Matthew 11
1 And it came to passe that when Iesus had made an ende of commaunding his twelue disciples, hee departed thence to teache and to preach in their cities.
੧ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਉੱਥੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
2 And when Iohn heard in the prison the woorkes of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, and sayde vnto him,
੨ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਕੈਦਖ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਸੁਣੀ, ਤਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ,
3 Art thou he that shoulde come, or shall we looke for another?
੩ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ਜਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰੀਏ?
4 And Iesus answering, said vnto them, Goe, and shewe Iohn, what things ye heare, and see.
੪ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੋ,
5 The blinde receiue sight, and the halt doe walke: the lepers are clensed, and the deafe heare, the dead are raised vp, and the poore receiue the Gospel.
੫ਕਿ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਸੁਜਾਖੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਲੰਗੜੇ ਚਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਬੋਲੇ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੁਰਦੇ ਜਿਵਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
6 And blessed is he that shall not be offeded in me.
੬ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਠੋਕਰ ਨਾ ਖਾਵੇ।
7 And as they departed, Iesus beganne to speake vnto the multitude, of Iohn, What went ye out into the wildernes to see? A reede shaken with the winde?
੭ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਗਏ ਸੀ? ਕੀ ਇੱਕ ਕਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਵਾ ਨਾਲ ਹਿੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ?
8 But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that weare soft clothing, are in Kings houses.
੮ਫੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਗਏ ਸੀ? ਕੀ ਮਹੀਨ ਬਸਤਰ ਪਹਿਨੇ ਹੋਏ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ? ਵੇਖੋ ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਬਸਤਰ ਪਹਿਨਦੇ ਹਨ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ।
9 But what went ye out to see? A Prophet? Yea, I say vnto you, and more then a Prophet.
੯ਫੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਗਏ ਸੀ? ਕੀ ਨਬੀ ਨੂੰ? ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਨਬੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ।
10 For this is he of whom it is written, Beholde, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
੧੦ਇਹ ਉਹੋ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ; ਵੇਖ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੂਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਜਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਰਾਹ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
11 Verely I say vnto you, among them which are begotten of women, arose there not a greater then Iohn Baptist: notwithstanding, he that is the least in the kingdome of heauen, is greater then he.
੧੧ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ; ਜਿਹੜੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜੰਮੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਵਰਗ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੋਟਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ।
12 And from the time of Iohn Baptist hitherto, the kingdome of heauen suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
੧੨ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਸਵਰਗ ਰਾਜ ਉੱਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
13 For all the Prophetes and the Lawe prophecied vnto Iohn.
੧੩ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਬੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਤੱਕ ਅਗੰਮ ਵਾਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ।
14 And if ye will receiue it, this is that Elias, which was to come.
੧੪ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਤਾਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਇਹੋ ਹੈ।
15 He that hath eares to heare, let him heare.
੧੫ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੰਨ ਹੋਣ ਉਹ ਸੁਣੇ।
16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like vnto litle children which sit in the markets, and call vnto their fellowes,
੧੬ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੁਲਨਾ ਕਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਾਂ? ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ,
17 And say, We haue piped vnto you, and ye haue not daunced, we haue mourned vnto you, and ye haue not lamented.
੧੭ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਬੰਸਰੀ ਵਜਾਈ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾ ਨੱਚੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸਿਆਪਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
18 For Iohn came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a deuill.
੧੮ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਮੈਅ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਆਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਭੂਤ ਹੈ।
19 The sonne of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Beholde a glutton and a drinker of wine, a friend vnto Publicanes and sinners: but wisedome is iustified of her children.
੧੯ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਵੇਖੋ ਇੱਕ ਪੇਟੂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ, ਚੂੰਗੀ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ। ਸੋ ਗਿਆਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਠਹਿਰਿਆ!
20 Then began he to vpbraide the cities, wherein most of his great workes were done, because they repented not.
੨੦ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ ਉਲਾਂਭਾ ਦੇਣ ਲੱਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੋਬਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।
21 Woe be to thee, Chorazin: Woe be to thee, Bethsaida: for if ye great workes, which were done in you, had bene done in Tyrus and Sidon, they had repented long agone in sackecloth and ashes.
੨੧ਹੇ ਖੁਰਾਜ਼ੀਨ, ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਾਏ! ਹੇ ਬੈਤਸੈਦਾ, ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ! ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਕੰਮ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਜੇ ਸੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਦਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੱਪੜ ਪਹਿਨ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਕਦੋਂ ਦੇ ਤੋਬਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ!
22 But I say to you, It shalbe easier for Tyrus and Sidon at the day of iudgement, then for you.
੨੨ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਦਾ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਝੱਲਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
23 And thou, Capernaum, which art lifted vp vnto heauen, shalt be brought downe to hell: for if the great workes, which haue bin done in thee, had bene done among them of Sodom, they had remained to this day. (Hadēs g86)
੨੩ਅਤੇ ਹੇ ਕਫ਼ਰਨਾਹੂਮ, ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੱਕ ਉੱਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ? ਤੂੰ ਸਗੋਂ ਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਕੰਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਖਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਸਦੂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਖਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ। (Hadēs g86)
24 But I say vnto you, that it shall be easier for them of the land of Sodom in the day of iudgement, then for thee.
੨੪ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸਦੂਮ ਦੇਸ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਝੱਲਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
25 At that time Iesus answered, and saide, I giue thee thankes, O Father, Lord of heauen and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and men of vnderstanding, and hast opened them vnto babes.
੨੫ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਪਤ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ।
26 It is so, O Father, because thy good pleasure was such.
੨੬ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ।
27 All things are giuen vnto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Sonne, but ye Father: neither knoweth any man ye Father, but the Sonne, and he to whom ye Sonne will reueile him.
੨੭ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ! ਪਿਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੇ।
28 Come vnto me, all ye that are wearie and laden, and I will ease you.
੨੮ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਥੱਕੇ ਹੋਇਓ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰ ਹੇਠ ਦੱਬੇ ਹੋਇਓ, ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਓ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਮ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
29 Take my yoke on you, and learne of me that I am meeke and lowly in heart: and ye shall finde rest vnto your soules.
੨੯ਮੇਰਾ ਜੂਲਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੈ ਲਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸਿੱਖੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕੋਮਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਗਰੀਬ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਰਾਮ ਪਾਓਗੇ।
30 For my yoke is easie, and my burden light.
੩੦ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੂਲਾ ਸੁਖਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਾਰ ਹਲਕਾ ਹੈ।
