Leviticus 11
1 After, the Lord spake vnto Moses and to Aaron, saying vnto them,
Ja Herra puhui Mosekselle ja Aaronille, sanoen heille:
2 Speake vnto the children of Israel, and say, These are the beastes which yee shall eate, among all the beasts that are on the earth.
Puhukaat Israelin lapsille, sanoen: nämät ovat eläimet, joita te saatte syödä, kaikkein eläinten seassa maan päällä.
3 Whatsoeuer parteth the hoofe, and is clouen footed, and cheweth the cudde, among the beastes, that shall ye eate.
Kaikista kaksisorkkaisista eläimistä, jotka sorkkansa kokonansa hajoittavat ja märhettivät, saatte te syödä.
4 But of them that chewe the cud, or deuide the hoofe onely, of them yee shall not eate: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, and deuideth not ye hoofe, he shall be vncleane vnto you.
Kuitenkin tätä ette mahda syödä niistä, jotka märhettivät ja ovat kaksisorkkaiset, nimittäin: kameli, joka kyllä märhettii, vaan ei hajota sorkkiansa, se on teille saastainen;
5 Likewise the conie, because he cheweth the cud and deuideth not the hoofe, he shall bee vncleane to you.
Kaninit märhettivät, mutta ei ole kaksisorkkaiset, sentähden ne ovat teille saastaiset;
6 Also the hare, because he cheweth the cud, and deuideth not the hoofe, he shalbe vncleane to you.
Ja jänis myös märhettii, vaan ei ole kaksisorkkainen, sentähden se on teille saastainen;
7 And the swine, because he parteth ye hoofe and is clouen footed, but cheweth not the cud, he shalbe vncleane to you.
Ja sika on kaksisorkkainen, joka kokonansa hajottaa sorkkansa, mutta ei märheti, sentähden se on teille saastainen.
8 Of their flesh shall yee not eate, and their carkeise shall yee not touch: for they shall bee vncleane to you.
Näiden lihaa ei teidän pidä syömän, eikä heidän raatoihinsa tarttuman; sillä ne ovat teille saastaiset.
9 These shall ye eate, of all that are in the waters: whatsoeuer hath finnes and skales in ye waters, in the seas, or in the riuers, them shall ye eate.
Näitä te saatte syödä kaikista niistä jotka vesissä ovat: kaikki, joilla on uimukset ja suomukset vesissä, meressä ja virroissa, niitä teidän pitää syömän.
10 But all that haue not finnes nor skales in the seas, or in the riuers, of all that moueth in the waters, and of al liuing things that are in the waters, they shalbe an abomination vnto you.
Mutta kaikki, joilla ei ole uimuksia ja suomuksia meressä ja virroissa, kaikkein niiden seassa, jotka liikkuvat ja elävät vesissä, ne pitää oleman teille kauhistus.
11 They, I say, shalbe an abomination to you: ye shall not eate of their flesh, but shall abhorre their carkeis.
Ne ovat teitä kauhistavat: niiden lihaa ei teidän pidä syömän, kauhistukaat heidän raatoansa.
12 Whatsoeuer hath not fins nor skales in the waters, that shalbe abomination vnto you.
Silä kaikki, joilla ei ole uimuksia ja suomuksia vesissä, ne ovat teille kauhistus.
13 These shall ye haue also in abomination among the foules, they shall not be eaten: for they are an abomination, the eagle, and the goshauke, and the osprey:
Näitä te kauhistukaat linnuista, eikä teidän niitä pidä syömän, sillä ne ovat kauhistus: Kotka, ja luukotka ja kalakotka;
14 Also the vultur, and the kite after his kinde,
Kokkolintu, ja harakka lainensa,
15 And all rauens after their kinde:
Ja kaikki kaarneet lainensa;
16 The ostrich also, and the night crowe, and the seameaw, and the hauke after his kinde:
Strutsi, pääskyinen, louve ja haukka lainensa;
17 The litle owle also, and the connorant, and the great owle.
Huhkaja, merimetsäs ja hyypiä;
18 Also the redshanke and the pelicane, and the swanne:
Yökkö, ruovonpäristäjä ja storkki;
19 The storke also, the heron after his kinde, and the lapwing, and the backe:
Haikara ja mäkihaukka lainensa, puputtaja ja nahkasiipi.
20 Also euery foule that creepeth and goeth vpon all foure, such shalbe an abomination vnto you.
Ja kaikki, jotka liikkuvat lintuin seassa ja käyvät neljällä jalalla, pitää oleman teille kauhistus.
21 Yet these shall ye eate: of euery foule that creepeth, and goeth vpon all foure which haue their feete and legs all of one to leape withal vpon the earth,
Kuitenkin näitä saatte te syödä linnuista, jotka liikkuvat ja käyvät neljällä jalalla: joilla ovat sääret jalkain päällä, hypellä maan päällä.
22 Of them ye shall eate these, the grashopper after his kinde, and the solean after his kinde, the hargol after his kinde, and the hagab after his kind.
Ja näitä te saatte syödä heistä kuin on: arbe lainensa, ja selaam lainensa, ja hargol lainensa, ja hagab lainensa.
23 But al other foules that creepe and haue foure feete, they shalbe abomination vnto you.
Vaan kaikki, jotka paitsi niitä ovat nelijalkaiset lintuin seassa, ne ovat teille kauhistus.
24 For by such ye shalbe polluted: whosoeuer toucheth their carkeis, shalbe vncleane vnto the euening.
Ja ne pitää teidän saastaisena pitämän; ja jokainen kuin tarttuu heidän raatoihinsa, sen pitää oleman saastaisen ehtoosen asti.
25 Whosoeuer also beareth of their carkeis, shall wash his clothes, and be vncleane vntil euen.
Ja jos joku heidän raatojansa kantaa, sen pitää pesemän vaatteensa ja oleman saastaisen ehtoosen asti.
26 Euery beast that hath clawes deuided, and is not clouen footed, nor cheweth the cud, such shalbe vncleane vnto you: euery one that toucheth them, shalbe vncleane.
Ja jokainen eläin, joka on sorkallinen, vaan ei kaksisorkkainen, eikä märheti, ne ovat teille saastaiset; ja jokainen, kuin niihin tarttuu, pitää oleman saastainen.
27 And whatsoeuer goeth vpon his pawes among all maner beastes that goeth on all foure, such shalbe vncleane vnto you: who so doth touch their carkeis shalbe vncleane vntil the euen.
Ja jokainen kuin käy kämmenellänsä kaikkein petoin seassa, jotka käyvät neljällä jalalla, ne ovat teille saastaiset; jokainen, kuin rupee heidän raatoihinsa, sen pitää oleman saastaisen ehtoosen asti.
28 And he that beareth their carkeis, shall wash his clothes, and be vncleane vntill the euen: for such shalbe vncleane vnto you.
Ja joka kantaa heidän raatojansa, se peskään vaatteensa, ja pitää oleman saastaisen ehtoosen asti; sillä kaikki nämät ovat saastaiset teille.
29 Also these shalbe vncleane to you amog the things that creepe and moue vpon the earth, the weasell, and the mouse, and the frog, after his kinde:
Ja nämät pitää oleman myös teille saastaiset niiden eläinten seassa, jotka matelevat maalla: myyrä, hiiri, maakrokodili, jokainen lainensa.
30 Also the rat, and the lizard, and the chameleon, and the stellio, and the molle.
Stellio, kameleon, sisilisko, sinisisilisko ja salamandra.
31 These shall be vncleane to you among all that creepe: whosoeuer doeth touch them when they be dead, shalbe vncleane vntil the euen.
Nämät ovat teille saastaiset kaikkein niiden seassa, kuin matelevat; ja jokainen kuin rupee heihin sittekuin he kuolleet ovat, pitää oleman saastainen ehtoosen asti.
32 Also whatsoeuer any of the dead carkeises of them doth fall vpon, shalbe vncleane, whether it be vessel of wood, or rayment, or skinne, or sacke: whatsoeuer vessel it be that is occupied, it shalbe put in the water as vncleane vntil the euen, and so be purified.
Ja kaikki, kuin senkaltainen raato päälle putoo pitää oleman saastainen, olis se kaikkinainen puuastia, eli vaate, eli nahka, eli säkki; ja kaikkinainen ase, jolla jotakin tehdään, pitää pantaman veteen, ja sen pitää oleman saastaisen ehtoosen asti, niin se tulee puhtaaksi.
33 But euery earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoeuer is within it shalbe vncleane, and ye shall breake it.
Ja kaikkinaiset savi-astiat, joihinka senkaltainen raato putoo, ovat kaikki saastaiset, ja mitä niissä on, ja pitää rikottaman.
34 Al meate also that shalbe eaten, if any such water come vpon it, shalbe vncleane: and all drinke that shalbe drunke in al such vessels shalbe vncleane.
Kaikki ruoka, jota syödään, jos se vesi tulee sen päälle, se on saastainen, ja kaikki juoma, jota juodaan senkaltaisista astioista, on saastainen.
35 And euery thing that their carkeis fall vpon, shalbe vncleane: the fornais or the pot shalbe broken: for they are vncleane, and shalbe vncleane vnto you.
Ja kaikki, kuin senkaltainen raato päälle putoo, se tulee saastaiseksi, olis se pätsi eli kattila, se pitää rikottaman; sillä se on saastainen, ja sen pitää oleman teille saastaisen.
36 Yet the fountaines and welles where there is plentie of water shalbe cleane: but that which toucheth their carkeises shalbe vncleane.
Kuitenkin lähteet, kaivot ja lammikot ovat puhtaat; vaan jokainen, joka tarttuu heidän raatoonsa, sen pitää oleman saastaisen.
37 And if there fal of their dead carkeis vpon any seede, which vseth to be sowe, it shalbe cleane.
Ja jos senkaltainen raato lankee siemenen päälle, joka kylvetty on, niin on se kuitenkin puhdas.
38 But if any water be powred vpon ye seede, and there fal of their dead carkeis thereon, it shall be vncleane vnto you.
Ja jos vettä kaadetaan siemenen päälle, ja lankee joku senkaltainen raato niiden päälle, niin se tulee teille saastaiseksi.
39 If also any beast, whereof ye may eate, die, he that toucheth the carkeis thereof shall be vncleane vntil the euen.
Ja jos joku eläin kuolee, jota teidän sopii syödä, se joka sen raatoon tarttuu, se on saastainen ehtoosen asti.
40 And he that eateth of the carkeis of it, shall wash his clothes and be vncleane vntil the euen: he also that beareth the carkeis of it, shall wash his clothes, and be vncleane vntil the euen.
Se joka syö senkaltaista raatoa, hänen pitää pesemän vaatteensa ja oleman saastaisen ehtoosen asti, niin myös se, joka kantaa senkaltasia raatoja, pitää pesemän vaatteensa ja oleman saastaisen ehtoosen asti.
41 Euery creeping thing therefore that creepeth vpon the earth shalbe an abomination, and not be eaten.
Kaikki maalla matelevainen pitää oleman teille kauhistava, ja ei pidä sitä syötämän.
42 Whatsoeuer goeth vpon the breast, and whatsoeuer goeth vpon al foure, or that hath many feete among all creeping thinges that creepe vpon the earth, ye shall not eate of them, for they shalbe abomination.
Ja jokainen kuin vatsallansa käy, ja jotka käyvät neljällä eli useammalla jalalla, kaikista, jotka matelevat maalla, ei pidä teidän niitä syömän; sillä ne ovat kauhistus.
43 Ye shall not pollute your selues with any thing that creepeth, neither make your selues vncleane with them, neither defile your selues thereby: ye shall not, I say, be defiled by them,
Älkäät sielujanne kauhistavaiseksi tehkö kaikissa matelevaisissa, ja älkäät saastuttako teitänne niissä, niin että te tulette saastaiseksi.
44 For I am the Lord your God: be sanctified therefore, and be holy, for I am holy, and defile not your selues with any creeping thing, that creepeth vpon the earth.
Sillä minä olen Herra teidän Jumalanne, sentähden teidän pitää pyhittämän teitänne, että te tulisitte pyhäksi; sillä minäkin olen pyhä. Ei teidän pidä saastuttaman teidän sielujanne jollakin matelevaisella eläimellä, joka matelee maalla.
45 For I am the Lord that brought you out of the lande of Egypt, to be your God, and that you should be holy, for I am holy.
Sillä minä olen Herra, joka teidät johdatin Egyptin maalta, että minä olisin teidän Jumalanne, sentähden teidän pitää oleman pyhät; sillä minä olen pyhä.
46 This is the law of beasts, and of foules, and of euery liuing thing that moueth in the waters, and of euery thing that creepeth vpon the earth:
Ja tämä on sääty kaikista eläimistä ja linnuista, ja kaikista, jotka vesissä liikkuvat, ja kaikkinaisista eläimistä, jotka maalla matelevat,
47 That there may be a difference betweene the vncleane and cleane, and betweene the beast that may be eaten, and the beast that ought not to be eaten.
Että tietäisitte eroittaa puhtaat saastaisista: ja mitä eläimiä syödä saadaan, ja mitä eläimiä ei sovi syödä.
