Lamentations 5
1 Remember, O Lord, what is come vpon vs: consider, and behold our reproche.
Wspomnij, PANIE, na to, co nas spotkało. Spójrz i zobacz nasze pohańbienie.
2 Our inheritance is turned to the strangers, our houses to the aliants.
Nasze dziedzictwo przypadło obcym, a nasze domy – cudzoziemcom.
3 We are fatherles, euen without father, and our mothers are as widowes.
Staliśmy się sierotami, bez ojca; nasze matki są jak wdowy.
4 Wee haue drunke our water for money, and our wood is solde vnto vs.
Własną wodę pijemy za pieniądze, nasze drwa za pieniądze kupujemy.
5 Our neckes are vnder persecution: we are wearie, and haue no rest.
Prześladowanie ciąży na naszym karku. Pracujemy, [a] nie dają nam odpocząć.
6 We haue giuen our handes to the Egyptians, and to Asshur, to be satisfied with bread.
Podawaliśmy rękę Egipcjanom i Asyryjczykom, aby nasycić się chlebem.
7 Our fathers haue sinned, and are not, and we haue borne their iniquities.
Nasi ojcowie zgrzeszyli, nie ma ich, a my nosimy ich nieprawość.
8 Seruants haue ruled ouer vs, none would deliuer vs out of their hands.
Niewolnicy panują nad nami, nie ma nikogo, kto by nas wybawił z ich ręki.
9 Wee gate our bread with the perill of our liues, because of the sword of the wildernesse.
Z narażeniem życia szukamy swego chleba z powodu miecza [na] pustyni.
10 Our skinne was blacke like as an ouen because of the terrible famine.
Nasza skóra jak piec zaciemniła się od strasznego głodu.
11 They defiled the women in Zion, and the maydes in the cities of Iudah.
Kobiety na Syjonie hańbiono, a panny – w miastach Judy.
12 The princes are hanged vp by their hande: the faces of the elders were not had in honour.
Książęta byli wieszani ich rękami, oblicza starszych nie uszanowano.
13 They tooke the yong men to grinde, and the children fell vnder the wood.
Młodzieńców wzięli do młócenia, dzieci padały pod [ciężarem] drewna.
14 The Elders haue ceased from the gate and the yong men from their songs.
Starcy w bramach już nie siadają, młodzieńcy przestali [śpiewać] swoje pieśni.
15 The ioy of our heart is gone, our daunce is turned into mourning.
Radość zniknęła z naszych serc, nasze pląsanie zamieniło się w żałobę.
16 The crowne of our head is fallen: wo nowe vnto vs, that we haue sinned.
Spadła korona z naszej głowy. Biada nam, bo zgrzeszyliśmy!
17 Therefore our heart is heauy for these things, our eyes are dimme,
Dlatego nasze serce omdlewa, dlatego nasze oczy są zaćmione.
18 Because of the mountaine of Zion which is desolate: the foxes runne vpon it.
Z powodu spustoszonej góry Syjonu lisy chodzą po niej.
19 But thou, O Lord, remainest for euer: thy throne is from generation to generation.
Ty, PANIE, trwasz na wieki, twój tron z pokolenia na pokolenie.
20 Wherefore doest thou forget vs for euer, and forsake vs so long time?
Czemu zapominasz o nas na wieki i opuszczasz nas na tak długi czas?
21 Turne thou vs vnto thee, O Lord, and we shalbe turned: renue our dayes as of olde.
Nawróć nas do siebie, PANIE, a będziemy nawróceni; odnów nasze dni, jak dawniej.
22 But thou hast vtterly reiected vs: thou art exceedingly angry against vs.
Czy odrzuciłeś nas całkowicie? Czy bardzo się na nas gniewałeś?
