Luke 17
1 Then said he to his disciples, It can not be auoided, but that offences will come, but wo be to him by whome they come.
Il dit aux disciples: « Il est impossible qu'il n'y ait pas d'occasions de chute, mais malheur à celui par qui elles arrivent!
2 It is better for him that a great milstone were hanged about his necke, and that he were cast into ye sea, then that he should offende one of these litle ones.
Il vaudrait mieux pour lui qu'on lui suspende au cou une meule de moulin et qu'on le jette à la mer, plutôt que de faire trébucher l'un de ces petits.
3 Take heede to your selues: if thy brother trespasse against thee, rebuke him: and if hee repent, forgiue him.
Prends garde. Si ton frère pèche contre toi, reprends-le. S'il se repent, pardonne-lui.
4 And though he sinne against thee seuen times in a day, and seuen times in a day turne againe to thee, saying, It repenteth mee, thou shalt forgiue him.
S'il a péché contre toi sept fois dans la journée, et que sept fois il revienne en disant: « Je me repens », tu lui pardonneras. »
5 And the Apostles saide vnto the Lord, Increase our faith.
Les apôtres dirent au Seigneur: « Augmente notre foi. »
6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith, as much as is a graine of mustard seede, and should say vnto this mulberie tree, Plucke thy selfe vp by the rootes, and plant thy selfe in the sea, it should euen obey you.
Le Seigneur dit: « Si vous aviez de la foi comme un grain de sénevé, vous diriez à ce sycomore: « Déracine-toi et plante-toi dans la mer », et il vous obéirait.
7 Who is it also of you, that hauing a seruant plowing or feeding cattell, woulde say vnto him by and by, when hee were come from the fielde, Goe, and sit downe at table?
Mais qui parmi vous, ayant un serviteur qui laboure ou qui garde des moutons, lui dira, quand il reviendra des champs: « Viens immédiatement te mettre à table »?
8 And woulde not rather say to him, Dresse wherewith I may suppe, and girde thy selfe, and serue mee, till I haue eaten and drunken, and afterward eate thou, and drinke thou?
Ne lui dira-t-il pas plutôt: « Prépare mon repas, habille-toi correctement, et sers-moi pendant que je mange et que je bois. Ensuite, tu mangeras et tu boiras »?
9 Doeth he thanke that seruant, because hee did that which was commanded vnto him? I trowe not.
Remercie-t-il ce serviteur parce qu'il a fait ce qui lui a été ordonné? Je ne le pense pas.
10 So likewise yee, when yee haue done all those things, which are commanded you, say, We are vnprofitable seruants: wee haue done that which was our duetie to doe.
De même, vous aussi, quand vous aurez fait tout ce qui vous a été commandé, dites: « Nous sommes des serviteurs indignes. Nous avons fait notre devoir. »
11 And so it was when he went to Hierusalem, that he passed through the middes of Samaria, and Galile.
Comme il se rendait à Jérusalem, il passait par les frontières de la Samarie et de la Galilée.
12 And as hee entred into a certaine towne, there met him tenne men that were lepers, which stoode a farre off.
Comme il entrait dans un village, dix hommes lépreux, qui se tenaient à l'écart, vinrent à sa rencontre.
13 And they lift vp their voyces and saide, Iesus, Master, haue mercie on vs.
Ils élevèrent la voix et dirent: « Jésus, Maître, aie pitié de nous! »
14 And when he saw them, he said vnto them, Goe, shewe your selues vnto the Priestes. And it came to passe, that as they went, they were clensed.
Quand il les vit, il leur dit: « Allez vous montrer aux prêtres. » Comme ils allaient, ils furent purifiés.
15 Then one of them, when hee sawe that hee, was healed, turned backe, and with a loude voyce praised God,
L'un d'eux, voyant qu'il était guéri, revint sur ses pas en glorifiant Dieu d'une voix forte.
16 And fell downe on his face at his feete, and gaue him thankes: and he was a Samaritan.
Il tomba sur sa face aux pieds de Jésus et lui rendit grâces; c'était un Samaritain.
17 And Iesus answered, and said, Are there not tenne clensed? but where are the nine?
Jésus répondit: « Les dix n'ont-ils pas été purifiés? Mais où sont les neuf autres?
18 There is none founde that returned to giue God praise, saue this stranger.
N'a-t-on pas trouvé d'autres qui soient revenus pour rendre gloire à Dieu, si ce n'est cet étranger? »
19 And he saide vnto him, Arise, goe thy way, thy faith hath saued thee.
Alors il lui dit: « Lève-toi, et va-t'en. Ta foi t'a guéri. »
20 And when hee was demaunded of the Pharises, when the kingdome of God shoulde come, he answered them, and said, The kingdome of God commeth not with obseruation.
Les pharisiens lui ayant demandé quand viendrait le Royaume de Dieu, il leur répondit: « Le Royaume de Dieu ne vient pas en observateur;
21 Neither shall men say, Loe here, or lo there: for behold, the kingdome of God is within you.
on ne dira pas non plus: « Regardez, ici! » ou « Regardez, là! » car voici, le Royaume de Dieu est en vous. »
22 And he saide vnto the disciples, The dayes will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the dayes of the Sonne of man, and ye shall not see it.
Il dit aux disciples: « Les jours viendront où vous désirerez voir l'un des jours du Fils de l'homme, et vous ne le verrez pas.
23 Then they shall say to you, Behold here, or beholde there: but goe not thither, neither follow them.
On vous dira: « Regarde, ici! » ou « Regarde, là! ». Ne vous éloignez pas et ne les suivez pas,
24 For as the lightening that lighteneth out of the one part vnder heauen, shineth vnto the other part vnder heauen, so shall the Sonne of man be in his day.
car, de même que l'éclair, lorsqu'il part d'une partie du ciel, brille vers une autre partie du ciel, ainsi en sera-t-il du Fils de l'homme en son jour.
25 But first must he suffer many things, and be reprooued of this generation.
Mais il faut d'abord qu'il souffre beaucoup et qu'il soit rejeté par cette génération.
26 And as it was in the dayes of Noe, so shall it be in the dayes of the Sonne of man.
Comme il en fut du temps de Noé, il en sera de même du temps du Fils de l'homme.
27 They ate, they dranke, they married wiues, and gaue in marriage vnto the day that Noe went into the Arke: and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
Ils mangeaient, ils buvaient, ils se mariaient et ils étaient fiancés, jusqu'au jour où Noé entra dans la barque, et où le déluge vint et les détruisit tous.
28 Likewise also, as it was in the dayes of Lot: they ate, they dranke, they bought, they solde, they planted, they built.
Il en fut de même du temps de Lot: ils mangeaient, ils buvaient, ils achetaient, ils vendaient, ils plantaient, ils bâtissaient;
29 But in the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heauen, and destroyed them all.
mais le jour où Lot sortit de Sodome, il tomba du ciel une pluie de feu et de soufre qui les fit tous périr.
30 After these ensamples shall it be in the day when the Sonne of man is reueiled.
Il en sera de même le jour où le Fils de l'homme sera révélé.
31 At that day hee that is vpon the house, and his stuffe in ye house, let him not come downe to take it out: and he that is in the fielde likewise, let him not turne backe to that he left behinde.
En ce jour-là, celui qui sera sur le toit et qui aura ses biens dans la maison, qu'il ne descende pas pour les emporter. De même, que celui qui sera dans les champs ne se retourne pas.
32 Remember Lots wife.
Souvenez-vous de la femme de Lot!
33 Whosoeuer will seeke to saue his soule, shall loose it: and whosoeuer shall loose it, shall get it life.
Celui qui cherche à sauver sa vie la perd, mais celui qui perd sa vie la conserve.
34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two in one bed: the one shalbe receiued, and the other shalbe left.
Je vous le dis, en cette nuit-là, il y aura deux personnes dans un même lit. L'une sera prise et l'autre laissée.
35 Two women shalbe grinding together: the one shalbe taken, and the other shalbe left.
Il y aura deux personnes qui moudront du grain ensemble. L'une sera prise et l'autre laissée ».
36 Two shalbe in the fielde: one shalbe receiued, and another shalbe left.
37 And they answered, and saide to him, Where, Lord? And he said vnto them, Wheresoeuer the body is, thither shall also the eagles bee gathered together.
Eux, répondant, lui demandèrent: « Où, Seigneur? » Il leur dit: « Là où est le corps, là aussi les vautours seront rassemblés. »
