Lamentations 5
1 Remember, O Lord, what is come vpon vs: consider, and behold our reproche.
Ενθυμήθητι, Κύριε, τι έγεινεν εις ημάς· επίβλεψον, και ιδέ τον ονειδισμόν ημών.
2 Our inheritance is turned to the strangers, our houses to the aliants.
Η κληρονομία ημών μετεστράφη εις αλλοτρίους, αι οικίαι ημών εις ξένους.
3 We are fatherles, euen without father, and our mothers are as widowes.
Εγείναμεν ορφανοί άνευ πατρός, αι μητέρες ημών ως χήραι.
4 Wee haue drunke our water for money, and our wood is solde vnto vs.
Με αργύριον επίομεν το ύδωρ ημών· τα ξύλα ημών επωλήθησαν εις ημάς.
5 Our neckes are vnder persecution: we are wearie, and haue no rest.
Επί τον τράχηλον ημών είναι διωγμός· εμοχθήσαμεν, ανάπαυσιν δεν έχομεν.
6 We haue giuen our handes to the Egyptians, and to Asshur, to be satisfied with bread.
Ηπλώσαμεν χείρα προς τους Αιγυπτίους, προς τους Ασσυρίους, διά να χορτασθώμεν άρτον.
7 Our fathers haue sinned, and are not, and we haue borne their iniquities.
Οι πατέρες ημών ημάρτησαν, εκείνοι δεν υπάρχουσι· και ημείς φέρομεν τας ανομίας αυτών.
8 Seruants haue ruled ouer vs, none would deliuer vs out of their hands.
Δούλοι εξουσιάζουσιν εφ' ημάς· δεν υπάρχει ο λυτρόνων εκ της χειρός αυτών.
9 Wee gate our bread with the perill of our liues, because of the sword of the wildernesse.
Φέρομεν τον άρτον ημών μετά κινδύνου της ζωής ημών, απ' έμπροσθεν της ρομφαίας της ερήμου.
10 Our skinne was blacke like as an ouen because of the terrible famine.
Το δέρμα ημών ημαυρώθη ως κλίβανος, από της καύσεως της πείνης.
11 They defiled the women in Zion, and the maydes in the cities of Iudah.
Εταπείνωσαν τας γυναίκας εν Σιών, τας παρθένους εν ταις πόλεσιν Ιούδα.
12 The princes are hanged vp by their hande: the faces of the elders were not had in honour.
Οι άρχοντες εκρεμάσθησαν υπό των χειρών αυτών· τα πρόσωπα των πρεσβυτέρων δεν ετιμήθησαν.
13 They tooke the yong men to grinde, and the children fell vnder the wood.
Οι νέοι υπεβλήθησαν εις το άλεσμα, και τα παιδία έπεσον υπό τα ξύλα.
14 The Elders haue ceased from the gate and the yong men from their songs.
Οι πρεσβύτεροι έπαυσαν από των πυλών, οι νέοι από των ασμάτων αυτών.
15 The ioy of our heart is gone, our daunce is turned into mourning.
Έπαυσεν η χαρά της καρδίας ημών, ο χορός ημών εστράφη εις πένθος.
16 The crowne of our head is fallen: wo nowe vnto vs, that we haue sinned.
Ο στέφανος της κεφαλής ημών έπεσεν· ουαί δε εις ημάς, διότι ημαρτήσαμεν.
17 Therefore our heart is heauy for these things, our eyes are dimme,
Διά τούτο εξέλιπεν η καρδία ημών, διά ταύτα εσκοτοδινίασαν οι οφθαλμοί ημών.
18 Because of the mountaine of Zion which is desolate: the foxes runne vpon it.
Διά την ερήμωσιν του όρους Σιών, αι αλώπεκες περιπατούσιν εν αυτώ.
19 But thou, O Lord, remainest for euer: thy throne is from generation to generation.
Συ, Κύριε, κατοικείς εις τον αιώνα· ο θρόνος σου διαμένει εις γενεάν και γενεάν.
20 Wherefore doest thou forget vs for euer, and forsake vs so long time?
Διά τι θέλεις μας λησμονήσει διά παντός; θέλεις μας εγκαταλείψει εις μακρότητα ημερών;
21 Turne thou vs vnto thee, O Lord, and we shalbe turned: renue our dayes as of olde.
Επίστρεψον ημάς, Κύριε, προς σε και θέλομεν επιστραφή. Ανανέωσον τας ημέρας ημών ως το πρότερον.
22 But thou hast vtterly reiected vs: thou art exceedingly angry against vs.
Διατί απέρριψας ημάς ολοτελώς, ωργίσθης εναντίον ημών έως σφόδρα;
