Leviticus 10
1 But Nadab and Abihu, the sonnes of Aaron, tooke either of them his censor, and put fire therein, and put incense thereupon, and offred strange fire before the Lord, which hee had not commanded them.
Et Nadab et Abihu, fils d'Aaron, prirent chacun leur cassolette, et y mirent du feu sur lequel ils versèrent de l'encens, et ils apportèrent devant l'Éternel un feu étranger, ce qu'il ne leur avait point prescrit.
2 Therefore a fire went out from the Lord, and deuoured them: so they dyed before the Lord.
Alors de la présence de l'Éternel sortit un feu qui les consuma, et ils moururent en la présence de l'Éternel;
3 Then Moses sayde vnto Aaron, This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will bee sanctified in the that come neere me, and before all the people I will be glorified: but Aaron held his peace.
et Moïse dit à Aaron: C'est là ce que l'Éternel a dit et prononcé: Sur mes proches je veux montrer ma Sainteté et à la face de tout le peuple ma Majesté. Et Aaron garda le silence.
4 And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan the sonnes of Vzziel, the vncle of Aaron, and saide vnto them, Come neere, cary your brethre from before the Sanctuarie out of the hoste.
Et Moïse appela Misaël et Eltsaphan, fils d'Uriel, oncle d'Aaron, et leur dit: Approchez! emportez vos frères loin du Sanctuaire hors du camp.
5 Then they went, and caried them in their coates out of the host, as Moses had comaunded.
Et ils s'approchèrent et les emportèrent dans leurs tuniques hors du camp selon l'ordre de Moïse.
6 After, Moses saide vnto Aaron and vnto Eleazar and Ithamar his sonnes, Vncouer not your heads, neither rent your clothes, least ye dye, and least wrath come vpon all ye people: but let your brethren, all the house of Israel bewayle the burning which the Lord hath kindled.
Et Moïse dit à Aaron et à Éléazar et Ithamar, ses fils: Ne vous découvrez point la tête et ne déchirez point vos habits, de peur que vous ne mouriez et qu'il ne s'irrite contre toute l'Assemblée; c'est à vos frères, à toute la maison d'Israël, à pleurer sur l'embrasement allumé par l'Éternel.
7 And go not yee out from the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, least ye dye: for the anointing oyle of the Lord is vpon you: and they did according to Moses commandement.
Et ne franchissez point la porte de la Tente du Rendez-vous, de peur que vous ne mouriez; car vous avez sur vous l'huile de l'onction de l'Éternel. Et ils se conformèrent à l'avis de Moïse.
8 And the Lord spake vnto Aaron, saying,
Et l'Éternel parla à Aaron et dit:
9 Thou shalt not drinke wine nor strong drinke, thou, nor thy sonnes with thee, when yee come into the Tabernacle of the Congregation, lest ye die: this is an ordinance for euer throughout your generations,
Tu ne boiras ni vin, ni cervoise, ni toi, ni tes fils avec toi, lorsque vous devrez entrer dans la Tente du Rendez-vous, de peur que vous ne mouriez: c'est une règle perpétuelle pour vos âges futurs,
10 That ye may put difference betweene the holy and the vnholy, and betweene the cleane and the vncleane,
afin que vous puissiez et distinguer ce qui est saint et ce qui est profane, ce qui est immonde et ce qui est pur,
11 And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord hath commanded them by the hand of Moses.
et enseigner aux enfants d'Israël tous les usages que l'Éternel vous a prescrits par l'organe de Moïse.
12 Then Moses saide vnto Aaron and vnto Eleazar and to Ithamar his sonnes that were left, Take the meate offring that remaineth of the offrings of the Lord, made by fire, and eate it without leauen beside ye altar: for it is most holy:
Et Moïse dit à Aaron et à Éléazar et Ithamar, ses fils, qui étaient survivants: Prenez l'offrande restée des sacrifices ignés faits à l'Éternel, et mangez-la sans levain à côté de l'Autel; car elle est très sainte.
13 And ye shall eate it in the holy place, because it is thy duetie and thy sonnes duety of the offringes of the Lord made by fire: for so I am commanded.
Et vous la mangerez en lieu saint, car c'est ce qui te revient et revient à tes fils des sacrifices ignés faits à l'Éternel, tel étant l'ordre que j'ai reçu.
14 Also the shaken breast and the heaue shoulder shall yee eate in a cleane place: thou, and thy sonnes, and thy daughters with thee: for they are giuen as thy duetie and thy sonnes duety, of the peace offringes of the children of Israel.
Quant à la poitrine de l'oblation agitée et à l'éclanche de l'oblation élevée, vous les mangerez en lieu pur, toi et tes fils et tes filles avec toi; car elles te sont accordées comme ton revenu et le revenu de tes fils sur les sacrifices pacifiques des enfants d'Israël
15 The heaue shoulder, and the shaken breast shall they bring with the offringes made by fire of the fat, to shake it to and from before the Lord, and it shalbe thine and thy sonnes with thee by a lawe for euer, as the Lord hath commanded.
qui apporteront l'éclanche de l'oblation élevée et la poitrine de l'oblation agitée à la combustion des graisses pour qu'elles soient présentées par agitation devant l'Éternel, et elles t'appartiendront à toi et à tes fils comme rente perpétuelle conformément à l'ordre de l'Éternel.
16 And Moses sought the goate that was offred for sinne, and lo, it was burnt: therefore he was angrie with Eleazar and Ithamar the sonnes of Aaron, which were left aliue, saying,
Et Moïse cherchait le bouc expiatoire, et voilà qu'il avait été brûlé. Alors il se courrouça contre Éléazar et Ithamar, fils d'Aaron, qui étaient survivants, et dit:
17 Wherfore haue ye not eaten the sinne offring in the holy place, seeing it is most Holie? and God hath giuen it you, to beare the iniquitie of the Congregation, to make an atonement for them before the Lord.
Pourquoi n'avez-vous pas mangé la victime expiatoire dans le Lieu-Saint? car elle est très-sainte, et Il vous l'a donnée pour que vous vous chargiez de l'iniquité de l'Assemblée et que vous fassiez la propitiation pour elle devant l'Éternel.
18 Beholde, the blood of it was not brought within the holy place: ye should haue eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded.
Voici, le sang n'en a point été introduit dans le Sanctuaire, dans l'intérieur; vous devez la manger dans le Sanctuaire selon l'ordre que j'ai reçu.
19 And Aaron said vnto Moses, Behold, this day haue they offred their sinne offring, and their burnt offring before the Lord, and such things as thou knowest are come vnto mee: If I had eaten the sinne offring to day, should it haue bene accepted in the sight of the Lord?
Et Aaron dit à Moïse: Voici, aujourd'hui ils ont offert leur victime expiatoire et leur holocauste devant l'Éternel, et moi j'ai vu ces événements; pourrais-je donc aujourd'hui manger la victime et serait-ce bien aux yeux de l'Éternel?
20 So when Moses heard it, he was content.
Ce que Moïse ayant entendu, il approuva.
