Nahum 3
1 O bloody citie, it is all full of lyes, and robberie: the pray departeth not:
Ai da cidade ensanguentada, que está toda cheia de mentiras e de rapina! não se aparta d'ella o roubo.
2 The noyse of a whippe, and the noyse of the mouing of the wheeles, and the beating of the horses, and the leaping of the charets.
Estrepito de açoite ha, e o estrondo do ruido das rodas; e os cavallos atropellam, e carros vão saltando.
3 The horseman lifteth vp both the bright sword, and the glittering speare, and a multitude is slaine, and the dead bodyes are many: there is none ende of their corpses: they stumble vpon their corpses,
O cavalleiro levanta assim a espada flammejante, como a lança relampagueante, e ali haverá uma multidão de mortos, e abundancia de cadaveres, e não terão fim os defuntos; tropeçarão nos seus corpos
4 Because of the multitude of the fornications of the harlot that is beautifull, and is a mistresse of witchcraft, and selleth the people thorow her whoredome, and the nations thorowe her witchcrafts.
Por causa da multidão das fornicações da meretriz mui graciosa, da mestra das feitiçarias, que vendeu os povos com as suas fornicações, e as gerações com as suas feitiçarias.
5 Beholde, I come vpon thee, saith the Lord of hostes, and will discouer thy skirtes vpon thy face, and will shewe the nations thy filthines, and the kingdomes thy shame.
Eis que eu estou contra ti, diz o Senhor dos Exercitos, e descobrirei as tuas fraldas sobre a tua face, e ás nações mostrarei a tua nudez, e aos reinos a tua vergonha.
6 And I will cast filth vpon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gasing stocke.
E lançarei sobre ti coisas abominaveis, e te envergonharei, e pôr-te-hei como espectaculo.
7 And it shall come to passe, that al they that looke vpon thee, shall flee from thee, and say, Nineueh is destroyed, who will haue pitie vpon her? where shall I seeke comforters for thee?
E ha de ser que, todos os que te virem, fugirão de ti, e dirão: Ninive está destruida, quem terá compaixão d'ella? d'onde te buscarei consoladores?
8 Art thou better then No, which was ful of people? that lay in the riuers, and had the waters round about it? whose ditche was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?
És tu melhor do que Nóammon, que está assentada nos rios, cercada de aguas, que tinha por esplanada o mar, cuja muralha é do mar
9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and there was none ende: Put and Lubim were her helpers.
Ethiopia e Egypto eram a sua força, e não havia fim: Put e Lybia te foram de soccorro.
10 Yet was she caried awaye, and went into captiuitie: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the head of all the streetes: and they cast lottes for her noble men, and al her myghtie men were bound in chaines.
Todavia foi levada captiva para o desterro: tambem os seus filhos são despedaçados no topo de todas as ruas, e sobre os seus honrados lançaram sortes, e todos os seus grandes foram presos com grilhões.
11 Also thou shalt bee drunken: thou shalt hide thy selfe, and shalt seeke helpe because of the enemie.
Tu tambem serás embriagada, e te esconderás; tambem buscarás força por causa do inimigo.
12 All thy strong cities shall be like figtrees with the first ripe figs: for if they be shaken, they fall into the mouth of the eater.
Todas as tuas fortalezas serão como figueiras com figos temporãos; se se sacodem, caem na bocca do que os ha de comer.
13 Beholde, thy people within thee are women: the gates of thy land shalbe opened vnto thine enemies, and ye fire shall deuoure thy barres.
Eis que o teu povo no meio de ti será como de mulheres: as portas da tua terra estarão de todo abertas aos teus inimigos: o fogo consumirá os teus ferrolhos.
14 Drawe thee waters for the siege: fortifie thy strong holdes: go into the clay, and temper the morter: make strong bricke.
Tira aguas para o cerco, fortifica as tuas fortalezas, entra no lodo, e pisa o barro, repara o forno dos ladrilhos.
15 There shall ye fire deuoure thee: the sword shall cut thee off: it shall eate thee vp like the locustes, though thou bee multiplied like the locustes, and multiplyed like the grashopper.
O fogo ali te consumirá, a espada te exterminará, te consumirá, como a locusta; multiplica-te como a locusta, multiplica-te como os gafanhotos.
16 Thou hast multiplied thy marchantes aboue the starres of heauen: the locust spoileth and flyeth away.
Multiplicaste os teus negociantes mais do que as estrellas do céu, a locusta se espalhará e voará.
17 Thy princes are as the grashoppers, and thy captaines as the great grashoppers which remaine in the hedges in the colde day: but when the sunne ariseth, they flee away and their place is not knowen where they are.
Os teus coroados são como os gafanhotos, e os teus chefes como os gafanhotos grandes, que se acampam nas sebes nos dias de frio; em subindo o sol voam, de sorte que não se conhece mais o logar onde estiveram.
18 Thy shepheardes doe sleepe, O King of Asshur: thy strong men lie downe: thy people is scattered vpon the mountaines, and no man gathereth them.
Os teus pastores dormitarão, ó rei da Assyria, os teus illustres deitar-se-hão, o teu povo se derramará pelos montes; sem que haja quem o ajunte.
19 There is no healing of thy wounde: thy plague is grieuous: all that heare the brute of thee, shall clap the handes ouer thee: for vpon whome hath not thy malice passed continually?
Não ha cura para a tua quebradura, a tua ferida é dolorosa: todos os que ouvirem a tua fama baterão as palmas sobre ti; porque, sobre quem não passou continuamente a tua malicia?
