Nahum 3
1 O bloody citie, it is all full of lyes, and robberie: the pray departeth not:
Wehe der mörderischen Stadt, die voll Lügen und Räuberei ist und von ihrem Rauben nicht lassen will!
2 The noyse of a whippe, and the noyse of the mouing of the wheeles, and the beating of the horses, and the leaping of the charets.
Denn da wird man hören die Geißeln klappen und die Räder rasseln und die Rosse schreien und die Wagen rollen.
3 The horseman lifteth vp both the bright sword, and the glittering speare, and a multitude is slaine, and the dead bodyes are many: there is none ende of their corpses: they stumble vpon their corpses,
Er bringet Reiter herauf mit glänzenden Schwertern und mit blitzenden Spießen. Da liegen viel Erschlagene und große Haufen Leichname, daß derselbigen keine Zahl ist und man über ihre Leichname fallen muß.
4 Because of the multitude of the fornications of the harlot that is beautifull, and is a mistresse of witchcraft, and selleth the people thorow her whoredome, and the nations thorowe her witchcrafts.
Das alles um der großen Hurerei willen der schönen lieben Hure, die mit Zauberei umgehet, die mit ihrer Hurerei die Heiden und mit ihrer Zauberei Land und Leute erworben hat.
5 Beholde, I come vpon thee, saith the Lord of hostes, and will discouer thy skirtes vpon thy face, and will shewe the nations thy filthines, and the kingdomes thy shame.
Siehe, ich will an dich, spricht der HERR Zebaoth! Ich will dir dein Gebräme aufdecken unter dein Angesicht und will den Heiden deine Blöße und den Königreichen deine Schande zeigen.
6 And I will cast filth vpon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gasing stocke.
Ich will dich ganz greulich machen und dich schänden und ein Scheusal aus dir machen,
7 And it shall come to passe, that al they that looke vpon thee, shall flee from thee, and say, Nineueh is destroyed, who will haue pitie vpon her? where shall I seeke comforters for thee?
daß alle, die dich sehen, von dir fliehen und sagen sollen: Ninive ist verstöret; wer will Mitleid mit ihr haben, und wo soll ich dir Tröster suchen?
8 Art thou better then No, which was ful of people? that lay in the riuers, and had the waters round about it? whose ditche was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?
Meinest du, du seiest besser denn die Stadt No der Regenten, die da lag an den Wassern und ringsumher Wasser hatte, welcher Mauern und Feste war das Meer?
9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and there was none ende: Put and Lubim were her helpers.
Mohren und Ägypten war ihre unzählige Macht, Put und Libyen waren deine Hilfe.
10 Yet was she caried awaye, and went into captiuitie: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the head of all the streetes: and they cast lottes for her noble men, and al her myghtie men were bound in chaines.
Noch hat sie müssen vertrieben werden und gefangen wegziehen, und sind ihre Kinder auf allen Gassen erschlagen worden; und um ihre Edlen warf man das Los, und alle ihre Gewaltigen wurden in Ketten und Fesseln gelegt.
11 Also thou shalt bee drunken: thou shalt hide thy selfe, and shalt seeke helpe because of the enemie.
Also mußt du auch trunken werden und dich verbergen und eine Feste suchen vor dem Feinde.
12 All thy strong cities shall be like figtrees with the first ripe figs: for if they be shaken, they fall into the mouth of the eater.
Alle deine festen Städte sind wie Feigenbäume mit reifen Feigen, wenn man sie schüttelt, daß sie dem ins Maul fallen, der sie essen will.
13 Beholde, thy people within thee are women: the gates of thy land shalbe opened vnto thine enemies, and ye fire shall deuoure thy barres.
Siehe, dein Volk soll zu Weibern werden in dir, und die Tore deines Landes sollen deinen Feinden geöffnet werden; und das Feuer soll deine Riegel verzehren.
14 Drawe thee waters for the siege: fortifie thy strong holdes: go into the clay, and temper the morter: make strong bricke.
Schöpfe dir Wasser, denn du wirst belagert werden; bessere deine Festen; gehe in den Ton und tritt den Leimen und mache starke Ziegel.
15 There shall ye fire deuoure thee: the sword shall cut thee off: it shall eate thee vp like the locustes, though thou bee multiplied like the locustes, and multiplyed like the grashopper.
Aber das Feuer wird dich fressen und das Schwert töten; es wird dich abfressen wie die Käfer, es wird dich überfallen wie Käfer, es wird dich überfallen wie Heuschrecken;
16 Thou hast multiplied thy marchantes aboue the starres of heauen: the locust spoileth and flyeth away.
Du hast mehr Händler, denn Sterne am Himmel sind; aber nun werden sie sich ausbreiten wie Käfer und davonfliegen.
17 Thy princes are as the grashoppers, and thy captaines as the great grashoppers which remaine in the hedges in the colde day: but when the sunne ariseth, they flee away and their place is not knowen where they are.
Deiner HERREN ist so viel als der Heuschrecken und deiner Hauptleute als der Käfer, die sich an die Zäune lagern in den kalten Tagen; wenn aber die Sonne aufgehet, heben sie sich davon, daß man nicht weiß, wo sie bleiben.
18 Thy shepheardes doe sleepe, O King of Asshur: thy strong men lie downe: thy people is scattered vpon the mountaines, and no man gathereth them.
Deine Hirten werden schlafen, o König zu Assur, deine Mächtigen werden sich legen und dein Volk wird auf den Bergen zerstreuet sein, und niemand wird sie versammeln.
19 There is no healing of thy wounde: thy plague is grieuous: all that heare the brute of thee, shall clap the handes ouer thee: for vpon whome hath not thy malice passed continually?
Niemand wird um deinen Schaden trauern, noch sich um deine Plage kränken, sondern alle, die solches von dir hören, werden mit ihren Händen über dich klappen. Denn über wen ist nicht deine Bosheit ohne Unterlaß gegangen?
