Mark 15
1 And anon in the dawning, the hie Priestes helde a Councill with the Elders, and the Scribes, and the whole Council, and bound Iesus, and led him away, and deliuered him to Pilate.
Dès le matin, sans retard, les Princes des prêtres tinrent conseil avec les Anciens et les Scribes, et tout le Sanhédrin. Et après avoir lié Jésus, ils l’emmenèrent et le livrèrent à Pilate.
2 Then Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Iewes? And hee answered, and sayde vnto him, Thou sayest it.
Pilate l’interrogea: « Es-tu le roi des Juifs? « Jésus lui répondit: « Tu le dis. »
3 And the hie Priestes accused him of many things.
Comme les Princes des prêtres portaient contre lui diverses accusations,
4 Wherefore Pilate asked him againe, saying, Answerest thou nothing? beholde howe many things they witnesse against thee.
Pilate l’interrogea de nouveau, disant: « Tu ne réponds rien? Vois de combien de choses ils t’accusent.«
5 But Iesus answered no more at all, so that Pilate marueiled.
Mais Jésus ne fit plus aucune réponse, de sorte que Pilate était dans l’étonnement.
6 Nowe at the feast, Pilate did deliuer a prisoner vnto them, whomesoeuer they woulde desire.
Cependant, à chaque fête de Pâque, il leur relâchait un prisonnier, celui qu’ils demandaient.
7 Then there was one named Barabbas, which was bounde with his fellowes, that had made insurrection, who in the insurrection had committed murder.
Or, il y avait dans la prison le nommé Barabbas, avec les séditieux ses complices, pour un meurtre qu’ils avaient commis dans la sédition.
8 And the people cried aloude, and began to desire that he woulde doe as he had euer done vnto them.
La foule étant montée se mit à réclamer ce qu’il leur accordait toujours.
9 Then Pilate answered them, and said, Will ye that I let loose vnto you the King of ye Iewes?
Pilate leur répondit: « Voulez-vous que je vous délivre le roi des Juifs? »
10 For he knewe that the hie Priestes had deliuered him of enuie.
Car il savait que c’était par envie que les Princes des prêtres l’avaient livré.
11 But the high Priestes had moued the people to desire that he would rather deliuer Barabbas vnto them.
Mais les Pontifes excitèrent le peuple, afin d’obtenir qu’il leur relachât plutôt Barabbas.
12 And Pilate answered, and said againe vnto them, What will ye then that I doe with him, whom ye call the King of the Iewes?
Pilate, reprenant la parole, leur dit: « Que voulez-vous donc que je fasse de celui que vous appelez le roi des Juifs? »
13 And they cried againe, Crucifie him.
Ils crièrent de nouveau: « Crucifiez-le! »
14 Then Pilate said vnto them, But what euill hath he done? And they cryed the more feruently, Crucifie him.
Pilate leur dit: « Mais quel mal a-t-il fait? « Et ils crièrent encore plus fort: « Crucifiez-le! »
15 So Pilate willing to content the people, loosed them Barabbas, and deliuered Iesus, when he had scourged him, that he might be crucified.
Pilate, voulant satisfaire le peuple, leur délivra Barabbas; et après avoir fait flageller Jésus, il le livra pour être crucifié.
16 Then the souldiers led him away into the hall, which is the common hall, and called together the whole band,
Les soldats conduisirent Jésus dans l’intérieur de la cour, c’est-à-dire dans le prétoire, et ils convoquèrent toute la cohorte.
17 And clad him with purple, and platted a crowne of thornes, and put it about his head,
Et l’ayant revêtu de pourpre, ils ceignirent sa tête d’une couronne d’épines qu’ils avaient tressée.
18 And began to salute him, saying, Haile, King of the Iewes.
Puis ils se mirent à le saluer: « Salut, roi des Juifs! »
19 And they smote him on the head with a reede, and spat vpon him, and bowed the knees, and did him reuerence.
Et ils lui frappaient la tête avec un roseau, et ils crachaient sur lui, et, fléchissant les genoux, ils lui rendaient hommage.
20 And whe they had mocked him, they tooke the purple off him, and put his owne clothes on him, and led him out to crucifie him.
Après s’être ainsi joués de lui, ils lui ôtèrent la pourpre, lui remirent ses vêtements, et l’emmenèrent pour le crucifier.
21 And they compelled one that passed by, called Simon of Cyrene (which came out of the countrey, and was father of Alexander and Rufus) to beare his crosse.
Un certain Simon, de Cyrène, le père d’Alexandre et de Rufus, passant par là en revenant des champs, ils le réquisitionnent pour porter la croix de Jésus,
22 And they brought him to a place named Golgotha, which is by interpretation, the place of dead mens skulles.
qu’ils entraînent au lieu dit Golgotha, ce que l’on interprète: lieu du Crâne.
23 And they gaue him to drinke wine mingled with myrrhe: but he receiued it not.
Et ils lui donnaient à boire du vin mêlé de myrrhe; mais il n’en prit pas.
24 And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots for them, what euery man should haue.
L’ayant crucifié, ils se partagent ses vêtements, tirant au sort ce que chacun en prendrait.
25 And it was the third houre, when they crucified him.
Il était la troisième heure lorsqu’on le crucifia.
26 And ye title of his cause was written aboue, THAT KING OF THE JEWES.
L’inscription indiquant la cause de sa condamnation portait: « Le roi des Juifs. »
27 They crucified also with him two theeues, the one on ye right hand, and the other on his left.
Ils crucifièrent avec lui deux brigands, l’un à sa droite, l’autre à sa gauche.
28 Thus the Scripture was fulfilled, which sayth, And he was counted among the wicked.
Ainsi fut accomplie cette parole de l’Écriture: « Et il a été mis au rang des malfaiteurs. »
29 And they that went by, railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Hey, thou that destroyest the Temple, and buildest it in three dayes,
Les passants l’insultaient, en branlant la tête et disant: « Ah! Toi qui détruis le temple et le rebâtis en trois jours,
30 Saue thy selfe, and come downe from the crosse.
sauve-toi toi-même, et descends de la croix. »
31 Likewise also euen the hie Priests mocking, said among themselues with the Scribes, He saued other men, himselfe he cannot saue.
Les Princes des prêtres aussi, avec les Scribes, le raillaient entre eux, et disaient: « Il en a sauvé d’autres, et il ne peut se sauver lui-même.
32 Let Christ the King of Israel nowe come downe from the crosse, that we may see, and beleeue. They also that were crucified with him, reuiled him.
Que le Christ, le roi d’Israël, descende maintenant de la croix, afin que nous voyions et que nous croyions. » Ceux même qui étaient crucifiés avec lui l’insultaient.
33 Nowe when the sixt houre was come, darkenesse arose ouer all the land vntill the ninth houre.
La sixième heure étant arrivée, les ténèbres se répandirent sur toute la terre jusqu’à la neuvième heure.
34 And at the ninth houre Iesus cryed with a loude voyce, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lamma-sabachthani? which is by interpretation, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Et à la neuvième heure, Jésus s’écria d’une voix forte: « Eloï, Eloï, lama sabacthani. » Ce qui s’interprète: « Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m’avez-vous abandonné? »
35 And some of them that stoode by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.
Quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là, l’ayant entendu, disaient: « Voyez! Il appelle Élie. »
36 And one ranne, and filled a spondge full of vineger, and put it on a reede, and gaue him to drinke, saying, Let him alone: let vs see if Elias will come, and take him downe.
Et l’un d’eux courut emplir une éponge de vinaigre, et l’ayant mise au bout d’un roseau, il lui donna à boire, en disant: « Laissez, voyons si Élie viendra le faire descendre. »
37 And Iesus cryed with a loude voyce, and gaue vp the ghost.
Mais Jésus, ayant jeté un grand cri, expira.
38 And the vaile of the Temple was rent in twaine, from the toppe to the bottome.
Et le voile du sanctuaire se déchira en deux, depuis le haut jusqu’en bas.
39 Nowe when the Centurion, which stoode ouer against him, sawe that he thus crying gaue vp the ghost, he saide, Truely this man was the Sonne of God.
Le centurion qui se tenait en face de Jésus, voyant qu’il avait expiré en jetant un tel cri, dit: « Vraiment cet homme était Fils de Dieu. »
40 There were also women, which beheld afarre off, among whom was Marie Magdalene, and Marie (the mother of Iames the lesse, and of Ioses) and Salome,
Il y avait aussi des femmes qui regardaient de loin, entre autres Marie-Madeleine, Marie, mère de Jacques le Mineur et de Joseph, et Salomé,
41 Which also when he was in Galile, folowed him, and ministred vnto him, and many other women which came vp with him vnto Hierusalem.
qui le suivaient déjà et le servaient lorsqu’il était en Galilée, et plusieurs autres qui étaient montées à Jérusalem avec lui.
42 And nowe when the night was come (because it was the day of the preparation that is before the Sabbath)
Le soir étant déjà venu, comme c’était la Préparation, c’est-à-dire la veille du sabbat,
43 Ioseph of Arimathea, an honorable counsellour, which also looked for the kingdome of God, came, and went in boldly vnto Pilate, and asked the body of Iesus.
arriva Joseph d’Arimathie: c’était un membre du grand conseil fort considéré, qui attendait, lui aussi, le royaume de Dieu. Il était allé hardiment auprès de Pilate, demander le corps de Jésus.
44 And Pilate marueiled, if he were already dead, and called vnto him the Centurion, and asked of him whether he had bene any while dead.
Mais Pilate, surpris qu’il fût mort si tôt, fit venir le centurion, et lui demanda s’il y avait longtemps que Jésus était mort.
45 And when he knewe the trueth of the Centurion, he gaue the body to Ioseph:
Sur le rapport du centurion, il accorda le corps à Joseph.
46 Who bought a linnen cloth, and tooke him downe, and wrapped him in the linnen cloth, and laide him in a tombe that was hewen out of a rocke, and rolled a stone vnto the doore of the sepulchre:
Alors Joseph, ayant acheté un linceul, descendit Jésus, l’enveloppa du linceul, et le déposa dans un sépulcre, taillé dans le roc; puis il roula une pierre à l’entrée du sépulcre.
47 And Marie Magdalene, and Marie Ioses mother, behelde where he should be layed.
Or Marie-Madeleine, et Marie, mère de Joseph, observaient où on le déposait.
