Matthew 17
1 And after sixe dayes, Iesus tooke Peter, and Iames and Iohn his brother, and brought them vp into an hie mountaine apart,
Yesuus guyyaa jaʼa booddee Phexrosin, Yaaqoobii fi Yohannis obboleessa Yaaqoob fudhatee kophaa isaanii tulluu dheeraa tokkotti ol baase.
2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the Sunne, and his clothes were as white as the light.
Innis achitti fuula isaanii duratti geeddarame. Fuulli isaa akka aduu ife; uffanni isaas akkuma ifaa addaate.
3 And beholde, there appeared vnto them Moses, and Elias, talking with him.
Kunoo Musee fi Eeliyaas utuu Yesuus wajjin haasaʼanuu isaanitti mulʼatan.
4 Then answered Peter, and saide to Iesus, Master, it is good for vs to be here: if thou wilt, let vs make here three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
Phexrosis Yesuusiin, “Yaa Gooftaa, as jiraachuun nuuf gaarii dha. Yoo fedhii kee taʼe, ani daasii sadii jechuunis tokko siif, tokko Museef, tokko immoo Eeliyaasiif asitti nan ijaara” jedhe.
5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloude shadowed them: and beholde, there came a voyce out of the cloude, saying, This is that my beloued Sonne, in whom I am well pleased: heare him.
Utuma inni dubbachaa jiruu kunoo, duumessi ifaan tokko isaan haguuge; duumessicha keessaas sagaleen tokko, “Kun Ilma koo isa ani jaalladhuu dha; ani isatti baayʼee nan gammada. Isinis isa dhagaʼaa!” jedhe.
6 And when the disciples heard that, they fell on their faces, and were sore afraide.
Barattoonnis yommuu waan kana dhagaʼanitti akka malee sodaatanii adda isaaniitiin lafatti gombifaman.
7 Then Iesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraide.
Yesuus garuu itti dhiʼaatee isaan tuqee, “Kaʼaa! Hin sodaatinaa” jedheen.
8 And when they lifted vp their eyes, they sawe no man, saue Iesus onely.
Isaanis yommuu ol jedhanii ilaalanitti Yesuusin malee nama tokko illee hin argine.
9 And as they came downe from the moutaine, Iesus charged them, saying, Shewe the vision to no man, vntil the Sonne of man rise againe from the dead.
Utuu tulluu sana irraa buʼuutti jiranuus Yesuus, “Hamma Ilmi Namaa warra duʼan keessaa kaafamutti waan argitan sana nama tokkotti illee hin himinaa” jedhee isaan seerrate.
10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the Scribes that Elias must first come?
Barattoonnis, “Yoos barsiistonni seeraa maaliif Eeliyaas akka duraan dursee dhufuu qabu dubbatu ree?” jedhanii isa gaafatan.
11 And Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Certeinely Elias must first come, and restore all thinges.
Yesuus akkana jedhee deebise; “Dhugumaan, Eeliyaas waan hunda iddootti deebisuuf jedhee duraan dursee ni dhufa.
12 But I say vnto you that Elias is come alreadie, and they knewe him not, but haue done vnto him whatsoeuer they would: likewise shall also the Sonne of man suffer of them.
Ani garuu isinittin hima; Eeliyaas amma iyyuu dhufeera; isaanis isa hin hubanne; garuu waanuma fedhan hunda isatti hojjetan. Ilmi Namaas akkasuma harka isaaniitti dhiphachuuf jira.”
13 Then the disciples perceiued that he spake vnto them of Iohn Baptist.
Barattoonnis ergasii akka wanni inni isaanitti dubbachaa ture sun waaʼee Yohannis Cuuphaa taʼe hubatan.
14 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certaine man, and fell downe at his feete,
Yommuu isaan gara tuuta sanaa dhufanittis namichi tokko Yesuusitti dhiʼaatee fuula isaa duratti jilbeenfate;
15 And saide, Master, haue pitie on my sonne: for he is lunatike, and is sore vexed: for oft times he falleth into the fire, and oft times into the water.
akkanas jedhe; “Yaa Gooftaa, ilmi koo gaggabdoodhaan qabamee akka malee rakkachaa jiraatii naaf maari. Yeroo hedduu ibidda keessatti yookaan bishaan keessatti kufa.
16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not heale him.
Ani barattoota keetti isa nan fide; isaan garuu isa fayyisuu hin dandeenye.”
17 Then Iesus answered, and said, O generation faithlesse, and crooked, how long now shall I be with you! howe long nowe shall I suffer you! bring him hither to me.
Yesuusis deebisee, “Isin dhaloota hin amannee fi jalʼaa nana; ani hamma yoomiittin isin wajjin jiraadha? Hamma yoomiittis ani isinii obsa? Mee gurbicha as natti fidaa!” jedhe.
18 And Iesus rebuked the deuill, and he went out of him: and the childe was healed at that houre.
Yesuusis hafuura hamaa sana ifate; hafuurri hamaan sunis gurbaa sana keessaa baʼe; gurbichis yommusuma fayye.
19 Then came the disciples to Iesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
Ergasiis barattoonni kophaa isaanii gara Yesuus dhufanii, “Nu maaliif hafuura hamaa sana baasuu dadhabne?” jedhanii isa gaafatan.
20 And Iesus said vnto them, Because of your vnbeliefe: for verely I say vnto you, if ye haue faith as much as is a graine of mustarde seede, ye shall say vnto this mountaine, Remooue hence to yonder place, and it shall remoue: and nothing shalbe vnpossible vnto you.
Innis akkana jedhee deebise; “Sababii amantiin keessan xinnaateefii dha. Ani dhuguman isinitti hima; isin utuu amantii xinnoo hamma sanyii sanaaficaa qabaattanii silaa tulluu kanaan, ‘Asii kaʼii achi darbi’ jechuu ni dandeessu; innis ni darba. Wanni isiniif hin dandaʼamne tokko iyyuu hin jiru. [
21 Howbeit this kinde goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting.
Hafuurri hamaan akkanaa garuu soomaa fi kadhannaadhaan malee hin baʼu.”]
22 And they being in Galile, Iesus said vnto them, The Sonne of man shall be deliuered into the handes of men,
Yeroo isaan Galiilaatti walitti qabamanitti inni akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Ilmi Namaa dabarfamee harka namootaatti ni kennama.
23 And they shall kill him, but the thirde day shall he rise againe: and they were very sorie.
Isaanis isa ni ajjeesu; inni immoo guyyaa sadaffaatti ni kaafama.” Barattoonnis akka malee gaddan.
24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that receiued polle money, came to Peter, and sayd, Doeth not your Master pay polle money?
Yommuu Yesuusii fi barattoonni isaa Qifirnaahom gaʼanitti qaraxxoonni gara Phexros dhufanii, “Barsiisaan keessan gibira hin kaffaluu?” jedhanii gaafatan.
25 He sayd, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Iesus preuented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whome doe the Kings of the earth take tribute, or polle money? of their children, or of strangers?
Innis deebisee, “Ni kaffala” jedheen. Yesuus yommuu Phexros mana seenetti duraan dursee, “Yaa Simoon ati maal yaadda? Mootonni lafaa eenyu irraa qaraxaa fi gibira walitti qabu? Ijoollee isaanii irraa moo keessummoota irraa walitti qabu?” jedhee gaafate.
26 Peter sayd vnto him, Of strangers. Then said Iesus vnto him, Then are the children free.
Phexrosis deebisee, “Keessummoota irraa walitti qabu” jedhe. Yesuusis akkana jedhee deebiseef; “Yoos ijoolleen isaanii bilisa.
27 Neuerthelesse, lest we should offend them: goe to the sea, and cast in an angle, and take the first fish that commeth vp, and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt finde a piece of twentie pence: that take, and giue it vnto them for me and thee.
Garuu nu akka isaan hin mufachiifneef dhaqiitii okkoo galaanatti darbadhu. Qurxummii jalqabatti qabdus fuudhi; yommuu afaan isaa bantuttis maallaqa argatta. Maallaqa sanas geessiitii anaa fi ofii keetiif isaanitti kenni.”
