Mark 12
1 And he began to speake vnto them in parables, A certaine man planted a vineyard, and copassed it with an hedge, and digged a pit for the winepresse, and built a tower in it, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a strange countrey.
Et il commença à leur parler en paraboles: Un homme planta une vigne; il l’entoura d’une haie, creusa un pressoir, y bâtit une tour; il la loua ensuite à des vignerons, et partit pour un voyage.
2 And at the time, he sent to the husbandmen a seruant, that he might receiue of the husbandmen of the fruite of the vineyard.
Or, en la saison, il envoya aux vignerons un serviteur pour recevoir d’eux du fruit de la vigne.
3 But they tooke him, and beat him, and sent him away emptie.
Mais s’étant saisis de lui, ils le déchirèrent de coups, et le renvoyèrent les mains vides.
4 And againe he sent vnto them another seruant, and at him they cast stones, and brake his head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
Il leur envoya de nouveau un autre serviteur, et ils le blessèrent à la tête, et l’accablèrent d’outrages.
5 And againe he sent another, and him they slew, and many other, beating some, and killing some.
Il en envoya encore un autre, et ils le tuèrent; ensuite plusieurs autres, dont ils déchirèrent les uns de coups, et tuèrent les autres.
6 Yet had he one sonne, his deare beloued: him also he sent the last vnto them, saying, They will reuerence my sonne.
Enfin, ayant un fils unique qui lui était très cher, il le leur envoya le dernier, disant: Ils respecteront mon fils.
7 But ye husbandmen said among themselues, This is the heire: come, let vs kill him, and the inheritance shalbe ours.
Mais les vignerons se dirent l’un à l’autre: Celui-ci est l’héritier; venez, tuons-le, et nôtre sera l’héritage.
8 So they tooke him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
Ainsi, l’ayant pris, ils le tuèrent et le jetèrent hors de la vigne.
9 What shall then the Lord of the vineyard doe? He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and giue the vineyard to others.
Que fera donc le maître de la vigne? Il viendra, exterminera les vignerons, et donnera la vigne à d’autres.
10 Haue ye not read so much as this Scripture? The stone which the builders did refuse, is made the head of the corner.
N’avez-vous point lu cette parole de l’Ecriture: La pierre qu’ont rejetée ceux qui bâtissaient est devenue un sommet d’angle;
11 This was done of the Lord, and it is marueilous in our eyes.
C’est le Seigneur qui a fait cela, et c’est admirable à nos yeux?
12 Then they went about to take him, but they feared the people: for they perceiued that he spake that parable against them: therefore they left him, and went their way.
Dès lors ils cherchaient à se saisir de lui; mais ils craignaient le peuple; ils reconnurent, en effet, que c’était à eux qu’il avait appliqué cette parabole. Ainsi le laissant, ils s’en allèrent.
13 And they sent vnto him certaine of the Pharises, and of ye Herodians that they might take him in his talke.
Mais ils envoyèrent vers lui quelques-uns des pharisiens et des hérodiens, pour le surprendre dans ses paroles;
14 And when they came, they saide vnto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou considerest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God truely, Is it lawfull to giue tribute to Cesar, or not?
Lesquels étant venus, lui dirent: Maître, nous savons que vous êtes véridique, et que vous n’avez égard à qui que ce soit; car vous ne considérez point la face des hommes, mais vous enseignez la voie de Dieu dans la vérité: Est-il permis de payer le tribut à César, ou ne le payerons-nous point?
15 Should we giue it, or should we not giue it? but he knew their hypocrisie, and said vnto them, Why tempt ye me? Bring me a peny, that I may see it.
Jésus, connaissant leur malice, leur dit: Pourquoi me tentez-vous? Apportez-moi un denier, que je le voie.
16 So they brought it, and he said vnto them, Whose is this image and superscription? and they said vnto him, Cesars.
Et ils le lui apportèrent; et il leur demanda: De qui est cette image et cette inscription? De César, lui dirent-ils.
17 Then Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Giue to Cesar the things that are Cesars, and to God, those that are Gods: and they marueiled at him.
Alors reprenant, Jésus leur dit: Rendez-donc à César ce qui est à César, et à Dieu ce qui est à Dieu. Et ils étaient en admiration de lui.
18 Then came the Sadduces vnto him, (which say, there is no resurrection) and they asked him, saying,
Alors vinrent à lui les sadducéens, qui disent qu’il n’y a point de résurrection, et ils l’interrogeaient, disant:
19 Master, Moses wrote vnto vs, If any mans brother die, and leaue his wife, and leaue no children, that his brother should take his wife, and rayse vp seede vnto his brother.
Maître, Moïse a écrit pour nous: Si le frère de quelqu’un meurt, et quitte ainsi sa femme sans laisser d’enfants, que son frère épouse sa femme, et suscite des enfants à son frère.
20 There were seuen brethren, and the first tooke a wife, and when he died, left no issue.
Or il y avait sept frères: le premier prit une femme, et mourut sans laisser d’enfants.
21 Then the seconde tooke her, and he died, neither did he yet leaue issue, and the third likewise:
Le second la prit ensuite et mourut, et ne laissa point non plus d’enfants, et le troisième pareillement.
22 So those seuen had her, and left no yssue: last of all the wife died also.
Et ils l’ont ainsi épousée tous les sept, et ils n’ont point laissé de postérité. Enfin après eux tous est morte aussi la femme.
23 In the resurrection then, when they shall rise againe, whose wife shall she be of them? for seuen had her to wife.
À la résurrection donc, lorsqu’ils ressusciteront, duquel d’entre eux sera-t-elle femme? Car tous les sept l’ont eue pour femme.
24 Then Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Are ye not therefore deceiued, because ye knowe not the Scriptures, neither the power of God?
Et Jésus répondant, leur dit: N’êtes-vous point pour cela même dans Terreur, ne comprenant ni les Ecritures ni la puissance de Dieu?
25 For when they shall rise againe from the dead, neither men marry, nor wiues are married, but are as the Angels which are in heauen.
Car, lorsqu’ils ressusciteront d’entre les morts, les hommes ne prendront point de femmes ni les femmes de maris, mais ils sont comme des anges dans le ciel.
26 And as touching the dead, that they shall rise againe, haue ye not read in the booke of Moses, howe in the bush God spake vnto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob?
Et quant aux morts, en tant qu’ils ressuscitent, n’avez-vous point lu dans le livre de Moïse, à l’endroit du buisson, comment Dieu lui parla, disant: Je suis le Dieu d’Abraham, le Dieu d’Isaac et le Dieu de Jacob?
27 God is not ye God of the dead, but the God of the liuing. Ye are therefore greatly deceiued.
Il n’est pas le Dieu des morts, mais des vivants. Vous donc, vous errez beaucoup.
28 Then came one of the Scribes that had heard them disputing together, and perceiuing that he had answered them well, he asked him, Which is the first commandement of all?
Alors s’approcha un des scribes, qui avait entendu les sadducéens l’interroger, et voyant qu’il leur avait si bien répondu, il lui demanda quel était le premier de tous les commandements.
29 Iesus answered him, The first of all the commandements is, Heare, Israel, The Lord our God is the onely Lord.
Jésus lui répondit: Le premier de tous les commandements est: Ecoute, Israël, le Seigneur ton Dieu est le seul Dieu;
30 Thou shalt therefore loue the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy minde, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandement.
Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme, de tout ton esprit et de toute ta force. Voilà le premier commandement.
31 And the second is like, that is, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe. There is none other commandement greater then these.
Le second est semblable à celui-là: Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même. Aucun autre commandement n’est plus grand que ceux-là.
32 Then that Scribe said vnto him, Well, Master, thou hast saide the trueth, that there is one God, and that there is none but he,
Et le scribe lui dit: Fort bien, maître, vous avez dit en toute vérité qu’il n’y a qu’un seul Dieu, et il n’y en a point d’autre que lui;
33 And to loue him with all the heart, and with all the vnderstanding, and with all the soule, and with all the strength, and to loue his neighbour as himselfe, is more then all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
Qu’on doit l’aimer de tout son cœur, de toute son intelligence, de toute son âme et de toute sa force; et qu’aimer le prochain comme soi-même est plus que tous les holocaustes et tous les sacrifices.
34 Then when Iesus saw that he answered discreetely, he saide vnto him, Thou art not farre from the kingdome of God. And no man after that durst aske him any question.
Jésus voyant qu’il avait sagement répondu, lui dit: Tu n’es pas loin du royaume de Dieu. Et personne n’osait plus l’interroger.
35 And Iesus answered and said teaching in the Temple, Howe say the Scribes that Christ is the sonne of Dauid?
Mais prenant la parole, Jésus demandait en enseignant dans le temple: Comment les scribes disent-ils que le Christ est fils de David?
36 For Dauid himselfe said by ye holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footestoole.
Car David lui-même a dit par l’Esprit-Saint: Le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur: Asseyez-vous à ma droite, jusqu’à ce que j’aie fait de vos ennemis l’escabeau de vos pieds.
37 Then Dauid himselfe calleth him Lord: by what meanes is he then his sonne? and much people heard him gladly.
Ainsi David lui-même l’appelle son Seigneur; comment est-il son fils? Et une grande foule l’écoutait avec plaisir.
38 Moreouer he saide vnto them in his doctrine, Beware of the Scribes which loue to goe in long robes, and loue salutations in the markets,
Il leur disait encore dans son enseignement: Gardez-vous des scribes, qui se plaisent à se promener avec de longues robes, et à être salués dans les places publiques;
39 And the chiefe seates in the Synagogues, and the first roumes at feastes,
Et à s’asseoir sur les premiers sièges dans les synagogues, et qui veulent les premières places dans les festins;
40 Which deuoure widowes houses, euen vnder a colour of long prayers. These shall receiue the greater damnation.
Qui dévorent les maisons des veuves sous le prétexte de longues prières: ces hommes-là subiront un jugement plus sévère.
41 And as Iesus sate ouer against the treasurie, he beheld how the people cast money into the treasurie, and many rich men cast in much.
Après cela, étant assis vis-à-vis du tronc, Jésus regardait de quelle manière le peuple y jetait de l’argent; or nombre de riches y en jetaient beaucoup.
42 And there came a certaine poore widowe, and she threw in two mites, which make a quadrin.
Et une pauvre veuve étant venue, elle y mit deux petites pièces valant le quart d’un as.
43 Then he called vnto him his disciples, and said vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, that this poore widowe hath cast more in, then all they which haue cast into the treasurie.
Appelant alors ses disciples, il leur dit: En vérité, je vous le dis, cette pauvre veuve a déposé plus que tous ceux qui ont mis dans le tronc.
44 For they all did cast in of their superfluitie: but she of her pouertie did cast in all that she had, euen all her liuing.
Car tous ont mis de ce qu’ils avaient de superflu; mais celle-ci a mis de son indigence même tout ce qu’elle avait, tout son vivre.
