< Matthew 3 >
1 And in those dayes, Iohn the Baptist came and preached in the wildernes of Iudea,
Bere a Yesu ne nʼawofo wɔ Nasaret no, Osuboni Yohane bɛkaa asɛm wɔ Yudea sare so se,
2 And said, Repent: for the kingdome of heauen is at hand.
“Monsakra mo adwene; momfa mo ho mma Onyankopɔn na ɔsoro ahenni no abɛn”
3 For this is he of whome it is spoken by the Prophet Esaias, saying, The voyce of him that crieth in the wildernes, Prepare ye the way of the Lord: make his pathes straight.
Yohane ne nea odiyifo Yesaia kaa ne ho asɛm se, “Obi nne reteɛ mu wɔ sare so se, ‘Mommɔ kwan mma Awurade; momma nʼatempɔn nteɛ!’”
4 And this Iohn had his garment of camels heare, and a girdle of a skinne about his loynes: his meate was also locusts and wilde hony.
Saa bere no na Yohane fura yoma ho nwi ntama bɔ aboa nhoma abɔso. Na nʼaduan yɛ mmoadabi ne ɛwo.
5 Then went out to him Ierusalem and all Iudea, and all the region rounde about Iordan.
Yerusalemfo ne Yudeafo ne nnipa a wɔte Asubɔnten Yordan ho no nyinaa kɔɔ ne nkyɛn wɔ sare no so hɔ kotiee asɛm no bi.
6 And they were baptized of him in Iordan, confessing their sinnes.
Wɔkaa wɔn bɔne ma ɔbɔɔ wɔn asu wɔ Asubɔnten Yordan mu.
7 Now when he sawe many of the Pharises, and of the Sadduces come to his baptisme, he said vnto them, O generations of vipers, who hath forewarned you to flee from the anger to come?
Yohane huu sɛ Farisifo ne Sadukifo pii reba ne nkyɛn ma wabɔ wɔn asu no, ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Awɔ mma! Hena na ɔka kyerɛɛ mo se munguan mfi Onyankopɔn abufuw a ɛreba no ano?
8 Bring foorth therefore fruite worthy amendment of life.
Monkɔbɔ ɔbra pa mfa nkyerɛ sɛ moasakra ampa.
9 And thinke not to say with your selues, We haue Abraham to our father: for I say vnto you, that God is able euen of these stones to raise vp children vnto Abraham.
Na monnhoahoa mo ho sɛ moyɛ Abraham asefo, efisɛ Onyankopɔn betumi ama saa abo yi adan nnipa ma wɔabɛyɛ Abraham asefo.
10 And now also is the axe put to the roote of the trees: therfore euery tree which bringeth not forth good fruit, is hewen downe, and cast into ye fire.
Onyankopɔn de nʼabonnua ato dua biara a ɛnsow aba pa ntin so sɛ ɔde betwa na ɔde agu gya mu ahyew no.
11 In deede I baptize you with water to amendment of life, but he that commeth after me, is mightier then I, whose shoes I am not worthie to beare: hee will baptize you with the holy Ghost, and with fire.
“Me de, mede nsu na ɛrebɔ wɔn a wɔasakra wɔn su no asu. Nanso nea odi mʼakyi reba no de, ɔso sen me a ne mpaboa mpo mensɛ sɛ mikura. Ɔno de, sɛ ɔba a, ɔde Honhom Kronkron ne ogya na ɛbɛbɔ mo asu.
12 Which hath his fanne in his hand, and wil make cleane his floore, and gather his wheate into his garner, but will burne vp the chaffe with vnquenchable fire.
Obehuhuw aburow no so ayiyi mu aba pa no afi ntɛtɛ no mu, na ɔde aba pa no akosie, na ɔde ogya a ennum da ahyew ntɛtɛ no pasaa.”
13 Then came Iesus from Galile to Iordan vnto Iohn, to be baptized of him.
Yesu tee Osuboni Yohane nka no, ofii Galilea baa Asubɔnten Yordan ho sɛ Yohane mmɔ no asu.
14 But Iohn earnestly put him backe, saying, I haue neede to be baptized of thee, and commest thou to me?
Yohane huu sɛ ɔmfata sɛ ɔbɔ Yesu asu nti ɔkae se, “Wo na ɛsɛ sɛ wobɔ me asu na ɛnyɛ me.”
15 Then Iesus answering, saide to him, Let be nowe: for thus it becommeth vs to fulfill all righteousnes. So he suffered him.
Yesu nso ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Otwa ara na etwa sɛ wobɔ me asu sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a nea Onyankopɔn ahyɛ ato hɔ no bɛba mu.” Yesu asɛm a ɔkae no nti, Yohane bɔɔ no asu.
16 And Iesus when hee was baptized, came straight out of the water. And lo, the heaues were opened vnto him, and Iohn saw the Spirit of God descending like a doue, and lighting vpon him.

17 And loe, a voyce came from heauen, saying, This is my beloued Sonne, in whome I am well pleased.
Ɛhɔ ara, nne bi fi ɔsoro kae se, “Oyi ne me Dɔba a ɔsɔ mʼani.”
