Leviticus 19
1 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
Le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:
2 Speake vnto all the Congregation of the children of Israel, and say vnto them, Ye shalbe holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.
Parle à toute l’assemblée des enfants d’Israël, et tu leur diras: Soyez saints, parce que je suis saint, moi, le Seigneur votre Dieu.
3 Yee shall feare euery man his mother and his father, and shall keepe my Sabbaths: for I am the Lord your God.
Que chacun craigne son père et sa mère. Gardez mes sabbats. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
4 Ye shall not turne vnto idoles, nor make you molten gods: I am the Lord your God.
Ne vous tournez point vers les idoles, et ne vous faites point de dieux de fonte. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
5 And when yee shall offer a peace offering vnto the Lord, ye shall offer it freely.
Si vous immolez une hostie de sacrifices pacifiques au Seigneur, afin qu’il se laisse fléchir,
6 It shall be eaten the day yee offer it, or on the morowe: and that which remaineth vntill the third day, shalbe burnt in the fire.
Au même jour qu’elle aura été immolée, vous la mangerez, et au jour suivant; mais ce qui sera de reste au troisième jour, vous le brûlerez au feu.
7 For if it be eaten the third day, it shall be vncleane, it shall not be accepted.
Si quelqu’un en mange après deux jours, il sera profane et coupable d’impiété;
8 Therefore he that eateth it, shall beare his iniquitie, because he hath defiled the halowed thing of the Lord, and that person shalbe cut off from his people.
Et il portera son iniquité, parce qu’il a souillé la chose sainte du Seigneur, et cette âme périra du milieu de son peuple.
9 When yee reape the haruest of your land, ye shall not reape euery corner of your field, neither shalt thou gather the glainings of thy haruest.
Lorsque tu moissonneras les blés de la terre, tu ne couperas point jusqu’au sol, ce qui sera à la superficie de la terre, et tu ne ramasseras point les épis restants.
10 Thou shalt not gather the grapes of thy vineyarde cleane, neyther gather euery grape of thy vineyarde, but thou shalt leaue them for the poore and for the straunger: I am the Lord your God.
Et, dans ta vigne, tu ne cueilleras point les grappes et les grains qui tombent, mais tu les laisseras recueillir aux pauvres et aux étrangers. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
11 Ye shall not steale, neither deale falsely, neither lie one to another.
Vous ne ferez point de vol, vous ne mentirez point, et nul ne trompera son prochain.
12 Also yee shall not sweare by my name falsely, neither shalt thou defile the name of thy God: I am the Lord.
Tu ne feras point de faux serment en mon nom, et tu ne souilleras point le nom de ton Dieu. Je suis le Seigneur.
13 Thou shalt not do thy neighbour wrong, neither rob him. The workemans hire shall not abide with thee vntil the morning.
Tu ne calomnieras point ton prochain, tu ne l’opprimeras point par la violence. Le travail de ton mercenaire ne demeurera point chez toi jusqu’au matin.
14 Thou shalt not curse the deafe, neither put a stumbling blocke before the blinde, but shalt feare thy God: I am the Lord.
Tu ne maudiras point le sourd, et devant l’aveugle, tu ne mettras pas de pierre d’achoppement; mais tu craindras le Seigneur ton Dieu, parce que c’est moi qui suis le Seigneur.
15 Ye shall not doe vniustly in iudgement. Thou shalt not fauour the person of the poore, nor honour the person of the mightie, but thou shalt iudge thy neighbour iustly.
Tu ne feras point ce qui est inique, et tu ne jugeras point injustement. Ne considère point la personne du pauvre, et n’honore point le visage de l’homme puissant. Juge justement ton prochain.
16 Thou shalt not walke about with tales among thy people. Thou shalt not stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the Lord.
Tu ne seras point accusateur, ni médisant parmi le peuple. Tu ne t’élèveras point contre le sang de ton prochain. Je suis le Seigneur.
17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart, but thou shalt plainely rebuke thy neighbour, and suffer him not to sinne.
Ne hais point ton frère en ton cœur, mais reprends-le publiquement, afin que tu n’aies pas de péché à son sujet.
18 Thou shalt not auenge, nor be mindful of wrong against ye childre of thy people, but shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe: I am the Lord.
Ne cherche point la vengeance, et tu ne te souviendras pas de l’injure de tes concitoyens. Tu aimeras ton ami comme toi-même. Je suis le Seigneur.
19 Yee shall keepe mine ordinances. Thou shalt not let thy cattel gender with others of diuers kindes. Thou shalt not sowe thy fielde with mingled seede, neyther shall a garment of diuers thinges, as of linen and wollen come vpon thee.
Gardez mes lois. Tu n’accoupleras point la bête de somme avec des animaux d’une autre espèce. Tu ne sèmeras point ton champ de diverse semence. Tu ne te vêtiras point d’un vêtement qui est tissu de fils différents.
20 Whosoeuer also lyeth and medleth with a woman that is a bonde mayde, affianced to a husband, and not redeemed, nor freedome giuen her, she shalbe scourged, but they shall not die, because she is not made free.
Si un homme dort avec une femme, qui soit servante, même nubile, mais non rachetée à prix d’argent, ni mise en liberté, ils seront battus tous deux, et ils ne mourront point, parce qu’elle n’était pas libre.
21 And he shall bring for his trespasse offring vnto the Lord, at the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, a ramme for a trespasse offering.
Mais pour son défit, l’homme offrira au Seigneur à la porte du tabernacle de témoignage un bélier;
22 Then the Priest shall make an atonement for him with the ramme of the trespasse offering before the Lord, concerning his sinne which he hath done, and pardon shalbe giuen him for his sinne which he hath committed.
Et le prêtre priera pour lui et pour son péché devant le Seigneur; et il lui redeviendra propice, et son péché sera remis.
23 Also when ye shall come into the land, and haue planted euery tree for meate, ye shall count the fruite thereof as vncircumcised: three yeere shall it be vncircumcised vnto you, it shall not be eaten:
Quand vous serez entrés dans la terre, et que vous y aurez planté des arbres fruitiers, vous les émonderez: les fruits qu’ils produisent vous seront impurs, et vous n’en mangerez point.
24 But in the fourth yere all the fruite thereof shalbe holy to the praise of the Lord.
Mais à la quatrième année tout leur fruit sera consacré au Seigneur au milieu des louanges.
25 And in the fifth yeere shall ye eate of the fruite of it that it may yeelde to you the encrease thereof: I am the Lord your God.
Et, à la cinquième année, vous mangerez les fruits, recueillant ceux que les arbres porteront. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
26 Ye shall not eat the flesh with the blood, ye shall not vse witchcraft, nor obserue times.
Vous ne mangerez rien avec le sang. Vous ne consulterez point les augures, et vous n’observerez point les songes.
27 Ye shall not cut rounde the corners of your heades, neither shalt thou marre the tuftes of thy beard.
Vous ne couperez point vos cheveux en rond, et vous ne raserez point votre barbe.
28 Ye shall not cut your flesh for the dead, nor make any print of a marke vpon you: I am the Lord,
Vous ne ferez point d’incisions en votre chair à cause d’un mort, et vous ne ferez aucune figure ou de marques sur vous. Je suis le Seigneur.
29 Thou shalt not make thy daughter common, to cause her to be a whore, least the lande also fall to whoredome, and the lande bee full of wickednesse.
Ne prostitue point ta fille, et afin que la terre ne soit pas souillée et qu’elle ne soit pas remplie d’impiété.
30 Ye shall keepe my Sabbaths and reuerence my Sanctuarie: I am the Lord.
Gardez mes sabbats, et craignez mon sanctuaire. Je suis le Seigneur.
31 Ye shall not regarde them that worke with spirites, neither soothsayers: ye shall not seeke to them to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.
Vous n’irez point vers les magiciens et vous ne demanderez rien aux devins, pour que vous soyez souillés par eux. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
32 Thou shalt rise vp before the horehead, and honour the person of the old man, and dread thy God: I am the Lord.
Lève-toi devant une tête blanche, et honore la personne d’un vieillard: et crains le Seigneur ton Dieu. Je suis le Seigneur.
33 And if a stranger soiourne with thee in your lande, ye shall not vexe him.
Si un étranger habite en votre terre, et s’il demeure parmi vous, ne lui faites point de reproches;
34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you, shalbe as one of your selues, and thou shalt loue him as thy selfe: for ye were strangers in the lad of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
Mais qu’il soit parmi vous comme un indigène; et vous l’aimerez comme vous-mêmes; car vous avez été, vous aussi, étrangers dans la terre d’Egypte. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
35 Ye shall not doe vniustly in iudgement, in line, in weight, or in measure.
Ne faites rien d’inique dans le jugement, dans la règle, dans le poids, dans la mesure.
36 You shall haue iust ballances, true weightes, a true Ephah, and a true Hin. I am the Lord your God, which haue brought you out of the lande of Egypt.
Que la balance soit juste, les poids justes, le boisseau juste et le setier juste. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu, qui vous ai retirés de la terre d’Egypte.
37 Therefore shall ye obserue all mine ordinances, and all my iudgements, and doe them: I am the Lord.
Gardez tous mes préceptes et toutes mes ordonnances et exécutez-les. Je suis le Seigneur.
