Matthew 23
1 Then spake Iesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
௧பின்பு இயேசு மக்களையும் தம்முடைய சீடர்களையும் பார்த்து:
2 Saying, The Scribes and the Pharises sit in Moses seate.
௨வேதபண்டிதர்களும் பரிசேயர்களும் மோசேயினுடைய இருக்கையில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறார்கள்;
3 All therefore whatsoeuer they bid you obserue, that obserue and doe: but after their workes doe not: for they say, and doe not.
௩ஆகவே, நீங்கள் கைக்கொள்ளும்படி அவர்கள் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிற எல்லாவற்றையும் கைக்கொண்டு செய்யுங்கள்; அவர்களுடைய செய்கையின்படி செய்யாமலிருங்கள்; ஏனென்றால், அவர்கள் சொல்லுகிறார்கள், சொல்லியும் செய்யாதிருக்கிறார்கள்.
4 For they binde heauie burdens, and grieuous to be borne, and lay them on mens shoulders, but they themselues will not moue them with one of their fingers.
௪சுமக்கமுடியாத பாரமான சுமைகளைக் கட்டி மனிதர்களுடைய தோள்களின்மேல் சுமத்துகிறார்கள்; தாங்களோ ஒரு விரலினாலும் அவைகளைத் தொடமாட்டார்கள்.
5 All their workes they doe for to be seene of men: for they make their phylacteries broad, and make long the frindges of their garments,
௫தங்களுடைய செயல்களையெல்லாம் மனிதர்கள் காணவேண்டுமென்று செய்கிறார்கள்; தங்களுடைய காப்புநாடாக்களை அகலமாக்கி, தங்களுடைய ஆடைகளின் தொங்கல்களைப் பெரிதாக்கி,
6 And loue the chiefe place at feastes, and to haue the chiefe seates in the assemblies,
௬விருந்துகளில் முதன்மையான இடங்களையும், ஜெப ஆலயங்களில் முதன்மையான இருக்கைகளையும்,
7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
௭சந்தைவெளிகளில் வணக்கங்களையும், மனிதர்களால் ரபீ, ரபீ, என்று அழைக்கப்படுவதையும் விரும்புகிறார்கள்.
8 But be not ye called, Rabbi: for one is your doctour, to wit, Christ, and all ye are brethren.
௮நீங்களோ ரபீ என்று அழைக்கப்படாமலிருங்கள்; கிறிஸ்து ஒருவரே உங்களுக்குப் போதகராக இருக்கிறார், நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் சகோதரர்களாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்.
9 And call no man your father vpon the earth: for there is but one, your father which is in heauen.
௯பூமியிலே ஒருவனையும் உங்களுடைய பிதா என்று சொல்லாதிருங்கள்; பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற ஒருவரே உங்களுக்குப் பிதாவாக இருக்கிறார்.
10 Be not called doctours: for one is your doctour, euen Christ.
௧0நீங்கள் போதகர் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படாமலிருங்கள்; கிறிஸ்து ஒருவரே உங்களுக்குப் போதகராக இருக்கிறார்.
11 But he that is greatest among you, let him be your seruant.
௧௧உங்களில் பெரியவனாக இருக்கிறவன் உங்களுக்கு வேலைக்காரனாக இருக்கவேண்டும்.
12 For whosoeuer will exalt himselfe, shall be brought lowe: and whosoeuer will humble himselfe, shalbe exalted.
௧௨தன்னை உயர்த்துகிறவன் தாழ்த்தப்படுவான், தன்னைத் தாழ்த்துகிறவன் உயர்த்தப்படுவான்.
13 Wo therefore be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites, because ye shut vp the kingdome of heauen before men: for ye your selues go not in, neither suffer ye them that would enter, to come in.
௧௩மாயக்காரர்களாகிய வேதபண்டிதர்களே! பரிசேயர்களே! உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, மனிதர்கள் பிரவேசிக்கமுடியாதபடி பரலோகராஜ்யத்தைப் பூட்டிப்போடுகிறீர்கள்; நீங்கள் அதில் பிரவேசிக்கிறதுமில்லை, பிரவேசிக்கப்போகிறவர்களை பிரவேசிக்கவிடுகிறதுமில்லை.
14 Wo be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye deuoure widowes houses, euen vnder a colour of long prayers: wherefore ye shall receiue the greater damnation.
௧௪மாயக்காரர்களாகிய வேதபண்டிதர்களே! பரிசேயர்களே! உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, பார்வைக்காக நீண்ட ஜெபம்செய்து, விதவைகளின் வீடுகளை அழித்துப்போடுகிறீர்கள்; இதினிமித்தம் அதிக தண்டனையை அடைவீர்கள்.
15 Wo be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye compasse sea and land to make one of your profession: and when he is made, ye make him two folde more the childe of hell, then you your selues. (Geenna g1067)
௧௫மாயக்காரர்களாகிய வேதபண்டிதர்களே! பரிசேயர்களே! உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, ஒருவனை உங்களுடைய மதத்தானாக்கும்படி கடலையும் பூமியையும் சுற்றித்திரிகிறீர்கள்; அவன் உங்களுடைய மதத்தானானபோது அவனை உங்களிலும் இரட்டிப்பாக நரகத்தின் மகனாக்குகிறீர்கள். (Geenna g1067)
16 Wo be vnto you blinde guides, which say, Whosoeuer sweareth by the Temple, it is nothing: but whosoeuer sweareth by the golde of the Temple, he offendeth.
௧௬குருடர்களான வழிகாட்டிகளே! உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, எவனாவது தேவாலயத்தின்பேரில் சத்தியம்செய்தால் அதினால் ஒன்றுமில்லையென்றும், எவனாவது தேவாலயத்தின் பொன்னின்பேரில் சத்தியம்செய்தால் அவன் கடனாளியென்றும் சொல்லுகிறீர்கள்.
17 Ye fooles and blinde, whether is greater, the golde, or the Temple that sanctifieth the golde?
௧௭மதிகேடர்களே, குருடர்களே! எது முக்கியம்? பொன்னோ, பொன்னைப் பரிசுத்தமாக்குகிற தேவாலயமோ?
18 And whosoeuer sweareth by the altar, it is nothing: but whosoeuer sweareth by the offering that is vpon it, offendeth.
௧௮மேலும், எவனாவது பலிபீடத்தின்பேரில் சத்தியம்செய்தால் அதினால் ஒன்றுமில்லையென்றும், எவனாவது அதின்மேல் இருக்கிற காணிக்கையின்பேரில் சத்தியம்செய்தால், அவன் கடனாளியென்றும் சொல்லுகிறீர்கள்.
19 Ye fooles and blinde, whether is greater, the offering, or the altar which sanctifieth the offering?
௧௯மதிகேடர்களே, குருடர்களே! எது முக்கியம்? காணிக்கையோ, காணிக்கையைப் பரிசுத்தமாக்குகிற பலிபீடமோ?
20 Whosoeuer therefore sweareth by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
௨0ஆகவே, பலிபீடத்தின்பேரில் சத்தியம்செய்கிறவன் அதின்பேரிலும் அதின்மேலுள்ள எல்லாவற்றின்பேரிலும் சத்தியம்செய்கிறான்.
21 And whosoeuer sweareth by the Temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
௨௧தேவாலயத்தின்பேரில் சத்தியம்செய்கிறவன் அதின்பேரிலும் அதில் வாசமாயிருக்கிறவர்பேரிலும் சத்தியம்செய்கிறான்.
22 And he that sweareth by heauen, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
௨௨பரலோகத்தின்பேரில் சத்தியம்செய்கிறவன் தேவனுடைய சிங்காசனத்தின்பேரிலும் அதில் வீற்றிருக்கிறவர்பேரிலும் சத்தியம்செய்கிறான்.
23 Wo be to you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye tithe mynt, and annyse, and cummyn, and leaue the weightier matters of the law, as iudgement, and mercy and fidelitie. These ought ye to haue done, and not to haue left the other.
௨௩மாயக்காரர்களாகிய வேதபண்டிதர்களே! பரிசேயர்களே! உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, நீங்கள் புதினாவிலும் வெந்தயத்திலும் சீரகத்திலும் தசமபாகம் செலுத்தி, நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தில் கற்பித்திருக்கிற விசேஷித்தவைகளாகிய நீதியையும் இரக்கத்தையும் விசுவாசத்தையும் விட்டுவிட்டீர்கள், இவைகளையும் செய்யவேண்டும், அவைகளையும் விடாமலிருக்கவேண்டுமே.
24 Ye blinde guides, which straine out a gnat, and swallowe a camell.
௨௪குருடர்களான வழிகாட்டிகளே, கொசு இல்லாதபடி வடிகட்டி, ஒட்டகத்தை விழுங்குகிறவர்களாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்.
25 Wo be to you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye make cleane the vtter side of the cup, and of the platter: but within they are ful of briberie and excesse.
௨௫மாயக்காரர்களாகிய வேதபண்டிதர்களே! பரிசேயர்களே! உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, உணவு மற்றும் தண்ணீர் பாத்திரங்களின் வெளிப்புறத்தைச் சுத்தமாக்குகிறீர்கள்; உட்புறத்திலோ அவைகள் கொள்ளையினாலும் அநீதத்தினாலும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது.
26 Thou blinde Pharise, cleanse first the inside of the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be cleane also.
௨௬குருடனான பரிசேயனே! உணவு மற்றும் தண்ணீர் பாத்திரங்களின் வெளிப்புறம் சுத்தமாகும்படி அவைகளின் உட்புறத்தை முதலாவது சுத்தமாக்கு.
27 Wo be to you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye are like vnto whited tombes, which appeare beautifull outward, but are within full of dead mens bones, and all filthines.
௨௭மாயக்காரர்களாகிய வேதபண்டிதர்களே! பரிசேயர்களே! உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, வெள்ளையடிக்கப்பட்ட கல்லறைகளுக்கு ஒப்பாக இருக்கிறீர்கள், அவைகள் வெளியே அலங்காரமாகக் காணப்படும், உள்ளேயோ மரித்தவர்களின் எலும்புகளினாலும் எல்லா அசுத்தத்தினாலும் நிறைந்திருக்கும்.
28 So are ye also: for outwarde ye appeare righteous vnto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisie and iniquitie.
௨௮அப்படியே நீங்களும் வெளியே மனிதர்களுக்கு நீதிமான்களாகக் காணப்படுகிறீர்கள்; உள்ளத்திலோ மாயத்தினாலும் அக்கிரமத்தினாலும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.
29 Wo be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye build the tombes of the Prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
௨௯மாயக்காரர்களாகிய வேதபண்டிதர்களே! பரிசேயர்களே! உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, நீங்கள் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் கல்லறைகளைக் கட்டி, நீதிமான்களின் சமாதிகளை அலங்கரித்து:
30 And say, If we had bene in the dayes of our fathers, we would not haue bene partners with them in the blood of the Prophets.
௩0எங்களுடைய பிதாக்களின் நாட்களில் இருந்திருந்தோமானால், அவர்களோடு நாங்கள் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் இரத்தப்பழிக்கு உடன்பட்டிருக்கமாட்டோம் என்கிறீர்கள்.
31 So then ye be witnesses vnto your selues, that ye are the children of them that murthered the Prophets.
௩௧ஆகவே, தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைக் கொலைசெய்தவர்களுக்குப் பிள்ளைகளாக இருக்கிறீர்கள் என்று உங்களைக்குறித்து நீங்களே சாட்சிகளாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்.
32 Fulfill ye also ye measure of your fathers.
௩௨நீங்களும் உங்களுடைய பிதாக்களின் அக்கிரமத்தின் அளவை நிறைவாக்குங்கள்.
33 O serpents, the generation of vipers, howe should ye escape the damnation of hell! (Geenna g1067)
௩௩சர்ப்பங்களே, விரியன்பாம்பு குட்டிகளே! நரக ஆக்கினைக்கு எப்படித் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ளுவீர்கள்? (Geenna g1067)
34 Wherefore beholde, I send vnto you Prophets, and wise men, and Scribes, and of them ye shall kill and crucifie: and of them shall ye scourge in your Synagogues, and persecute from citie to citie,
௩௪ஆகவே, இதோ, தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையும் ஞானிகளையும் வேதபண்டிதர்களையும் உங்களிடம் அனுப்புகிறேன்; அவர்களில் சிலரைக் கொன்று சிலுவைகளில் அறைவீர்கள், சிலரை உங்களுடைய ஜெப ஆலயங்களில் சாட்டையினால் அடித்து, ஊருக்கு ஊர் துன்பப்படுத்துவீர்கள்;
35 That vpon you may come all the righteous blood that was shed vpon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous, vnto the blood of Zacharias the sonne of Barachias, whome ye slewe betweene the Temple and the altar.
௩௫நீதிமானாகிய ஆபேலின் இரத்தம் முதல் தேவாலயத்திற்கும் பலிபீடத்திற்கும் நடுவே நீங்கள் கொலைசெய்த பரகியாவின் குமாரனாகிய சகரியாவின் இரத்தம்வரைக்கும், பூமியின்மேல் சிந்தப்பட்ட நீதிமான்களின் இரத்தப்பழியெல்லாம் உங்கள்மேல் வரும்படியாக இப்படிச் செய்வீர்கள்.
36 Verely I say vnto you, all these things shall come vpon this generation.
௩௬இவைகளெல்லாம் இந்தச் சந்ததியின்மேல் வருமென்று, உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
37 Hierusalem, Hierusalem, which killest the Prophets, and stonest them which are sent to thee, how often would I haue gathered thy children together, as the henne gathereth her chickins vnder her wings, and ye would not!
௩௭எருசலேமே, எருசலேமே, தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைக் கொலைசெய்து, உன்னிடத்தில் அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்களைக் கல்லெறிகிறவளே! கோழி தன் குஞ்சுகளைத் தன் சிறகுகளின்கீழே கூட்டிச்சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளுவதுபோல நான் எத்தனைமுறையோ உன் பிள்ளைகளைக் கூட்டிச்சேர்த்துக்கொள்ள விருப்பமாக இருந்தேன்; உங்களுக்கோ விருப்பமில்லாமல்போனது.
38 Beholde, your habitation shalbe left vnto you desolate,
௩௮இதோ, உங்களுடைய வீடு உங்களுக்குப் பாழாக்கிவிடப்படும்.
39 For I say vnto you, ye shall not see mee henceforth till that ye say, Blessed is he that commeth in the Name of the Lord.
௩௯கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தினாலே வருகிறவர் போற்றப்பட்டவர் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்லும்வரை, இதுமுதல் என்னைக் காணாதிருப்பீர்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
