Matthew 26
1 And it came to passe, when Iesus had finished all these sayings, he saide vnto his disciples,
És mikor mindezeket a beszédeket elvégezte vala Jézus, monda az ő tanítványainak:
2 Ye know that after two dayes is ye Passeouer, and the Sonne of man shalbe deliuered to be crucified.
Tudjátok, hogy két nap mulva a husvétnak ünnepe lészen, és az embernek Fia elárultatik, hogy megfeszíttessék.
3 Then assembled together the chiefe Priests, and the Scribes, and the Elders of ye people into the hall of the high Priest called Caiaphas:
Akkor egybegyűlének a főpapok, az írástudók és a nép vénei a főpap házába, a kit Kajafásnak hívtak,
4 And consulted together that they might take Iesus by subtiltie, and kill him.
És tanácsot tartának, hogy Jézust álnoksággal megfogják és megöljék.
5 But they sayd, Not on the feast day, least any vprore be among the people.
De azt mondják vala: Ne az ünnepen: hogy zendülés ne legyen a nép között.
6 And when Iesus was in Bethania, in the house of Simon the leper,
És mikor Jézus Bethániában, a poklos Simon házánál vala,
7 There came vnto him a woman, which had a boxe of very costly oyntment, and powred it on his head, as he sate at the table.
Méne ő hozzá egy asszony, a kinél vala drága kenetnek alabástrom szelenczéje, és az ő fejére tölté, a mint az asztalnál ül vala.
8 And when his disciples sawe it, they had indignation, saying, What needed this waste?
Látván pedig ezt az ő tanítványai, bosszankodának, mondván: Mire való ez a tékozlás?
9 For this oyntment might haue bene solde for much, and bene giuen to the poore.
Mert eladhatták volna ezt a kenetet nagy áron, és adhatták volna a szegényeknek.
10 And Iesus knowing it, sayde vnto them, Why trouble yee the woman? for shee hath wrought a good woorke vpon me.
Mikor pedig ezt eszébe vette Jézus, monda nékik: Miért bántjátok ezt az asszonyt? hiszen jó dolgot cselekedett én velem.
11 For yee haue the poore alwayes with you, but me shall yee not haue alwaies.
Mert a szegények mindenkor veletek lesznek, de én nem leszek mindenkor veletek.
12 For in that shee powred this oyntment on my bodie, shee did it to burie me.
Mert hogy ő ezt a kenetet testemre töltötte, az én temetésemre nézve cselekedte azt.
13 Verely I say vnto you, wheresoeuer this Gospel shall bee preached throughout all the worlde, there shall also this that shee hath done, be spoken of for a memoriall of her.
Bizony mondom néktek: Valahol az egész világon prédikáltatik az evangyéliom, a mit ez én velem cselekedék, az is hirdettetik az ő emlékezetére.
14 Then one of the twelue, called Iudas Iscariot, went vnto the chiefe Priestes,
Akkor a tizenkettő közül egy, a kit Iskariótes Júdásnak hívtak, a főpapokhoz menvén,
15 And said, What will ye giue me, and I will deliuer him vnto you? and they appoynted vnto him thirtie pieces of siluer.
Monda: Mit akartok nékem adni, és én kezetekbe adom őt? Azok pedig rendelének néki harmincz ezüst pénzt.
16 And from that time, he sought opportunitie to betraie him.
És ettől fogva alkalmat keres vala, hogy elárulja őt.
17 Nowe on the first day of the feast of vnleauened bread the disciples came to Iesus, saying vnto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eate the Passeouer?
A kovásztalan kenyerek első napján pedig Jézushoz menének a tanítványok, mondván: Hol akarod, hogy megkészítsük néked ételedre a husvéti bárányt?
18 And he said, Goe yee into the citie to such a man, and say to him, The master saieth, My time is at hande: I will keepe the Passeouer at thine house with my disciples.
Ő pedig monda: Menjetek el a városba ama bizonyos emberhez, és ezt mondjátok néki: A Mester üzeni: Az én időm közel van; nálad tartom meg a husvétot tanítványaimmal.
19 And the disciples did as Iesus had giuen them charge, and made readie the Passeouer.
És úgy cselekedének a tanítványok, a mint Jézus parancsolta vala nékik; és elkészíték a husvéti bárányt.
20 So when the Euen was come, hee sate downe with the twelue.
Mikor pedig beestveledék, letelepszik vala a tizenkettővel,
21 And as they did eate, he sayde, Verely I say vnto you, that one of you shall betraie me.
És a mikor esznek vala, monda: Bizony mondom néktek, ti közületek egy elárul engem.
22 And they were exceeding sorowfull, and began euery one of them to say vnto him, Is it I, Master?
És felettébb megszomorodva, kezdék mindannyian mondani néki: Én vagyok-é az, Uram?
23 And hee answered and sayde, Hee that dippeth his hande with me in the dish, hee shall betraie me.
Ő pedig felelvén, monda: A ki velem együtt mártja kezét a tálba, az árul el engem.
24 Surely the Sonne of man goeth his way, as it is written of him: but woe be to that man, by whom the Sonne of man is betrayed: it had bene good for that man, if hee had neuer bene borne.
Az embernek Fia jóllehet elmegyen, a mint meg van írva felőle, de jaj annak az embernek, a ki az embernek Fiát elárulja; jobb volna annak az embernek, ha nem született volna.
25 Then Iudas which betraied him, answered and sayde, Is it I, Master? He sayde vnto him, Thou hast sayd it.
Megszólalván Júdás is, a ki elárulja vala őt, monda: Én vagyok-é az, Mester? Monda néki: Te mondád.
26 And as they did eate, Iesus tooke the bread, and when he had blessed, he brake it, and gaue it to the disciples, and sayd, Take, eate: this is my bodie.
Mikor pedig evének, vevé Jézus a kenyeret és hálákat adván, megtöré és adá a tanítványoknak, és monda: Vegyétek, egyétek; ez az én testem.
27 Also he tooke the cuppe, and when he had giuen thankes, he gaue it them, saying, Drinke ye all of it.
És vevén a poharat és hálákat adván, adá azoknak, ezt mondván: Igyatok ebből mindnyájan;
28 For this is my blood of the Newe Testament, that is shedde for many, for the remission of sinnes.
Mert ez az én vérem, az új szövetségnek vére, a mely sokakért kiontatik bűnöknek bocsánatára.
29 I say vnto you, that I will not drinke henceforth of this fruit of the vine vntil that day, when I shall drinke it new with you in my Fathers kingdome.
Mondom pedig néktek, hogy: Mostantól fogva nem iszom a szőlőtőkének ebből a terméséből mind ama napig, a mikor újan iszom azt veletek az én Atyámnak országában.
30 And when they had sung a Psalme, they went out into the mount of Oliues.
És dícséretet énekelvén, kimenének az olajfák hegyére.
31 Then saide Iesus vnto them, All yee shall be offended by me this night: for it is written, I wil smite the shepheard, and the sheepe of the flocke shalbe scattered.
Akkor monda nékik Jézus: Mindnyájan ezen az éjszakán megbotránkoztok én bennem. Mert meg van írva: Megverem a pásztort, és elszélednek a nyájnak juhai.
32 But after I am risen againe, I will go before you into Galile.
De föltámadásom után előttetek megyek majd Galileába.
33 But Peter aunswered, and sayde vnto him, Though that al men should be offended by thee, yet will I neuer be offended.
Péter pedig felelvén, monda néki: Ha mindnyájan megbotránkoznak is te benned, én soha meg nem botránkozom.
34 Iesus sayde vnto him, Verely I say vnto thee, that this night, before the cocke crow, thou shalt denie me thrise.
Monda néki Jézus: Bizony mondom néked, ezen az éjszakán, mielőtt megszólal a kakas, háromszor megtagadsz engem.
35 Peter saide vnto him, Though I should die with thee, I will in no case denie thee. Likewise also sayd all the disciples.
Monda néki Péter: Ha meg kell is veled halnom, meg nem tagadlak téged. Hasonlóképen szólnak vala a többi tanítványok is.
36 Then went Iesus with them into a place which is called Gethsemane, and said vnto his disciples, Sit ye here, while I goe, and pray yonder.
Akkor elméne Jézus velök egy helyre, a melyet Gecsemánénak hívtak, és monda a tanítványoknak: Üljetek le itt, míg elmegyek és amott imádkozom.
37 And hee tooke vnto him Peter, and the two sonnes of Zebedeus, and began to waxe sorowfull, and grieuously troubled.
És maga mellé vévén Pétert és Zebedeusnak két fiát, kezde szomorkodni és gyötrődni.
38 Then sayde Iesus vnto them, My soule is very heauie, euen vnto the death: tarie yee here, and watch with me.
Ekkor monda nékik: Felette igen szomorú az én lelkem mind halálig! maradjatok itt és vigyázzatok én velem.
39 So hee went a litle further, and fell on his face, and praied, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup passe from me: neuerthelesse, not as I will, but as thou wilt.
És egy kissé előre menve, arczra borula, könyörögvén és mondván: Atyám! ha lehetséges, múljék el tőlem e pohár; mindazáltal ne úgy legyen a mint én akarom, hanem a mint te.
40 After, hee came vnto the disciples, and founde them a sleepe, and sayde to Peter, What? coulde yee not watch with me one houre?
Akkor méne a tanítványokhoz és aluva találá őket, és monda Péternek: Így nem birtatok vigyázni velem egy óráig sem!?
41 Watch, and praie, that yee enter not into tentation: the spirit in deede is readie, but the flesh is weake.
Vigyázzatok és imádkozzatok, hogy kísértetbe ne essetek; mert jóllehet a lélek kész, de a test erőtelen.
42 Againe he went away the second time, and praied, saying, O my Father, if this cuppe can not passe away from mee, but that I must drinke it, thy will be done.
Ismét elméne másodszor is, és könyörge, mondván: Atyám! ha el nem múlhatik tőlem e pohár, hogy ki ne igyam, legyen meg a te akaratod.
43 And he came, and founde them a sleepe againe, for their eyes were heauie.
És mikor visszatér vala, ismét aluva találá őket; mert megnehezedtek vala az ő szemeik.
44 So he left them and went away againe, and praied the third time, saying the same woordes.
És ott hagyva őket, ismét elméne és imádkozék harmadszor, ugyanazon beszéddel szólván.
45 Then came he to his disciples, and said vnto them, Sleepe henceforth, and take your rest: behold, the houre is at hand, and the Sonne of man is giuen into the hands of sinners.
Ekkor méne az ő tanítványaihoz, és monda nékik: Aludjatok immár és nyugodjatok. Ímé, elközelgett az óra, és az embernek Fia a bűnösök kezébe adatik.
46 Rise, let vs goe: beholde, hee is at hande that betraieth me.
Keljetek fel, menjünk! Ímé elközelgett, a ki engem elárul.
47 And while hee yet spake, loe Iudas, one of the twelue, came, and with him a great multitude with swordes and staues, from the high Priests and Elders of the people.
És még mikor beszél vala, ímé Júdás, egy a tizenkettő közül, eljöve és vele együtt sok nép fegyverekkel és fustélyokkal, a főpapoktól és a nép véneitől.
48 Now he that betraied him, had giuen them a token, saying, Whomesoeuer I shall kisse, that is he, laie holde on him.
A ki pedig őt elárulja vala, jelt ada nékik, mondván: A kit én majd megcsókolok, ő az, fogjátok meg őt.
49 And forthwith he came to Iesus, and sayd, God saue thee, Master, and kissed him.
És mindjárt Jézushoz lépvén, monda: Üdvöz légy Mester! és megcsókolá őt.
50 Then Iesus sayde vnto him, Friende, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laide hands on Iesus, and tooke him.
Jézus pedig monda néki: Barátom, miért jöttél? Akkor hozzámenvén, kezeiket Jézusra veték és megfogák őt.
51 And behold, one of them which were with Iesus, stretched out his hand, and drewe his sworde, and strooke a seruaunt of the high Priest, and smote off his eare.
És ímé egyik azok közül, a kik a Jézussal valának, kinyújtván kezét, szablyáját kirántá, és a főpap szolgáját megcsapván, levágá annak egyik fülét.
52 Then sayde Iesus vnto him, Put vp thy sworde into his place: for all that take the sworde, shall perish with the sworde.
Akkor monda néki Jézus: Tedd helyére szablyádat; mert a kik fegyvert fognak, fegyverrel kell veszniök.
53 Either thinkest thou, that I can not now pray to my Father, and he will giue me moe then twelue legions of Angels?
Avagy azt gondolod-é, hogy nem kérhetném most az én Atyámat, hogy adjon ide mellém többet tizenkét sereg angyalnál?
54 Howe then shoulde the Scriptures bee fulfilled, which say, that it must be so?
De mi módon teljesednének be az írások, hogy így kell lenni?
55 The same houre sayde Iesus to the multitude, Ye be come out as it were against a thiefe, with swordes and staues to take mee: I sate daily teaching in the Temple among you, and yee tooke me not.
Ugyanekkor monda Jézus a sokaságnak: Mint valami latorra, úgy jöttetek fegyverekkel és fustélyokkal, hogy megfogjatok engem? Naponként nálatok ültem, tanítván a templomban, és nem fogtatok meg engem.
56 But all this was done, that the Scriptures of the Prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsooke him, and fled.
Mindez pedig azért lőn, hogy beteljesedjenek a próféták írásai. Ekkor elhagyák őt a tanítványok mind, és elfutának.
57 And they tooke Iesus, and led him to Caiaphas the hie Priest, where the Scribes and the Elders were assembled.
Amazok pedig megfogván Jézust, vivék Kajafáshoz, a főpaphoz, a hol az írástudók és a vének egybegyűltek vala.
58 And Peter followed him a farre off vnto the hie Priestes hall, and went in, and sate with the seruants to see the ende.
Péter pedig követi vala őt távolról egész a főpap pitvaráig; és bemenvén, ott ül vala a szolgákkal, hogy lássa a végét.
59 Nowe the chiefe Priestes and the Elders, and all the whole councill sought false witnesse against Iesus, to put him to death.
A főpapok pedig és a vének és az egész tanács hamis bizonyságot keresnek vala Jézus ellen, hogy megölhessék őt;
60 But they founde none, and though many false witnesses came, yet founde they none: but at the last came two false witnesses,
És nem találának. És noha sok hamis tanú jött vala elő, még sem találának. Utoljára pedig előjövén két hamis tanú,
61 And saide, This man saide, I can destroie the Temple of God, and build it in three daies.
Monda: Ez azt mondta: Leronthatom az Isten templomát, és három nap alatt felépíthetem azt.
62 Then the chiefe Priest arose, and sayde to him, Answerest thou nothing? What is the matter that these men witnesse against thee?
És fölkelvén a főpap, monda néki: Semmit sem felelsz-é? Micsoda tanúbizonyságot tesznek ezek ellened?
63 But Iesus helde his peace. Then the chiefe Priest answered, and saide to him, I charge thee sweare vnto vs by the liuing God, to tell vs, If thou be that Christ the Sonne of God, or no.
Jézus pedig hallgat vala. És felelvén a főpap, monda néki: Az élő Istenre kényszerítelek téged, hogy mondd meg nékünk, ha te vagy-é a Krisztus, az Istennek Fia?
64 Iesus saide to him, Thou hast saide it: neuerthelesse I say vnto you, hereafter shall ye see the Sonne of man, sitting at the right hande of the power of God, and come in the cloudes of the heauen.
Monda néki Jézus: Te mondád. Sőt mondom néktek: Mostantól fogva meglátjátok az embernek Fiát ülni az Istennek hatalmas jobbján, és eljőni az égnek felhőiben.
65 Then the hie Priest rent his clothes, saying, Hee hath blasphemed, what haue wee any more neede of witnesses? beholde: nowe yee haue heard his blasphemie.
Ekkor a főpap megszaggatá a maga ruháit, és monda: Káromlást szólott. Mi szükségünk van még bizonyságokra? Ímé most hallottátok az ő káromlását.
66 What thinke yee? They answered, and said, He is guiltie of death.
Mit gondoltok? Azok pedig felelvén mondának: Méltó a halálra.
67 Then spet they in his face, and buffeted him, and other smote him with roddes,
Akkor szemébe köpdösének és arczul csapdosák őt, némelyek pedig botokkal verék,
68 Saying, Prophecie to vs, O Christ, Who is he that smote thee?
Mondván: Prófétáld meg nékünk Krisztus, kicsoda az, a ki üt téged?
69 Peter sate without in the hall, and a maide came to him, saying, Thou also wast with Iesus of Galile:
Péter pedig künn ül vala az udvaron, és hozzá menvén egy szolgálóleány, monda: Te is a Galileabeli Jézussal valál.
70 But hee denied before them all, saying, I wote not what thou saiest.
Ő pedig mindenkinek hallatára megtagadá, mondván: Nem tudom, mit beszélsz.
71 And when hee went out into the porche, another maide sawe him, and sayde vnto them that were there, This man was also with Iesus of Nazareth.
Mikor pedig kiméne a tornáczra meglátá őt egy másik szolgálóleány, és monda az ott levőknek: Ez is a názáreti Jézussal vala.
72 And againe he denied with an othe, saying, I knowe not the man.
És ismét megtagadá esküvéssel, hogy: Nem is ismerem ezt az embert.
73 So after a while, came vnto him they that stoode by, and sayde vnto Peter, Surely thou art also one of them: for euen thy speache bewraieth thee.
Kevés idő múlva pedig az ott álldogálók menének hozzá, és mondának Péternek: Bizony te is közülök való vagy; hiszen a te beszéded is elárul téged.
74 Then began hee to curse himselfe, and to sweare, saying, I knowe not the man. And immediately the cocke crewe.
Ekkor átkozódni és esküdözni kezde, hogy: Nem ismerem ezt az embert. És a kakas azonnal megszólala.
75 Then Peter remembred the wordes of Iesus, which had sayde vnto him, Before the cocke crowe thou shalt denie me thrise. So he went out, and wept bitterly.
És megemlékezék Péter a Jézus beszédéről, ki ezt mondotta vala néki: Mielőtt a kakas szólana, háromszor megtagadsz engem; és kimenvén onnan, keservesen síra.
