Leviticus 11
1 After, the Lord spake vnto Moses and to Aaron, saying vnto them,
Ja Herra puhui Moosekselle ja Aaronille sanoen heille:
2 Speake vnto the children of Israel, and say, These are the beastes which yee shall eate, among all the beasts that are on the earth.
"Puhukaa israelilaisille ja sanokaa: Nämä ovat ne eläimet, joita te saatte syödä kaikista nelijalkaisista eläimistä maan päällä:
3 Whatsoeuer parteth the hoofe, and is clouen footed, and cheweth the cudde, among the beastes, that shall ye eate.
Kaikkia nelijalkaisia eläimiä, joilla on kokonansa halkinaiset sorkat ja jotka märehtivät, te saatte syödä.
4 But of them that chewe the cud, or deuide the hoofe onely, of them yee shall not eate: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, and deuideth not ye hoofe, he shall be vncleane vnto you.
Näitä älkää kuitenkaan syökö niistä, jotka märehtivät, ja niistä, joilla on sorkat: kamelia, joka kyllä märehtii, mutta jolla ei ole sorkkia: se olkoon teille saastainen;
5 Likewise the conie, because he cheweth the cud and deuideth not the hoofe, he shall bee vncleane to you.
tamaania, joka kyllä märehtii, mutta jolla ei ole sorkkia: se olkoon teille saastainen;
6 Also the hare, because he cheweth the cud, and deuideth not the hoofe, he shalbe vncleane to you.
jänistä, joka kyllä märehtii, mutta jolla ei ole sorkkia: se olkoon teille saastainen;
7 And the swine, because he parteth ye hoofe and is clouen footed, but cheweth not the cud, he shalbe vncleane to you.
sikaa, jolla tosin on kokonansa halkinaiset sorkat, mutta joka ei märehdi: se olkoon teille saastainen.
8 Of their flesh shall yee not eate, and their carkeise shall yee not touch: for they shall bee vncleane to you.
Näiden lihaa älkää syökö ja näiden raatoihin älkää koskeko, ne olkoot teille saastaiset.
9 These shall ye eate, of all that are in the waters: whatsoeuer hath finnes and skales in ye waters, in the seas, or in the riuers, them shall ye eate.
Näitä te saatte syödä kaikista vesieläimistä: kaikkia, joilla on evät ja suomukset ja jotka elävät vedessä, niin hyvin merissä kuin joissa, te saatte syödä.
10 But all that haue not finnes nor skales in the seas, or in the riuers, of all that moueth in the waters, and of al liuing things that are in the waters, they shalbe an abomination vnto you.
Mutta kaikista niistä, joita vedet vilisevät, kaikista elollisista, jotka elävät vedessä, inhotkaa kaikkia niitä, joilla ei ole eviä eikä suomuksia, elivätpä merissä tai joissa.
11 They, I say, shalbe an abomination to you: ye shall not eate of their flesh, but shall abhorre their carkeis.
Niitä inhotkaa; niiden lihaa älkää syökö, ja niiden raadot inhottakoot teitä.
12 Whatsoeuer hath not fins nor skales in the waters, that shalbe abomination vnto you.
Kaikkia niitä vesieläimiä, joilla ei ole eviä eikä suomuksia, inhotkaa.
13 These shall ye haue also in abomination among the foules, they shall not be eaten: for they are an abomination, the eagle, and the goshauke, and the osprey:
Linnuista taas inhotkaa näitä; älköön niitä syötäkö, vaan olkoot inhottavia: kotka, partakorppikotka ja harmaa korppikotka,
14 Also the vultur, and the kite after his kinde,
haarahaukka ja suohaukkalajit,
15 And all rauens after their kinde:
kaikki kaarnelajit,
16 The ostrich also, and the night crowe, and the seameaw, and the hauke after his kinde:
kamelikurki, pääskynen, kalalokki ja jalohaukkalajit,
17 The litle owle also, and the connorant, and the great owle.
huuhkaja, kalasääksi ja kissapöllö,
18 Also the redshanke and the pelicane, and the swanne:
sarvipöllö, pelikaani ja likakorppikotka,
19 The storke also, the heron after his kinde, and the lapwing, and the backe:
haikara ja sirriäislajit, harjalintu ja yölepakko.
20 Also euery foule that creepeth and goeth vpon all foure, such shalbe an abomination vnto you.
Ja kaikkia siivellisiä pikkueläimiä, jotka liikkuvat neljällä jalalla, inhotkaa.
21 Yet these shall ye eate: of euery foule that creepeth, and goeth vpon all foure which haue their feete and legs all of one to leape withal vpon the earth,
Kuitenkin saatte siivellisistä pikkueläimistä, jotka liikkuvat neljällä jalalla, syödä niitä, joilla jalkojen yläpuolella on kaksi säärtä hypelläksensä niillä maassa.
22 Of them ye shall eate these, the grashopper after his kinde, and the solean after his kinde, the hargol after his kinde, and the hagab after his kind.
Niistä te saatte syödä seuraavia: heinäsirkkalajeja, solam-sirkkalajeja, hargol-sirkkalajeja ja haagab-sirkkalajeja.
23 But al other foules that creepe and haue foure feete, they shalbe abomination vnto you.
Mutta kaikkia muita siivellisiä pikkueläimiä, joilla on neljä jalkaa, inhotkaa.
24 For by such ye shalbe polluted: whosoeuer toucheth their carkeis, shalbe vncleane vnto the euening.
Seuraavista eläimistä te tulette saastaisiksi; jokainen, joka niiden raatoihin koskee, olkoon saastainen iltaan asti.
25 Whosoeuer also beareth of their carkeis, shall wash his clothes, and be vncleane vntil euen.
Ja jokainen, joka niiden raatoja kantaa, pesköön vaatteensa ja olkoon saastainen iltaan asti.
26 Euery beast that hath clawes deuided, and is not clouen footed, nor cheweth the cud, such shalbe vncleane vnto you: euery one that toucheth them, shalbe vncleane.
Kaikki nelijalkaiset eläimet, joilla on sorkat, mutta ei kokonaan halkinaiset, ja jotka eivät märehdi, olkoot teille saastaiset; jokainen, joka niihin koskee, olkoon saastainen.
27 And whatsoeuer goeth vpon his pawes among all maner beastes that goeth on all foure, such shalbe vncleane vnto you: who so doth touch their carkeis shalbe vncleane vntil the euen.
Ja kaikki nelijalkaiset eläimet, jotka käyvät käpälillä, olkoot teille saastaiset; jokainen, joka niiden raatoihin koskee, olkoon saastainen iltaan asti.
28 And he that beareth their carkeis, shall wash his clothes, and be vncleane vntill the euen: for such shalbe vncleane vnto you.
Ja joka kantaa niiden raatoja, pesköön vaatteensa ja olkoon saastainen iltaan asti; ne olkoot teille saastaiset.
29 Also these shalbe vncleane to you amog the things that creepe and moue vpon the earth, the weasell, and the mouse, and the frog, after his kinde:
Ja nämä olkoot teille saastaiset niistä pikkueläimistä, jotka liikkuvat maassa: myyrä, hiiri ja sisiliskolajit,
30 Also the rat, and the lizard, and the chameleon, and the stellio, and the molle.
anaka-eläin, kooah-eläin, letaa-eläin, hoomet-eläin ja kameleontti.
31 These shall be vncleane to you among all that creepe: whosoeuer doeth touch them when they be dead, shalbe vncleane vntil the euen.
Ne olkoot teille saastaiset kaikista pikkueläimistä; jokainen, joka niihin koskee, sittenkuin ne ovat kuolleet, olkoon saastainen iltaan asti.
32 Also whatsoeuer any of the dead carkeises of them doth fall vpon, shalbe vncleane, whether it be vessel of wood, or rayment, or skinne, or sacke: whatsoeuer vessel it be that is occupied, it shalbe put in the water as vncleane vntil the euen, and so be purified.
Ja kaikki, minkä päälle joku niistä kuolleena putoaa, on saastaista, olipa se sitten puuastia tai vaatekappale tai nahka tai säkki tai mikä tahansa kalu, jota johonkin tarpeeseen käytetään. Se pantakoon veteen ja olkoon saastainen iltaan asti; sitten se on puhdas.
33 But euery earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoeuer is within it shalbe vncleane, and ye shall breake it.
Ja jos joku niistä putoaa saviastiaan, on kaikki, mitä siinä on, saastaista, ja astia rikottakoon.
34 Al meate also that shalbe eaten, if any such water come vpon it, shalbe vncleane: and all drinke that shalbe drunke in al such vessels shalbe vncleane.
Kaikki ruoka, jota syödään, on saastaista, jos sen astian vettä tulee siihen; ja kaikki juoma, jota juodaan, on jokaisessa sellaisessa astiassa saastaista.
35 And euery thing that their carkeis fall vpon, shalbe vncleane: the fornais or the pot shalbe broken: for they are vncleane, and shalbe vncleane vnto you.
Ja kaikki, minkä päälle niiden raato putoaa, tulee saastaiseksi; olkoon se leivinuuni tai liesi, niin se revittäköön maahan; sillä saastaisia ne ovat ja saastaisia ne teille olkoot.
36 Yet the fountaines and welles where there is plentie of water shalbe cleane: but that which toucheth their carkeises shalbe vncleane.
Kuitenkin lähde tai kaivo, paikka, johon vettä on kokoontunut, pysyy puhtaana. Mutta joka niiden raatoon koskee, olkoon saastainen.
37 And if there fal of their dead carkeis vpon any seede, which vseth to be sowe, it shalbe cleane.
Ja jos niiden raato putoaa kylvösiemenen päälle, minkä hyvänsä, joka kylvetään, pysyy tämä puhtaana.
38 But if any water be powred vpon ye seede, and there fal of their dead carkeis thereon, it shall be vncleane vnto you.
Mutta jos siemen on vedellä kasteltu ja niiden raato putoaa sen päälle, tulee siemen teille saastaiseksi.
39 If also any beast, whereof ye may eate, die, he that toucheth the carkeis thereof shall be vncleane vntil the euen.
Ja jos joku eläin, joka on teille ravinnoksi, kuolee, olkoon se, joka sen raatoon koskee, saastainen iltaan asti.
40 And he that eateth of the carkeis of it, shall wash his clothes and be vncleane vntil the euen: he also that beareth the carkeis of it, shall wash his clothes, and be vncleane vntil the euen.
Ja joka syö sen raatoa, pesköön vaatteensa ja olkoon saastainen iltaan asti; ja joka kantaa sen raatoa, pesköön vaatteensa ja olkoon saastainen iltaan asti.
41 Euery creeping thing therefore that creepeth vpon the earth shalbe an abomination, and not be eaten.
Kaikki pikkueläimet, jotka liikkuvat maassa, olkoot inhottavia; älköön niitä syötäkö.
42 Whatsoeuer goeth vpon the breast, and whatsoeuer goeth vpon al foure, or that hath many feete among all creeping thinges that creepe vpon the earth, ye shall not eate of them, for they shalbe abomination.
Kaikista niistä, jotka käyvät vatsallansa, ja kaikista pikkueläimistä, jotka liikkuvat maassa, käyden neljällä tai useammalla jalalla, niistä älkää mitään syökö, sillä ne ovat inhottavia.
43 Ye shall not pollute your selues with any thing that creepeth, neither make your selues vncleane with them, neither defile your selues thereby: ye shall not, I say, be defiled by them,
Älkää saattako itseänne inhottaviksi koskemalla matelevaan pikkueläimeen, mihin tahansa, älkääkä saastuttako itseänne niillä, niin että tulette niistä saastaisiksi.
44 For I am the Lord your God: be sanctified therefore, and be holy, for I am holy, and defile not your selues with any creeping thing, that creepeth vpon the earth.
Sillä minä olen Herra, teidän Jumalanne; pyhittäkää siis itsenne ja olkaa pyhät, sillä minä olen pyhä. Niin älkää saastuttako itseänne koskemalla mihinkään pikkueläimeen, joka liikkuu maassa.
45 For I am the Lord that brought you out of the lande of Egypt, to be your God, and that you should be holy, for I am holy.
Sillä minä olen Herra, joka olen johdattanut teidät Egyptin maasta, ja joka olen teidän Jumalanne; olkaa siis pyhät, sillä minä olen pyhä.
46 This is the law of beasts, and of foules, and of euery liuing thing that moueth in the waters, and of euery thing that creepeth vpon the earth:
Tämä on laki nelijalkaisista eläimistä ja linnuista ja kaikista elollisista, joita vedessä vilisee, ja kaikista olennoista, joita maassa liikkuu,
47 That there may be a difference betweene the vncleane and cleane, and betweene the beast that may be eaten, and the beast that ought not to be eaten.
että tietäisitte erottaa puhtaat saastaisista ja syötävät eläimet niistä eläimistä, joita ei saa syödä."
