Matthew 23
1 Then spake Iesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
Entonces Jesús dijo al pueblo y a sus discípulos:
2 Saying, The Scribes and the Pharises sit in Moses seate.
Los escribas y los fariseos tienen la autoridad de Moisés;
3 All therefore whatsoeuer they bid you obserue, that obserue and doe: but after their workes doe not: for they say, and doe not.
Todas las cosas, entonces, que te dan órdenes de hacer, estas hagan y guarden; pero no tomes sus obras como su ejemplo, porque dicen y no hacen.
4 For they binde heauie burdens, and grieuous to be borne, and lay them on mens shoulders, but they themselues will not moue them with one of their fingers.
Hacen leyes duras y ponen cargas pesadas en las espaldas de los hombres; que es imposible cargarlas pero ellos mismos ni con un dedo quieren tocarlas.
5 All their workes they doe for to be seene of men: for they make their phylacteries broad, and make long the frindges of their garments,
Pero todas sus obras las hacen para ser vistos por los hombres, porque ensanchan sus filacterias y los bordes de sus vestiduras,
6 And loue the chiefe place at feastes, and to haue the chiefe seates in the assemblies,
Y lo que desean son los primeros lugares en las fiestas, y las principales sillas en las sinagogas,
7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
Y palabras de respeto en los mercados, y ser llamado por los hombres, Maestro.
8 But be not ye called, Rabbi: for one is your doctour, to wit, Christ, and all ye are brethren.
Pero no puedes ser nombrado Maestro: porque uno es tu maestro, él Cristo, y todos ustedes son hermanos.
9 And call no man your father vpon the earth: for there is but one, your father which is in heauen.
Y no le den a nadie el nombre de padre en la tierra, porque uno es su Padre que está en el cielo.
10 Be not called doctours: for one is your doctour, euen Christ.
Y no pueden ser nombrados maestros: porque uno es su maestro, el Cristo.
11 But he that is greatest among you, let him be your seruant.
Pero que el más grande de ustedes sea su servidor.
12 For whosoeuer will exalt himselfe, shall be brought lowe: and whosoeuer will humble himselfe, shalbe exalted.
Y cualquiera que se enaltece será humillado, y el que se humilla será enaltecido.
13 Wo therefore be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites, because ye shut vp the kingdome of heauen before men: for ye your selues go not in, neither suffer ye them that would enter, to come in.
Pero una maldición está sobre ustedes, escribas y fariseos, ¡hipócritas! porque están cerrando el reino de los cielos contra los hombres; pues no entran ustedes mismos, y ni dejan entrar a los que están entrando.
14 Wo be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye deuoure widowes houses, euen vnder a colour of long prayers: wherefore ye shall receiue the greater damnation.
! Ay! De ustedes maestros de la ley y fariseos hipócritas! Porque le quitan las casas a las viudas, y para disimularlo hacen largas oraciones. Por eso ustedes recibirán mayor castigo.
15 Wo be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye compasse sea and land to make one of your profession: and when he is made, ye make him two folde more the childe of hell, then you your selues. (Geenna g1067)
! Ay de ustedes, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! porque recorren la tierra y el mar para obtener un discípulo y, al tenerlo, lo convierten en el doble de un hijo del infierno que ustedes. (Geenna g1067)
16 Wo be vnto you blinde guides, which say, Whosoeuer sweareth by the Temple, it is nothing: but whosoeuer sweareth by the golde of the Temple, he offendeth.
! Ay! de ustedes, guías ciegos, que dicen: Cualquiera que jura por el Templo, no es nada; pero quien hace un juramento por el oro del Templo, él es deudor.
17 Ye fooles and blinde, whether is greater, the golde, or the Temple that sanctifieth the golde?
Necios y ciegos: ¿cuál es mayor, el oro, o el Templo que santifica el oro?
18 And whosoeuer sweareth by the altar, it is nothing: but whosoeuer sweareth by the offering that is vpon it, offendeth.
Y cualquiera que hiciere un juramento junto al altar, no es nada; pero quien hace un juramento por la ofrenda que está sobre él, es deudor.
19 Ye fooles and blinde, whether is greater, the offering, or the altar which sanctifieth the offering?
Ciegos! ¿cuál es mayor, la ofrenda o el altar que santifica la ofrenda?
20 Whosoeuer therefore sweareth by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
Entonces él, que hace un juramento junto al altar, jura por él altar y sobre todas las cosas que están sobre él.
21 And whosoeuer sweareth by the Temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
Y el que hace juramento junto al Templo, jura por el Templo y por él que lo habita.
22 And he that sweareth by heauen, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
Y el que hace el juramento por el cielo, jura por él trono de Dios, y por el que está sentado sobre él.
23 Wo be to you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye tithe mynt, and annyse, and cummyn, and leaue the weightier matters of the law, as iudgement, and mercy and fidelitie. These ought ye to haue done, and not to haue left the other.
¡Ay! De ustedes escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! porque ustedes hacen que los hombres den un décimo de todo tipo de plantas de olor dulce, pero no piensan en las cosas más importantes de la ley, la justicia, la misericordia y la fe; Esto es lo que deben de hacer sin dejar de hacer lo otro.
24 Ye blinde guides, which straine out a gnat, and swallowe a camell.
Guías ciegos, que sacan una mosca de su bebida, pero se tragan el camello.
25 Wo be to you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye make cleane the vtter side of the cup, and of the platter: but within they are ful of briberie and excesse.
!Ay¡ de ustedes, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! porque limpian el exterior de la taza y del plato, pero por dentro están llenos de robo y de injusticia.
26 Thou blinde Pharise, cleanse first the inside of the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be cleane also.
Fariseo ciego, primero limpia el interior del vaso y del plato, para que el exterior sea igual de limpio.
27 Wo be to you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye are like vnto whited tombes, which appeare beautifull outward, but are within full of dead mens bones, and all filthines.
¡Ay! de ustedes, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! porque ustedes son como los sepulcros blanqueados, que se blanquean, y parecen hermosos por fuera, pero por dentro están llenos de huesos de muertos y de toda inmundicia.
28 So are ye also: for outwarde ye appeare righteous vnto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisie and iniquitie.
Así también ustedes ante los hombres parecen estar llenos de justicia, pero dentro de ustedes están llenos de hipocresía y de maldad.
29 Wo be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye build the tombes of the Prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
¡Ay! de ustedes, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! porque pusiste construcciones para albergar los cadáveres de los profetas, y adornan los monumentos de los justos, y dijiste:
30 And say, If we had bene in the dayes of our fathers, we would not haue bene partners with them in the blood of the Prophets.
Si hubiéramos vivido en los días de nuestros padres, no habríamos ayudado a matar a los profetas.
31 So then ye be witnesses vnto your selues, that ye are the children of them that murthered the Prophets.
Para que sean testigos en contra de ustedes mismos de que son hijos de los que mataron a los profetas.
32 Fulfill ye also ye measure of your fathers.
Completa, pues, lo que empezaron tus padres!
33 O serpents, the generation of vipers, howe should ye escape the damnation of hell! (Geenna g1067)
Serpientes, vástagos de serpientes, ¿cómo serán guardados del castigo del infierno? (Geenna g1067)
34 Wherefore beholde, I send vnto you Prophets, and wise men, and Scribes, and of them ye shall kill and crucifie: and of them shall ye scourge in your Synagogues, and persecute from citie to citie,
Por lo tanto he aquí, les envío profetas, sabios y escribas; a algunos de ustedes los matarán, y los crucificaran, y a algunos de ustedes los azotarán en sus sinagogas, y los perseguirán de pueblo en pueblo.
35 That vpon you may come all the righteous blood that was shed vpon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous, vnto the blood of Zacharias the sonne of Barachias, whome ye slewe betweene the Temple and the altar.
Para que venga sobre ustedes toda la sangre de los justos, que se ha derramado sobre la tierra desde la sangre de Abel el justo. hasta la sangre de Zacarías, hijo de Berequías, al cual mataron entre el templo y el altar.
36 Verely I say vnto you, all these things shall come vpon this generation.
En verdad les digo, todas estas cosas vendrán en esta generación.
37 Hierusalem, Hierusalem, which killest the Prophets, and stonest them which are sent to thee, how often would I haue gathered thy children together, as the henne gathereth her chickins vnder her wings, and ye would not!
¡Jerusalén, Jerusalén, que matas a los profetas, y apedreas a los que te son enviados! Una y otra vez quise juntar a tus hijos como un pájaro toma a sus crías bajo sus alas, ¡y no quisiste!
38 Beholde, your habitation shalbe left vnto you desolate,
Mira, tu casa está abandonada.
39 For I say vnto you, ye shall not see mee henceforth till that ye say, Blessed is he that commeth in the Name of the Lord.
Porque les digo desde ahora, no me verán hasta que digan: Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor.
