fils d’Itiël, fils d’Isaïe;
8 And after him Gabai, Sallai, nine hundreth and twentie and eight.
après lui, Gabbaï, Sallaï, au nombre de neuf cent vingt-huit;
9 And Ioel the sonne of Zichri was gouernour ouer them: and Iudah, the sonne of Senuah was the second ouer the citie:
Joël, fils de Zikhri, était leur chef, et Juda, fils de Hassenoua, commandait la ville en second.
10 Of the Priestes, Iedaiah, the sonne of Ioiarib, Iachin.
Parmi les prêtres: Yedaïa, fils de Joyarib, Yakhîn;
11 Seraiah, the sonne of Hilkiah, the sonne of Meshullam, the sonne of Zadok, the sonne of Meraioth, the sonne of Ahitub was chiefe of the house of God.
Seraïa, fils de Hilkia, fils de Mechoullam, fils de Çadok, fils de Meraïot, fils d’Ahitoub préposé au temple de Dieu;
12 And their brethren that did the worke in the Temple, were eight hundreth, twenty and two: and Adaiah, the sonne of Ieroham, the sonne of Pelaliah, the sonne of Amzi, the sonne of Zechariah, the sonne of Pashur, the sonne of Malchiah:
leurs frères, chargés de la besogne du temple, au nombre de huit cent vingt-deux; Adaïa, fils de Yeroham, fils de Pelalia, fils d’Amci, fils de Zacharie, fils de Pachhour, fils de Malkia;
13 And his brethren, chiefe of the fathers, two hundreth and two and fourtie: and Amashsai the sonne of Azareel, the sonne of Ahazai, the sonne of Meshilemoth, the sonne of Immer:
ses frères, chefs de famille, au nombre de deux cent quarante-deux; Amachsaï, fils d’Azarel, fils d’Ahzaï, fils de Mechillêmot, fils d’Immêr;
14 And their brethren valiant men, an hundreth and eight and twentie: and their ouerseer was Zabdiel the sonne of Hagedolim.
leurs frères, tous hommes vaillants, au nombre de cent vingt-huit. Le chef qui les dirigeait était Zabdiêl, fils de Haggedolîm.
15 And of the Leuites, Shemaiah, the sonne of Hashub, the sonne of Azrikam, the sonne of Hashabiah, the sonne of Bunni.
Parmi les Lévites: Chemaïa, fils de Hachoub, fils d’Azrikâm, fils de Hachabia, fils de Bounni;
16 And Shabbethai, and Iozabad of the chiefe of the Leuites were ouer the workes of the house of God without.
Chabbetaï, Yozabad, préposés aux travaux extérieurs de la maison de Dieu, comme faisant partie des chefs des Lévites;
17 And Mattaniah, the sonne of Micha, the sonne of Zabdi, the sonne of Asaph was the chiefe to begin the thankesgiuing and prayer: and Bakbukiah the second of his brethren, and Abda, the sonne of Shammua, the sonne of Galal, the sonne of Ieduthun.
Mattania, fils de Mikha, fils de Zabdi, fils d’Assaph qui était le coryphée entonnant les eulogies pendant la prière Bakboukia, son second parmi ses frères, Abda, fils de Chammoua, fils de Galal, fils de Yedouthoun.
18 All the Leuites in the holy citie were two hundreth foure score and foure.
Tous les Lévites, dans la ville sainte, étaient au nombre de deux cent quatre-vingt-quatre.
19 And the porters Akkub, Talmon and their brethren that kept the gates, were an hundreth twentie and two.
Les portiers, Akkoub, Talmôn et leurs frères, qui étaient de garde aux portes, atteignaient le nombre de cent soixante-douze.
20 And the residue of Israel, of the Priests, and of the Leuites dwelt in al the cities of Iudah, euery one in his inheritance.
Le reste des Israélites, les prêtres, les Lévites demeuraient dans toutes les villes de Juda, chacun dans sa propriété.
21 And the Nethinims dwelt in the fortresse, and Ziha, and Gispa was ouer the Nethinims.
Les serviteurs du temple étaient établis sur la colline fortifiée, leurs chefs étant Ciha et Ghichpa.
22 And the ouerseer of the Leuites in Ierusalem was Vzzi the sonne of Bani, the sonne of Ashabiah, the sonne of Mattaniah, the sonne of Micha: of the sonnes of Asaph singers were ouer the worke of the house of God.
Le chef des Lévites à Jérusalem était Ouzzi, fils de Bâni, fils de Hachabia, fils de Mattania, fils de Mikha, faisant partie des descendants d’Assaph, les chanteurs, chargés du service intérieur de la maison de Dieu;
23 For it was the Kings commandement cocerning them, that faithfull prouision shoulde bee for the singers euery day.
car il existait un règlement royal à leur égard et un contrat assurant aux chanteurs l’entretien de chaque jour.
24 And Pethahiah the sonne of Meshezabeel, of the sonnes of Zerah, the sonne of Iudah was at the Kings hand in all matters concerning the people.
Petahia, fils de Mechêzabel, des descendants de Zérah, fils de Juda, était le mandataire du roi en tout ce qui concernait le peuple.
25 And in the villages in their landes, some of the children of Iudah dwelt in Kiriath-arba, and in the villages thereof, and in Dibon, and in the villages thereof, and in Iekabzeel. and in the villages thereof,
Quant aux bourgades avec leur banlieue, des descendants de Juda occupaient Kiryath-Arba et ses dépendances, Dibôn et ses dépendances, Yekabceêl et ses villages;
26 And in Ieshua, and in Moladah, and in Beth palet,
Yêchoua, Molada et Beth-Pélet;
27 And in Hazer-shual, and in Beer-sheba, and in the villages thereof,
Haçar-Choual, Bersabée et ses dépendances;
28 And in Ziklag, and in Mechonah, and in the villages thereof,
Ciklag, Mekhona et ses dépendances;
29 And in En-rimmon, and in Zareah, and in Iarmuth,
En-Rimmôn, Çorea et Yarmout:
30 Zanoah, Adullam, and in their villages, in Lachish, and in the fieldes thereof, at Azekah, and in the villages thereof: and they dwelt from Beer-sheba, vnto the valley of Hinnom.
Zanoah, Adoullam et leurs villages, Lakhich avec sa banlieue, Azêka avec ses dépendances; ils occupaient donc le pays depuis Beer Sheva jusqu’à la vallée de Hinnom.
31 And the sonnes of Beniamin from Geba, in Michmash, and Aiia, and Beth-el, and in the villages thereof,
Les descendants de Benjamin occupaient, en partant de Ghéba, Mikhmach, Aïa, Béthel et ses dépendances;
32 Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,
Anatot, Nob, Anania;
33 Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim,
Haçor, Rama, Ghittaïm;
34 Hadid, Zeboim, Nebalat,
Hadid, Ceboïm, Neballat;
35 Lod and Ono, in the carpenters valley.
Lod, Ono, la vallée des artisans.
36 And of the Leuites were diuisions in Iudah and in Beniamin.
Quelques-uns des Lévites demeuraient dans des parties de Juda rattachées à Benjamin.
