Matthew 11
1 And it came to passe that when Iesus had made an ende of commaunding his twelue disciples, hee departed thence to teache and to preach in their cities.
Și s-a întâmplat, după ce a terminat Isus de poruncit celor doisprezece discipoli ai săi, că a plecat de acolo să învețe pe oameni și să predice în cetățile lor.
2 And when Iohn heard in the prison the woorkes of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, and sayde vnto him,
Iar când a auzit Ioan din închisoare faptele lui Cristos, a trimis pe doi dintre discipolii săi,
3 Art thou he that shoulde come, or shall we looke for another?
Și i-au spus: Tu ești cel ce trebuie să vină, sau să așteptăm pe altul?
4 And Iesus answering, said vnto them, Goe, and shewe Iohn, what things ye heare, and see.
Isus a răspuns și le-a zis: Mergeți și arătați-i din nou lui Ioan cele ce auziți și vedeți;
5 The blinde receiue sight, and the halt doe walke: the lepers are clensed, and the deafe heare, the dead are raised vp, and the poore receiue the Gospel.
Orbii își primesc vederea și șchiopii umblă, leproșii sunt curățiți și surzii aud, morții sunt înviați și săracilor li se predică evanghelia.
6 And blessed is he that shall not be offeded in me.
Și binecuvântat este oricine nu se va poticni de mine.
7 And as they departed, Iesus beganne to speake vnto the multitude, of Iohn, What went ye out into the wildernes to see? A reede shaken with the winde?
Și pe când se duceau, Isus a început să vorbească mulțimilor despre Ioan: Ce ați ieșit să vedeți în pustie? O trestie scuturată de vânt?
8 But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that weare soft clothing, are in Kings houses.
Totuși ce ați ieșit să vedeți? Un om îmbrăcat în haine moi? Iată, cei ce poartă haine moi sunt în casele împăraților.
9 But what went ye out to see? A Prophet? Yea, I say vnto you, and more then a Prophet.
Totuși ce ați ieșit să vedeți? Un profet? Da, vă spun, chiar mai mult decât un profet.
10 For this is he of whom it is written, Beholde, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
Fiindcă acesta este cel despre care este scris: Iată, eu trimit pe mesagerul meu înaintea feței tale, care îți va pregăti calea înaintea ta.
11 Verely I say vnto you, among them which are begotten of women, arose there not a greater then Iohn Baptist: notwithstanding, he that is the least in the kingdome of heauen, is greater then he.
Adevărat vă spun: Între cei născuți din femei nu s-a ridicat niciunul mai mare decât Ioan Baptist; cu toate acestea, cel mai mic în împărăția cerului este mai mare decât el.
12 And from the time of Iohn Baptist hitherto, the kingdome of heauen suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Și din zilele lui Ioan Baptist până acum, împărăția cerului suferă violență și oamenii violenți o iau cu forța.
13 For all the Prophetes and the Lawe prophecied vnto Iohn.
Fiindcă toți profeții și legea au profețit până la Ioan.
14 And if ye will receiue it, this is that Elias, which was to come.
Și dacă voiți să primiți, acesta este Ilie care trebuia să vină.
15 He that hath eares to heare, let him heare.
Cine are urechi de auzit, să audă.
16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like vnto litle children which sit in the markets, and call vnto their fellowes,
Dar cu ce voi asemăna această generație? Este asemănătoare copilașilor șezând în piețe și strigând la tovarășii lor,
17 And say, We haue piped vnto you, and ye haue not daunced, we haue mourned vnto you, and ye haue not lamented.
Și spunând: V-am cântat din fluier și nu ați dansat; v-am cântat de jale și nu v-ați jelit.
18 For Iohn came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a deuill.
Fiindcă a venit Ioan, nici mâncând nici bând și ei spun: Are drac.
19 The sonne of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Beholde a glutton and a drinker of wine, a friend vnto Publicanes and sinners: but wisedome is iustified of her children.
Fiul omului a venit mâncând și bând și ei spun: Iată, un om mâncăcios și băutor de vin, un prieten al vameșilor și al păcătoșilor. Totuși, înțelepciunea este justificată prin copiii ei.
20 Then began he to vpbraide the cities, wherein most of his great workes were done, because they repented not.
Atunci a început să le reproșeze cetăților în care fuseseră făcute cele mai multe din faptele lui puternice, pentru că nu s-au pocăit.
21 Woe be to thee, Chorazin: Woe be to thee, Bethsaida: for if ye great workes, which were done in you, had bene done in Tyrus and Sidon, they had repented long agone in sackecloth and ashes.
Vai ție, Corazin! Vai ție, Betsaida! Căci, dacă în Tir și Sidon ar fi fost făcute faptele puternice care au fost făcute în voi, de mult s-ar fi pocăit cu pânză de sac și cenușă.
22 But I say to you, It shalbe easier for Tyrus and Sidon at the day of iudgement, then for you.
Dar vă spun: Pentru Tir și Sidon va fi mai ușor de suportat în ziua judecății, decât pentru voi.
23 And thou, Capernaum, which art lifted vp vnto heauen, shalt be brought downe to hell: for if the great workes, which haue bin done in thee, had bene done among them of Sodom, they had remained to this day. (Hadēs g86)
Și tu, Capernaum, care ești înălțat până la cer, vei fi doborât până în iad, căci, dacă în Sodoma ar fi fost făcute faptele puternice care au fost făcute în tine, ar fi rămas până astăzi. (Hadēs g86)
24 But I say vnto you, that it shall be easier for them of the land of Sodom in the day of iudgement, then for thee.
Dar vă spun: Pentru ținutul Sodomei va fi mai ușor de suportat în ziua judecății, decât pentru tine.
25 At that time Iesus answered, and saide, I giue thee thankes, O Father, Lord of heauen and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and men of vnderstanding, and hast opened them vnto babes.
În timpul acela, Isus a răspuns și a zis: Îți mulțumesc, Tată, Domn al cerului și al pământului, pentru că ai ascuns acestea de la cei înțelepți și prevăzători și le-ai revelat pruncilor.
26 It is so, O Father, because thy good pleasure was such.
Da, Tată, pentru că așa este plăcut înaintea ta.
27 All things are giuen vnto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Sonne, but ye Father: neither knoweth any man ye Father, but the Sonne, and he to whom ye Sonne will reueile him.
Toate lucrurile mi-au fost date de Tatăl meu; și nimeni nu cunoaște pe Fiul, decât Tatăl; tot astfel nimeni nu cunoaște pe Tatăl, decât Fiul și acela căruia Fiul vrea să i-l reveleze.
28 Come vnto me, all ye that are wearie and laden, and I will ease you.
Veniți la mine toți cei ce munciți și sunteți greu împovărați și eu vă voi da odihnă.
29 Take my yoke on you, and learne of me that I am meeke and lowly in heart: and ye shall finde rest vnto your soules.
Luați jugul meu asupra voastră și învățați de la mine, pentru că eu sunt blând și umil în inimă; și veți găsi odihnă pentru sufletele voastre.
30 For my yoke is easie, and my burden light.
Fiindcă jugul meu este ușor și sarcina mea este ușoară.
