< Lamentations 5 >
1 Remember, O Lord, what is come vpon vs: consider, and behold our reproche.
Awurade, kae nea aba yɛn so; hwɛ, na hu yɛn animguase.
2 Our inheritance is turned to the strangers, our houses to the aliants.
Wɔadan yɛn agyapade ama ahɔho, wɔde yɛn afi ama ananafo.
3 We are fatherles, euen without father, and our mothers are as widowes.
Yɛayɛ nyisaa na yenni agyanom, yɛn nanom yɛ akunafo.
4 Wee haue drunke our water for money, and our wood is solde vnto vs.
Ɛsɛ sɛ yɛtɔ nsu a yɛnom; yebenya nnyina a, gye sɛ yɛtɔ.
5 Our neckes are vnder persecution: we are wearie, and haue no rest.
Wɔn a wɔtaa yɛn no abɛn yɛn pɛɛ; Yɛabrɛ na yennya ahomegye.
6 We haue giuen our handes to the Egyptians, and to Asshur, to be satisfied with bread.
Yɛde yɛn ho maa Misraim ne Asiria sɛnea yebenya aduan a ɛbɛso yɛn.
7 Our fathers haue sinned, and are not, and we haue borne their iniquities.
Yɛn agyanom yɛɛ bɔne, na wonni hɔ bio, na yɛn na wɔn asotwe abɛda yɛn so.
8 Seruants haue ruled ouer vs, none would deliuer vs out of their hands.
Nkoa di yɛn so, na obiara nni hɔ a obegye yɛn afi wɔn nsam.
9 Wee gate our bread with the perill of our liues, because of the sword of the wildernesse.
Yɛde yɛn nkwa bɔ afɔre de pɛ yɛn anoduan, afoa a ɛwɔ sare so no nti.
10 Our skinne was blacke like as an ouen because of the terrible famine.
Yɛn honam adɔ sɛ fononoo. Ɔkɔm ama atiridii abɔ yɛn.
11 They defiled the women in Zion, and the maydes in the cities of Iudah.
Wɔato mmea mmonnaa wɔ Sion, ne mmabun a wɔwɔ Yuda nkurow so.
12 The princes are hanged vp by their hande: the faces of the elders were not had in honour.
Wɔkyekyere mmapɔmma nsa na wɔasɛn wɔn; wɔmmfa nidi mma mpanyimfo.
13 They tooke the yong men to grinde, and the children fell vnder the wood.
Mmerante yɛ adwumaden wɔ awiyammo so; na mmerantewa nan toto wɔ nnyina duruduru ase.
14 The Elders haue ceased from the gate and the yong men from their songs.
Mpanyimfo ntena kuropɔn apon ano bio; mmerante agyae wɔn nnwonto.
15 The ioy of our heart is gone, our daunce is turned into mourning.
Ahosɛpɛw afi yɛn koma mu; yɛn asaw adan agyaadwotwa.
16 The crowne of our head is fallen: wo nowe vnto vs, that we haue sinned.
Ahenkyɛw afi yɛn ti so. Yɛn ara, yennue sɛ yɛayɛ bɔne!
17 Therefore our heart is heauy for these things, our eyes are dimme,
Eyi nti yɛn koma atɔ beraw, eyinom nti yɛn ani so ayɛ kusuu
18 Because of the mountaine of Zion which is desolate: the foxes runne vpon it.
wɔ Sion bepɔw a ada mpan na sakraman nenam so no nti.
19 But thou, O Lord, remainest for euer: thy throne is from generation to generation.
Wo, Awurade, di hene afebɔɔ; wʼahengua fi awo ntoatoaso kosi awo ntoatoaso.
20 Wherefore doest thou forget vs for euer, and forsake vs so long time?
Adɛn nti na wo werɛ fi yɛn daa yi? Adɛn nti na wagyaw yɛn, mmere tenten mu yi?
21 Turne thou vs vnto thee, O Lord, and we shalbe turned: renue our dayes as of olde.
Ka yɛn bata wo ho bio, Awurade, na yɛatumi asan aba wo nkyɛn; yɛ yɛn nna foforo sɛ tete no
22 But thou hast vtterly reiected vs: thou art exceedingly angry against vs.
gye sɛ woapo yɛn koraa anaasɛ wo bo afuw yɛn mmoroso.
