Mark 4
1 And hee began againe to teache by the sea side, and there gathered vnto him a great multitude, so that hee entred into a shippe, and sate in the sea, and all the people was by the sea side on the land.
De nuevo se puso a enseñar a la orilla del mar. Se reunió con él una gran multitud, de modo que entró en una barca en el mar y se sentó. Toda la multitud estaba en tierra firme junto al mar.
2 And he taught them many things in parables, and said vnto them in his doctrine,
Les enseñaba muchas cosas en parábolas, y les decía en su enseñanza:
3 Hearken: Beholde, there went out a sower to sowe.
“¡Escuchad! He aquí que el agricultor salió a sembrar.
4 And it came to passe as he sowed, that some fell by the way side, and the foules of the heauen came, and deuoured it vp.
Mientras sembraba, una parte de la semilla cayó en el camino, y vinieron los pájaros y la devoraron.
5 And some fell on stonie grounde, where it had not much earth, and by and by sprang vp, because it had not depth of earth.
Otras cayeron en el suelo rocoso, donde tenía poca tierra, y enseguida brotaron, porque no tenían profundidad de tierra.
6 But assoone as ye Sunne was vp, it was burnt vp, and because it had not roote, it withered away.
Cuando salió el sol, se quemó; y como no tenía raíz, se secó.
7 And some fell among the thornes, and the thornes grewe vp, and choked it, so that it gaue no fruite.
Otra cayó entre los espinos, y los espinos crecieron y la ahogaron, y no dio fruto.
8 Some againe fell in good grounde, and did yeelde fruite that sprong vp, and grewe, and it brought foorth, some thirtie folde, some sixtie folde, and some an hundreth folde.
Otras cayeron en buena tierra y dieron fruto, creciendo y aumentando. Algunos produjeron treinta veces, otros sesenta veces y otros cien veces más”.
9 Then he said vnto them, He that hath eares to heare, let him heare.
Dijo: “El que tenga oídos para oír, que oiga”.
10 And whe he was alone, they that were about him with the twelue, asked him of ye parable.
Cuando se quedó solo, los que estaban a su alrededor con los doce le preguntaron por las parábolas.
11 And he saide vnto them, To you it is giuen to knowe the mysterie of the kingdome of God: but vnto them that are without, all thinges bee done in parables,
Él les dijo: “A vosotros se os ha dado el misterio del Reino de Dios, pero a los que están fuera, todas las cosas se hacen en parábolas,
12 That they seeing, may see, and not discerne: and they hearing, may heare, and not vnderstand, least at any time they should turne, and their sinnes should be forgiuen them.
para que “viendo vean y no perciban, y oyendo, no entiendan, no sea que se vuelvan y se les perdonen los pecados.”
13 Againe he said vnto them, Perceiue ye not this parable? howe then should ye vnderstand all other parables?
Les dijo: “¿No entendéis esta parábola? ¿Cómo vais a entender todas las parábolas?
14 The sower soweth the worde.
El agricultor siembra la palabra.
15 And these are they that receiue the seede by the wayes side, in whome the worde is sowen: but when they haue heard it, Satan commeth immediatly, and taketh away the worde that was sowen in their heartes.
Los que están junto al camino son aquellos en los que se siembra la palabra; y cuando han oído, enseguida viene Satanás y les quita la palabra que se ha sembrado en ellos.
16 And likewise they that receiue the seede in stony ground, are they, which whe they haue heard the word, straightwayes receiue it with gladnesse.
Estos, de la misma manera, son los que están sembrados en los pedregales, los cuales, cuando han oído la palabra, inmediatamente la reciben con alegría.
17 Yet haue they no roote in themselues, and endure but a time: for when trouble and persecution ariseth for the worde, immediatly they be offended.
No tienen raíz en sí mismos, sino que duran poco. Cuando surge la opresión o la persecución a causa de la palabra, enseguida tropiezan.
18 Also they that receiue the seede among the thornes, are such as heare the word:
Otros son los que están sembrados entre las espinas. Estos son los que han oído la palabra,
19 But the cares of this world, and the deceitfulnes of riches, and the lustes of other things enter in, and choke the word, and it is vnfruitfull. (aiōn g165)
y los afanes de este siglo, y el engaño de las riquezas, y los deseos de otras cosas que entran, ahogan la palabra, y se hace infructuosa. (aiōn g165)
20 But they that haue receiued seede in good ground, are they that heare the worde, and receiue it, and bring foorth fruite: one corne thirtie, another sixtie, and some an hundreth.
Los que fueron sembrados en buena tierra son los que oyen la palabra, la aceptan y dan fruto, unos treinta veces, otros sesenta y otros cien.”
21 Also he saide vnto them, Commeth the candle in, to be put vnder a bushell, or vnder the bed, and not to be put on a candlesticke?
Les dijo: “¿Acaso se trae una lámpara para ponerla debajo de un cesto o de una cama? ¿No se pone sobre un candelero?
22 For there is nothing hid, that shall not be opened: neither is there a secret, but that it shall come to light.
Porque no hay nada oculto si no es para que se conozca, ni se ha hecho nada secreto si no es para que salga a la luz.
23 If any man haue eares to heare, let him heare.
El que tenga oídos para oír, que oiga”.
24 And he said vnto them, Take heede what ye heare. With what measure ye mete, it shall be measured vnto you: and vnto you that heare, shall more be giuen.
Les dijo: “Prestad atención a lo que oís. Con cualquier medida que midáis, se os medirá; y se os dará más a los que oís.
25 For vnto him that hath, shall it be giuen, and from him that hath not, shall be taken away, euen that he hath.
Porque al que tiene, se le dará más; y al que no tiene, se le quitará hasta lo que tiene.”
26 Also he said, So is the kingdome of God, as if a man should cast seede in the ground,
Dijo “El Reino de Dios es como si un hombre echara la semilla en la tierra,
27 And shoulde sleepe, and rise vp night and day, and the seede should spring and growe vp, he not knowing howe.
y durmiera y se levantara de noche y de día, y la semilla brotara y creciera, aunque no supiera cómo.
28 For the earth bringeth foorth fruite of it selfe, first the blade, then the eares, after that full corne in the eares.
Porque la tierra da fruto por sí misma: primero la hoja, luego la espiga, después el grano completo en la espiga.
29 And assoone as the fruite sheweth it selfe, anon hee putteth in the sickle, because the haruest is come.
Pero cuando el fruto está maduro, enseguida se mete la hoz, porque ha llegado la cosecha.”
30 He saide moreouer, Whereunto shall wee liken the kingdome of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
Dijo: “¿Cómo compararemos el Reino de Dios? ¿O con qué parábola lo ilustraremos?
31 It is like a graine of mustarde seede, which when it is sowen in the earth, is the least of all seedes that be in the earth:
Es como un grano de mostaza, que, cuando se siembra en la tierra, aunque es menor que todas las semillas que hay en la tierra,
32 But after that it is sowen, it groweth vp, and is greatest of all herbes, and beareth great branches, so that the foules of heauen may builde vnder the shadow of it.
sin embargo, cuando se siembra, crece y se hace más grande que todas las hierbas, y echa grandes ramas, de modo que las aves del cielo pueden alojarse bajo su sombra.”
33 And with many such parables he preached the word vnto them, as they were able to heare it.
Con muchas parábolas de este tipo les hablaba la palabra, según podían oírla.
34 And without parables spake hee nothing vnto them: but he expounded all thinges to his disciples apart.
Sin parábola no les hablaba, sino que en privado a sus propios discípulos les explicaba todo.
35 Nowe the same day when euen was come, he saide vnto them, Let vs passe ouer vnto the other side.
Aquel día, al atardecer, les dijo: “Pasemos a la otra orilla”.
36 And they left the multitude, and tooke him as he was in the shippe, and there were also with him other little shippes.
Dejando a la multitud, lo llevaron con ellos, tal como estaba, en la barca. También iban con él otras barcas pequeñas.
37 And there arose a great storme of winde, and the waues dashed into the shippe, so that it was now full.
Se levantó una gran tormenta de viento, y las olas golpeaban la barca, tanto que ésta ya estaba llena.
38 And he was in the sterne asleepe on a pillow: and they awoke him, and saide to him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
Él mismo estaba en la popa, dormido sobre el cojín; y le despertaron y le preguntaron: “Maestro, ¿no te importa que nos estemos muriendo?”
39 And hee rose vp, and rebuked the winde, and saide vnto the sea, Peace, and be still. So the winde ceased, and it was a great calme.
Se despertó y reprendió al viento, y dijo al mar: “¡Paz! Quédate quieto!” El viento cesó y se produjo una gran calma.
40 Then he saide vnto them, Why are ye so fearefull? how is it that ye haue no faith?
Les dijo: “¿Por qué tenéis tanto miedo? ¿Cómo es que no tenéis fe?”
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, Who is this, that both the winde and sea obey him?
Se asustaron mucho y se dijeron unos a otros: “¿Quién es, pues, éste, que hasta el viento y el mar le obedecen?”
