Matthew 7
1 Judge not, that ye be not iudged.
Ne jugez point, afin que vous ne soyez pas jugés.
2 Eor with what iudgement ye iudge, ye shall be iudged, and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you againe.
Car selon ce que vous aurez jugé, on vous jugera, et de la même mesure dont vous aurez mesuré, on vous mesurera.
3 And why seest thou the mote, that is in thy brothers eye, and perceiuest not the beame that is in thine owne eye?
Pourquoi regardes-tu la paille qui est dans l’œil de ton frère, et ne remarques-tu pas la poutre qui est dans ton œil?
4 Or howe sayest thou to thy brother, Suffer me to cast out the mote out of thine eye, and beholde, a beame is in thine owne eye?
Ou comment peux-tu dire à ton frère: Laisse-moi ôter la paille de ton œil, lorsqu’il y a une poutre dans le tien?
5 Hypocrite, first cast out that beame out of thine owne eye, and then shalt thou see clearely to cast out the mote out of thy brothers eye.
Hypocrite, ôte d’abord la poutre de ton œil, et alors tu verras à ôter la paille de l’œil de ton frère.
6 Giue ye not that which is holy, to dogges, neither cast ye your pearles before swine, lest they treade them vnder their feete, and turning againe, all to rent you.
Ne donnez pas aux chiens ce qui est saint, et ne jetez pas vos perles devant les pourceaux, de peur qu’ils ne les foulent aux pieds, et que, se tournant contre vous, ils ne vous déchirent.
7 Aske, and it shall be giuen you: seeke, and ye shall finde: knocke, and it shall be opened vnto you.
Demandez, et l’on vous donnera; cherchez et vous trouverez; frappez et l’on vous ouvrira.
8 For whosoeuer asketh, receiueth: and he, that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.
Car quiconque demande reçoit, qui cherche trouve, et l’on ouvrira à celui qui frappe.
9 For what man is there among you, which if his sonne aske him bread, woulde giue him a stone?
Qui de vous, si son fils lui demande du pain, lui donnera une pierre?
10 Or if he aske fish, wil he giue him a serpent?
Ou, s’il lui demande un poisson, lui donnera un serpent?
11 If ye then, which are euill, can giue to your children good giftes, howe much more shall your Father which is in heauen, giue good thinges to them that aske him?
Si donc vous, tout méchants que vous êtes, vous savez donner de bonnes choses à vos enfants, combien plus votre Père qui est dans les cieux donnera-t-il ce qui est bon à ceux qui le prient?
12 Therefore whatsoeuer ye woulde that men should doe to you, euen so doe ye to them: for this is the Lawe and the Prophets.
Ainsi donc tout ce que vous voulez que les hommes vous fassent, faites-le aussi pour eux; car c’est la Loi et les Prophètes.
13 Enter in at the streight gate: for it is the wide gate, and broade way that leadeth to destruction: and many there be which goe in thereat,
Entrez par la porte étroite; car la porte large et la voie spacieuse conduisent à la perdition, et nombreux sont ceux qui y passent;
14 Because the gate is streight, and the way narowe that leadeth vnto life, and fewe there be that finde it.
car elle est étroite la porte et resserrée la voie qui conduit à la vie, et il en est peu qui la trouvent!
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you, in sheepes clothing, but inwardly they are rauening wolues.
Gardez-vous des faux prophètes. Ils viennent à vous sous des vêtements de brebis, mais au dedans ce sont des loups ravissants.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruites. Doe men gather grapes of thornes? or figges of thistles?
Vous les reconnaîtrez à leurs fruits: cueille-t-on des raisins sur des épines, ou des figues sur des ronces?
17 So euery good tree bringeth foorth good fruite, and a corrupt tree bringeth forth euill fruite.
Ainsi tout bon arbre porte de bons fruits, et tout arbre mauvais de mauvais fruits.
18 A good tree can not bring forth euil fruite: neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruite.
Un bon arbre ne peut porter de mauvais fruits, ni un arbre mauvais porter de bons fruits.
19 Euery tree that bringeth not forth good fruite, is hewen downe, and cast into the fire.
Tout arbre qui ne porte pas de bons fruits sera coupé et jeté au feu.
20 Therefore by their fruites ye shall knowe them.
Vous les reconnaîtrez donc à leurs fruits.
21 Not euery one that sayeth vnto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdome of heauen, but he that doeth my Fathers will which is in heauen.
Ce ne sont pas tous ceux qui me disent: Seigneur, Seigneur, qui entreront dans le royaume des cieux, mais bien celui qui fait la volonté de mon Père qui est dans les cieux.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, haue we not by thy Name prophecied? and by thy name cast out deuils? and by thy name done many great workes?
Plusieurs me diront en ce jour-là: Seigneur, Seigneur, n’est-ce pas en ton nom que nous avons prophétisé? n’est-ce pas en ton nom que nous avons chassé les démons? et n’avons-nous pas, en ton nom, fait beaucoup de miracles?
23 And then will I professe to them, I neuer knewe you: depart from me, ye that worke iniquitie.
Alors je leur dirai hautement: Je ne vous ai jamais connus. Retirez-vous de moi, ouvriers d’iniquité.
24 Whosoeuer then heareth of mee these words, and doeth the same, I will liken him to a wise man, which hath builded his house on a rock:
Tout homme donc qui entend ces paroles que je viens de dire, et les met en pratique, sera comparé à un homme sage, qui a bâti sa maison sur la pierre.
25 And the raine fell, and the floods came, and the windes blewe, and beat vpon that house, and it fell not: for it was grounded on a rocke.
La pluie est tombée, les torrents sont venus, les vents ont soufflé et se sont déchaînés contre cette maison, et elle n’a pas été renversée, car elle était fondée sur la pierre.
26 But whosoeuer heareth these my wordes, and doeth them not, shall be likened vnto a foolish man, which hath builded his house vpon the sand:
Mais quiconque entend ces paroles que je dis, et ne les met pas en pratique, sera semblable à un insensé qui a bâti sa maison sur le sable.
27 And the raine fell, and the floods came, and the windes blewe, and beat vpon that house, and it fell, and the fall thereof was great.
La pluie est tombée, les torrents sont venus, les vents ont soufflé et ont battu cette maison, et elle a été renversée, et grande a été sa ruine. »
28 And it came to passe, when Iesus had ended these wordes, the people were astonied at his doctrine.
Jésus ayant achevé ce discours, le peuple était dans l’admiration de sa doctrine.
29 For he taught them as one hauing authoritie, and not as the Scribes.
Car il les enseignait comme ayant autorité, et non comme leurs scribes.
