Luke 16
1 And he sayde also vnto his disciples, There was a certaine riche man, which had a stewarde, and he was accused vnto him, that he wasted his goods.
౧ఆయన తన శిష్యులకు ఇలా చెప్పాడు, “ఒక ధనవంతుడి దగ్గర ఒక అధికారి ఉన్నాడు. అతడు ఆ ధనవంతుని ఇంటి ఆర్ధిక వ్యవహారాలు చూసేవాడు. అతడు తన ఆస్తిని పాడు చేస్తున్నాడనే ఫిర్యాదు ధనవంతుడికి వచ్చింది.
2 And hee called him, and saide vnto him, Howe is it that I heare this of thee? Giue an accounts of thy stewardship: for thou maiest be no longer steward.
౨అతడు ఆ అధికారిని పిలిపించి, ‘నీ గురించి నేను వింటున్నదేమిటి? నీ పనికి సంబంధించిన లెక్క అంతా అప్పగించు. ఇక పైన నువ్వు నిర్వహణాధికారిగా ఉండడానికి వీల్లేదు’ అన్నాడు.
3 Then the stewarde saide within himselfe, What shall I doe? for my master taketh away from me the stewardship. I cannot digge, and to begge I am ashamed.
౩అప్పుడతడు ‘యజమాని నన్ను నిర్వహణ పనిలో నుండి తీసివేస్తున్నాడు. ఇప్పుడు నేనేం చేయాలి? తవ్వకం పని నాకు చేతకాదు. భిక్షమెత్తాలంటే అవమానం.
4 I knowe what I will doe, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receiue mee into their houses.
౪నన్ను ఈ నిర్వాహకత్వపు పని నుండి తొలగించిన తరువాత నలుగురూ తమ ఇళ్ళలోకి నన్ను ఆహ్వానించాలంటే ఎలా చేయాలో నాకు తెలుసులే’ అనుకున్నాడు.
5 Then called he vnto him euery one of his masters detters, and said vnto the first, Howe much owest thou vnto my master?
౫ఆ తరువాత అతడు తన యజమానికి బాకీ ఉన్న వారందరినీ పిలిపించాడు. ఒకడితో, ‘నా యజమానికి నువ్వు ఎంత బాకీ ఉన్నావు?’ అని అడిగాడు.
6 And he said, An hudreth measures of oyle. And he saide to him, Take thy writing, and sitte downe quickely, and write fiftie.
౬‘మూడు వేల లీటర్ల నూనె’ అని అతడు జవాబిచ్చాడు. ఈ అధికారి ఆ వ్యక్తితో, ‘నీ పత్రంలో పదిహేను వందల లీటర్లని రాసుకో’ అన్నాడు.
7 Then said he to another, How much owest thou? And hee sayde, An hundreth measures of wheate. Then he saide to him, Take thy writing, and write foure score.
౭‘నువ్వు ఎంత బాకీ ఉన్నావు?’ అని మరొకణ్ణి అడిగితే అతడు, ‘వంద మానికల గోదుమలు’ అని చెప్పాడు. నిర్వహణాధికారి అతనితో, ‘నీ పత్రంలో ఎనభై మానికలని రాసుకో’ అన్నాడు.
8 And the Lord commended the vniust stewarde, because he had done wisely. Wherefore the children of this worlde are in their generation wiser then the children of light. (aiōn g165)
౮న్యాయం తప్పి వ్యవహరించిన ఆ అధికారి తెలివైన పని చేశాడని యజమాని అతణ్ణి మెచ్చుకున్నాడు. ఈ లోక సంబంధులు తమ వారి విషయంలో ఎంతో తెలివిగా వ్యవహరిస్తారు. ఈ విషయంలో వారు దేవుని ప్రజల కంటే తెలివైన వారు. (aiōn g165)
9 And I say vnto you, Make you friends with the riches of iniquitie, that when ye shall want, they may receiue you into euerlasting habitations. (aiōnios g166)
౯అన్యాయమైన ధనంతో స్నేహితులను సంపాదించుకోండి. ఎందుకంటే ఆ ధనం మిమ్మల్ని వదిలి పోయినప్పుడు వారు తమ శాశ్వతమైన నివాసాల్లో మిమ్మల్ని చేర్చుకుంటారని మీతో చెబుతున్నాను. (aiōnios g166)
10 He that is faithfull in the least, hee is also faithful in much: and he that is vniust in the least, is vniust also in much.
౧౦చిన్న చిన్న విషయాల్లో నమ్మకంగా ఉండేవాడు పెద్ద విషయాల్లో కూడా నమ్మకంగా ఉంటాడు. చిన్న విషయాల్లో అన్యాయంగా ఉండేవాడు పెద్ద విషయాల్లో కూడా అన్యాయంగానే ఉంటాడు.
11 If then ye haue not ben faithful in the wicked riches, who wil trust you in the true treasure?
౧౧కాబట్టి మీరు అన్యాయమైన ధనం విషయంలోనే నమ్మకంగా లేకపోతే, ఇక నిజమైన ధనం మీకెవరిస్తారు?
12 And if ye haue not bene faithfull in another mans goods, who shall giue you that which is yours?
౧౨మీరు ఇతరుల ధనం విషయంలో నమ్మకంగా లేకపోతే మీ సొంతమైనది మీకు ఎవరిస్తారు?
13 No seruaunt can serue two masters: for either he shall hate the one, and loue the other: or els he shall leane to the one, and despise the other. Yee can not serue God and riches.
౧౩ఏ సేవకుడూ ఇద్దరు యజమానులకు సేవ చేయలేడు. అతడు ఒకరిని ద్వేషించి రెండవ యజమానిని ప్రేమిస్తాడు. లేదా ఒకరికి కట్టుబడి ఉండి మరొకర్ని చిన్న చూపు చూస్తాడు. మీరు దేవుణ్ణీ సిరినీ సేవించలేరు.”
14 All these thinges heard the Pharises also which were couetous, and they scoffed at him.
౧౪డబ్బును ప్రేమించే పరిసయ్యులు ఈ మాటలన్నీ విని ఆయనను ఎగతాళి చేశారు.
15 Then he sayde vnto them, Yee are they, which iustifie your selues before men: but God knoweth your heartes: for that which is highly esteemed among men, is abomination in the sight of God.
౧౫ఆయన వారితో ఇలా అన్నాడు. “మీరు మనుషుల దృష్టిలో నీతిమంతులని అనిపించుకునేవారే గానీ దేవునికి మీ హృదయాలు తెలుసు. మనుషులు ఘనంగా ఎంచేది దేవునికి అసహ్యం.
16 The Lawe and the Prophets endured vntill Iohn: and since that time the kingdome of God is preached, and euery man preasseth into it.
౧౬బాప్తిసమిచ్చే యోహాను వచ్చేంతవరకూ ధర్మశాస్త్రమూ ప్రవక్తల బోధలూ ఉన్నాయి. అప్పటి నుండి దేవుని రాజ్య సువార్త ప్రకటన జరుగుతూనే ఉంది. ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ ఆ రాజ్యంలో బలవంతంగా చొరబడుతూ ఉన్నారు.
17 Nowe it is more easie that heauen and earth shoulde passe away, then that one title of the Lawe should fall.
౧౭ధర్మశాస్త్రంలో ఒక పొల్లయినా తప్పిపోవడం కంటే ఆకాశం, భూమీ నశించి పోవడమే తేలిక.
18 Whosoeuer putteth away his wife, and marieth another, committeth adulterie: and whosoeuer marieth her that is put away from her husband, committeth adulterie.
౧౮“భార్యకు విడాకులు ఇచ్చి మరో స్త్రీని పెళ్ళి చేసుకొనేవాడు వ్యభిచారం చేస్తున్నాడు. అలాగే విడాకులు తీసుకున్న స్త్రీని పెళ్ళి చేసుకొనేవాడు వ్యభిచారం చేస్తున్నాడు.
19 There was a certaine riche man, which was clothed in purple and fine linnen, and fared well and delicately euery day.
౧౯“ఒక ధనవంతుడు ఉండేవాడు. అతడు ఊదారంగు బట్టలు, ఖరీదైన బట్టలూ ధరించేవాడు. ప్రతి రోజూ విలాసంగా జీవించేవాడు.
20 Also there was a certaine begger named Lazarus, which was laide at his gate full of sores,
౨౦లాజరు అనే నిరుపేద కూడా ఉండేవాడు. ఇతనికి ఒంటినిండా కురుపులుండేవి. ఇతడు ధనవంతుని ఇంటి గుమ్మం ముందు పడి ఉండేవాడు.
21 And desired to bee refreshed with the crommes that fell from the riche mans table: yea, and the dogges came and licked his sores.
౨౧ధనవంతుని భోజన బల్ల పైనుంచి కింద పడే రొట్టె ముక్కలతో తన ఆకలి తీర్చుకోడానికి ప్రయత్నం చేసేవాడు. అంతేకాకుండా వీధి కుక్కలు వచ్చి అతని కురుపులు నాకేవి.
22 And it was so that the begger died, and was caried by the Angels into Abrahams bosome. The rich man also died, and was buried.
౨౨ఆ నిరుపేద చనిపోయాడు. దేవదూతలు వచ్చి అతణ్ణి అబ్రాహాముకు సన్నిహితంగా ఉండడానికి తీసుకు వెళ్ళారు. తరువాత ధనవంతుడు కూడా చనిపోయాడు. అతణ్ణి పాతిపెట్టారు.
23 And being in hell in torments, he lift vp his eyes, and sawe Abraham a farre off, and Lazarus in his bosome. (Hadēs g86)
౨౩“అతడు పాతాళంలో యాతనపడుతూ పైకి తేరి చూసి దూరంగా ఉన్న అబ్రాహామునూ అతనికి సన్నిహితంగా ఉన్న లాజరునూ చూసి. (Hadēs g86)
24 Then he cried, and saide, Father Abraham, haue mercie on mee, and sende Lazarus that hee may dippe the tip of his finger in water, and coole my tongue: for I am tormented in this flame.
౨౪‘తండ్రీ అబ్రాహామూ, నన్ను కరుణించు. నేను ఈ మంటల్లో అల్లాడిపోతూ ఉన్నాను. లాజరు తన వేలి కొనను నీళ్ళలో ముంచి నా నాలుకపై చల్లడానికి అతణ్ణి పంపు’ అని కేకలు పెట్టాడు.
25 But Abraham saide, Sonne, remember that thou in thy life time receiuedst thy pleasures, and likewise Lazarus paines: now therefore is he comforted, and thou art tormented.
౨౫దానికి జవాబుగా అబ్రాహాము, ‘నాయనా, గుర్తుందా? నువ్వు జీవించి ఉన్నప్పుడు నీకిష్టమైన వాటిని నువ్వు అనుభవించావు. అప్పుడు లాజరు ఎన్నో కష్టాలు పడ్డాడు. ఇప్పుడు ఇక్కడ అతడు సేద దీరుతున్నాడు. నువ్వు యాతన పడుతున్నావు.
26 Besides all this, betweene you and vs there is a great gulfe set, so that they which would goe from hence to you, can not: neither can they come from thence to vs.
౨౬అదీగాక ఇక్కడ నుండి మీ దగ్గరికి రావాలనుకునే వారు రాలేకుండా అక్కడి వారు మా దగ్గరికి రాకుండా మీకూ మాకూ మధ్య పెద్ద అగాధం ఉంది,’ అన్నాడు.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therfore, father, that thou wouldest sende him to my fathers house,
౨౭అప్పుడతడు, ‘అలాగైతే తండ్రీ, నాకు ఐదుగురు సోదరులున్నారు. వారు కూడా ఈ వేదనకరమైన స్థలానికి రాకుండా సాక్ష్యం ఇవ్వడానికి లాజరును మా ఇంటికి పంపించమని నిన్ను వేడుకుంటున్నాను’ అన్నాడు.
28 (For I haue fiue brethren) that he may testifie vnto them, least they also come into this place of torment.
౨౮
29 Abraham said vnto him, They haue Moses and the Prophets: let them heare them.
౨౯అందుకు అబ్రాహాము, ‘వారి దగ్గర మోషే, ప్రవక్తలూ ఉన్నారు. నీ సోదరులు వారి మాటలు వినాలి’ అన్నాడు.
30 And he sayde, Nay, father Abraham: but if one came vnto them from the dead, they will amend their liues.
౩౦అతడు, ‘తండ్రీ, అబ్రాహామూ అలా అనకు, చనిపోయిన వారిలో నుండి ఎవరైనా వెళ్తే వారు తప్పక పశ్చాత్తాపపడతారు’ అన్నాడు.
31 Then he saide vnto him, If they heare not Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rise from the dead againe.
౩౧అందుకు అబ్రాహాము అతనితో, ‘మోషే, ప్రవక్తలూ చెప్పిన మాటలు వారు వినకపోతే చనిపోయిన వారిలో నుండి ఎవరైనా సజీవంగా లేచి వెళ్ళినా నమ్మరు’” అన్నాడు.
